childgodly: Never heard that before. Why wouldn’t they put that as a required document? So I have to get my secondary school transcript? Can I use waec instead Yes. Submit your Waec print out, preferably original certificate, and your secondary school’s testimonial as proof of academic background. Birth Certificate as proof of relationship with family sponsor. Notarized affidavit to show commitment of sponsor. CAC registration and Tax clearance certificate to show income of sponsor. LEtterhead sponsorship letter if using a company account as sponsor. CAC documents of PA to show evidence of entrepreneur if not cancel it out. SOP showing career progression of PA. Explain everything in detail, who is sponsoring you and why. How you’re related to the person. How much the person intends to give you for schooling. Your education plans. Long and short-term goals after school. Family ties in Nigeria with birth certificate of parents and siblings. Landed properties can also be used. Before submitting reapplication, make sure you fully tackle the following topics -purpose in Canada, finances and family ties |

Simitrendy: please how do you upload your caq I apologize for the late response. There is a separate space provided for it on the CIC portal. If you filled the questionnaire correctly and stated that you were going to Montréal, the letter would be a part of your checklist |

Kemdil: I heard either one can serve. Some people wrote General and got approval as well. I’ve written both though I submitted my application with “Academics”. I’ll definitely say general is easier.
NB: My General got expired and I wrote Academics because of study route; but that was before I heard General can serve too. U can still seek the opinions of “Gurus” in the house. Thanks. I think I’ll go with General. I don’t really have much time to read |

Kemdil: Good morning all. I’m just curious to know how people coped while waiting for PPR OR eligibility review. To think I just applied and I can barely do anything without thinking of my application. Is it really possible to get your mind off it?? To all that has received PPR y’all are STRONG! Honestly, I don’t know some ppl handled 8 months of this wait. Barely a month since submission and I’m always on this thread or checking my email. Waiting for something to drop. I’ve tried focusing on other things but I just keep coming back here. Quick question, for NSE request, which IELTS is better, general or Academic?? |

Does this mean eligibility and background checks has started already? Upload your letter immediately!!!!! |

TennieYF: Please how long does it take to get a response if you send documents via web forms and emails? I sent mine yesterday and no response or acknowledgement. Also, how do you know which Visa office is handling your file? I sent to Nairobi, Lagos and London. Only London has replied that they are not the ones in charge of my case and I should send a web form which I have done. I sent some documents to be added to my application as I noticed that the ones I submitted were blurry, especially my bank statement. Would they honor this or respond? Hello, I messaged Lagos via Webform on May 26 for my medicals and they responded by 10am May 27th. I messaged Lagos first cause I understand that they are responding for processing new applications now. |

Emmytobs: Hello house,
Hope everyone here is doing well.
I applied for my study permit application May 11. Having completed my biometrics on May 14, it's been quite a while since my Background Check has been in processing. I'll like to actually know the average time it takes for one's background check to be processed.
Thanks. We have the same timeline. Wow. Application Submitted——————- May 11 Biometrics Request————————May 13 Biometrics Completed——————- May 14 NSE Request———————————May 25 Medicals Passed ————————- May 31 NSE Submitted——————————June 11 Eligibility—————————————June 14 I can’t wait to add BVL & PPR to the list. I’m really hoping and praying to God that I get a positive decision. Have you gotten NSE request or did you submit upfront?? |

I tried to look for ghost updates but I didn’t have the tenacity to keep checking my profile every morning.
DOCUMENTS SUBMITTED - International Passport ( With 2travel histories) Digital Photo All IMM forms Admission Letter with Tuition Information attached
Client Information 1. Request to be exempted from NSE Yeah, I know . I started the application with the mindset of following the regular route. I wrote a five paragraphed letter telling them that I had TOEFL and didn’t want to write IELTS 2. TOEFL Results 3. Statement of Purpose I’m going for a masters course that aligns with my undergraduate degree. I pointed this out, I even made reference to my transcripts. 4. Course Breakdown and Registration Details 5. University Degree certificate 6. University Transcripts 7. Resume 8. NYSC Discharge Certificate 9. Police Clearance Certificate 10. Covid Vaccine Card (I was prepared) 11. Family Identity Cards
Proof of Fund Section (Sponsor- Mom) 1. Sponsor Letter 2. International Passport 3. Birth Certificate of Applicant Showing Relationship 4. MyBankStatement 5. Tax Certificate 6. Invoices 7. Land Documents 8. Car Documents I haven’t paid tuition so no receipts.
NOTE
When I received the NSE request on May 25, I was like why nah... I already sent a letter stating I wasn’t interested. But my cousin in Canada convinced me that I should follow their instructions and write the exam. Now, I’m very happy I listened . I registered, read, and wrote the exam within a week. Reading within days was so stressful, but Thank God, I achieved a band 8.
For the proof of funds section, I had so many doubts because I wasn’t sure if I established my sponsor well. My dad retired 7 years ago and my mom is a business woman. My family agreed to use my mom as the primary sponsor. The issue lied with the type of business my mom did. She was into farming and wholesale distribution of agricultural products and services. I had no idea of how to use her as a sponsor because she registered her CAC in 1992 but she never incorporated it. Her trade was very informal and there were few documents to submit. I almost employed the services of an agent for advice on her profile as I didn’t know what to do. I am dropping this here because I saw someone ask a question on this earlier and I hope this helps.
1. I told her to pay for personal tax to state government SIRS. I abandoned her CAC documents which required FIRS and incorporation. 2. I asked her to provide invoices of her business transactions. I used some from last year and earlier this year. 3. I dropped 6 months MBS of her transaction account. (CIC didn’t ask for 1 year in the NSE request, so i didn’t bother dropping it. I figured 6 months of her account was overwhelming as she performs daily transactions and her 6mth statement was already going to 100 pages. 4. I made sure her letter explained what she does and how much she was going to use to sponsor my education. She also stated that I was her only dependent and that her and my father were going to cover all expenses. 5. I dropped documents for all her assets and some of my fathers assets. I didn’t have time to do a price evaluation of property so I only dropped Survey Plans and Approved Plans. I didn’t drop tenancy agreements. 6. I was very truthful.
Appreciations
Glory to Almighty God. My application wasn’t perfect but he made it good enough for an approval in the VOs eyes.
To My family, for their support.
And finally, to everyone on this thread, especially those that posted their stories, the issues they had and how they tackled it. A huge Thank you to the gurus that took their time to answer questions and put them in an easy-to-follow format. My application was a DIY and without Nairaland Canada Visa Thread, this result may have not been possible.
The type of joy I had seeing the approval this morning ehn, it deserves to be shared. I pray for positive results/approvals for all hopefuls on this platform. Mathew 7:7 |

lauretha: I just found out my visa was denied. Second time based on something to do with assets. What do I do? Defer your admission and order for your GCMS note to find out the complete details. You mentioned that there was no sponsor letter, I suggest you correct that in your next application. Also, write a killer SOP explaining why you want to study in Canada, your short and long term goals back in Nigeria, and family ties that connect you to Nigeria. You can find out more information about SOP on the first page of this thread. Goodluck |

childgodly: Oh gosh i just realized that this May 6th thing only applies to people who did their biometrics before the 15th!! The available dates filled up so quickly. This isn't even a question but now I'm just very worried. Concerning the medical thing, mine showed up as passed today and I did it about 2 weeks before my application was submitted so I would say just give it time. I didn't even get a call from the center or anything. You see that May 15th thing ehn, one side of my head doesn’t believe it while the other is hopeful they follow it. The date is a general date for all applications done outside Canada, including China, London and a bunch of other countries. For Nigerian applications with a backlog dating back to 2020, providing decisions on all by August 6, 2021, would be nothing short of a miracle. I don’t know about other countries tho. I’m hoping Nigeria follows and provides decision in 8 weeks but if not, please don’t stress yourself. It will come out and hopefully with a positive outcome. |

stevedestiny: Good day beautiful people. Please I need help o!!!
How can my sponsor get mybankstatement to be uploaded? He says the bank asked him to log on to his app and download the bank statemtent and send it. But someone on this platform said mybankstatement is just a certificate.
Please any direction on how he can get it? Bank is First Bank. Thank you Hello, this service is fairly new to firstbank and the Information is not available at every branch. Your sponsor needs to go to customer service and convince them to contact FirstContact or Hq for directions on how to get the certificate. The service costs 1,000 naira. Here is a picture of the form, contact me if you still need the pdf of the form. It takes 2 working days to process. After which the form would be sent to your sponsors email or phone number via WhatsApp. Firstbank would do their best to convince you that they don’t do it. It is up to your sponsor to also do his best to convince them that they do. My sponsor spent 4hrs in the bank doing this and the certificate was released the next day. Good luck.

UpcomingCanadia: Is it advisable to apply for Canadian student Visa after May 15 for September intake Hmm... there is no clear answer to this. First, have you been admitted? Second, do you intend to accept the admission? If yes to both questions, go ahead and apply. Your visa would definitely be processed. It may not arrive in time but you can defer the admission or start lecture online. May 15 deadline doesn’t mean the application won’t be accepted or processed after. It is just a deadline for faster application processing. |

emmalextemtop: Hello people!
Please which is advisable to use as sponsor? Company where i currently works My dad's friend/associate, a business man because he has up to 10m in his account . Though my dad has assests (houses, lands, cars) Hello, To the best of my knowledge using a non-biological sponsor is quite stressful as it requires the establishment of a connection between you and the person. Also, the visa officer takes into consideration the type of account used. If it is a business account, the money you require should be less than 10% of what’s in the account. Also, every single board of director associated with the organization need to sign the sponsorship letter or write a separate letter confirming their knowledge. If it is a personal account, the money you require should be less than 30% of what’s in the account. The visa officer (VO) doesn’t expect your dads associate to go broke sponsoring you. It doesn’t work that way. If it was your biological parent, you may be able to convince the VO that they want to spend all their funds in you but not your uncle, a friend, a company, or a business associate. For a clearer picture, if your tuition and living expenses total 8M, you need <30M for an uncle/ friend sponsor account <9M for biological parents <15M for biological sibling <60M for any business account that is not owned by your parents Either way, each situation is unique. If you’re sure you can sell your dad’s associate sponsoring you with that account balance in your SOP, go for it. |

Also, I just noticed an update on the CIC page. It gave a deadline of submission for May 15, 2021 to receive a decision by August 6, 2021.
I don’t know if this is applicable to Nigerians, but I just felt that I should put this out there. |

If i take it ti carlcare they will tell me to drop my phone for three weeks, can handle that. Still i honestly don't regret buying the phone |
