As a first time car user, is this a good choice? What are the critical things I need to know about this model, and about Honda in general? First thing is to carry out a prepurchase inspection before purchasing the vehicle . It's a good choice if you carry out the aforementioned. Good luck on your prospective purchase |

remi4ever: I have an issue with my ac now. The inner seal is leaking gas. I've not been motivated to do it because of this issue. I also don't think that should prevent or deter any diagnosis. If that's the assumption professionals use on the field while fixing vehicles, a lot of cars would be scrapped daily Once again apply all loads you can apply and revert with alternator output voltage. Thanks |

accelion: Hello all,
I’m seeking a reliable automotive electrical engineer in Lagos to diagnose and fix the ongoing fuel consumption and power loss issues in my car.
I’ve tried many mechanics and electricians, but most don’t understand the problem. No disrespect, but my experience has been frustrating — many rely on guesswork, delegate work to apprentices, or rush jobs without proper diagnostics. This issue requires coordinated live data readings and interpretation, rather than trial and error.
Vehicle Details:
- Car: 2013 Honda Accord - Engine: 2.4L 4-cylinder i-VTEC (K24) - Location: Ikeja, Lagos
The Problem:
- Extremely poor fuel economy: Between 7–11 MPG (3–4.5 km/l), even after repairs. - Loss of performance: The car drives okay for the first few minutes, then the power drops, and the throttle feels hard to press - No current CEL (Check Engine Light): I’ve resolved the previous P0420 by replacing the cat with an OEM Tokunbo - All basic sensors and components have been replaced
Replaced Components So Far:
- MAF Sensor - Upstream & Downstream O2 Sensors - Catalytic Converter (OEM Tokunbo) - Fuel Pump & Fuel Rail - High-Pressure Fuel Pump (HPFP) - Purge Valve - Cleaned throttle body - Checked for vacuum leaks - Reset adaptations
Despite all this, the issue persists. I’m convinced it’s one or two remaining faults, likely electrical or ECU-related, but I need someone who truly understands data stream diagnostics, electrical signals, and real-time performance analysis — not someone who just reads OBD codes. Could the exhaust system (muffler) be blocked, causing the car to choke? Could it be the ECU malfunctioning? Whatever it is, I'd rather use a verified diagnosis to figure it out. I scanned, and there are no DTCs.
I’m exhausted and almost considering selling the car because of this.
What I Need:
- A real electrical engineer, not a guess-based mechanic - Someone with access to advanced diagnostics (OBD, live stream, volt/amp checks) - Preferably with Honda experience - Lagos-based.
Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated. I'd also answer any questions you have for me regarding the car. Thanks! Call multiautolab on 08165520837 (whats app) |

How can a technician be working on an airbag system and not disconnect the negative terminal of the battery and wait for the electrons of capacitor within the airbag ecu to be discharged. After changing the airbag replace the srs ecu from a vehicle with no history for recorded crash on srs ecu. Because if you retain same srs control unit, light would still remain on or on the other hand clear crash data report with a airbag crash data clearing tool. Good luck on your quest |

snadguy007: Good evening sir
Intermittent starting problem on an 2007 honda Accord . Battery is new and all dash lights come on but when key is turned to start, nothing happens no sound at all.
It happens frequently and after turning on and off for some mins, ithe engine starts but the last two times it happened, the first roadside mechanic hit the starter with a spanner and it came on. Second time, another roadside mechanic helped me to connect the starter to the battery directly and asked me to turn on the ignition and it started. I took the car to my mechanic the following day to reassess it and said the kick is still okay and that he will 'service' the kick which he did. Now I'm faced with the same issue again today as the car wouldn't start.
Please what could be the root cause because I don't want to replace the kick and still have the same issue again What genuine service parts did he use to service the starter motor. Carry out a voltage drop test on starter motor. Your issue sounds like a bad starter motor or a bad ground but in reality it might be something else. That's why you need proper diagnosis |

Valtteri: Okay, thank you. And I don’t think you have enough information about the ride I drive. W164 now uses M276 engine?? Lol, okay.
Let’s even assume the cost of a 2011 ML350 engine is N8m, doesn’t it make sense to you that a part costs N6m. I can as well just buy a new engine.
It’s like saying transmission is N2m, but to fix a part of the gear is N1.5m. Does that make any sense? " I presume". Well it's your choice. If engine is cheaper go for it. Let me get something na brand new engine you wan buy abi used (toks). Anyways all I can wish you once more is good luck |

Valtteri: Well, I was at Radautoworks this morning, and I can’t say I’m impressed.
They first billed me N43k to scan my car and bring up the same codes I already showed them when I got there.
Okay, after explaining the codes, they sent me bill just to “open up the engine and reinstall it” to “inspect”. That’s over N350k without solving the issue oh.
I told them I will not just pay any amount without even knowing what the cost of repairs is first. After wasting hours of my time there, they sent me the bill to have the camshaft and timing chain replaced. Over N6m. Not for engine oh. Camshaft and timing chain. For a 2011 ML350.
How much is engine? How much is the car?
Una never ready. I don't think you have enough information about the ride you drive. Your engine should be an M276 I presume. You are too quick to ask about how much an engine cost neglecting those vital information you need to have so you don't go the money pit. However, its your choice shebi na engine cheap pass. No wahala na for this kind M276 you go know say no be everytime dem dey rush go buy engine. Good luck on your quest |

Please where can I get the original fuel pump and estimate The fuel pump would not result to a leak detected except there is a leak from the sealing o-ring. If its been scanned and you have a p0456 or p0455. Evap emission system (large leak detected) or evap emission system (small leak detected). This goes to show you have a leak along the evap system. A smoke machine would reveal where such leak is Other suspected areas are 1) evap line 2) fuel pump seal as previously mentioned 3).charcoal canister 4) fuel tank cover 5) leak detection pump |

Pogba12: 2018 That year of santa fe came with a good engine. Oil change has to be synthetic. You would experience oil shortage which can be solved not necessarily by changing piston and rings like every road side mechanic does. Carry out necessary recalls/campaigns and technical service bulletins and the vehicle should servile you well. Avoid 500 naira engine oil filter. If you need technical service bulletins you can reach out. Have worked with one of the Hyindai dealerships in Canada so I know first hand info about them |

Please I need serious help. My Lexus Rx350 2008 model SUV has the check engine flashing. Each time its flashing the power and performance of the engine reduces. I had a scan run on it it complain about the no 3 and 5 coil which i have change with another one,the cylinder misfire. All that can be done has been done even to the extent of changing all the spark and ignition plugs but still the problem persists.
Please what can I do, spending a lot on the car. Could it be electrical problems?and the car is working well before,i just notice the oil is dry and finish quickly,so when it was the time to change the oil for servicing i change both gear and engine oil, at that point the mechanic advice me to ring the engine,so agreed with him,so go-ahead at the same time he condemn the crown-shaft as well, we fix all this, after ringing the given did not bring out the good voice,i was told the timing is not correct they brig the engine down to re-timing it back....at the end of it,the check engine flashing. Each time its flashing the power and performance of the engine reduces and i was told again is wiring problem, some rewire even told me that my brain bus has to replace, please sir/ma someone shuold please assist me ooo......i have spend less that 500K STILL not getting the result ,thank you help your brother, First place to start is to change your mechanics, you were dealing with quacks. Oil drying up shouldn't equate to the next thing changing rings. Secondly, in correct valve timing Thirlby, compression on each cylinder might not be at the right specification any more |

Fieryblaze: Hi everyone, I have a 2015 Mercedes ML350. The car was working normally, then last night it just wouldn't engage gear, it just revved, called the mechanic and he came and said the sump seal was bad. We fixed the leakage, called someone to reset the EGS.
But here's the issue: The car still wouldn't move unless the mechanic uses his scanner to force it by probably bypassing the EGS or something.
The error code is "UD426"
The mechanic is saying I need to replace the entire EGS but I don't trust his judgement
Anyone here dealt with this before? Looking for someone who understands how to do the proper TCU or transmission adaptation on these Mercedes models. Has any components been changed that you need to re adapt to the control unit for it to work well. Where is the location of this vehicle |

The last one happened yesterday and now, the part to tight it in on the engine is gone. They suggest I change the engine. Gambling to get only the engine block was not advised according to them.
What do you think? Have you heard of heli coil? I guess the thread is what was rounded off. If its that get a helicoil meant for that bolt size and fix it in and lock up your bolt if it's still good |

No doubt every manufacturer has been coming out lately with one design flaw or the other in terms of reliability of their brands and Hyundai isn't left out. The newer versions of Hyundai are gaining reliability with the brand still been rated as one of the best recently. Their Hybrid systems are top notch with little to no known issue with them. For any one using the Hyundai there is just one simple rule of thumb which Nigerians till today don't know and that's why when their hyundai cars end up at the mechanic. Their mechanics continue to blame the brand as been awful. As for the GdI all throughout my fixing of over a thousand of hyundai I had only two reason to change components on the GDI system on newer hyundai like the kona 2024 (stucked opened high-pressure pump) and on an older santafe 2017. Had reason to change high pressure injectors on the smart steam engines which had injector recaĺls and these were done free of charge through which the manufacturers beared the cost. All new Hyundai are going 4 cylinders which just the palisade known to be a v6. Many car owners should under stand there are factory errors and I must say this if every Nigerian had first had information about factory errors (recalls/campaign and TSb) cut across all brand of vehicles then no one would drop a kobo to buy any car irrespective of the brand. As for the man asking about the Hyindai sonata 2013. The engine had a factory recall were the connecting rod had a bearing clearance and a lot had been changed with brand new engines in saner climes free of charge if your engine failed a bearing clearance test. So avoid that car Many Nigerians, with the case of the Hyundai sonata 2013 would still go ahead to buy a so called tokunbo engine which had engine recalls and if it goes kaput they blame their village people . How do you reconcile this?? Make I stop here biko |

I want to change madam's car to Hyundai Elantra GT 2016-2018 but I was told about the engine factory defects that made the company did a recall on some of them.
I still want to know which of the year should I avoid? Cos that's the only vehicle in mind for me to buy The Hyundai elantra GT production stopped at 2021. Now when you talk about recalls you need to under stand that its based on Region where the vehicle is coming from. Recalls in Canada sometimes could be different or might not exist on same brand of vehicle and model year in the USA or any other region. So to begin with what region would the elantra Gt be coming from. I can give you first hand info about Hyundai up to 2026. If you must know there are rules for every Hyundai to be used successfully. Follow them and you would be fine. How do I know I am a tech with one of the dealerships in Canada |

stokfrick: Pls where can I get a very good rewire to check my car for parasitic drain. I was driving my car and parked to ease myself. After that, When I tried restarting the car it refused to start. But the dashboard screen light on the driver's side would come on. The red battery icon light was showing steady. I called my mechanic and he said the alternator is faulty and not charging the battery. We changed alternator and the battery light disappeared and the car started.
After a few days, one morning I dove to work, parked it. After close of work wanted to drive home and it refused to start, called a battery charger, he said battery was down we jump started the car, I got home, parked, then the following day car refuses to start. Called my mechanic he said could be the battery is bad or a drain on the battery while car is parked. But I also noticed that if I restarted the car 5 minutes after parking, it would start except when left for long hours before restarting.
What could be the problem. Secondly I have heard of how rewire guys turn simple electrical faults onto complex ones, so, I am scared. If it's a parasitic drain is it a simple problem that the average rewire guy can handle?
Finally if I am to get a new battery what best brands should I go for Get a sensible Tech and leave quacks |
