SOMETHING NEW FROM WAKANOW!!!

I received the most shocking news yesterday at work around 1pm. Just like any other Monday (19/8/13) I came to work reporting to my department (holiday’s unit) with my colleagues only to hear shocking news which was a result of an undergoing rumor for the past 3weeks. I started working at wakanow on the 20th of May 2013, as a fresh Graduate coming back into Nigeria from UK with my Masters Degree in International Tourism Management hoping to start my career with an online travel agency, unfortunately it has been my worst experience I must confess. I remember my first meeting with the MD; he mentioned something that always cross my mind which was “WHY DO EMPLOYESS ALWAYS COME AND LEAVE WAKANOW” well I believe I have the answer its “KOLA AJAYI” and his new partner you know yourself”.


From the period I started working at wakanow Mr Kola Ajayi has been harassing me with indirect messages, flirting and because I was not responding to all that, he has been threatening me with my job position. Harassment is something we know that can be taken to another level in the court of law but in this situation he spoke up first and I didn’t, I guess that’s the mistake I made. Am not writing this to get my position back I only want to inform my colleagues, the MD, DMD, HR MANAGER, OPERATIONS MANAGER and the future staffs of wakanow to know the corruptions going on in the company. Kola Ajayi asked me to resign out of frustration of not getting what he wanted from me and then sent KENNY (Kehinde T.) to follow up on his instruction with no concrete reason why I should leave my job. That’s exactly why I was dismissed. Its been nice working with you all. Have a nice day.


The harrassment, embarassment and constant fear needs to STOP! Stop intimidating people and threatening them with termination! Stop it!

Tassembly: Most of you complaining here,i don't get it,i have been using wakanow for the past 3years and have booked more than 40 tickets for my clients through wakanow. I have had no issues,i book for people regularly to US,uk, qatar,dubai, turkey and more,they have very low fees compare to other agents and even airlines,if you book directly from airline,its always expensive coz they've given licence already to booking agents like wakanow and others.to avoid isssues and as an agent,what i always do is this,i don't do the online thing myslf. what you suppose to do when you are booking anytime is always call them and make sure you ask for the name of the person you spoke with,let them book for you,they will send you booking details to your email immediately,also pay immediately,don't wait and don't delay payment,once you pay,tell them in bank to credit their account in your presence before leaving the bank.now call wakanow again and tell them to transfer to that same person to confirm your payment.your ticket will be issued within 30minute maximum if you always follow that step. Don't do the online booking yourself. They may claim they don't see it and that's why they didn't attend to it.they are not scam,they are real.i also book recently for my bro and his wife to US and i even book 2month ahead for cheap ticket and they fly that day without delay or restriction at airport

I remember sometime ago, where i said....RUN WEN YOU SEE WAKANOW ADVERT...NOT TO TALK OF SIGHTING THERE BILLBOARD!!!

Wakanow have turned themselves/office into a scam office!! they are never to be trusted or have any dealing with!

As for TASSEMBLY: you wear army uniform when you go there office? or you know the oga of police? wetin make them fear you?

After booking and making payment into their bank account, they call and notify you that u have to pay more money, that the ticket fare has gone up. When u compare the money to what is on the airline site, u discover it is a total lie. Imagine their fake PNR number could expire less than 1 hour after booking on their site; when you can genuily hold a PNR of klm,ba,delta,emirate,etc for atleast between 48 hours to 72 hours. These wakanow.com cheated me and I believe they will dearly pay for it. "4dzlec" that s was their fake PNR. I know their might have agent, worker/staff on NL because I can read comments on some people trying to speak good of you. for where NA LIE. investigate on my CASE via your fake PNR u gave me. WAKANOW NA MODERN ONLINE THIEF OOOO.

Hi Op,

The light on the bridge really looks nice but have you asked yourself, why the long light on the bridge and where the cars are?

The long lights are a build up of cars light (Serious traffic) from one end of the bridge to the other. The flashing lights are caused by the cars from bumper to bumper!!

So in as much as i like what i see, i also investigate to find out whats beneath the beauty.

My wifey just travelled and she did take all sort of Nigerian food except Palm oil. All you need do is for the pepper and tomato turned into paste and have them frozen like block and you can check them all in. Carrying Garri, Yam flower and all sort is allowed. Cheers.

samally: Guy am suprise Oooo........They help me to get my Uk visa in record time just yesterday...So Guy I think you did not review there terms and condition very well....

Minds you this is my third time of traveling and all they help me with is visa and the service is world class...

Guys, am a frequent traveller and trust me when i say WAKANOW service is crap!!! They made me join Virgin Flyer club cuz they were about to make me run !!!

The charge you for hotel reservations and when you decided to change due to un foreseen issues they charge you 20 percent!!

Wakanow is crap!! whoever cares to listen!!!

if it it's in 9jia, don't declare it! just tell them you have $5,000 and cards. Visa and master cards.

from experience, what i did was at MMA was i declared $5,000 when i got uk for a few night, i wasn't asked any question about money. But when i got JFK ,customs asked me how much i had on and told them(more than $70,000) and they asked me to step aside. Asked where i worked, why i was carry such and had to explain the transfer limit in my 9jia country and they did give me a form to fill and said i did the right thing by declaring it. That if they have searched me to find it, its all gone!

This ain't my first time of carrying such cash but that day i just felt like declaring it. so my advise is......declare it, and if i still have the copy of their custom form with me.

i can virtually give you names of there agents and there flimsy excuses failed services render! and for your info....i did pay for there nasty mistake! and not forgetting there 10% service charge on a cancelled hotel reservation made before 72 hrs!

When you hear WAKANOW! its means WAKARUN!!!!

Wakanow service has dropped and so, most customers like myself have moved on!!

Do they still exist? there customer service is zero as in capital "ZERO"!! So bro...just move on!!

@inspired_m, congrats bro. You really doing a great job and I respect you. But truth be told, I started respecting you more for a very humble statement you made earlier in the day on the original thread, where someone asked for a N1.5m car but said he doesn't have much, but in your response you said "N1.5m is a lot of money". So many people who have pulled such heavy deals like you have done, will turn down such a guy.
