MrPresident1:How do you feel saying things like this? Dont you realize that we've divided ourselves too much already? Why would you want to promote further division by making claims of some people being inferior aboriginals and others being superior non-aboriginals. How can you even spit something like this without remorse. Whatever be your source of this claim is evil. Please examinine yourself very well. Dont throw in more confusion, we have enough already. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

urheme:there's something you're missing here, one time every developed countries had similar cultures, but just like language and reason, culture also undergoes evolution. The cultural practices of our ancestors were not bound to remain the same forever and ever, at some points there will always be cultural amendments that will be brought by societal awareness. Nearly all religion and culture were once barbaric, but the inevitable thing is transformation. So how can you tell that our cultures would not have evolved or transformed into something better than what we have now if we had maintained them. The imported religious ideas has caused us more harm than good no matter how you look at it. Our cultures were not perfect neither is any religion. I think we would have fared better maintaining what truly represents our identity. My thoughts 6 Likes 1 Share |

Politics / Re: Can Morality And Politics Co-Exist? Can Morality Find A Place In Naija Politics? by matrix600(m): 4:29pm On Dec 27, 2015 |
The idea that Politics is a game reserved only for the unjust as is popularly perceived is bad and misleading, politics is for all. As a politician what matters is what you bring to the table. The hesitation of morally upright persons to get actively involved in the politics and governance of a nation is the reason why unjust and immoral persons have all the freedom to exploit the people and abuse their office. Truly moral persons have the duty to defend it, it is their place to checkmate immorality wherever it is found, be it in politics or in our everyday activities. If the politics of nigeria is championed by unjust and selfish persons then it is the direct result of the inability and cowardice of the 'just' and 'morally upright' citizens to act. People must fill positions in government, dont you think nigeria would be a better place if key government positions are filled with persons who are moral and Just? But how can that happen if these crop of persons dont step up. There is no excuse for the morally upright to withdraw from politics, everyone should be able to stay strong to their character even if their required to step on toes especially when you're fighting for a good cause, the interest of the people should always come first. A good leader does not strive to prove his reputation to the people, he strives to defend the interest of the people. It is left for the people to judge him by his deeds. Politics is for all, leadership is for all. 1 Like 1 Share |

First of all to MizMyColi, u're a superbly beautiful, superbly intelligent & superbly patriotic, I think i'm falling in luv. To the matter at hand Politics has no relationship with morality, morality is a personal trait, so is immorality. Politics is a system of governance, and in politics just like in every other thing in life good and bad people emerge. 'Evil triumph when good men fail to act' so they say. The good and morally upright has no excuse to withdraw from governance and political involvements. If the political system of a country is bad due to bad elements in the polity and their negative agendas, it is the duty of the morally upright and selfless persons to step and push for reform. Patriotism requires bravery, 'bravery' is a trait i consider to be moral especially when it used for a good cause. A morally upright politician has alot more to prove than his opposite, because every now and then his morality is put to the test. But sometimes when things get tricky a man will have to cross his own moral boundary if it is for the greater good of the majority and the detriment of few others, i'm feeling dizzy..will continue tomorrow 1 Like 1 Share |

Afam4eva:Our problem- we lack patriotism, nobody wants to go all out to risk their lives to challenge the corrupt system we find ourselves in. We need the spirit of patriotism, the responsibility of turning this country around for the better falls on every single youth. I'm pleading to all nigerian youths, lets drop our differences and put our voices together. We all need to be patriots so our children will not label us cowards. We are the only ones that can save this generation because we are in it. 1 Like |
Religion / Re: My Fellow Atheists...it's High Time We Went Political To Rebuild This Nation. by matrix600(m): 2:01pm On Dec 14, 2015 |
This is the best way i think we can achieve this, listen... First we need to put down the atheism tag, we have to look for a way to rally as many youths as we can through any media possible, we have to encourage everyone to drop their religious and irreligious differences, we have to remind the youth that we're in this together, that we have only ourselves in this country, that it is our country and our duty to get along and take charge, we have to make it obvious that the movement is for the benefit of all no matter their religious affiliation. If christians and muslims, traditional worshippers and atheists can get along and work together in this movement, then it will be a very huge leap towards the success of a co-ordinated and organised youth front. We need the 'THE ORGANISED PEOPLE' first. |

I am not an atheist, i do not brand myself any title. I have my own belief and my belief is more like that of Baruch spinoza. I'm in support of this idea and the movement, but i wouldn't want the movement to become an 'atheist only movement'. If our priority in this movement is to make a positive impact in this country and to take the helms of leadership or make reforms, all that is noble and i'm interested if only it doesn't become a war against the religious. We need a revolution for this country to move forward, we may have to step on toes along the way, we should expect blows as well. I believe this movement is only for the brave. This is like a dream, i'd like to see it come true |

If all the 'information' in your brain titled 'PAUL RAYMOND' is formatted or extracted and put in a flash drive while you're still alive, and even downloaded into another brain, what will be your reality? I suppose your mind will become as blank as that of a newly born. Supposing you being a christian pastor<before the informations were removed> are dumped in a mosque in saudi arabia having no knowledge of anything what will be your reality? My guess... You'll learn to take your first step, to pronounce words, to see, to feel, to count, to understand what you hear, all over again you have to learn every single thing, and probably become muslim, maybe a sheik bowing to Allah you'll be called 'IBRAHIM MUSTAFA'. If IBRAHIM MUSTAFA meets the new PAUL RAYMOND in a bus and they converse, what will be the experience if they start blasting each other in their respective beliefs and refuse to agree? Will mustafa suddenly realise that he's speaking with his former self? My answer... The memory of him being paul is no more, that information is lost so they'll argue to the death. So in essence i agree that we recognise ourselves by our accumulated knowledge and that knowledge is us. If that knowledge is transfered elsewhere so are we. I agree that we are neither a brain nor do we have a brain. We are just the information in the brain. And the central point of the information is what i call the 'soul'. It serves the purpose of the sun in the solar system. But if information in the brain can be lost while the brain is still alive, then a new history of brain activity can be created in the empty brain- a new information, a new personality and a new soul will have to emerge. 1 Like |
