Saraki has began the senate dealings for today |
Yesterday, the sokoto ministerial nominee, Aisha Abubakar was interviewed by the senate ethics committee, on account of the petition submitted by a sokoto women group, who claim she is not an indigene of Sokoto state, and so should be disqualified. When asked if she had any loyalty to any political party, she replied "no, being a serving public officer" http://www.africanexaminer.com/ministerial-screening-ethics-committee-submits-report-as-amaechi-aisha-abubakar-face-senate-screening/ But according to the section 147, subsection 5, of the Nigerian constitution: no person shall be appointed as a minister of the government of the federation, unless he is qualified for election as a member of the house of representatives. http://nigerian-constitution.com/chapter-6-part-1-section-147-ministers-of-federal-government/ The sokoto ministerial nominee probably is very ignorant of the constitution, and so can be forgiven for her apparent unintelligence, but the fact that her legal advisors, who should know better, did not deter her from making such an ignoble statement is shocking. It speaks volumes of how low our education system has become. It also shows the low IQ of APC members. The senate should reject her nomination, because if not, this ignorant woman will embarrass all women sometime in the future, in her capacity as a minister. |
Ex- president Jonathan arrived in dar-es-salaam yesterday, to lead the Common wealth election monitoring group, in the country's presidential elections. He was met at the airport by Nigeria's acting high commissioner to Tanzania, ALHAJI Salisu Umaru. Looking at the picture, I would say confidently he was more than a President, and truly, truly, " We do miss him, now that he is gone " http://www.frontiersnews.com/president-jonathan-in-tanzania/

tomakint:Stup1d wishful thinking |
I don't see this man getting that supposed soft landing. I won't be surprised, when the President sends a letter to the senate, asking for Amaechi's withdrawal from the list. |
I don't understand Nigerians. You say the PDP is corrupt, and is filled with thieves, and yet you are hoping to fill the APC, with the very thieves that you hate. Please if you believe in the Change mantra of your party, then stick with its members or do you want the white T-shirt of APC to become stained with the supposed dirt of the PDP. You are already complaining about Saraki, but you now want his deputy, Ekweremadu. APC, Grow up. |
Brilliant. How best to take the public spotlight away from the recent bomb attacks and the shameless, incompetent way our security system has fallen apart: simple, you arrest and interrogate a top dog in the opposition. Now everyone is talking about Akpabio, and NOONE is talking about the bomb blasts. Everyone has retreated to the trenches, and the major problem has been forgotten. I don't know who gives the president this sick ideas, but whoever, it is, he or she will rather the country burns, than give up their job. |
The blood of the innocent are on the President's hands. |
Its a shame that our nation has been reduced to a caged one, where you have to first call the NBC, and run your story through them, before releasing it to the public. I will share a secret with you. The supposed Lagos gas explosion was actually caused by an IED, and not a refrigerator as the Lagos state government will like you to believe. What we don't know, till this moment, is the source of the bomb. We had the story, and were about to run it on our 2pm news track, but we got a call just at 1:58 from the NBC, in which we were told not to release it to the public, in order not to create panic. Ever since that day, my conscience has judged me so much, that I saw this forum as the only way to expose the lies and ineptitude by this government. We are in trouble. |
I met Osinbanjo, for the first time at Covenant church, THE PLATFORM. I was able to get his attention, and engage in an interesting discussion with him. We talked about the situation of the country, and he told me about the need for a change in the political structure of our nation, little did I know I was talking to the next Vice president of our country. Flash forward to the October 1, at the same event a year later. I could no longer tell the similarly between the man I met a year ago and the man in the office. He had changed all his views, was now evasive, had an excuse for everything and refused to accept responsibility for any errors by him and his boss. In fact he was now, rather pompous and a bit arrogant. I'm afraid to say it, but truth be told, the Vice President has lost his way. May God help us. |
FFKfuckedBIANCA:Do you know my history. Or do you know who gave me my name. You talk like you don't understand how yorubas name their children. If you rather believe every Yoruba indigene hates Igbo's, then be my guest. I am from Ondo state and my names are Maupe Daramola bisoye ****** |
151487made:I will like to believe you are not skilled or learned in the art of writing Yoruba. Because, if not, it means you are not Yoruba, and are just using this incidence to cause a rift in the country. Any fool, can see you didn't complete your sentence. You asked for my name, and the name of a site in Ondo, that is incoherent babble to me. |
If true, then its a damn shame. The government needs to task the jolly playing Americans to get serious, and start pulling their weight in this struggle, if they truly want to help us meet the President's deadline. |
151487made:I am from Ondo state, take it or leave it. Even a IBO man who has only spent one year in Lagos will understand your poor understanding of the Yoruba language. I already told you my name. Please learn Yoruba well, before you start making grammatical errors with it. |
Bekwarra:You might not know me. But the thousands of tweeters who follow me, do |
Lobeez:Sen George Akume, was featured today on the Sunrise daily show. He was asked, among other questions, to comment on the postponement of Amaechi's screening, which was originally slated for Wednesday, to an undisclosed date. The Senator, on and of camera could not give a clear and concrete reason for the postponement. When tasked further, he joked that Amaechi better release the lion, or he could end up like Ahmed Ibeto. |
homosapien:Maybe you missed my name. I am not Igbo, I am from Ondo state. |
MrMcJay:As you lay your bed so you lie in it. GEJ made his mistakes, and has since learnt from them, and has moved on. Should the President repeat the same mistakes, so that he can feel some sense of judgement and vindication. Besides, the President, is just trying to make a case for his intended removal of Sola Omole, DG of NTA, and consequently, replace him with a northern beneficiary. |
151487made:Because I don't want that, for my people and me, that's why I don't want us to follow Tinubu and AKANDE blindly into a bad dysfunctional relationship with the north, who only want to exploit our weakness and bias. If this happens, we will have to crawl to the Igbos for help, and we will have to pay a huge price, for them to help us out of any stup1d agreement we made with the north. |
So we have resorted to begging the BOKO HARAM. How contradictory, the President makes a show of force when visited by the US commander of Africom, but his military officers go around his back to beg citizens of Adamawa not to play for the BOKO HARAM. We don't even know the recruitment exercise of the BOKO HARAM, and we are dropping leaflets to God knows who. |
OdenigboAroli:Maybe you didn't read the story well. There is a huge misconception being circulated around that the said Igbo royal, entered the palace of the Obama dressed as a king. That is a big lie. When the Lagos Igbo traditional royals paid a visit to the Oba of Lagos, was there anything different in their regalia, from the Eze, ndigbo Akure, No. Then why is his case different. I believe this is a clever distraction, to throw the people of the evil intentions of the Fulani herdsmen. That is the real danger, not loyal and friendly tenants, who pay rent for the spaces allotted to them. |
I have it on good authority, that these are silly lies coming from, the President. I can recall, more than one occasion, when I tuned into the NTA and saw an advert of the President's electoral mandate. On the contrary, the television station, known as TVC, rarely aired an advert of the PDP. For the APC, to do well, the President needs to let go of his bigotry, and stop dividing the country along ethnic lines. No leader, be it military or civilian, ever succeeded in ruling our country by promoting disunity. |
Yorubas pretending to be Igbos, you mean. As a Yoruba woman of high repute, am afraid to say that Tinubu and AKANDE are leading the ODUDUWA nation once more into the grips of the Hausa/fulanis. When this happens, we will once more turn to our Igbo brothers for help. And, as usual, the help comes at a high price. |
Enelamah as finance minister Fashola as FCT minister Look at how people want to make up lies and dreams. Both portfolios, are going straight to the hands of the north. |
When the top man, in the state is too busy throwing parties, and dancing shoki, in the stead of actual governance. That is one reason, I don't agree with the style of governance displayed by Fayose, they both can't for one minute, stop acting, and be real. |
erinalex:Your mother raised your siblings better than you |
Akinrogun:Let me repeat the phrase, I'd rather DIE, than join the lying, thieving APC. |
seunmsg:Then why put it on the list of banned items in the first place. I am sure you were fortunate enough, to witness Kachikwu's lecture on the dangers of the inconsistency of the senate on the PIB, during the ministerial screening. And besides, haven't you heard of the infant industry argument. And also there was never a total ban on rice production. The ban was partial. |
They don't have to summon him to know the truth. Its obvious, to even the blind and ignorant, that the CG of customs must have a stake in the smuggling cartel. Why else would a product, which is slowly getting a standard local substitute, but needs government support, is all of a sudden allowed to be imported into the country. |
You are very wrong, I am from Ondo state, and I can tell you authoritatively that the Igbo's have a very cordial and trusting relationship with people of Ondo state. In fact my mother rents out a flat and shop to an Igbo man. He has been her tenant, for 5 years and counting, and not once have we had any issues with him. If you ask me, this is a clever way of throwing off public attention from the Fulani herdsmen and FALAE issue. This is most likely a ploy of BUHARI and his bigotry government, to take out of the public spotlight, their sick plans to enslave the nation. With this, no one will notice when the herdsmen will attack FALAE once more. Nigerians open your eyes. |
This isn't a surprise. The APC is now a platform for brazen thieves to remodel themselves under the smokescreen of CHANGE. With TIMPRIYE Silva and Amaechi holding sway, Abubakar shouldn't bother himself. He will be allowed to contest, but the PDP and Idris Wada will beat him silly. |
