Politics / Shehu Sani On Sowore.... Free Sowore Now ... The Cable Ng by maxman01: 11:52am On Aug 04, 2019
Shehu Sani On Sowore: If You Can Have Coffee With Bandits, You Can Dialogue With Dissents

Shehu Sani, a former senator, says the federal government should be able to engage dissenting voices if it can sit to have coffee with bandits in search of peace.

Sani made this statement on Saturday in reaction to the arrest of Omoyele Sowore, presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in the 2019 elections.

Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) had arrested Sowore in the early hours of Saturday.

“The arrest of Omoyele Sowore stands unreservedly condemned,” he said.

“Our Democracy has become a block of ice floating on warm waters. We are leapfrogging into totalitarianism.

“A nation that can sit and have a cup of coffee with bandits in the search for peace should not find it difficult to engage dissenting voices.

“It’s ironic for our nation to walk in the sun and be allergic to shadows. The voices of dissent are the heartbeats of democracy.

“Let not our prisons not be filled with those that speak but with those that kill.”

Sowore’s arrest on Saturday is suspected to be connected to #RevolutionNow, a movement planning to protest “against bad governance” in Nigeria.

The protests are scheduled to begin on Monday, August 5.

Sani accused the ruling elite of becoming intolerant of truths that had once served as the “moral chariots that validated their ascension to power”.

He said Nigeria’s democracy will remain questionable until citizens “learn to tolerate things that are legal within the ambit of the law but unpleasant to our ears”.

“The Government should defeat Sowore by by beaming a bigger light than his and not by switching off his rays.

“Sowore should be released.”

*#REVOLUTIONNOW – NO RETREAT, NO SURRENDER!*
#DaysOfRage - 5th August - #FreeSowore

The Coalition for Revolution (CORE) appreciates the widespread condemnation of the arrest of Omoyele Sowore, National Chair of the African Action Congress (AAC) and an active participant of the #RevolutionNow movement. The aim of the government was to behead the movement.
But the bankrupt Buhari presidency fails to realise that Sowore and the movement merely represent the deep-seated anger of the people against the corrupt, incompetent and illegitimate rule of APC (and PDP), and our collective yearning to build a better society, which we are ready to fight for.

The #DaysOfRage commences across the country on Monday 5 August. As citizens, we will exercise our constitutional right to protest, in two dozen towns and cities, in spread over all the six geo-political zones. The nationwide protest will be peaceful and aimed at reiterating our five-core demands thus:
1. an economy that works for the masses (and not a handful of individuals, banks and foreign multinationals).

2. an effective and democratic end to insecurity and insurgency

3. an end to systemic corruption and for total system change in the interest of all

4. the immediate implementation of the N30,000.00 minimum wage at all levels in the public service as agreed with the trade unions.

5. Education as an enforceable right and not a privilege
And to these demands, we add the #FreeSowore immediately and unconditionally. Nothing can stop an idea whose time has come. Nothing can stop #RevolutionNow
We have a date with history. We will not retreat, and we will not surrender, for we are many and those that constitute the ruling cabal are few. The people united can never be defeated.

Politics / Sowore's Arrest ...between Dss Vs Lawyers by maxman01: 11:21pm On Aug 03, 2019
WHAT TRANSPIRED BETWEEN THE DSS AND MR. OMOYELE SOWORE'S LAWYER

This is more of a news piece and it does not form an opinion piece. However, I feel it may be useful for your media outfit if you find worthy of publishing.

It is no longer news that Mr. Omoyele Sowore was arrested by the DSS earlier hours today and I am representing him as his Lawyer over that incidence.

As Lawyer to Mr. Omoyele Sowore, Publisher of Sahara Reporters, I visited the DSS office af CMD Road, Ketu, Lagos together with other notable Nigerians. Mr. Sowore had been arrested in a "gestapo' manner in the early hours of today.

When we got to the DSS office, we were denied entrance into the Police Building arrogantly. As much as I persuaded them that the "accused" has lawful right of access to his Lawyer as enshrined under Section 35 (2) of the 1999 Constitution, my advice fell on the deaf ears of the Police Officers who claimed that their boss wasn't around and I have to wait till Monday (working day) before I could be let in.

It was a rather brief visit due to the unwelcoming disposition of the officers who we met at the entrance. I regard this 'arrest' as more of an abduction than any other thing. This illicit act is worthy of condemnation.

The Nigerian Police continues to represent itself as an organisation with minimal regard for human rights.

Tope Akinyode is Head of Legal Team AAC Lagos and was the Personal Lawyer to Mr. Omoyele Sowore over this arrest.

Politics / Sowore's Arrest.... Eye Witness Report by maxman01: 5:52am On Aug 03, 2019
*Eye-witness report.*

At around past 1am, the armed men knocked on the door. I noticed immediately that these knocks were strange. And didn't open. I looked and I saw men armed to the teeth. They started forcing their way in like armed robbers. But I knew they were DSS men, knowing fully well the attention RevolutionNow has garnered. Sowore wanted to open at first but I immediately told him who they are. He retreated and like magic, he was not in the room when they forced their way in- 8 of them. That was when he managed to tweet. By this time, I had been beaten and handcuffed. Phones were snatched from me. An order to block all exits came from the leader when Sowore was not found inside.
He was later arrested at the gym in a gestapo manner and dragged after a bit altercation.

They removed my handcuffs and I quickly seized that opportunity to drive his car (I drive him) to block their SIENNA and Hilux they came in. They hit the Lexus Jeep like kidnappers would do to make way for themselves. I followed them immediately till we got to CMD road around Ketu when one of them came down from the SIENNA and corked his gun, threatening to shoot me. I had to escape at that point.

Politics / Sowore's Arrest.... Hello DSS ....... Femi Adeyeye by maxman01: 4:29am On Aug 03, 2019
Hello DSS,
I know my phone has been bugged long time ago.
You know my location. I would also gladly send my exact address not to confuse you at all. Can we meet this morning and just end the whole thing? Arresting won't be good. Killing me would be better.

We are not scared of death anymore. The progress of Nigeria for us is a do or die affair. If we leave the World today, let the struggle continue in the after-world if there be.

Thank you. We are waiting! I dare you. *If you do not come in the next 5 hours, I would come to you.*

#RevolutionNow is here to stay and it would outlive all agents of oppression.

Politics / Sowore's Arrest: No Power Can Stop #revolutionnow!...aac Lagos Chairman . by maxman01: 4:21am On Aug 03, 2019
SOWORE'S ARREST: NO POWER, NO MATTER HOW LETHARGIC CAN STOP #REVOLUTIONNOW!

(Lagos AAC press text)

We have confirmed that Omoyele Sowore, the leader of the #RevolutionNow protests have been arrested.

This arrest is not surprising to us. We know that the presidency has tried everything in their powers to discredit and dampen our struggle.

For the past three days, the presidency has paid hugely to social media influencers and such others to discredit the #RevolutionNow all to no avail!

The presidency even went as far as attacking Amnesty International believing that their blackmails would appeal to Nigerians.

They also paid some ex-activists to counter us publicly but the mass of working people stood by #RevolutionNow!

Lagos branch of the African Action Congress (AAC) condemns Sowore's arrest and Buhari's stubborn and cruel antidemocratic credentials. We believe that the #RevolutionNow will outlive all forces of repression, particularly the Buhari presidency.

We call on the Coalition for Revolution (CORE) and other organizers to continue with mobilization. A failed government cannot use force to make the mass of people to accept its failure.

March on! Mobilize on!!
We will win!!!

ARREST OF OMOYELE SOWORE: THE REVOLUTION SHALL NOT BE STOPPED!!!

Comrades of #RevolutionNow

The National Action Committee has confirmed that Omoyele Sowore, AAC National Chairman, and member of the Coalition for Revolution (CORE), has been arrested and taken away by the Department of State Security (DSS) to an unknown destination.

We are working to get more information concerning this development and to organise legal intervention to secure his immediate release. We shall provide information on further developments as it becomes available.

Sowore's arrest attests to the validity of our struggle to liberate Nigeria from the shackles of a ruling class that aims to keep NIgeria's working people under perpetual oppression. For sixty years they have kept Nigerians enslaved under their incompetent, corrupt, and irresponsible rule. Now, we the people have had enough and are ready to take back our country, to take back the political power and national wealth that rightly belong to us.

The arrest of Sowore is definite and clear evidence that they are afraid of #RevolutionNow.

This is why we must intensify our preparation. Get the word out to as many people as you can. Mobilise on your street, your campus, workplace, marketplace, bus stop, everywhere. The battle has begun. Let the mighty people of Nigeria stand for liberty and justice in this country.

They have arrested Sowore, but they cannot break our will for freedom from their oppression.

We shall not be intimidated; neither shall we be moved. We shall go ahead with our protest on August 5. We shall come out in our droves!

In unity and with one mighty voice, we shall tell the oppressor class:
"This is our country!"
"This is our land!"
"We reject you and your policies!"
"Pack your load and go!"

Victory is certain, because a people united can never be defeated. So let us come out in our Days of Rage, starting August 5.

Politics / Why We Need A Revolution Nowfrederick Odorige Gcsdn by maxman01: 11:49am On Aug 02, 2019
IF SOMEBODY ASK YOU WHY WE NEED A REVOLUTION NOW, THIS IS WHAT YOU SHOULD SAY:
The aim of the revolution is to challenge the uncommon hardship; challenge why we have 16m children on the street; challenge why we have become the poverty capital of the world; challenge why we have 20 persons with corruption cases as federal legislators and would-be Ministers. We need to restructure the country. We need to put an end to trillions spent on electricity while we live in darkness and pay estimated bill for electricity and meters. Why do we have huge oil reserves but refineries are dead and we are re-importing what we exported as crude oil? It is time to ask why those in govt travel abroad for medical care when they have left our hospitals dilapidated; why they send their children to school abroad when our children learn under mango trees. We are revolting against the continuing killings that have left 20,000 Nigerians dead while those in office move around under state paid security and do nothing. We are revolting because over a thousand Nigerian soldiers killed by boko haram have been secretly buried without identifiable graves, dignity or honour. $16m was purportedly spent on mosquito nets but our children die daily from malaria. $320m Abacha loot was purportedly distributed to the poor. Where is the verifiable list?
N500billion was purportedly distributed to the poor as so-called trader-moni. Where is the verifiable list? Our senators earn far more than the American President yet we are borrowing to finance our entire 2019 budget. Unemployment rate will jump to 33.5% in 2020. The UN general assembly has projected that Nigeria shall remain the poverty capital of the world beyond 2050. That is 31years from now. By then, our population shall double to 400million. It means that all the problems we have today will equally double or triple IF WE REFUSE TO REVOLT NOW and say NO to everything and everybody that has held us down as a people. With divine grace, God gave us about 40 natural resources spread across 420 locations across the length and breadth of the country. No country on mother earth is as blessed! The persons destroying Nigeria in and out of government are less than 10,000. For how long will the 201million of us be silent? Forever?
It will be sheer stupidity and very unfair of us to be silent and bequeath today's sorry Nigeria to our children. For how long shall we continue to endure bad leadership from certificate forgers, election riggers, ritualists and yahoo politicians, hoping upon hope for a better tomorrow when things get worse by the day? We are too rich to be poor. We are too blessed to be a mockery of the world!!! NO!!!

Politics / GCSDN Supports "Revoulution Now" by maxman01: 3:47pm On Jul 30, 2019
NIgerian Diaspora GCSDN support "REVOLUTION NOW" from 5 August. We must alter the altar – Odorige NIgerian Diaspora under the platform of the Global Coalition for Security and Democracy in Nigeria, GCSDN has called on all Nigerians to join the "REVOLUTION NOW" which shall commence in Nigeria from 5 August 2019. Speaking on behalf of the coalition, Frederick Odorige the global coordinator stated that for too long, the common wealth of Nigerians has been sacrificed on the evil altar of self-seeking politicians. He declared that it is time to alter the altar. Odorige narrated the many ills plaguing the country to include, among others, the uncommon hardship, steady borrowing that has surpassed 24 trillion naira, continuing killing by herdsmen, boko haram and bandits, kidnapping, having 20 persons with corruption charges as federal legislators and appearing on Buhari’s Ministerial list, over 16 million children on the street, the corrupt and unverifiable distribution of $320m Abacha loot, the corrupt and unverifiable distribution of 500 billion naira trader moni in the name of social investment fund; bogus earning by federal legislators and the executives, pension for ex-governors and their deputies while Nigeria continue to borrow for budget funding. He went further to state that no tribe can fight the battle for freedom alone. Rather, he called for a united front where Nigerians will act together and speak with a common voice. This is not a revolution where we should be talking about our differences in tribe, religion or region. All Nigerians have been marginalized and it is glaring that Nigeria is currently not being governed. Odorige stated that he is afraid for today’ s youths who do not seem to understand what is about to befall Nigeria as unemployment rate will jump to 33.5% in 2020 while it has been projected by the United Nations that Nigeria will remain the poverty capital of the world beyond 2050. He further condemned the actions of the current government which has led to the unlawful detention of Nigerians against court orders. Odorige went further to assure Nigerians that members of the movement equally feel their pains despite the fact that they are comfortable in foreign countries. He promised that they will continue to put pressure on the international community to demand for justice, respect for the rule of law and genuine fight against corruption in Nigeria. In support of his statement, the Vice President of the Nelson M46664 Human rights association Fafore Adebowale cautioned aggrieved Nigerians to embark on the protest in the spirit of Revolution Without Ammunition patterned in a legal, peaceful and non-violent manner in order to avoid casualties. They finally appreciated the efforts of Omoyele Sowore and other Nigerians in diaspora who are already in Nigeria, for spending their time, energy and resources towards the emancipation of Nigeria from the grip of draconian rule.

Politics / Sowore’s AAC Declares Protests Across Nigeria August 5...premium Times by maxman01: 10:32pm On Jul 29, 2019
The African Action Congress (AAC) has declared August 5, 2019, the commencement date of revolution protests tagged ‘Days of Rage’ across the country to demand for a better Nigeria.

The presidential candidate of the party in the 2019 general elections, Omoyele Sowore, disclosed this on Saturday in Abuja at the end of the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the AAC.

Mr Sowore said that the protest would be sustained until the country is put on the right path of honour where justice will prevail.

He stated that the action of the government compelled them to take the decision noting that there was no level playing field in the last elections.

“Election is a place we would have carried out a revolution of the ballot box but they stole the ballot box. They hijacked materials that was meant for free and fair election and as a result they did not organise any election that was credible enough for people to have faith in the ballot box,” he said.

Mr Sowore who is also a human rights activist maintained that for the country to have free and fair elections in the future, there must be a showdown and people must define who should be their electoral officers.

He said, “The revolution has therefore become inevitable. We didn’t choose to go for revolution they choose it by ensuring that there was no level playing field in the last election.

“As you know they did it in Sudan and it was started by some females. They were making fun of them but they did not stop until doctors joined them, the labour union joined them and what started as 5 people became 5,000 and 500,000 and became 5,000,000 and the regime fell.

“So don’t let anybody deceive you that in asking for a better government or country you are committing any illegality. The biggest illegality being committed in Nigeria as of today is the rigging of election in 2019.

“The moment you don’t allow people to express their God giving rights to choose their leaders, you are committing an illegality and inviting resistance.”

Politics / Coalition For Revolution To Hold Nationwide Protests Aug 5.. Sahara Reporters by maxman01: 12:00pm On Jul 28, 2019
Coalition for Revolution (CORE), a political movement of the Nigerian masses and youths, has declared to do a nationwide protest which will commence from August 5, 2019.

The group made the declaration in a statement.

CORE lamented the corruption prevalent in the political system and called for a complete overhaul of the system.

In a statement obtained by SaharaReporters, the group said, "It is quite clear that the Nigerian ruling elites and the current political regimes of both the APC and PDP at all levels of government can never resolve any of the crises plaguing the land as they are co-creation of the corrupt system that paves way for the problems in the first place. The situation has gone from bad to worse and still on the downward slide at an accelerating speed.

"There are currently more than a dozen armed conflicts going on around the country with deadly consequences and massive displacements of people. These confirm the reality that Nigerian is tending more towards a FAILED STATE where barbarism reigns supreme.

“Also, Nigeria is currently the country with the highest level of poverty globally. Daily reports of killings, kidnapping, attacks, corruption, etc are what currently dominates the media reports."

The group called on young people in the country to take over the streets in protest until their demands are met.

It added, "The Nigerian masses and youths, therefore, have no choice but to stand up and storm the streets in protest and with their demands. The change they said never comes easy and if we do not stand up in the struggle for freedom, the chains would remain on our necks.

"Commencing on Monday, August 5, 2019, the Coalition for Revolution, would be leading a nationally coordinated protest movement. We have the right to be in a rage and to protest. The Aug 5 date was arrived at after series of consultations and meetings."

Politics / BREAKING: AAC Expels Ezenwa, Reinstates Sowore As Nat Chairman.. Sahara Reporter by maxman01: 9:50am On Jul 28, 2019
The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the African Action Congress (AAC) has reinstated Mr. Omoyele Sowore as the national chairman of the party.

The NEC also announced the expulsion of Mr. Leonard Nzenwa from the party while rejecting the purported suspension of Sowore and Malcolm Fabiyi from the party by Ezenwa.

This decision was announced at the end of the NEC meeting through a communiqué signed by the Deputy National Secretary, Dr Joshua Adeoye, in Abuja on Saturday.

The NEC also rejected the ruling by Justice Iyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court Abuja removing Sowore as the national chairman positing that the court has no case dabbling into the domestic affairs of a political party.

The communiqué reads, “The NEC hereby affirms and reinstates Mr Omoyele Sowore as the one and only national chairman of AAC and Dr Malcolm Fabiyi as the Deputy National Chairman of the AAC Headquarters.

"All actions carried out by Leonard Nzenwa in the name of the African Action Congress including documents signed or authored by him, are hereby dismissed, set aside and completely nullified forthwith.”

The highest decision-making body of the party claimed that Nzenwa failed to appear before it to defend himself as required by Article 80 and 81 of AAC constitution when summoned and went ahead to forge official stamps of the party.

The committee, therefore, called for the arrest and prosecution of Nzenwa for forgery and perjury.

"The NEC affirms that the judiciary as decided by the Supreme court in several cases has no to dabble into the domestic affairs of a political party and is not a forum for determining the leadership of the political party.

“The party also resolved that the stamps used on documents submitted to the court by Leonard were forged with fictitious names and signatures.

“The highest decision making body of the party, therefore, found Nzenwa guilty of the offences in Article 80 (a) , (b) , (d) ,(e) and (f) of the AAC constitution and therefore expelled him from the party in line with the provision of Article 81 (1) and 81 (2) (a),” the communiqué added.

The NEC hereby directs the national working committee to immediately petition the Nigerian Police Force and other relevant security agencies and insist on the prosecution of Nzenwa for forgery, perjury among other criminal acts arising from his felonious conduct.

The body has fixed its next meeting for September 2019 where the final decision would be taken and also proposed to hold its second national convention in December 2019.

Politics / AAC: TIB Leadership Reacts To Justice Ekwo’s Ruling. ..vanguard by maxman01: 5:02pm On Jul 22, 2019
The leadership of Take It Back (TIB), parent body and founder, of the Africa Action Congress (AAC) party, after an emergency meeting held over the weekend, has vehemently condemned the role of the Nigerian Judiciary in perpetrating fraud and assault against the party.

Representing members of the leadership, Ugo Ubili, Director Diaspora Directorate, noted that the party is the only visionary and innovative party that is capable of rescuing Nigeria out of her problems, adding that the party is devoid of primordial fault lines of the old parties.

The judgment delivered by Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Abuja Federal High Court is a charade and travesty of justice. It is to destabilize a party that is growing to challenge the status quo in Nigeria.

“Can Nigerians believe that Justice Ekwo after delivering judgment, lacking in merit with grounds unknown to law and evidence, refused to produce his own judgment for appeal, not until Sahara Reporters did a story on the subject matter.

“Mr. Ezenwa Leonard and his cohorts are running an imaginary AAC party, we assured them that they can only hide under the court of Justice Ekwo, not in the court of public opinion,” he said.

According to Ubili, the party’s leadership has instructed all other organs of the TIB movement and the AAC party not to be distracted by this development but to remain focused and resolute.

“Mr Leonard and his co-travelers are hereby declared persona non-grata around TIB and AAC facilities worldwide. The leadership of Mr Omoyele Sowore and that of Dr Fabiyi is not in doubt. We know them both and want them both.

“Our leaders have decided to take this injustice to the higher court of the land and will ensure justice prevails,” he said.

Revolution:

“cannot be anything other than an outburst of mass struggle on the part of all and sundry oppressed and discontented elements. Inevitably, sections of the petty bourgeoisie and of the backward workers will participate in it—without such participation, mass struggle is impossible, without it no revolution is possible—and just as inevitably will they bring into the movement their prejudices, their reactionary fantasies, their weaknesses and errors. But objectively they will attack capital.”

Politics / Sanwo-olu Must Stop Beating About The Bush... Aac Lagos Chairman by maxman01: 11:42am On Jul 19, 2019
CHILD CULTISM AND INSECURITY: GOVERNOR SANWO-OLU MUST STOP BEATING ABOUT THE BUSH!

(Press text of the Lagos Branch of the African Action Congress (AAC)

Amidst the hullabaloo all over the media of a "Lagos is Working," the reverse has been shown to have been the truth so far.

Two things have exposed what the Lagos Cabal has been using the prevailing idea to cover up: this rainy season, and the terror of child cultism and other crimes. "6 out of every 10 children in Lagos are cultists."

A brutal report of a 72-hour mass violence of child cultism with different names like "Omo Kesari;" "Awawa;" "One Million Boys," Seven Street Boys in Oshodi; Judas Iscariot Boys in Ejigbo; and others in Idimu; Ikotun; and other areas vindicate the reports that Lagos is the most underdeveloped state in Nigeria, given the wealth owned by the state and the fact that it's debt is second only to the Federal government.

As it is now, only few states in Nigeria has poorer internal road networking than Lagos. Whenever it rains, everywhere is messed up. But no state has spent more huge funds on road networking than Lagos.

The reign of child cultism today is owed to the general collapse of public education in Lagos as well as the mass unemployment in the state. Private schools are times three of public schools. There is just one state university; Lagos State University (LASU.)

It is also appalling that most of the trading power of the mass of poor people like markets, mechanic villages, and sports arenas have all been destroyed, seized and aokd off. The Lagos politicians are only amassing wealth. They do not do but "renopaintings and surface repairs". Old fashioned innovations are praised to the high.

Lagos AAC sympathizes with Lagosians at this trying period. Our condolences to all the victims of these violence. This is definitely a sad page in our history.

However, while we cry we must always see. If not our tears will never dry. It is important that we understand how we slept and were beating by the rain in the night.

The onus is to ask the Lagos government to stop beating about the bush and face the real issues. True free education with delicious feeding and quality academic and technological system must be put in place immediately. Child cultists can be trained to become the greats of the future with democratic, pro-people standards!

Governor Sanwo-Olu must also not resort to setting the Lagos Task Force loose to arresting traders, innocent citizens, and okada riders. Face the real issues and tackle the problems headlong. Even if a government want to prevent trade littering the streets, is it not much more correct to create alternative spaces for these traders instead of violent repression.

Then what kind of government is ignoring the Night Economy? This is a lucrative economy that can even resolve unemployment as well as reduce child cultism.

Lagos AAC calls on Lagos towns to immediately build independent community Vigilance Teams. Then we all need to demand that Lagos is truly made working at all levels through free functional and compulsory education at all levels. Massive industrialisation and a creative development of the Night economy are needed to cater for employment and reducing poverty.

Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty!

Sowore and AAC as a party are fighting for the nigeria of our dreams but remember an injustice to one is an injustice to all

Politics / Lagos AAC Rejects “cut And Sew” Verdict To Suspend Sowore, Launches ‘revolution by maxman01: 2:16pm On Jul 16, 2019
The Lagos state branch of the African Action Congress (AAC) has rejected the “cut and sew” court verdict removing Omoyele Sowore as the party chairman.

In May, a faction of AAC led by the expelled party secretary Leonard Nzenwa said it had suspended Sowore, the presidential candidate of the party in the 2019 elections.

He was said to have been suspended from the party over “failure to convene national executive council (NEC) meeting, financial misappropriation and other anti-party activities,” and Leonard Nzenwa was appointed acting chairman.

On Friday, the federal high court sitting in Abuja held that Sowore should stop parading himself as the party chairman. Joshua Adeoye, counsel to Sowore, had argued that his client traveled outside the country before the matter with suit number FHC/ABJ/CS/512/2019 was filed, and therefore was unable to depose to the counter affidavits.

Inyang Ekwo, the judge presiding over the matter, however dismissed the argument. But reacting to this development at a press conference in Lagos on Monday, Comrade Kunle Wizeman Ajayi, acting chairman of AAC Lagos, described the judgment as “cut and sew” that should not be allowed to stand.

“This judgement is copiously biased, neither on logic or merit but on some technical jargons that are unfounded,” he said.

Agba Jalingo, the AAC chairman in Cross Rivers state, also said their chapter stands in solidarity with Sowore.

“Please, go and tell Leonard that none of them should come near Cross River State, we do not know Leonard, the person we elected is Omoyele Sowore. We cannot follow a leader we do not know,” he said.

Ahmed Buhari and Adesina Afolabi, party chairmen in Kwara and Ogun also rejected Nzenwa as their leader.

Sam Ajeigbe, the AAC national treasurer, also followed suit, saying Sowore did not spend money belonging to the party. “In fact, he moved money from his personal campaign account to use for the party,” he said.

The party led by Omoyele Sowore, also launched what was described as the beginning of a revolution that’ll take place in Nigeria.

The former presidential candidate marched with some members of the Lagos State chapter of his African Action Congress (AAC) at Maryland, Lagos on Monday, July 15, 2019 to “start preparing Nigerians for what is to happen”.

While speaking at the protest rally in Maryland, he accused the current government of incompetence and lacking a vision to lead Nigeria.

Sowore also warned a faction of the AAC that suspended him as party chairman in May that the party, founded last year, cannot be hijacked.

“This is just a rehearsal of what is going to visit Nigeria in the next few weeks, months that we’ll cause revolution in this country. He said

“Nigerian people are tired of the negligence, incompetence and wickedness in government.

“We came out here as members of the African Action Congress; first, to warn the people who are trying to hijack our party that our party is not hijackable, but most importantly to start preparing Nigerians for what is to happen.

“We want this country to experience a revolution and we hope that everybody that is watching and listening to us all over Nigeria will be getting ready.

“These people have no plans for us. They have no agenda or vision for this country. As a result, we’re going to take our destiny in our hands.

“So, we came here today to give you a small bit of what will be happening as we align with our colleagues, other revolutionaries both in Nigeria and outside of Nigeria.”

Politics / Lagos AAC Rejects Sowore’s Removal As Party Chairman.... Premium Times by maxman01: 1:37pm On Jul 16, 2019
The Lagos State chapter of the African Action Congress (AAC) has rejected last week’s court decision affirming the removal of Omoyele Sowore as the party’s national chairman.

At a press briefing in Lagos on Monday, the chapter said the court’s ruling was a “cut and sew” judgment that would not stand.

“This judgement is copiously biased, neither on logic or merit but on some technical jargons that are unfounded,” said Kunle Ajayi, the acting chairman of AAC, Lagos chapter.

The Federal High Court, Abuja, on Friday ordered the suspended national chairman of the party, Mr Sowore, to stop parading himself as the party’s national chairman.

The judge, Inyang Ekwo, in his ruling, also validated the removal of Malcolm Fabiyi as the deputy national chairman of the party.

Mr Sowore was the presidential candidate of the AAC in the 2019 Presidential Election.

Mr Sowore, who doubled as the national chairman of AAC, was controversially suspended alongside Mr Fabiyi following allegations against them, while Leonard Nzenwa was appointed the acting national chair.

Mr Sowore was accused of failing to comply with the statutory requirements of the party to hold NEC meetings The activist was also accused of misappropriation of funds, He has denied any wrongdoing.

At Monday’s press conference, the Lagos AAC said the party was not built in the courts but in the public and the judgment of the Federal High Court will not stand.

Present at the event also included state chairmen of the party from Ogun, Cross River, and Kwara states among others as well as the party’s national treasurer, national youth chairman, and the head of Sowore Campus Unit.

Politics / This "Cut And Sow" Judgement Will Not Stand.....aac Lagos by maxman01: 7:30pm On Jul 12, 2019
SOWORE'S SUSPENSION: THIS "CUT AND SOW" JUDGEMENT WILL NOT STAND!
*GOVERNOR NYESOM WIKE, ATIKU ABUBAKAR AND PDP MUST LEAVE OUR PARTY ALONE!

(Being a press text of the Lagos branch of the African Action Congress (AAC)

The Lagos state branch of the African Action Congress(AAC) totally rejects the judicial pronouncements that suspended our National Chair and Deputy; Omoyele Sowore and Malcolm Fabiyi.

This judgement is based, not on logic nor merit but on some technical jargons that are unfounded. We say that the judgement is an absolute and further decimation of the reputations of the judiciary. It such "cut and sow" judgements like this this that gives President Buhari and the APC the excuses to be attacking the judiciary indiscriminately!

However, Lagos AAC maintains that our party was never built in the courts but in the public. We want to warn the Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Candidate Atiku ABUBAKAR and Governor Nyesom WIKE of Rivers state to leave our party alone!!

AAC has decided to be different by not hobnobbing with any of the anti-people parties and nobody, no matter how powerful can derail this historical duty. We are only loyal to Nigerians whose great majority are being treated as poverty slaves and underdevelopment toys. We will never betray our political promises to stand by the working people of Nigeria at all times.

We warn WIKE to face governance and use Rivers money to cater for the welfare of the people. WIKE has millions to spend on judges and thugs to buy judgement and guns, but cannot employ one more teacher to join the only one at Universal Basic Education School, Ahoada. This is so shameless and Rivers people should start asking Wike questions now.

We want to finally tell Leonard Nzenwa that he should keep his Leadership to his bullet proof cars and money from the rivers of blood. He remains persona non grata at our congress here.

And for our ruling class at both ends, a party of the people will rise and crush you all some day. Nigerians are with us and are watching all your attempts at killing the party that will take it back from your bloody gluttony.

We urge all Take It Back and AAC members to keep strong. In a battle between the powerless consciences and the conscienceless powers, the latter laughs first. But with history and posterity, the powerless consciences will laugh last!

Nothing can stop an idea whose time has come!!

Politics / A Shocking Travesty Of Justice....aac by maxman01: 7:21pm On Jul 12, 2019
JUSTICE INYANG EKWO'S JUDGMENT ON AAC LEADERSHIP CASE: A SHOCKING TRAVESTY OF JUSTICE

Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court in Abuja on Friday, 12th July, 2019 delivered what legal scholars have described as a strange and shocking verdict in the sponsored suit brought by one Leonard Nzenwa in his desperate and dubious bid to hijack the African Action Congress (AAC) for insatiable and pecuniary gains.

Justice Ekwo in his judgment on Friday held that Leonard was entitled to the reliefs he sought on the ground that his suit was "uncontested". This, despite the robust legal defence of Mr. Omoyele Sowore and Dr. Malcolm Fabiyi with a 65-page Counter Affidavit and 12 Exhibits deposed on their behalf by Dr. Joshua Adeoye, the Deputy National Secretary of the AAC.

This judgement is a clear miscarriage of justice and runs counter to long established principles of law on affidavit evidence.

We observed that Leonard Nzenwa was escorted by security men and accompanied to the court today by associates and supporters of Governor Nyesom Wike and members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State.

The totality of these abnormalities is that the AAC has been wickedly and fraudulently hijacked through questionable judicial processes with the primary aim of frustrating the election petition against Governor Wike and the PDP in Rivers State.

We urge the leadership of the Nigerian Judiciary to salvage the judiciary from political interference and corruption. While this might be a judgement for villainy, it is does not speak for the majority of the members of the African Action Congress party. This is another injustice we must fight and fight it, we shall.

Politics / Yaya Bello Budget 8 Billion To Spend On Items For Govt House. .. Aguda Disagrees by maxman01: 11:50am On Jul 12, 2019
8 BILLION BUDGET EXPENSE ITEMS FOR KOGI GOVERNMENT HOUSE - NECESSARY?

I have been making critical reviews of budgetary allocations by the State Governemnt in Kogi over the last 3 years. A state that is unable to pay workers should not be audacious enough to expend over 8 Billion on running the Government House in one year. While there are already deficits of development in Kogi State, leadership must not be seen to be expanding the gaping hole of underdevelopment in the state. We must cut the cost of governance and ensure that we plough savings back to development. We are bordered by Anambra State which has a very low debt profile but faithful to workers. They have made judicious use of extra budgetary income channels, which Kogi also enjoyed. You cannot have a productive workforce with such levels of provocative deprivation. Costs of running the service must also be addressed to ensure that workers welfare is prioritised. So, we will make costs of running government an agreed/fixed fraction of a key cost for development such as Roads Repairs, Schools Rehabilitation and Healthcare Delivery.

It is about capacity for creative holism - management that sees the bigger picture from the small parts and which adjusts actions of the small parts to the bigger goals. People who know me well, know that I see systems not parts. It is how societies progress.

Let's do this together KOGI.

Politics / Sanwo-olu Turns Lg Funds To Atm -- Aac Lagos by maxman01: 8:22am On Jul 10, 2019
GOVERNOR SANWO-OLU MUST NOT TURN LG FUNDS TO HIS ATM!

(Being a press text of the African Action Congress (AAC),Lagos.)

The Nigeria Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) has uncovered the habitual continuation of a long-term "unchecked access" to Local Government funds especially by the Lagos state government led by Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The NFIU has exposed that Sanwo-Olu has deducted over #370million from the #750million allocated to Alimosho Local Government. This means that five LCDAs will be put to squeeze just #320million left.

Lagos AAC calls Governor Sanwo-Olu to return the #370million immediately! We also call on the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), National Union of Teachers (NUT) and other worker's unions to rise up and defend the LGs from the bloody teeths of the gluttony. This is the character of the APC government since 1999. The why they forcefully rig every LG elections through the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC).

AAC calls on ALGON to rise and speak up as Lagosians will take no excuse in demanding that duties are maximally performed with accountability at the Local government level.

Governor Sanwo-Olu must stop pampering with LG funds as they are not ATMs for him and his greedy party. Imagine over #52billion has been cornered from Alimosho LG alone since 1999. This is wicked, illegal, and a colossal theft of the people's common wealth.

Lagos AAC will henceforth mobilize our LG branches to start engaging the LGs over this legendary fraud by APC.

We therefore demand that NFIU publishes publicly all funds transferred to Local Governments monthly! This will help fiscal transparency all over the country.

We cannot continue to allow brazen stealing of public funds by any body anymore, no matter how powerful. Everyday for the thieves, some days for the owner!
