On the Beer Parlor, a Sunday radio show on continental FM 102.3, this same position was taken by a certain Alistar, who is a known Amaechi and PMB fanatic. He was overwhelmingly berated by his co-commentators and call in viewers. This need to politicize every issue, so as not to rock the boat during the dispensation of those we support has to stop. This is the same way Boko Haram was underrated and ignored by the FG and security agencies, until they exploded right in front of our very own eyes. The OP needs to stop this naming and shaming, and allow the government make its own decisions, without interference and meddling of people like him. Ngenekwenu please stop this now, for the interest of the nation. |
I warned this would happen. Sources from within the house had already informed us of the showdown |
For the survival of our nation, Dasuki should burn the tape and face the FG in courts over his treasonable and corruption charges. Nigerian can not survive a rescheduled presidential election. |
Information just reaching us indicates that there is a fresh plot to upstage and remove the majority leader of the house of representatives, due to his boisterous decision to boycott the inauguration of the committees, as a mark of protest against the committee sharing formula. This move by the Gbajabiamila has irked the speaker and many of his supporters who see it as the final straw, and so have hatched a plan to remove him from his position as majority leader. An inside source told us that text messages were sent to the phones of various members of the house on the strategy to be deployed today to oust the majority leader. Watch out for an fireworks today at the house of reps. http://upshotreports.com/upshot/gbajabiamila-loyalists-boycott-as-dogara-inaugurates-committees/ http://dailyindependentnig.com/2015/11/house-committee-chairmanship-dogara-breaks-gbajabiamilas-camp/ |
Daniel Bwala a legal practitioner, and adjunct lecturer at the Nigerian law school in Abuja, was today featured in our Abuja studios, on our breakfast show, Sunrise Daily via Skype. He raised a few pointers on the mistakes made by the tribunal * According to section 140, subsection 2, only in the case of a candidate not scoring the right amount of votes, and still declared the winner, can the court declare the runner up the winner of the election * The federal high court ruling that supposedly expunged section 140, is open to the interpretations of a court ruling and so can be contested at another court * The argument of the ineffectuality of section 140 puts the powers of the legislature against the judiciary * The necessity of the court of appeal to obey the section, due to the need to have the electorate decide the winner of an election, and not the courts * The PDP did conduct primaries, but INEC's testimony is just what the tribunals decided on * INEC is solely to blame for the inclusion of Darius Ishiaku, in the list of candidates, and so the tribunal should have looked at the character of the witness(INEC) alongside the testimony * INEC is bound by the electoral act, to screen out and reject candidates who it finds unqualified for elections he intends to conduct, so therefore it should have stopped the PDP candidate at various stages before now * The decision of the tribunal to neglect the insecurity argument puts the legitimacy of the tribunal in question, based on the fact that the Tribunal sitting in ABUJA was also because of the same security challenges * The argument that if fresh elections are conducted, the PDP would not be qualified to field a candidate due to the expiration of the 21 day rule is open to the intepretations of another court of law This and many more forms the opinion of Daniel to suggest that PDP do have good grounds for appeal. http://www.bwalaandco.com/?page_id=71 |
We have to stop this kind of praise singing politics |
This news piece is a day old. Lolaxavier you are losing your edge. Please step up. |
Innocent until proven guilty |
As Richard bolt, once wrote to praise the 15th century chancellor of England, Sir Thomas More, I too will ascribe to GEJ the title of A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS. According to some of my sources, the ex President is being prepared for a International organization job. They further stated that this was the reason for the nod of foreign organizations and bodies to allow PMB, the grace to enter Aso rock. |
I am afraid for this dispensation. With the high number of judicial jagbajantis being displaced under this government, this government might not see 2016. It was a true blow to the judiciary today, when the FG intended to dictate to the court that they had witnesses but could not produce them, but rather would relay their testimony to the court. I am truly scared for this country, my colleagues think the same way too. |
kahal29:Section 140 still stands. Stop spreading this misinformation. |
dustmalik:Stop misleading people with this. The section still stands and has in no way been expunged from the act. The court for its own personal reasons chose to ignore that and rule otherwise |
Mike Ozekhome now live on Ray Power's 100.5 fm , The Political platform |
dustmalik:Browse through the pics I put beside my writeup.
|
dustmalik:You need to read the constitution. According to the constitution, such a scenario suggests that a rerun should have been ordered |
bolajJP007:He made no mention of the relocation of the tribunals. And also, the tribunals were moved when PMB became President' http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/185230-pdp-governors-condemn-relocation-of-rivers-taraba-akwa-ibom-states-tribunals-to-abuja.html |
dustmalik:He did. He didn't challenge the judgement of the court in regards to the nullification. He only raised objections to the fact that, according to the constitution, a fresh elections should have been ordered by the tribunal. |

Legal maestro and civil rights defender, Mike Ozekhome on our breakfast show, Sunrise daily, has slammed the Taraba state tribunal for its judgement, of awarding a certificate of return to the APC Taraba state gubernatorial candidate, Aisha Alhassan, after nullifying the elections that saw the PDP candidate Darius Ishiaku emerge victorious. The Tribunal nullified the elections, on the grounds that the said candidate was not a legal representative of the PDP at the election, and so the PDP fielded no candidate, and so therefore, the results of the election is null and void. The tribunal went on to order INEC to award a certificate of return to the APC candidate. But according to our guest, Mike Ozekhome, by the dictates of the constitution, INEC should have called for a fresh elections and not declare the APC candidate, who was the runner up, as the winner.
|
drberry:Precisely. He claims that by the constitution, the issue of PDP not presenting a certified candidate at the polls, should have resulted in the tribunal calling for a fresh election. |
dustmalik:After him, we will hear from another legal virtuoso. Stay tuned. |
He says by the constitution, INEC MAYor MAY (OPTIONAL)not witness a primary election done by a political party |
He says by the constitution, a fresh election should have been conducted |
He says Tribunal was wrong in ordering a certificate of return awarded to the APC candidate, Aisha Alhassan |
Mike Ozrkhome is currently explaining in our Abuja studio, shinning light on the mistakes made by the Taraba Tribunal. Follow the interview http://www.channelstv.com/2015/11/07/taraba-governorship-tribunal-set-to-deliver-judgement/ |
A new battle may be set to begin at the Senate, as the Senate president is presumed to have finished the compilation of the list of committees, those who would chair them, and those who would assist them. Ranking Senators in both sides of the divide are reported to have begun preparations for protesting, if they are given committees they see as demeaning to their status. As at last night, PDP senators, were said to have convened at the home of the former head of the senate, David Mark, to discuss and strategize over this issue. The Senate President is believed to have picked Wednesday as the day he would read the list on the floor of the house. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/11/tension-as-saraki-names-cttee-heads-deputies/ |
