When Tinubu was going round the world canversing for investors Obi supporters claimed he was wasting tax-payers monies. Now we can see the impact of his trips as more investors are showing interest in Nigerian market. At this rate how can there be umployment in Nigeria. Yet they want to protest to scuttle his achievements and plans. We will not allow that !

Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ajibola Basiru, has said that he expects former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to lead the planned nationwide protest.

Basiru stated this during an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today on Wednesday while responding to Atiku’s latest criticism against the Tinubu administration.

Atiku had criticised the Federal Government and its agencies for trying to abort the planned August 1 protest across the country.

But during the interview, Basiru said that demands of the leaders of the planned protest were political.

He said, “As far as I am concerned, talk is very cheap". I expect Atiku Abubakar on the day of the protest to lead. Nobody has stopped somebody to protest.

“Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and our party, the APC have not stopped anybody from protesting. At various radio and TV stations different people come with ideas some of them adverse to our government. Has anybody been arrested for criticizing our government? That is what democracy is all about heterogeneity of ideas.

“That protest is not about bad governance because when you talk about bad governance there are many parameters that come into play. I don’t know if you have seen the charter of the so-called leaders. Their demands are political.

“They said we should scrap the 1999 constitution and replace it with people made constitution, we should do away with the Senate and then the issue of minimum wage. The President has addressed the question of minimum wage.”


Basiru added that the Tinubu adminstration was working hard to solve the challenges facing Nigeria.

If he is taking these bold steps within 18 months in office he should be commended. That does not mean he is perfect or a saint but he is trying notwithstanding the hardship. But Tinubu has been lobbying for investment form all over the world so if they are showing interest it means his efforts are paying off. He just needs to find a way to accommodate all. I like what Tinubu is doing. It's obvious he has attracted foreign investors with more money than Dangote and Dangote feels threatened. Dangote too simply needs to go win-win. The future is bright under Tinubu.

That's how to run a country. Doing proper test run. Using statistical tools like focus groups. Tinubu is not Buhari. Organisation in Lagos is different. Lagos leads, others follow.

That's the point I am making. Sanusi was more of a corporate Lagos boy who didn't socialize much with commoners who are in majority. He was mostly in corporate offices outside Kano for most part of his life. You cant compare him with the Bayero man that prayed on the same mat with commoners for years. He does not need to incite his supporters against Sanusi. That kind of violence is organic. He has fed them for years and Sanusi is now coming with his English grammar. Power comes from the people. If you think the people want Sanusi why not advice him to walk any street of Kano without Security and let's see if they won't attack him. Sanusi was more of a Lagos guy while the Bayero man was entrenched in Kano politics. The fact that the gov cannot totally dislodge him from Kano says a lot about his support from the people. If not for Tinubu's intervention there would have been full scale violence in Kano.

It's obvious now. Kwankwaso started this imposition when he was gov. I learnt the kingmakers initially picked Bayeros senior but Kwankwaso rejected him and told them to pick Sanusi. Till date the Bayero senior is quiet but this one is strong-headed. All the same I don't see Sanusi flowing with the grassroots masses. He is more of a Lagos boy than Kano boy hence his disconnect from the Kano commoners.

It's obvious that the people of Kano prefer this Bayero guy to Sanusi but the gov and Kwankwaso are using their political power to impose Sanusi. While I am not against Sanusi, I think the peoples will should be allowed to stand.
