There should be palpable difference in the way the war against terrorism and banditry is fought going forward. If by 6 week there is no impetus to galvanize the ground troops to turn back the gains of these terrorists and stem their attacks on soft targets, then he would have capitulated to the forces of the enemy within and dashed our last hope of exiting this quagmire. |
Just blink and you will wonder if that money developed wings and took flight. The grim aspect is the fact that it takes sweat and man hours to make but can be expended in a jiffy. |
Pepper Dem gang Happy to see Annie enjoying herself with her family. It's a passing phase in 2baba's life and it will turn out all good las las! Mistakes made and lessons learnt. |
Hoping he would be given free hand to carry out his objectives to fruition. His brief stint outside office must have given him some deep insight into the amorphous and convoluted complexity of insecurity from a vantage and unencumbered position |
EMTL has been scrapped with the new policy. Your 9,999 has been overtaken by current events. |
The greatest plus for me is the abrogation of tiered cash deposits in most MFBs and digital finance platforms where except you are at tier 3,you are exempt from carry out large transactions. With the removal of limits on cash deposits, the tiered system has collapsed. The other side of the coin is that CBN can now mop out excess liquidity from circulation and also effectively grab tax dodgers lured into their net with this policy. Also, the removal of the ETF will encourage more digital payments and transactions. By an large, it's an efficient policy fit for the season. |
I don't know why we are so disruptive in our "anyhowness" Why would the appearance of a masquerade be the source of disorder and trepidation instead of it showcasing or rich cultural heritage? Their characterisations with anarchy may well relegate them to the dustbin of history in no distant future. To think that they are supposed custodians of the Spirits our ancestors speaks ill of them as well. |
Karma! Some mistakes are destined from another realm. The recoil did the damage as he was lowering his weapon oblivious of the favour he just did us. His sins just found him out. |
Hmmm! We are surrounded round about by the way the insecurity has engulfed every state of this " ...................... Country" |
These street urchins are a blight to the growth of a modern mega city. They only have a 4 yearly relevance after which they are potential criminals awaiting their crimes. Democracy seems to have been the catalyst for their exponential growth in Nigeria. |
Good end to an exploit that may have easily gone south. I'm happy she could recover her valuables and survived the escape. |
Just like the Israeli hit the TV station with precision, this IRGC command center strike was a classic from a Hollywood film. This was a leaked video footage from the CCTV camera within the facility. Talk about an enemy within!. |
DiamondSword799:Gen. Uba's death was not only humiliating to the military but the lack of action from the military high command seems to agree with the general notion of complicity on their part. Col. Achigilli's case as you highlighted should bother on improper channelling of his grievance. If I recall correctly ,he's a member of NDA course 44 and must have lost seniority since course 45 are already Brigadier general e g Obasanjo. He shouldn't have allowed his emotions to get the better part of him. He's a soldier and a senior officer at that. He knows the punishment for such actions. |
Might have been true that the study of medicine was fraught with medical textbooks so large that just one can dwarf the whole textbooks of some specialties. However, with the advent of the Internet, AI, soft copies of most textbooks, that assertion should be archived in the dustbin of history except you still want to remain analogue in this digital era. Having a good orientation and scope of the requirements to study medicine would go a long way in mitigating the casualties recorded during the exams. For example, while some students have flare for a broader knowledge of any subject matter, some medical exams in the undergraduate level are notebook based hence helping those who limit their study to their notes to excel more than the well rounded efficos. One sorry and pathetic plight that transcends medical school into a doctor's work life is poor remuneration. After all the toils in school, a doctor can hardly cope with the economic reality s/he's confronted with. While his 4 year course pairs are already established and earning fantastic salaries outside, he is saddled with a house job that is as exhausting as it is tasking and the little subcutaneous fat he manages to escape with from school is lost in his /her 1st posting as a house officer. MBBS is fulfilling to the altruistic but the reward may very well be found in heaven like those of the teachers. ( That is, if you make the heaven).

Whatever is pushing humans to be this savage and inhuman cannot be of God and most certainly cannot emanate from a place of Peace. This is barbaric and despicable. God! Where are you? |
Our "Anyhowness" in this country is legendary. What business has NURTW got to do with roadblock? Even law enforcement agencies have been cautioned and are being dissuaded from setting up roadblocks Another needless deaths and injuries just because of "kobo kobo" Is this not a "disgrace" ? |
And wike was saying they should call him and discuss land issues so he can see how things can be settled! The only language that man seems to understand was what transpired between him and AM Yerima. Anything short of that, bulldozers would have brought down the former CNS structure that day. Let's see how FCDA hopes to explain these high profile seizures in coming days. |
Like someone above asked, to fight what exactly? These terrorists and bandits are intertwined with the civil populace who they hold either as human shield or parts of their community. This multiple rocket launcher is to "carpet bomb" a mechanised advancing army with maximum damage to their ordinances e.g vehicles, Tanks, supplies and not rag tags on bikes. If used against our bandit location, the outcry that will follow it would be worse than the Air Force bombing of civilians in Rann. |
Intrepid01:You missed it my brother. Have you heard of Dysgeusia before? On the contrary, I'm a sweet soul enjoying Nigeria but "concerned" about how it has degenerated from a country where I traveled majorly at nights using "night bus" and even " trailer" on one occasion as a student in Ibadan (Greatest UITES) to one where we are not even safe inside our bedrooms. The bitterness you described me with may just be your reality that you project on others. My state has one international border on the easter flank for your information. Go check your taste buds, no bitterness here! |
Impressive and colorful POP May these lot have meaningful impact in checkmating crime and criminality in Nigeria and not be compromised by the system. |
Just imagine closing a sovereign country's airspace just because you have the wherewithal. This life no balance |
As a member of West Africa Elders Forum, it behoves on him to debrief his president on the ill-fated mission to G/Bissau. No bad blood |
They Looks like new immigrants savouring their new country and first rainfall, thanking God for the exodus from probably a "disgraced country of particular concern" |
This is how modern warfare is fought. Ground troops can not operate effectively without an eye in the sky. Kudos to the NAF for the clean-up exercise and scheduling a meeting between the terrorists and their maker. Those dregs of society do not deserve another day on earth. Looking forward to a proactive Reconnaissance and interdiction by our armed drones, instead of being reactive. Kudos to our military

Years back, MI Abaga made jest on the prelude of his MI 2 ( The movie album - 2010) "we do not return those who we kidnap! We are not Nigerians" I wonder what changed that kidnappers now have to even kill victims for not meeting-up to their ransom demands after collecting what the helpless family can put together. This is "wickedness in high places" and should carry the maximum penalty of "public execution by firing squad"

We've all been there before. Lessons learnt have also been indelible. You want everyone of your siblings and parents to enjoy with you but they leave you out to dry when hard times come calling. One rich man in a colony of the poor is also a POOR MAN . BLACK TAX is a crime against humanity |
Senior military officers from the DIA seem to be getting accolades these days. Way to build your own "loyal cult" I guess. Navy and Air Force to follow suit soon. |
Obviously 5 WTO president and Jack ma of Ali baba would be a good business proposition and exposure. Other seats will be just for clout and picture opportunities. However associating with seat 3 ( wike/omotosho) can get you lynched upon disembarking |
Anither563:I will reply your post like the gentleman that I am. It is true that the Military is not an arena for indiscipline or cowardice . Can you make it make sense how a brigade (comprising of over 4 battalions) will be ransacked by some ragtag hungry looking miscreants with only 2 KIA and the brigade commander will be captured? If those troops that fled leaving their commander behind are not cowards, then that nomenclature deserves a new definition. This is the same military that withdrew from a school by 4am based on orders from ? and 30 minutes later bandits harvested innocent children from the same school. Who gave the order?True there are laws discouraging men in uniform from voicing their grievance on social media. But with this military! (If you talk, you die. If you don't talk, you still die. So, it's better to talk and.....).... Dino Melaye |
Eh! This cleric has really lived a long life. Was a regular face on NTA Kaduna in the mid 80s and early 90s when we were stuck with a mono channel with no room to manoeuvre like today. (Tafsirs during Ramadan on NTA Kaduna that year) Not as fiery and extreme like the others (to my mind though) RIP |
