You really try!😀 That's exactly the dictionary definition of neighbor. But Christ put a different meaning to it. All Jews consider themselves brothers and don't even speak to Samaritans, talkless of live near them (so they can't be their neighbors in the dictionary sense). But in Christ's definition of "neighbor", a Samaritan who has been kind to a Jew is more his neighbor than a brother Jew!
You know, the really funny thing is that if tomorrow the JW governing body decides you can call your fellow clans men brother, they'd suddenly become your brothers again!😅
See my reply to OP above. So because Christ defined "neighbor" as such, does it mean you'd stop calling your wicked next-door neighbor your neighbor? Anybody who lives close to you, you'd still call them your neighbor despite the fact Christ put a different meaning to it!
Likewise, people in a group call themselves brothers - that's the sense in which Christ used it. All disciples of Christ were brothers. But so are all JW's, all people in a fighting unit, all black people, all people from your village, all people from your tribe, all people from one tribe of Israel, all Israelites, and ultimately the whole world. So GB telling you to stop calling all those "brother" is same as someone telling you to stop calling your wicked next-door neighbor your neighbor!

Jesus' teachings binds believers together as ONE {John 17:22} and makes us BROTHERS {Matthew 12:46-50} that's the secret of true LOVE! John 13:34-35

You raised the issue unknowingly to you that Jesus has given us something special which is far better even much more than just being neighbors!

I definitely did not inherit my belief as my parents were not really believers, more atheists in the beginning. My mum first came to God but I am one who is not easily convinced and so it wasn't until 4 years ago, that I could actually started believing IN  God who I now know does exist. I have always been one of those who seek proof and understanding of proof before belief can follow and I believe it took me deciding it was time to know or bust for me to see and know for sure that God is. I had concluded that if there was no God, then I was not only here for no reason but also living a meaningless and worthless existence but if there was a God, then it would follow that there was a reason for my existence and I needed to find out what it was. I decided to ask God to prove himself to me and He did in so many ways and today, I can say I am a believer cause I actually asked God himself to show me his glory and he did over and over again. No vision or dreams, just answers to prayers and opening my mind to knowledge of what has always been but my mind had been closed to.

The PIMO are entangled in the Crisis of Conscience (a book authored by one of your elders, Raymond Franz), countless thousands are not bold enough to get out the organization for the fear of what will befall them - a life better envisaged than experienced.

If they know a family of happy people outside the organization surely nothing can stop them but don't know any other happy family that's why they are crying because Jesus said true happiness is in doing what pleases God not man but if anyone wants to please man such ones can't be happy no matter the bliss found in the organization!

To serve in such a sensitive position in the church your faith and lifestyle is what young ones in the church need to emulate so if you as a single mother is serving as the choir master others may feel there is nothing bad in having children out of wedlock but according to God's word children needs the attention of both their father and mother for them to grow spiritually. I'm not saying you are not worthy to be called a believer but then there are certain things that doesn't just fit in as younger ones may not understand what led to your predicament they will just feel there is nothing wrong whereas it's a serious matter!

There are two reasons why we study the Bible with our neighbours:

[1] To search the hearts perhaps such a person is one of the lost sheep of the house of Israel. If he is then we introduce him or her to our global family of peace loving worshipers where we all see ourselves as brothers and sisters.

[2] To help settle ahead whatever could lead to quarrel in the future. If someone study the Bible with us he will know what we believe and things we don't do so when talking about festivals or events that we do not participate such ones will know that it's not because we hate them rather it's the festival or custom we avoided.

So after studying the Bible with us and you choose not to be one of Jehovah's Witnesses we continue to treat you as a well meaning neighbor meanwhile you can't expect us to be close to you as we are to our fellow believers! Galatians 6:10
