May these elections just come and pass. I'm tired of these statements from all sides and parties pitting Nigerians against Nigerians.

And what is wrong with GMB supporting his ambition? ? Some of you need to take a cue from Rochas. He is a bridge-builder who has the requisite qualities to be President of this country one day.
How many of you built bridges once upon a time so long ago when there were Igbo presidential candidates?

I think the most igbos are not really interested in politics. Whoever rules, no wahala as long as the igbos have peace in their domain and they can do their business peacefully, they are ok. One important thing you should know is that everyone cannot vote one party, but the winner of the presidential race must carry everyone and evey region along. Don't we have democracy again?

If the Oba actually said what was alleged, I don't support it. However, I don't think the youth wing of Ohaneze should be giving an Oba such an ultimatum.

SirShymexx:
Obviously, everyone sane person knows he went about it the wrong way.

But hey, you can't tell a grown ar.se man, especially the custodian of the land/culture/tradition how to act.
Don't deviate please - I wasn't talking about the Oba.

My comment was how funny it is that APC's slogan 2 weeks ago was change and now, they've modified to continuity.

You quoted me and explained with a very articulate construction of words how the change in the centre also means change in Lagos even if APC wins.

That was when I replied saying that I'm not surprised there's a ready justification for that turn.

I was not commenting about the Oba
PoliticsRe: Guber Poll: Oba Of Lagos Reads Riot Act To Igbo... The Sun by maum: 2:30pm On Apr 06, 2015
SirShymexx:
Well, technically, the change transcends to Lagos since it has always been in opposition to the center. And this will be the first time Lagos and the center will be governed by the same political party.

Change right there for you - the state can't be in opposition forever.
Of course there'll always be smart, intelligent ways, the perfect words and an articulate way of constructing sentences to explain it, right?
PoliticsRe: Guber Poll: Oba Of Lagos Reads Riot Act To Igbo... The Sun by maum: 1:59pm On Apr 06, 2015
SirShymexx:
This isn't about being partisan or non-partisan. I believe he explained the reason for his choice in the article - folks just decided to sensationalise the crude threats he made.

He's the custodian of the land and he's still on the throne of his ancestors, and future generations. So, he wants the best for Lagos. Based on all the massive projects going on in Lagos at the moment, I believe they have all agreed that continuity and aligning with a favourable center would be the best option for the state to get things done (he said that explicitly in the article). However, it seems Igbos are hell-bent on derailing that cause of action, hence the threat.

If I were Igbo - based on this threat, especially when the two candidates are both Yorubas - I'd take time out to think deeply. Imagine what will happen when there's a strong Igbo candidate? You don't want to imagine that, do you? These Yoruba folks aren't smiling right now, and it seems you have pushed them to the wall. Act right!
Just funny that APC's slogan was change before and two weeks after, it's continuity

Right or no right, that's story. Constitutional or unconstitutional, that's manmade. YOU JUST CANNOT GO TO ANOTHER MAN'S HOUSE AND WANT TO DICTATE FOR HIM!
The gods, the ancestors, the palace, the elders and the people of the land have chosen Ambode and any sabotage will be a call to chaos. Simple as ABC!
Dictate?

Someone trying to exercise one of his rights as a Nigerian (right to vote and be voted for) is now dictating because s/he voted?
FamilyRe: Where Should You Build Your First House (city Or Village)? by maum: 10:35pm On Apr 04, 2015
Edoblakky:
This is the reason many live in towns hoping that one day war will break out. I've started building here in Lagos because my house rent is in millions. My dad has a big house in the village to accommodate us all during festivities so I'm not under any pressure to build yet. But when I've finished building in town, I might consider building in the village. But my house in town will be far lavishly finished than the one that I may build in the village. I spent virtually all my time in town and only seldom visit the village.
What I take out of your post is that you're lucky your dad built a big house that can accommodate you all.
But this is hoping that when you and your brothers start getting married, everyone will have their own quarters?

I don't know why even till now, some people are talking down this action of Goodluck like it's nothing no one could have done, like he didn't have any other choice.

How many incumbent APC members handed over peacefully after one term?

We'll watch and see how it'll be handed over in the next 4 years.

Goodluck, may you always have good luck in your endeavours

PoliticsRe: Obama Accused Of Aiding Boko Haram In Order To Help Buhari Win Elections by maum: 10:17pm On Mar 27, 2015
And some people wonder why a certain group of people aren’t comfortable with this man.

True. We know there's a lot of politicking right now and people will say whatever to play to the emotive side of the citizens and attract votes to themselves.

I am one of those who believe Jonathan hasn't done enough to get my vote to carry on for another 4 years. I would've loved change; have been looking forward to it for a long time.

Buhari is a disciplinarian; I think most Nigerians agree on that, even Jonathan's supporters.

But if change is in the guise of someone I don't know if I will ever feel safe under, someone whose followers are fanatics that after the last elections, he failed to control and they went ahead to do all sorts. If change is in the guise of someone I'll always wonder about..."am I sure, am I sure"? Then in that case, forgive us our fellow compatriots who clamour for change with us...if change is in that guise, then the common man I know is in this case, better than the angel people are trying to get me know.

...Great lofty heights attain
To build a Nation where peace and justice shall reign.

God bless Nigeria!
