I have serious concerns about the Army under Gen. Shaibu. The postings he made, his handling of Brig. Uba's death, are two red flags for me. But time would tell. For now, let's follow the case of Col. Audu Achigili.

Gen. Uba's death was not only humiliating to the military but the lack of action from the military high command seems to agree with the general notion of complicity on their part.

Col. Achigilli's case as you highlighted should bother on improper channelling of his grievance. If I recall correctly ,he's a member of NDA course 44 and must have lost seniority since course 45 are already Brigadier general e g Obasanjo.
He shouldn't have allowed his emotions to get the better part of him. He's a soldier and a senior officer at that. He knows the punishment for such actions.

Might have been true that the study of medicine was fraught with medical textbooks so large that just one can dwarf the whole textbooks of some specialties. However, with the advent of the Internet, AI, soft copies of most textbooks, that assertion should be archived in the dustbin of history except you still want to remain analogue in this digital era.

Having a good orientation and scope of the requirements to study medicine would go a long way in mitigating the casualties recorded during the exams.
