kaylawlah:Be a man and stand by your candidate. You want Audu, so stand by him. Do not attempt to fool anyone, because you would be fooling only you. |
I can confirm to you, that the soldiers were killed in an ambush, and have not returned as the COD claims. Our inside sources have been able to confirm what actually happened. |
Very good. Serves Dan Ali right. |
TRUTHTOPOWER:Complete and utter rubbish NOI, for a start, is an ardent believer in free market policies and a competitive market that leans more to the promotion of SME's and startups. She frowned at monopolistic markets * NOI supported policies that were inclusive and at a grassroots level, which allowed for the contributions of everyone, irrespective of their political, ethnic and religious affiliations. It is on record that she is the first finance minister to publish the FAAC accounts on a monthly basis. Kachukwu has recently taken this initiative a step further * NOI was known for turning her back on those infamous middlemen who are known for taking a kobo out of every naira made by the government. Kemi, on the other hand is seen as a stooge and conduit pipe for a onetime President of Nigeria(OBJ). It is common knowledge that under her stewardship as the commissioner for finance in Ogun state, there was a lot of intentional financial mismanagement * Until the Zero budget is applied and it has ran for the period of four years, we can't truly know the merits and dismerits of it. The TSA has recently showed some flaws, despite how celebrated it was prior to its inception * It is in the period of lack and recession, that financial misappropriation and economic blunder is most prevalent * If you think that JP Morgan and Barclays will not affect us, then you are living in the stone ages. Try running a business without any online advertisement and judge its progress alongside a business with FB, twitter and Instagram accounts, and see the difference I would suggest you read Adam smith's "Wealth of nations" before making any claims. |
The ex President did his best, irrespective of the outcome. Let us forget the elections and concentrate on the impact of this government on our lives. |
Alphaoscar:If you don't understand this. then there is no point continuing this debate |
olatunji21:It's baseless and unfounded, to you, even without reading the report of the investigation ( if it is conducted) |
OrlandoOwoh:please, by all means, do go into details. You have the floor. |
Though I admire her philanthropy and her quest to protect the girl child, I must ask where was she prior to her father's electoral victory and also another question would be, will she continue with this new hobby, after the end of her father's tenure. Also, this should be for her personal twitter followers and FB friends. It has no business, being in mainstream news. |
olatunji21:irrespective of the source of the allegation, the issue demands an investigation, even if for the sake of formality. That is the hallmark of democracy, everyone deserves to be heard. |
Alphaoscar:But NOI is to you a failure, because she became the minister of finance, at a time when we were in the G7 as the world's second largest economy and after 300 years of uninterrupted democracy. |
Nellybii:Without listening to Fayose's opinion, you have already passed judgement on the issue, and have branded who is right and who is wrong. This is the problem with this new administration and its supporters. No policy or idea on this earth, is without its loopholes, side effects and dismerits. let us understand what is right and what is wrong about the TSA, before we declare it a success |
The only thing I can pick from this TSA scandal-is that irrespective, of who was at the helm of affairs when Remita( software or company) was sneaked into the TSA arrangement-is that the president should have first ordered a critical analysis of the policy before approving it. The President was wrong in rushing into the approval of the policy, without consulting the major stakeholders in the financial sector. |
In the same interview, he claimed the ex President was also interested in getting to the bottom of the scandal and that the president wanted to punish him for being truthful and honest. Your Eminence, which is which. The only reason why he was stopped from becoming the ADB President, was because the ex President realised he was dishonest, untrustworthy and an irrefutable kleptomaniac. That is why, the ex President and NOI made sure they pushed another more reliable and trustworthy candidate for the position. How would an organisation like the ADB, allow a tainted individual like the emir, to head their organization http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/02/lamido-sanusi-end-kirikiri/ Mr Emir, let bygones be bygones. Don't let history to come back and stab you in the back |
ayox2003:Unfortunately for her, as you stated correctly, her appointment was at the behest of Obasanjo. Anyone who chooses to work on the orders and to the wishes of the one time president is doomed to fail. The problem with Obasanjo, is that he talks too much and does very little. He claims to know everybody that is everybody, in the international community, but actually is a naysayer to only a few global shakers. Another problem is his insatiable greed and irrational lust for control. Obasanjo will make Kemi do and sign unholy and ridiculous contracts which at the tail end of this administration, will reduce Aunty Kemi to a laughable commodity. Aunty Kemi, is very weak and docile, and unable to say it as it is. This was the primary reason for her failure as the commissioner for finance in Ogun state. She is not like NOI, who was bold enough to follow the books and thus, sanitised the Financial sector, without caring whose ox was gored. Unfortunately, there are those who will not listen to reason, but will rather wait till the end of four years before they see the undeniable truth. Hopefully, the President will realise his mistake, and will tell Obasanjo to let him be, and so will reshuffle his cabinet six months from now. |
danjumakolo:Clarity |
ekseel:On the contrary, I know her more than I am stating. Also, why didn't you list her entire CV. The fact is that though, she may have worked in some respective firms in the UK, she does not have the level of influence that goes with such a position as the minister of finance. That is a fact that has been pointed out by major players in the financial sector. Also, if you think that the only requirement for succeeding in the financial world is competence, then am afraid you know nothing about global and public finance. Six months down the line, you will see what I am trying to point out. |
tobimillar:The problem with our democracy is that we like to look at only the centre. We expect everything to come from ABUJA and not our respective state governments and Local governments. GEJ, saw this and tried to fix it by decentralising power, and giving most branches and agencies of the government autonomous authority to act in their own dictates, though still in line with the FG. This power was utilised by some, and abused by others. But in all, the Nigerian people failed to realise and utilize this opportunity to ensure that our democracy develops and moves to another stage. Also, only a fool, will underestimate the strength of his opponents and will choose to cross them, knowing fully well that in the long run, they might actually regroup and destroy him. Obama with all the powers at his disposal, could not bring to the books, the big bankers and major hedge fund players, even after he promised to do that, if elected. That is politics for you, if you think PMB, will get rid of all the corrupt people, then I suggest you start preparing for a major disappointment. |
OrlandoOwoh:This is my first and only moniker |
eyesofgod:Debt does not necessarily connote failure. Even the almighty Chinese suffered a lull in their economic growth, and were forced to increase their interest rates. Everyone was hit by the global economic meltdown, including us. Am afraid, you are the one reading from the wrong text. |
Even though Omatseye wanted to write something praiseworthy of the ex president, shame and disgrace still made him paint the President black with lies of the inefficiency of the past administration's social and economical programmes. The past administration had its faults, true, but economic failure was not one of them. |
Aside the over hyped and propaganda War against Indiscipline spin story, what else did Idiagbon achieve. The answer is nothing. We should be careful not to shower this government with encomiums and praises, before it actually starts to do something. We mustn't fall for cheap fictitious stories like our parents did in 1984. We must task this government, to start to actually govern, and not to lead, by bullying reporters into creating and publishing lies and mountain if lies. This propaganda must stop. |
tobimillar:Do you think it would have been possible, for GEJ, a SS to have started corruption charges against a Northerner from a prestigious family. This was the same reason the emir of Kano, Sanusi, got away with the embezzlement of large sums of money through the print and mint scandal. Besides, since the EFCC, had verifiable evidence against the CCT chair, why didn't they start proceedings against him. They are an autonomous body, and are empowered by the constitution to bring to the book anyone, who has engaged in financial misappropriation. Why must the head of the EFCC, be told by the President to do his job. |
its obvious Nigeria ha been scheduled for attacks. I hope our security agencies and the FG are monitoring activities. Christmas is around the corner. |
if you look closely at the picture, you will notice that both of the men flanking Jonathan, share similar facial structures. So obviously they are related, perhaps brothers. And so could be brothers with a height of 6ft 5 or 6. I have relatives who are blessed with such height and they make my brothers who are about 6ft, look like dwarfs. |
Anyone festering himself with the sole campaign of rebranding and repackaging the PDP, for his own selfish interest will be utterly disappointed, come 2018. The real major players and influential shareholders of the party, will wait till the appropriate time to come back in the fold and steer the party back into winning ways. Chief Dokpesi is merely wasting his time and his resources, for the PDP, no matter the condition it finds itself, is too cumbersome and complex to be hijacked by anyone or any cabal. GEJ, will resume party activities when he feels the time is right, anything before that is DOA. My sources denote, that in 2019 Ngozi Okonji Iweala will run for President on the platform of the PDP, and on May 28 2019, will take up office as the first elected female President of Nigeria. NOI 2019. |
I hope you are watching CNN. Please Ngenekwenu, watch your mouth |
If that is the case then the APC will not return in 2019. |
This thread is pure rubbish. The Obanikoro comment was racist, idiotic and nonsensical. The commentator suffers from inferiority complex |
cutestcee:So in essence Christopher Kolade, agreed to be a dormant chairman and partner in the company. That still makes him liable in this engagement. Let go of your tribalist hatred, and maybe you will see things clearly |
This could have been avoided if the President had done a full background check on all the areas of the TSA arrangement, so as to know its pros and con's. But instead of ordering an empirical analysis of the TSA act, he rushed into it blindly and ended up crediting the account of System specs. If not for the diligence of the CBN Govenor, this sordid arrangement would have continued unabated. This is why Okonji Iweala wanted a stop-gap measure applied to the implementation of the TSA. |
But perhaps that much is clear that no one in Abuja is really interested in anything that can move the nation forward, especially anything as nebulous as education, and more especially what needs to be spent on it. It tell a lot about the government that, with the exception of the civil servants who, strictly speaking are not part of it, there is no one in its upper echelon who knows what government really is or what its processes are. And it tells a lot about the lack of seriousness in public life that the Senate president will call a group headed by Chief Gamaliel Onosode as people who don’t know what they are doing. If this is the expression of gratitude by the government for his three years of painstaking negotiations on its behalf, it leaves much to be desired; but if it is merely an expression of the appreciation of the situation by the Senate president, it desires much to be left. We hope the new minister of education, Adamu Adamu can bring to the dilapidated, moribund educational sector, those statues he wrote about with such passion during the 2013 ASUU strike. |
