Opsy14: Hi, I just recently joined nairaland, and would like to ask a question. I applied for my study permit and completed my biometric on May 14 2021. I didn't submit my letter of explanation which I later found out is key in a study permit application. I graduated secondary school in July 2019 and am just applying for a visa, will this affect my application. Is it necessary for me to submit my letter of explanation as I don't have plenty gap years, and will they understand that the covid is the cause of the gap year in 2020? Will they understand or do I still need to submit it? I think you should write a letter and send it by via webform. Don’t let the VO think too much on your application, provide the necessary details. |

maralina: On God lol, I actually traveled 5months prior to when my program started, that was 4yrs ago. My brother was at the airport today and they didn’t let him travel even after showing his travel letter; his program starts in September btw. The new policy is so frustrating though smh Were you able to work during those five months. It think the policy was reinforced because of Covid. They don’t want any non-essential travelling |

emmalextemtop: Okay, for the plans now, will it shows the worth if the land in a any guess to the VO?
Ohh whaoO, we have a similar case too, my sponsor (dad) is into cocoa farming, piggery, poultry biz...but not registered at all since it is just buying and selling... Am thinking the receipts of several months and years we issued out for buyers, can we provide them as prove that we are doing such biz?
And for your mum's farming biz, what are those docs you dropped to prove your point that farming is informal?
Your advice is needed too. Thanks! Let’s discuss off the thread. I’ve reached out via mail. |

More of it Jerryjack022: I am a part-time silent reader here but I must say that the informations gotten from this forum really helped my success story. Thanks to everyone contributing here, God will attend to your needs. All the glory be to God.
The journey began February 2018 when I received my LOA from Cape Breton University, Nova Scotia to study post degree in public health (2yrs programme). The LOA valid for a year and I applied for visa march 2019 for may intake which was refused on April base on two reasons; 1) VO not satisfy that I will leave canada after my study base on my employment situation 2) VO not satisfy that I will leave canada after my study base on my family tie in canada and my home country
After the refusal, I paused and checked the documents that I submitted from there I discovered my mistakes which are; No Employmen Letter No pay slip No personal bank statements No work ID No leave letter No prove of family tie at all ontop of that am single, 32 yrs of age
Because of the pandemic, the university issued me a new LOA valid from May 2020 to May 2021
I started doing my underground preparation which took me 2yrs, I must tell you from the beginning of this journey I have been experiencing delay but God later turned it to blessings for me.
My Timeline Second time application Submitted March 17, 2021 NSE request dropped april 14 (replied with letter of proficiency from my university here in 9ja and my sponsor is my brother living in USA so he submitted his normal SOA for a year and reference letter from his bank)
Then long waiting period started I ordered for gcms note June 5 I reapplied for admission after my LOA expired June 5 and new one came a week later, submitted it through webform
Upfront medica June 22 Gcms note arrived June 24 (criminality passed, compliance required, info sharing with USA in progress because I was refused USA visa in 2017 and eligibility is blank)
Submitted my medical e-slip and some other docs through webform June 28 Medical updated to pass June 29 and eligibility review started together PPR and Correspondence Letter June 30
N.B: I have Bsc in Science Laboratory Technology (Plant Science Option), graduated 2015 and 2yrs vocational training in private hospital started working there as administrative officer/Laboratory Technician 2017. |

emmalextemtop: Congrats!
For the land, what docs were used for prove? And was there no CAC docs? Hi! I think I mentioned it. I used Survey plans for lands that have no building and Approved plans for lands with buildings. They usually have the names of the owner boldly written on them, the address of the land, and a stamp from the Town Planning office. For the CAC documents, I didn’t think it was wise to drop my mom’s because she had not incorporated it for over 30 yrs now and paying tax for it would have been very expensive. So I opted for a personal tax from SIRS and dropped that. Her SIRS tax was calculated as a farmer. Farming businesses in Nigeria are usually informal and I did my best to explain that to the VO while dropping as many documents and proof of what she does as I could. |

Oreoluwamipo: Please how and what site can I order my gcms note from Nigeria? + how much will it cost me please? www.GCMsnotes.comwww.applygcms.comYou visit the website, click on the package you want GCMS or CBSA, pay, fill and sign the consent form and submit. You should get an estimated date of delivery. GCMS note is usually $20 and CBSA is $40 Or simply contact Anon123 on this platform, I think a lot ppl have gotten their notes with his help. |

may99: PPR....... May 11 applicant. NSE route.......
I was so shocked seeing two mails this morning. God I thank you. Glory............
Timeline dropping soon. Long Post Alert Application Submitted——————- May 11 Biometrics Request————————May 13 Biometrics Completed——————- May 14 NSE Request———————————May 25 Medicals Passed ————————- May 31 NSE Submitted——————————June 11 Eligibility—————————————June 14 PPR&BVR————————————June 30 I tried to look for ghost updates but I didn’t have the tenacity to keep checking my profile every morning. DOCUMENTS SUBMITTED - International Passport ( With 2travel histories) Digital Photo All IMM forms Admission Letter with Tuition Information attached Client Information 1. Request to be exempted from NSE Yeah, I know . I started the application with the mindset of following the regular route. I wrote a five paragraphed letter telling them that I had TOEFL and didn’t want to write IELTS 2. TOEFL Results 3. Statement of Purpose I’m going for a masters course that aligns with my undergraduate degree. I pointed this out, I even made reference to my transcripts. 4. Course Breakdown and Registration Details 5. University Degree certificate 6. University Transcripts 7. Resume 8. NYSC Discharge Certificate 9. Police Clearance Certificate 10. Covid Vaccine Card (I was prepared) 11. Family Identity Cards Proof of Fund Section (Sponsor- Mom) 1. Sponsor Letter 2. International Passport 3. Birth Certificate of Applicant Showing Relationship 4. MyBankStatement 5. Tax Certificate 6. Invoices 7. Land Documents 8. Car Documents I haven’t paid tuition so no receipts. NOTE When I received the NSE request on May 25, I was like why nah... I already sent a letter stating I wasn’t interested. But my cousin in Canada convinced me that I should follow their instructions and write the exam. Now, I’m very happy I listened . I registered, read, and wrote the exam within a week. Reading within days was so stressful, but Thank God, I achieved a band 8. For the proof of funds section, I had so many doubts because I wasn’t sure if I established my sponsor well. My dad retired 7 years ago and my mom is a business woman. My family agreed to use my mom as the primary sponsor. The issue lied with the type of business my mom did. She was into farming and wholesale distribution of agricultural products and services. I had no idea of how to use her as a sponsor because she registered her CAC in 1992 but she never incorporated it. Her trade was very informal and there were few documents to submit. I almost employed the services of an agent for advice on her profile as I didn’t know what to do. I am dropping this here because I saw someone ask a question on this earlier and I hope this helps. 1. I told her to pay for personal tax to state government SIRS. I abandoned her CAC documents which required FIRS and incorporation. 2. I asked her to provide invoices of her business transactions. I used some from last year and earlier this year. 3. I dropped 6 months MBS of her transaction account. (CIC didn’t ask for 1 year in the NSE request, so i didn’t bother dropping it. I figured 6 months of her account was overwhelming as she performs daily transactions and her 6mth statement was already going to 100 pages. 4. I made sure her letter explained what she does and how much she was going to use to sponsor my education. She also stated that I was her only dependent and that her and my father were going to cover all expenses. 5. I dropped documents for all her assets and some of my fathers assets. I didn’t have time to do a price evaluation of property so I only dropped Survey Plans and Approved Plans. I didn’t drop tenancy agreements. 6. I was very truthful. Appreciations Glory to Almighty God. My application wasn’t perfect but he made it good enough for an approval in the VOs eyes. To My family, for their support. And finally, to everyone on this thread, especially those that posted their stories, the issues they had and how they tackled it. A huge Thank you to the gurus that took their time to answer questions and put them in an easy-to-follow format. My application was a DIY and without Nairaland Canada Visa Thread, this result may have not been possible. The type of joy I had seeing the approval this morning ehn, it deserves to be shared. I pray for positive results/approvals for all hopefuls on this platform. |

Wow. Wow. This is huge. Congratulations To answer your question, check the attached picture. Lifeis247: Update:
Application submitted 9th May with upfront medicals and IELTS. Biometrics 10th May. Since then, no further update whatsoever, just silence. I was just reading up on how to request for GCMS note this week. Then, checked my profile this morning to see Medicals updated to pass 28th June and the Original Passport Request and Correspondence letter dropped in my profile this morning (29th June).
I must thank @Lekiboboe especially for looking at my SOP twice. God Bless you man!. Thanks to everyone supporting this platform with helpful tips and guides.
Also; I want to confirm if a single dose of the vaccine qualifies one for quarantine waiver or one must complete both jabs before a waiver is possible?

LadyBlaq: A colleague of mine in a neighboring state died after taking the shot. It was said that he had underlying illness and as a result, he had blood clotting. Due to the unavailability of blood cleanser/thinner, he died before they could fly to Lagos to get one.
I have also seen people take the full dose and they are fine. I see it more like a 50/50 thing and I am not going to gamble on my life like that. After the death of my colleague, preconceived fear could even kill me before any underlying illness if any....I am too scared to take it. Wow. Sorry about that oh. That’s a terrible experience. I heard the blood clotting side effect is a rarity. My aged parents also got the vaccine and they have underlying issues too. They’re now fully vaccinated or I would have been scared of them completing it. Thank God ooh. If your mind is against it, then don’t take it. Good luck. |
