I have asked this question a long time but didnt bother to find answers cos i gained admission to OOU but the faculty did not accept me cos i didnt have the O level requirements to study Accounting( i applied for DE with my ATS-ICAN and i use to be a science student).

Now i Need Answers please. i have my PE 1 in ICAN and thinkin of putting in for DLI after my ACA. pls Bros in the house i need ur guidance/inputs/opinions/suggestion everything. thanks.

Please i need ur advice, suggestions, opinions, counsel, admonition, just name it. i just gained admission to OOU to study accounting. I am an AAT and have been working for 2 years before this admission finally showed up(Full Time). I do not want to depend on my parents for everything while i am in school cos i am used to being independent and besides i come from a financially challenged family. wat do u think i can do to av some measure of financial independence. I do not want forever living products, Tianshi and the likes

i am a slim guy too and i want to be say a bit robust and muscular not neccessarily fat. it has not always bothered me because i can do any sport any robust person can do and can endure even longer than some robust people. but a few people tease me about my slim body nowadays and judge from wat they see. i once told a female friend of mine that i will love to join the Nigerian Army and she started laughing and said "with these your slim body". The truth is i can because i know i can. but if i dont do something fast i could lose many oppotunities because of this body of mine. i was never given the opportunity to join the school football team cos they must av concluded i am not strong enough, even my parents believe i cant do anything that requires physical exertion.

What can i do? nobody has really anwered that question.

I am a very nice person though i don’t think the time as come to start laying or getting laid- (i ain’t saying i am a saint).

I believe every lady should be treated nicely, at least the way I’ll like my sisters to be treated, but lately I’ve been reading this David De-angelo stuff about bieng nice to women being a mistake, that it does not attract ladies, that it actually repels them. i dont seem to comprehend it at all!

ICAN-means INSTITUTE OF CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS OF NIGERIA. it is a professional body that conducts exams for people intending to become professional accountants i.e chartered accountant and it issues guidelines and code of conduct by which members in practice must abide with. (in brief)

Presently ICAN exams are in 2 clases per say. The ATS and The Professional Exams. The Accounting Technician Scheme (ATS) is in 3 stages with 4 papers each making a total of 12 papers. This is good for people with 5 o'level credit maths And English COmpulsory. those with OND in accounting are exempted from stages 1&2. while those with OND in Banking & FIn are exempted fro stage 1 and 2 courses in stage 2( pls confirm).

The Graduate of the ATS is refered to as an accounting technician (AAT). he can perform accounting duties for medium enterprises and can effectively assit the chartered accountant in larger firms. simply put the AAT is a middle level professional Accountant.

the ATS result can also be used for direct entry to some universties. the exams are conducted 2wice yearly march and september(the exam is going on right now as i am typing this).

for the profeesional exams there are 5 stages FOUNDATION, Intermediate, PE 1-3. this is ideal for people with first degree or HND in any discipline. go to the intitute seccretariat At ebute-metta opposite denton police station to confirm the which stage(s) you shall be exempted from based on your qualification.other porfessional exams such as cibn, cis etc are also acceptable. if you can lay your hands on the syllabus you will know which stage you shall be exempted from. for accounting graduates from ican accredited schools they start from pe2, while accounting graduates from non accredited schools start from PE1.

i am findind it difficult to read that course called MIS, it is just too voluminous,can any body give me an hint on how to read it, though i passed IT in ATS 2 it was more by cramming rather than understanding, i dont want to do that again it is the best form of learning. please help kme out ooo.

Wat do U say About aving a body like Professional Accounting Students Association Of Nigeria-ATS(PASAN-ATS) (PASAN-ICAN). do u think it will go along way to help?

I will just like to add taht some schools accept AAT for direct entry. I just came back from Nssuka(UNN) on sunday. i went there to write their post Direct Entry Exam.

Some schools that accept it are: OAU, BENIN, NAU, UNN, OOU, etc consult jamb brochure 4 more.

i been off for sometime. aw are u doing? i dont seem to agree with you as regards AAT's going for I.T making it equivalent to the OND, NO! it does not. why do i say so?
HND students in polytecnics go fo SIWES dont They? In some universities 300/400 level students go for IT ( science oriented courses especially).

AAT students going for IT mingth be placed probably on the same level with OND students no doubt, that does not mean we are equal technically and professionally speaking, and if you are able to proove ur worth, you can be promoted ahead an OND student, dont you think so?

Sometimes in life we may av to swallow our pride. if going for IT we give us the type of recognition we deserve then i dont really think being placed on the same level with an OND matters. with time the boys will be seperated from the men, if you actually proove ur worth.

ONE battle after the other. let AAT be employed first. later we can figth for superiority over OND.

howa are u doing? i am mayorde, on nairaland.actually we av drafted our partnership agreement and put in place everyother thing as regards who will be the signatories to the account , the bank we are going to use,all other nessecary internal controls. i am a professional accounting student, i will keep the accounts and put in place every neccesary controls.

My concern is that we are not registered yet. do we need registration before we can proceed - and I guess the answer is yes, i may be wrong.wat i actually want to know is if we need a certificate of incoporation before we can open a CSCS account and how many signatories can there be to a CSCS account. if we will need a certificate of incoporation or registration of bis name, whichever applies aw do we go about it aw much does it cost.
