It's just like saying 2x - x which equals x.

Same way, 2log3 - log3 = log3


If the base is 3,

Log3 to base 3 equals 1.

can it also be.

log3^2 - log 3 =
log(3^2/3). =
log (9/3). =
log 3

hi family and happy new year.. . I applied for MCF University of Edinburgh graduate program. Since I'm a fresh graduate( haven't gone for NySC), I didn't apply with any documents such as transcript, English competency test results etc. I'm currently studying for Ielts but I keep getting discouraged that I might never be invited for an interview let alone be awarded the scholarship.. Results are not officially out but I should be around second class upper ( 4.xx). my WAEC isn't great either.. I need a confidence boost, please rate me.

I) the equation is X= a + by, .... equation (0). where a and b are constants.
substituting values, x= 16 when y = 2 , and x= 10 when y=5
16 = a + 2b ................(1)
10 = a + 5b ................(2)
subtract equation (2) from (1) will give, 6= -3b. divide both sides by -3
therefore b = -2 ...
to get a, put b = -2 into equation (2), 10 = a + (-2×5), 10 = a -10 , 10+10=a, .. 20=a..
replace b = -2 and a = 20 into equation (0)

therefore the required equation is X = 20 - 2y ..... equation (3).

ii) x, when y = 8. just substitute into equation (3)
I.e x = 20 - 2 ( 8 )
x= 20 - 16
x= 4.
iii) same as above . y when x = 12
12= 20 - 2 y
12 - 20 = -2y
-8 = -2y
y = 4 ( divide both sides by -2)..

My main university is ISARA-LYON ( a grand ecole in France) and that is the university I applied to. But the first two semesters of the program will be spent at one of the 5 partner universities depending on your specialization ( so I chose Romania and Germany). You can google up on Erasmus+ or Erasmus Mundus for more information.

Well, these are the few things I can tell you about studying in Romania.

I stay in Cluj. It is a youthful city with almost zero crime. and I must admit I fell in love with the city. I have never lived a more peaceful life. I even told my university I would like to stay in Romania for the next semester but they disagreed.

Romanian Universities are good. I can't answer about cheap because I dont know how much they pay.

Cost of living in Romania is relatively cheap (according to European standards) but more expensive than in Nigeria. About €200 should be enough to take care of feeding/month. Accommodation depends on if you stay in the student dormitories, share a flat or have a private apartment. I stay in the dormitory and like all Erasmus students pay €200/month. Regular students pay about €50/month but be aware that the facilities are not the same so you can expect to share a room with some others. Private apartments are from €150-300, depending on city, place and facilities.

Wow! Between 2005 and 2010, I already earned a masters and phd in the United States, all for free! Postgraduate school in Nigeria is a waste of time and I'm glad I left as early as I could.
