barcanista:Keep deceiving yourself that you dont know that APC is as corrupt as PDP. Or, don't u live in the country? Or aren't you aware of their acquired properties in town? Or do you see any difference in the lifestyles of leaders of APC and PDP? How much does Akpabio has that Tinubu cannot match? But the question is- how did they make their billions overnight? That is the explanation they must give us whether in PDP or APC. This topic is just a tip of the iceberg of corruption in Nigeria. So, nobody should pretend to be surprised. |
berem:Tinubus money!!So, that's why you follow and defend him. It exposes the motive for ur posts on Nairaland. And u are one of the people posting on Nairaland to condemn corruption. Yorubas say that,"both a thief and he that shares in his loot are both thieves." Gods judgement is not only on thieving political class but also on the commoners who connive with them to deceive their likes after collecting crumbs from the corrupt politicians. The corrupt men or women sustain themselves in power by setting the poor against the poor!! There might not be hope for Nigeria because the rich will always find some compromising youth and poor to use to frustrate and derail aspirations of revolution of all the other youth and poor. |
Obiagelli:What about the accounts of the old council men? Were their accounts never audited? To the best of my knowledge this is the first time APC in Lagos is auditing accounts. If they did audit the old accounts what happened to those indicted? Curiously, i have noticed that not one elected official in Lagos has ever been indicted or prosecuted for corruption for the past 15years APC has ruled Lagos. Or can u name any Commissioner, State House of Assembly member, LG Chairman, Councillor ever indicted and prosecuted in Lagos for corruption for the past 15years. Yet,we all pretend that corruption is Nigeria's No 1 albatross. (hope u know am not an adversary but only engaging u in national discourse). |
Obiagelli:Yes,thumps up to them .I guess your people in APC must have tried . It has taken them 15years of lagos ruler ship to know they have to audit accounts. So that's your definition of Progressiveness. If it took them close to 16 years to audit ordinary Lagos accounts(which is one state), i wonder how long they will take to audit the whole countrys accounts if they get there in 2015-maybe 16*36years(sorry, am a mathematician). That means we will entering another "Irin ajo omo Isreali"(a never ending journey to the promised land). |
barcanista:Why didnt the Apc forward their letter too to EFCC, ICPC concerning the Diezanis $20b accusation. Why did they and Sanusi make it a media war? |
walemoney007:Left to me Easter and Christmas should be scrapped. Religion is a personal thing but we are institutionalizing it in Nigeria even more than those we learn it from. I am a christian but i know my bible did not say i must have an holiday to celebrate Jesus' birth or his death. I can celebrate him in my heart, in my room and it will be acceptable. i don't need an official holiday to do that. For hundreds of years the Europeans and Americans were way ahead of China. Just last week the world bank said China has overtaken America as the world largest economy. That is a nation that means business! They worked hard to catch up with America. Even in Nigeria haven't u seen the way the Chinese run their cottage companies here. We need to learn from them. That is the direction we youths should go, not promoting all these religious sentiments. You want subsidies on everything without working. You want half of the working year devoted to religious holidays, abi? With all the religious holidays we have in this country how come we are not progressing as fast as those other nations that don't care about religious holidays. Your politicians know what to use to preoccupy you - they allow u to go to church or mosque where u will be preoccupied with unseen things. That way u wont have the time and energy to question their misrule. Nigerian youths need to wake up!!! |
Beehshorp:You suppose go ask am for sambisa forest . Not on this forum. |
oboman:Thanks, my brother. Leaders that have nothing to offer hide under religion. Compare Nigeria to developed countries. At a time when we should spend more days working to increase our productivity and catch up with the developed world some leaders are promoting religious holidays."My people perish for lack of knowledge." In what ways does that put food on the table of Osun citizens? |
CoCoLav:When u people should be reading for your exams you are always on Nairaland taking sides. Now u want nairaland to help you protest. Tell us,which e-warior do u belong to- PDP or APC? Sorry oo. just kidding. |
barcanista:An elected government is accountable to the PEOPLE and not neccessarily to EFCC. So, that sketchy release is all an APC gov has to give after spending billions in 4years. Very pathetic progressivesssssssssssss!! |
Now i understand why people like this guy. He has the typical Yoruba word in his mouth, "omo agba". |
baccaspace:Which party gave u a foreign debt free? Was it not the same PDP? |
wolebanks:I like your observation. That is exactly my sentiments too. I first watched the mans interview a year or two ago on TV and i was impressed by his knowledge of sports generally. So, i was happy when i heard he has been made the NFF President. He is/was the Delta State Commissioner for Sports. Many of the athletes representing Nigeria now were products of Delta State vision and this man played a key role in that. The consistency of Delta State in National sports competitions also attest to this. He is quite articulate in his responses and from the way he talks you will know he knows about the job, not like that unconvincing Maigari. This Amaju man can handle the NFF.So for now i have confidence in his decisions. |
Nigerian education system still has a lot of work to do. Even those that attended university are simply literate but not educated. A witch indeed! |
chronique:Na wa oh. So youhave been tormented by witches and wizards before? Can you tell us the detention center? The names of your abducters. I guess they must be very dark-skinned. They are probably responsible for your joblessness. But pls, kindly furnish us with details so that the international community can help us wage war on them. |
hardywaltz:You cant distract us. We are focused. Amaechi must be held accountable for this fraud/mismanagement. |
brownlord1:How many years did u spend to get education up to university level? Maybe 21years+? Now it took u more than 25years investment for u to reduce the price of garri in ur life alone. But you want only NOI to reduce the price of garri for 170million people, you inclusive, in 4years. Whats the job of the other 35 states commissioners for finance? We have to start using that education our parents laboured to give us. |
OKDnigeria:Point of correction. There is nothing like Alaafin of Oyo State. He is simply the Alaafin of Oyo. |
Demdem:Fair enough! |
titoetal:Thanks for clearing the air before some people come with their 4th century mysterious interpretations. |
Demdem:Okaaaay, i now understand you. U mean when he was in PDP he had an unsound mind to conceive such a project but now that he is in APC his mind is now sane. So, the man he was in PDP is not the same now in APC ? And if tomorrow he decides to go back to PDP then his mind becomes unsound again. I really fancy your logic(sic..). U on the other hand really sound smaaaaaart indeed!! |
Ephemmm:For your info, politicians will always have an excuse for non-performance. Is Rivers the only state with so called 50% reduction of grants as u say? How come other states equally hit delivered on their own projects. Its all about management of resources, focus and self interest. Amaechi simply allowed his parochial interest override the interest of his Rivers people. He need not have gone the way he went. All his oratory skills did not put food on the table for Riverians. |
Excuses upon excuses. To me Amaechis statements is an admission of failure. Like the Yoruba elders say "only a lazy farmer uses his implement as an excuse." Amaechi was voted to deliver dividends of democracy to the people of his state and not otherwise. How he does it is his business. He chose a path that did not help the brief he was given by the people. In contrast, his neighbor Akpabio, as we speak initiated and completed his own major projects. I heard two days ago on TV that Akpabio just finished a new International Stadium and wants Nigeria's next match played there. Meanwhile, Ameachi and Akpabio both had 8years to finish their projects.Since last year Akpabio has been commissioning one project or another while Amaechi is busy giving excuses. Amaechi had 8years to finish the monorail project but couldn't deliver. In management nobody cares how you do the job, what matters is that you get the job done. Ameachi has failed to get the job done! The only award that Amaechi merits is the most talkative governor in Nigeria. Indeed, empty drums make the loudest noise. |
Orithsejafor had been at the forefront of negotiating peace in Nigeria long before now. Hr played some role in the return of peace to the ND. For those castigating Asari, mind u, he is a MOSLEM.He does not practice the same religion with Pastor Orithsejafor. |
Tundeajani:I hope you will be there on the streets to shout your supremacy of the law when the people of Ekiti start their revolution. All these pretentious and retrogressive interpretations of the law should be ready for the peoples will. Remember Egypt! The more than 30years law under Hosni Mubarak gave way to the peoples wishes albeit bloodily. Revolution gives power to the people to rewrite the law they want. |
mbhs139: You see, some of you have comprehension problem. In fact, credit should also be given to the doctors parents for giving birth to them and then to their friends for being there with them all these years, and then to their spouses for making them happy to handle ebola and then to their medical school lecturers who taught them medicine and then to their Secondary School teachers ... Oh, am tired. Many people to thank but NEVER Jonathan. Similar to the NBA/lawyers stickers i see around, 'Wetin Jonathan dey do self.' Some Nigerians are shallow thinkers. Can easily be manipulated by Fashola's simple political gimmicks. |
arresa: [s][/s]You are not being fair to the Federal govt efforts. You people just like politicizing everything thereby losing your objectivity and that was exactly how you over-politicised Boko Haram to its present level. How ebola entered Nigeria is irrelevant. What matters is that it was contained. For your information ebola just entered Texas in America. For people like you am sure it must be Obama's fault. Maybe Obama too will now have to resign as you would have asked Jonathan to do. For your confirmation check this link.http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2775608/CDC-confirms-Dallas-patient-isolation-testing-returning-region-plagued-Ebola-HAS-deadly-virus.html |
First, Fayemi conceded defeat only to later recant. With no pictures of the torn robe i refuse to believe. The propaganda concerning Ikedi Ohakin/ Rev Fathers beating readily comes to mind, only for penitence to be sought from God and the people after someone has used it to get electoral victory. And mind you the dramattis personae were priests. So let the source show pictures of the judge or its just another propaganda to paint the peoples choice, Fayose, in bad light. Unfortunately, all the propaganda against Fayose did not work before the elections and i dont see it work now. Fayoses will not be like Ikedi Ohakims - a case of mistaken identity. |
The Lagos State House of Assembly is the most docile in the world. Only getting involved in insignificant issues. Though they are the highest paid state parliamentarians in Nigeria, they are the least productive. They only rubber stamp whatever Fashola sends to them. No original initiatives, no oversight functions on the executives as is being done by House of Reps on Jonathan. They can not even enact the most important bill Lagos needs - the FOI. They should be held responsible for the corruption among Lagos politicians. If they pass the FOI Fashola will have no option than to comply. And to think the House membership is 100% APC, a supposedly progressive party, which is at the forefront of demand for accountability at the National level, cannot replicate same in its backyard. Its totally unacceptable! Now i understand the danger of a one-party state like Lagos. My problem is not with Fashola, he has tried but the House zero. They have not lived up to expectations. I hope to contribute my vote to shake up the balance of the House in 2015. We need a house that can engage the executives not collude. FOI in Lagos is a must. |
Johnnyessence: Thk God d police av arrested 6 thugs on Monday just wait and see fayose will be disgrace in ado ekiti govt.house Cos' he doesn't av ruler ship material to be governor of ekiti state.Because he doesn't have a ruler ship material to be governor of Ekiti, that's why you think its OK to kill his supporters, abi. Those that have ruler ship material where were they when INEC was conducting elections. Why can they convince the people with their ruler ship material. Or, killing is one of their ruler ship materials? |
Democracy is a government of the PEOPLE, for the PEOPLE and by the PEOPLE. Gone are the days when justice is cash and carry. Its not difficult to know the man of d people. The people will fight for their mandate with their blood. Gone are d days when you frustrate the will of the people with lush money. I see a revolution on the horizon. THOSE THAT MAKE PEACEFUL CHANGE IMPOSSIBLE MAKE VIOLENT CHANGE INEVITABLE. |
FastShipping: How do you debate people who love to just spread lies? How do you prove the bolded? Present Governor of Ekiti State is a Christian.Did Tinubu have an option in Ekiti ? Could it have been otherwise ? Installing a moslem in Ekiti is like installing a moslem in Isreal. Will that not be madness? |
.I guess your people in APC must have tried
