The ability to convert images to text is technically referred to as Optical Character Recognition (OCR). It can be really useful whenever you need to convert a paper document into an editable, digital form. There aren’t many OCR apps on android. Of the few that are available, Google Goggles is the most popular one. It’s entirely free and does exactly what it promises – copy text from a picture and paste it elsewhere. Main features Google Goggles converts an image of text to actual text that you can copy, paste and manipulate in any other way.It can translate the resulting text into many different languages. It can recognize business cards and add them to your Android device as contacts. This whole process just takes a single tap. Google Goggles cannot precisely be described as a perfect OCR app, but it delivers quite well. It converts any image into copyable text. You can then paste this text into a document editor, your email app, your note-taking app, SMS, or just about anything else. It easily recognizes business cards and automatically adds the details to your contacts. It’s also able to translate text into tons of languages. Other OCR Apps There aren’t a lot of competitors to Google Goggles on the Android marketplace. The second best app that you can use to convert images to text is ScanDoc Document Reader . This scanner channels the resulting text into many apps on your device, with just a single click. Unlike Google Goggles, though, the app doesn’t perform well when it comes to doing everything it promises to do since there are occasional failures sending the text to apps such as Dropbox (at least for us). They’ll probably fix these bugs but it also isn’t free. The interface also doesn’t come across the board as intriguing. However, if you find that Google Goggles isn’t precisely what you want, ScanDoc might work for you. Google Docs is also equipped with an OCR feature that works pretty much the same. The main advantage of the Google Docs OCR feature is that it recognizes line breaks, which makes the resulting text presentation much more enticing. But since it’s part of Google Docs and not really a specific-OCR app, it doesn’t have as much versatility as the other apps described above. It saves text directly to Google Docs, so if you need the text elsewhere, you’ll have to manually copy and paste. There’s also a selection of document scanning apps available on Android, but these are not truly OCR. Rather than convert text on a picture into editable text, most of them turn it into a PDF document. That means you have no capacity to edit the text or use it with any of your other apps such as SMS and any document editors. However, this can be a useful functionality if you’re looking to capture details and email them in the form of PDF. CamScanner is just about the most awesome document scanner there is for now. You can send the resulting PDF to multiple apps, including Google Docs and Dropbox. Another decent app is Document Scanner , which lets you use the OCR capabilities of Evernote and Google Docs, but isn’t quite as fast or effective as Goggles. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-EodIZRt3-vM/V7BY6uN-xII/AAAAAAAAFck/h_byunoI46k/1471174527952.jpg A Screenshot from Facebook converted to text https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-qaX1fbXhR0Y/V7BY8-8xlbI/AAAAAAAAFco/DllmiJg-SvQ/1471174565287.jpg Handbill converted to text https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-OAOyhOr1on4/V7BY-c9-16I/AAAAAAAAFcs/3oBcF_lx05s/1471174608380.jpg. Gangstar Vegas ( a sequel to Gangstar Rio City of Saints) is one of
the best Gameloft adventure games on Android with superb
graphics. I downloaded this game a few days ago and I really
loved the missions and the storyline. Every game has its hard side.
I got to an extent that before I could move to the next mission
without upgrading my star level, I had to buy the mission. To cut a very long story short, I ran out of cash in the game and I really didn't want to play the side missions because it'll take a lot of time. I decided to search for a modified version with unlimited cash and guess what... I found it.. This makes the game much easier but still challenging. Let me add an extra tip. Just for fun you could steal, sports cars, planes from the airport or even fighter jets from the army base and sell to gain some cash. Don't worry I won't reveal the places to find them, you'll have to look for it. (lol)..seriously I've dropped enough Spoilers.. Enjoy the mod.. HAVING DIFFICULTY MAKING THE GAME WORK. Android is the world’s leading mobile platform, and it’s stacked with massive tools and configuration options. You probably are using the bigger chunk of these tools and options, but there are some others that are hidden from plain sight. These are actually features that you can use to make your android phone work better for you. Take a look… 1. Use Android Device Manager to remotely secure your device It’s a know fact that many people aren’t using Android Device Manager to remotely secure their smartphone. This is one of those important tools that can bring a lot of useful functionality to your device, including things like malware scanning and account sync. You’ll be able to ring, track, lock or wipe data on your smartphone in the case you lose it. 2. Screen recording A few years ago , you had to root your Android phone to be able to make use of the platform’s advanced features. But Android has slowly improved over time. From Lollipop 5.0, screen recording is supported. You just need to install the AZ Screen Recorder to take advantage of it. Screen recording gives you an MP4 video file of whatever’s happening on your screen. 3. Configure system animations Your android smartphone is probably already fast enough, but you can make things even more better with this little tweak. Navigate to system settings, then About>Software Information>More>Build number . Tap on the build number at least 7 times until you get a confirmation that you’re now a developer. This brings the Developer Options menu in the main settings list. Navigate to the Developer Options and scroll down to Drawing , then Window animation scale , Transition animation scale, and finally Animator duration scale . These animations cover up lags as the system catches up. By default, they are set to 1x. But you really don’t need slow settings on a fast phone. So set it to 0.5x to get a snappier experience. 4. Leverage Smart Lock Of course, there’s no understating the importance of securing your phone. But if you’re the one handling it, there’s no point having to deal with a complicated screen lock each time you get it out of your pocket. This feature displays an easy swipe screen lock whenever it’s safe to do that. But how does it just know? It uses options such as Trusted Face, on-body detection, Trusted Devices, and Trusted Location. At the very minimum, all Android handsets have Trusted Location and Trusted Devices. Just like Android Device Manager, Smart Lock is delivered to Android handsets through Play Services. However, some manufacturers hide smart lock a number of levels deep in privacy settings or advanced security. You need to look it up and configure Google Play Services as a ‘trust agent’ in order to take advantage of Smart Lock. |
haywire1:The first thing you should check is what is actually consuming the battery. Open your Settings menu and look for a Battery or Power option; within this you should find Battery usage. Here you'll see battery consumption broken down into the various apps and services running on your phone. If there is a particular app that is consuming a lot of power - which can be the case with older third-party apps that haven't been optimised for newer OSes - kill it. If things don't improve following its uninstallation then you can always reinstall it. There is also the well-known Android OS bug, which causes a lot of battery drain for no apparent reason. Some have pinned it down to the wakelock, which essentially prevents your phone from idling and saving power, thus consuming a lot of battery. To help prevent this battery drain, some users suggest disabling 'Back up my data'. To disable this option, you need to locate your Back up section within your Android settings. Depending on the phone you have it can vary from its location. Once you've found the option, disable it and test the results. If there are still problems, you can always try to wipe your phone's cache (not factory reset!) - Whereby wiping the cache clears old, unused and unwanted background data that's not being used - don't worry, as long as you wipe the cache only, you won't lose any data. To do this, you have to switch off your phone and enter recovery mode, by pressing up (or down) on your volume rocker and the power button simultaneously. We suggest looking online on how to enter recovery options for your particular phone, as it depends from different phone manufacturers. Once you've entered the recovery look for the option to clear your system cache (again, not factory reset) - and then reboot your phone. Hopefully, this will solve your wakelock issues. Also a factory reset may solve the problem. Be sure to back up anything on your phone before you take this step, if you choose to do so. |

Wikipedia cannot be hacked... Now If you don't understand how Wikipedia works just keep quiet. Wikipedia articles are edited by top contributors and after approval the modification appears on the page. It's not an account that can be hacked. Haba.. Seriously, though I'm a Tech Blogger. I'm getting tired of entertainment bloggers that don't know how something as simple as Wikipedia works. So Wikipedia don turn social network account wey person dey hack.. Smh |
