I am not an economist but common sense tells me that sometime in the past our mothers drank garri while sending us to university in order for us to gain a better life than them. Now they achieved their goal with us and they can eat the fruit of their labour. Same way with economy. Temporary discomfort for better future are not strange. America, UK, China all passed through their birth pains to reach where they are today. Even great China devalued it's currency at some point and it was tough for Chinese. We can't continue running our economy the way it had been run since independence. We need to change it. Only a madman keeps doing something the same way and expects a different outcome. Some Nigerians enjoy 24/7 power now, especially those in Band A. Where I am in Enugu currently, they don't cease power. The moment it goes, it is restored. The truth is that power isn't cheap and what determines whether people will enjoy steady power or not depends on their ability to pay for it.

As for having the resources to generate enough power, Nigeria has it. That's why a state like Imo is focusing on using gas to generate 24/7 power while the north uses hydropower and Tinubu is trying to get World Bank to grant Nigeria a loan for solar power. Some parts of Edo State are already enjoying power from solar.

So, in summary, 24/7 power supply is feasible, but only those that can afford it will enjoy it because power isn't cheap.

If power is not cheap why then are some Nigerians castigating Tinubu for the increase in price for Band A customers? Is it the case of Nigerians wanting a level of comfort they can't afford? If any Nigerian want 24/7 electricity then they should be willing to pay for it. But there is the valid issue that there is humongous corruption among the political office holders. Nigerians will be willing to sacrifice mutually if politicians stop looting our resources for themselves. How else do you explain the fact that senators are hiding their salaries and allowances meanwhile that of civil servants is well known. Why are they hiding theirs. Anyway we see what they are doing with money. We see the properties they acquire within a shirt period in office. That cannot continue.
