On Sunday during lectures @ risk free associates, we were told that the syllabus has somehow been ammended, but we dont have a clear picture yet.
We were told that succesful candidates in the old PEII will be allowed to combine Advanced Audit& Assurance with the remaining subjects in the new PEII except for PSA which they have been exempted from.
I want to believe the information is from a reliable source,though the syllabus on The Institute's website is not reflecting the ammendment.
I have tried to call the Examinations dept but their phone is switched off

I heard that the new ICAN syllabus will be modified, does anybody have any information about it? I pray they move PSA to PE1 and audit& assurance to PE 11. I want to get done with ICAN this MAY DIET.

For those who have refrence in any paper in the Old syllabus, they are to write the refrenced subject(s) cos the old syllabus will still available till Nov 2010( or 2011 cant remeber). if you have pdf file or acrobat reader you can download the syllabus from the institutes website

jarus. although ican exams may not be as difficult as it is being exaggerated but i think you are oversimplifying it too. how on earth can you crash for ican exam in 5 days and yet win prizes or cover 15%. hmmmmmmmm bros. well some people are born genius sha.
i started from ATS 1, used to b a science student, just passed my pe 2 and failed only once in ATS 3 due to poor preparation. but it isnt that simple or hard .

i did pe2 as well passed all papers. wen my frnd told me the result was out i tot it was a joke.

poster dont mind the nay sayers the dont understand that some people are shy by nature, but the truth is shyness can be overcomed. my very first post on nairaland was somethin like this" i am very shy can any girl fall in lov with me". some people abused me but not all nairalanders av a leaking brian, some comments really helped.

this is my advice: your shyness is as a result of fear-fear of rejection by the girl, fear of criticism from onlookers, friends or neighbours, but i av learnt that to really get ahead in life and in anything for that matter you have to face your fears and overcome it.

That it is a good biz doesnt mean money will be flowin in like that oo. like every other biz u have to nuture it till it grows there will always be ups and downs. aand u av to seperate ur personal expenses from that of the biz. spend part of your profit and not part of ur capital.

it is not even a must u av a bike or delivery van. all gas plants have delivery van(s) and can supply you depending on the quantity u want to buy better still u can hire or watever a bike to carry it down to your shop, warehouse, company or wateva uve got. but first u need to learn how to refill, transfer, change valve everytin that u need to know about the biz. you also need to know where and how to buy cylinders and u need information. U can learn from any of this distributors u see on the road it will be worth your while. and guess wat? u can add creativity as an educated person. Think & grow Rich.

Will just like to add that u reali nid to b informed, the gas market is more or less like a stock market when demand is high the price increases. if u buy when the price is high and suddenly it comes down again u are in for it o so strive hard to be informed bt fear not u can always pass the burden to the customers(final consumer).

your gladness,there is no need for you to beef me, that i am working in a gas company doesnt mean i am paid like those working in shell, i work in a gas company that has a gas plant say like working as an accounting officer in a filling station so beef me not i aint that rich yet im coming soon.

To answer your question(time did not permit me the other time, i had important issues to attend to). what matters most is location and how you can market youself. If u can find a shop very close to where most of the people use gas or at least a reasonable percentage of the people use gas and that is quite far from a gas plant(need not worry, gas plants are quite scarce) then i would say u are in biz. u can also do home delivery, market yourself to fastfoods, hotels and other poeole that use gas regularly(hostels, catering schools etc and some companies like Nigerian brewries, evans or those that use for industyrial purpose) u could be their supplier. it dosnt require much. A delivery van if u can afford or a bike depending on how big ur dream is. just go to any plant and register as a distributor se fini.

I just joined this Gas company some few months ago, to be precis July and i never knew opportunities exist in this biz. I have started using gas aty home and to tell u the truth it is more economical than kerosine. In my area where i live the closest gas plant is about God knows how many kilometers. I am already making plans to start a retail distribution in my area and to enligthen people on the economic benefit in using gas and that safety is guaranteed. If I tell you it is a good biz believe me cos i work as an accounting officer in the company, FAHOCH GAS km 5 Lasu-Isheri Rd, Opp Alimosho General Hospital.

hello DLI students.

Iam an ICAN student in PE II thinkin of putin in for DLI after my ACA and start from 300 level, but i av heard several times that some employers disciminate against DLI students or Part time students generally i.e students without NYSC discharge certificate. MY Questions:

You probably av heard of this things but still went on to do the program, WHY?

Do DLI students get exemption certificate from NYSC?

Is it really through employers discriminate against them? you probably know of someone who has completed the program an is working in a reputable org give examples

If u are a graduate of DLI wat is it like in the Labour(favour) market?

Would you advice anybody to put in for the program(if i were ur bro)
