Preliminary investigations, according to the minister, have established that the gas supply shortage was caused by the ELP explosion and acts of vandalism on gas pipelines in the Niger Delta region. Why are we like this? Some people just like seeing their fellow humans suffer To what end is the vandalisation of gas pipelines when it is clearly obvious that it can not be containerized. Now that petrol availability is not a cause for concern, the enemies of the people have focused their gaze on the gas pipelines. |
Understanding Promises and Contracts Definition of a Promise A promise is a commitment made by one party to do or refrain from doing something in the future. It signifies an intention to act in a certain way, which can be communicated verbally or in writing. The person making the promise is known as the promisor, while the person receiving the promise is the promisee. When a Promise Becomes a Contract Not all promises are legally binding contracts. For a promise to qualify as a contract, it generally must meet certain criteria: 1- Offer and Acceptance: There must be a clear offer made by one party and accepted by another. 2- Consideration: This refers to something of value exchanged between the parties, which can be a service, payment, or goods. 3- Mutual Assent: Both parties must agree to the terms of the promise. Enforceability of Promises In some cases, a promise can be enforced even if it does not meet all the criteria of a contract. This is often due to the doctrine of "promissory estoppel," which allows a promise to be enforced if: A-The promisee relied on the promise to their detriment. B-The reliance was reasonable and foreseeable by the promisor. C-Enforcing the promise is necessary to avoid injustice. Conclusion While a promise can be a component of a contract, it does not automatically constitute one. Legal enforceability depends on the presence of specific elements like consideration and mutual agreement. |
I can see you grading is done using reported cultism related deaths. It is already flawed as other confounding variables are also at play. Say no to cultism |
This is the kind of anti- people policy our leaders would like to replicate at home. Very soon a bill will get accelerated hearing for the garnishment of our bank accounts should you be found wanting in filing your tax returns. That is if it has not been padded in already. |
I want to take this news with a pinch of salt. |
He got served very early in the game. Which woman abandons a 3 month old child that should be breastfeeding without any ioata of remorse for 5 straight days? Gen Z! |
CandyOps:Let's not continue to hide under the toga of this is Nigeria. The attitude we brazenly display here with reckless abandon dissipates without warning immediately we step our feet in climes where the law doesn't respect personalities. That's to tell you that our behavior is environmental and not a genetic mutation. Uphold the law and see people shape-up. I was a teenager during the Buhari-Idiagbon regime. Come and see orderliness and cleanliness in kaduna those years. Though, I will not subscribe to draconian laws or military rule. Failure of the law breeds indiscipline |
Our quest for healing and wealth from questionable sources will lead us into deeper troubles. Imagine what people must have drank in that place in the name of seeking healing |
Wickedtruths:Exactly my thought The project was only named after the former president and not directly linked to him. |
First thing first! The identity card is the most important decider. I don't think it's me, a bloody civilian that will be asking an armed impersonator to bring out his id for identification. Those castigating soldiers for arresting erring police men flaunting a presidential directive are oblivious of the fact that it was an order from the C-in-C of the armed forces of the federal Republic of Nigeria |
LegendHero:I don't have the copy but why are we clamping down on those who debated, corrected and forwarded the Bill back to the executive for assent? Like I said, the upper legislature is the author of confusion in all this brouhaha |
Thank God no life was lost. Growing up, there use to be crossing gates wherever rail lines intersect with roads. Whatever happened to this important safety feature which should have stopped the encroachment of the bus onto the track even before the train arrived the intersection? Why build infrastructures without supporting structures and safety features? |
helinues:Why are you talking like this? Must we wait for its implementation before we complain if truly alterations were made to it? The presidency has already clarified that presidential assent has been given and the law gazzetted. Must we wait for the law to take effect before obnoxious clauses and alterations are removed? It's because the upper legislative arm is keeping mum that's why this issue seems complicated. Time shall definitely tell

The driver obviously took his anger too far whatsoever the provocation. Now his uncouth and unrestrained outburst is all over the Internet as evidence against him. This guy will be out of circulation for a long time. Ha ha ha! Just one sucker punch from the civilian that broke the scuffle almost sent the rabid driver to the ground. |
This is a welcomed development. Abuja, as the administrative capital of the nation can't afford to be "Dirty" especially this time when visitors are trooping into the country to celebrate "detty" December |
A promise made and kept in record time. This gesture by the president is enough to spur the AFCON team to clinch the trophy for more laurels. Congratulations! |
lordm:True, Mali was a former ECOWAS country now in a sahel block called AES alongside Burkina fasso and Niger. Mali has border with 6 other West coast countries but not with Ghana ( Except after traversing Ivory Coast). Just like Ghana doesn't have direct border crossing with Nigeria until Togo and Benin Republic is traversed. Their mission here is very suspicious indeed (especially close to the seat of power). |
60 years old wine is not his mate. He's busy fighting too many battles on several fronts to have the peace required to build adipose tissues. |
Let them bring it on! What ever does not kill us will only make us stronger. Tribulation has an expiry date |
WizardOfNG:Your vituperation is noted. Have a good day!

DeOTR:I quite understand . I can already see the confusion that the tax law is going to engender and we are not seeing it yet. Most of the people earning below 800k per year who think the tax reprieve is automatic will be shocked when they discover that without filing a tax return at the end of the year, they are liable to being charged with tax evasion. It is not like I don't pay my taxes. Infact my income tax currently is exactly N111,116.90 per month ( checked my payslip) which is bound to reduce marginally with the new tax law. However, the same can't be said of most others especially the high net worth who invariably are the CEOs of these manufacturing companies and industries. A recent article on why cement is more expensive in Nigeria than other countries highlighted our high CIT and other taxes as a primary reason. This statement came from no less a person than Dangote. Are we, who have not ventured into his manufacturing scale going to debunk his claims with our theory based knowledge? Elon musk does not pay tax, Warren Buffett' tax is so insignificant that he claims his secretary pays way higher. Trump has always bragged that he doesn't not pay tax. Robert kiyosaki also does not pay income tax. How do they do it? TAX AVOIDANCE . By tax avoidance (not evasion), these high net worth individuals would legally outsmart the system and it's me and you that would be left holding the bag. Look beyond the letters of the tax law and see the leeway it indirectly offers those we think it is supposed to milk

It has always been obvious to the discerning that they would want to stage an attack in Lagos if only to prove that no where is beyond their reach. Now that they have all been designated as terrorists, the capital punishment should be deployed on arrested bandits and kidnappers ASAP. We have to be on guard and like they say: "If you see something, say something" |
I just pray this enthusiasm is borne out of a good place. Does he own MRS by proxy? His cousin should be the one making such announcement. |
One thing I know of the next world war is that survivors would need sticks and stones to start another one. This is not a new allegation . Russia was accused of firing a space weapon in 2020 at one of its own decommissioned satellites spreading debris which could have destroyed nearby satellites.

Troubling how a man can abandon the mother of his children just because of a little challenge that is common amongst humans. Turn the table around, this woman would have stood with the man through his travail. What goes around comes around |
As a country of particular concern, I guess we need a new ambassador tutored to watch us closely ! ![]() |
Abeg! How do you enter Nigeria through Ghana? Except through a connecting flight, which I very much doubt was the case, Nigeria does not share any land border with Ghana. This is bad journalism. |
If they could easily enter the country unchecked at the border, travelled inland through the myriad of police, customs , immigration and military check points still undetected, then our security is useless. |
A hard line Republican with bile for Nigeria's faltering democracy will soon submit his letter of credence to the house in the rock. Trump i presume is eager to watch Nigeria closely after our designation as CPC. |
Better, the kingpin's mug shot finally on display. I thought this was a recent news. Why is her DOA 1986? Good job NDLEA! |
Until we hear from these her "so called friends" , I reserve my comments. |
Just imagine the deployment of medical knowledge (Air embolism) in malfeasance ! Who am I to judge this doctor who may have seen members of his family and innocent children unjustly targeted and gruesomely killed by Israeli drones , artillery and ground troops. War is unbridled madness |
