The night data plans previously released by MTN has been cancelled.
This was confirmed by a reply to a tweet I sent to them. The night
plans initially seemed too good to be true. *198# no longer works
because it has been blocked







However the N25 night plan still works, simply send Night to 131
I really hope they reactivate the plans soon.

If it doesn't? How come I subscribed last Friday @5pm,checked my data balance at 7.05pm discovered that 700mb gone without any download, streaming or heavy browsing usage. Before God and man I only visited NL within that period. Though received some notifications alert like BBM, whatsapp, telegram and Gmail, but I'm 100% certain those cannot accumulate to 700mb. Never, mind you, I'm not new in Android usage. Anyway it's a warning sha.

Recently, MTN upgraded their systems and released new data plans. If
you really want to enjoy data on MTN. You have to be on MTN pulse. In
order to get 1gb @ N500 you have to be on the pulse tariff plan.
Dial *406*1# to Migrate to pulse if you are not on pulse.
Once you have done that.
Dial *406*2# you'll see something like
1.500mb weekly deal
(100% deal zone)
Select 1. If you don't see the 100% it means
your Sim is not eligible.
To check your data bundle Balance dial
*131*4#. Have a great weekend .

MTN will be launching its 4G LTE Network in selected
Nigerian cities in July. They are going to do this by using the 800MHz
frequency they secured from CDMA network, Visafone earlier this year.
At the end of
this year, they should have about 1,500 LTE sites transmitted with fibre
optics cables.


According to MTN CEO, Mr. Ferdinand Moolman, Visafone subscribers
will port to the MTN network so they can clean up their
frequency and launch the LTE services.
The chosen cities for this launch have been selected as a result of
MTN’s analysis of data usage across the country. They haven’t
disclosed what cities these are so we’ll just have to wait and
see.
While it’s great that a top Telecommunications mobile network is
releasing LTE services in
Nigeria, I’m just wondering why they didn’t release this
earlier. Nigeria is definitely one of their largest markets but it seems

which launched their LTE service in April , and they don’t want to
be left behind. Other Networks will have to join Soon to keep up with
