The same profiling we are fighting occurs amongst youths because why would you think it is an abomination for a youth to buy a car unless he does fraud. There are so many options out there to make legit money but once you are a youth you are automatically disqualified because of how the society sees you.

I don't know where you are getting your values from but i can tell you that they're very wrong. In January 2022 even before the war Russia spent 275 billion Russian rubles on defence which is about $3.8bn now and in April 2022 they spent more than double of what was spent during the pre-war period so go get your facts right before you think $56m is what Russia spends annually on Defense. Even football teams in England spends more than $56m to sign a player.

They are not ready. It is over a month now and the price is still very expensive because I just checked the price to book a local flight now and it is still expensive. Imagine flying two passengers for 100k then compare flying over 50 passengers for 30k even though the average passenger onboard is more than 50. When they have sense they'll know they made a big mistake.

I really wonder at the kind of economics and price analysis that warranted the 50k-minimum move, honestly. Before, people could just pay for flights without even planning for it, now one have to really budget and sacrifice for it. And to think about the effect the price increase has had on substitute services like road travel is all the more sad.

Flight is a luxury service and so the demand is very elastic to price changes (especially increases). Its a game of numbers and common sense. Whatever per unit increase in revenue that the price hike has brought, it has been completely eroded by the extremely low patronage. They were better off flying at full capacity at less than 30, than above 50k with very few passengers. At least, that would improve their revenue while they sort out the profitability issues. Now, they are losing both ways because their operating costs (fixed and variable) have not reduced, but their revenue have greatly reduced.

He should just stay with the current job since he is having less expense he can save enough and come up with a start up later alongside the job so even if they end up disposing him he has something to fall back to and getting a job is by what you can input into a company not by where you have worked before so he can work on acquiring a skill too.

To make things easier for us I suggest you give imaginary figures as offered salaries from the various companies so we can advise you better since it's obvious that you can't get a career growth from either of the companies.

But on the current stand I suggest you don't go to your previous company, they won't treat you like other staffs and they may dispose you easily too if you don't meet up with their current expectations, , moreover your current job seems not standard enough but since you can save more from it, I think you have the better option in your comfort zone, find a way to build your career (wait you didn't even state the career type too) from your comfort zone or learn a new career type.

Nothing beats rest of mind, only federal govt job has 80% job security, the others is completely based on your average performance.

If this is not stupidity then I don't know what it is. You are comparing much more advanced countries to Nigeria here. We all know the tollgate is a means to fund someone's pocket not like there is any other thing being done with the funds.

And in this Buhari era, I don't think I will advice someone to do things that will translate to more fuel consumption. I have already packed my two SUVs since two weeks ago and commuting with either the corolla or the civic. Even today, I barely got home from work with the corolla's guage in reserve. I'm still wondering how I'm gonna get to work tomorrow.

I have been seriously praying before now that electric vehicles should become the mainstream in 9ja roads cos 2022 will be hell for Nigerians as regards the petroleum industry.

And I just wish I could have some startup capital like Elon Musk does (even one-tenth of his capital is enough for me), and I will launch affordable BEVs for Nigerians to the chagrin and shame of Buhari and Dangote.
