No family or struggling man who has an unmarried or divorced sister in the house knows peace. Lucia, what are you still doing in ur father's house at your age? IdiAmin1: Madam, you didn't remember this story in 2007 and 2011 until after the 2015 elections that saw Buhari sailing through.
You are one of the reasons why people of other tribes disrespect and see all of us as opportunists.
Anu mpama You did not even mention the many flaws of the opportunistic write up. First she was Mrs. Eze, but now Mrs. Ilonzo. She wants Buhari to govern like Yew of Singapore. Does she know that under Yew, the state barned certain foods and regulated peoples' behavior to extent that you could not freely choose ur associates (freedom of association). You could not chew gums whether by presciption or not (pursuit of happiness). Press was hamstrung and regulated by State (freedom of expression). Yew became legendary because Singapore after MANY years under him made progress. What would have happened if the country failed after Yew's oppressive regime? Will Mama Ilonzo be willing to allow GMB to rule for nearly 20 years like Yew bearing in mind the fact that things will get worse before they get better? Is she not going to shout 'marginalization' ? Will her charms only work when she becomes Buharis Associate? She must be a leech, detractor and gold digger. The President must avoid such people if he must succeed. |

Seriously?? According to oral history, western style clothes only came into the present day Delta state as recently as the 1930s, but even at that it is surprising that two decades after, kids went to school butt naked. In a bid for the European imperialists to sell their manufactured products, foreign textile materials and sewing machines were imported into the country, and the presence of these products made it possible for people in Delta, Ukwuaniland for example, to take up tailoring as an occupation. Before then, the Onicha-Ukwuani people were weavers of the local cloth called 'nchichi or 'ukor ogbolu,' a kind of cover cloth. This cloth is small in size, made of cotton and tied around the body. This was their mode of dressing before the influx of western style fashion which stifled the local industry.
At the risk of anachronism (judging past events using contemporary standards), I am seriously wondering why these children were not covered with nchichi before being shipped off to school. I can see one little boy at the extreme right who is the only one not in his birthday suit.
All so note that majority of the kids in the photo are male, unlike now when the opposite is the case. How times have truly changed. From the photo I recognize my Bomadi friends. One is a very senior military man, another a top ranking politician, yet another is a foreign based business magnate. Ijaw I salute una o o o. |

Stancity: Peugeot 404 was "the car" of the early 70s except you owned a Mercedes Benz 280s. By late 70s Peugeot 504 GL or L was already the in thing and 404 was naturally relegated to "nuturu m, nuturu m". The early 80s saw the emergence of 504 GR, and the 2000 version with a/c (ntu oyi) before 505 was rolled out in the late 80s. And that began the decline of Peugeot cars in Naija.
This car needs to be resurrected and a close look at it indicates that it carries more swag when compared to the recently trending VW BEETLES.. Opigwe. Opiachara! |

Crime › Re: 8 More Nigerians Face Execution In Indonesia – Diaspora Group by Mbediogu(m): 10:08am On May 06, 2015 |
Onyi42: A GROUP, United Nigerians In Diaspora, UNID, has called on the Federal Government to prevail on the Indonesian government to stay action on its plans to execute eight more Nigerian citizens for drug related offences.
Briefing newsmen in Lagos, the group’s president, Mr. Paschal Okolie, condemned what it described as the poor attitude of the government towards the recent execution of four Nigerians in Indonesia.
His words: ”Considering that the next batch of execution will take place in no distant time in Indonesia, we urge the good people of Nigeria and our government to rise up with the entire world to stop further executions of Nigerians. Enough of the killings. Nigeria should leverage on the strong bilateral relationship it has with Indonesia and negotiate to stop the execution of the eight waiting to be killed. In as much as we totally condemn drug trafficking and wish to sensitise intending traffickers on the consequences that awaits offenders, we also condemn capital punishment especially since it has not been able to quell the issue of drug trafficking in Indonesia.” Okolie who gave names of those awaiting further execution as, Michael Titus Igwe, Kingsley Okonkwo, Uchenna Onyewuru, Eugene Ape, Hunphery Ejike, Obinna Nwajiagu, Benjamin Onuoha and Ikenna Abanukwu, said, ”Nigerian Embassy in Indonesia is longer concerned with passport renewals than the welfare or security of Nigerians. Those Nigerians killed were not giving fair trial, there is language barrier which made it impossible for them to defend themselves properly, Nigerian embassy did not even send representatives to court to assist them, so they were left at the mercy of Indonesia which was bent on killing them.”
‘’Most times Nigerians are thrown into prisons for more than four months without anyone knowing about it. They are tortured and some even die in the process. The way a country treats her citizens, is a reflection of how the citizens will be treated in foreign lands. Therefore, we feel it is high time our government rose to the occasion to ameliorate the plight of its citizens.’’
“we expected our government to show concern just like other countries whose nationals were involved. The way a government treats its citizens, is a reflection of how the citizens are likely to be treated in foreign lands. Therefore, we feel it is high time our government rose to the occasion to ameliorate the plights of its citizens no matter the circumstance.
We use this opportunity to appeal to the youth, to beware of the kind of friendships they keep as well as activities they engage themselves. One of the reasons there are many young Nigerians in prisons in different countries of the world today, is due to get rich quick syndrome, fast track. But in the end, they lose everything including their lives.”
http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/05/8-more-nigerians-face-execution-in-indonesia-diaspora-group/ I have two questions. Are there no Indonesians living in Nigeria that we can give reciprocal special treatment? If there are no Indonesians here, why are Nigerians flocking to Indonesia just to break laws that carry capital punishment? |

Politics › Re: An Open Letter Of Some Marine Students In Georgia To Nigeria Government For Assi by Mbediogu(m): 7:37am On May 02, 2015 |
ikwoche: Good day,
We, Nigerian maritime student's in "BATUMI STATE MARITIME ACADEMY", Republic of Georgia, are writing to express our bitterness concerning the present situation befalling us and other Nigerian Students in the Republic of Georgia.
Firstly, most of the students who came into the country in 2011/2012 are in their third year second semester and are supposed to graduate by next year June, We have been facing denials of Visa all through our study years in the country. After the first visa which brought us into the country of study, it has being almost impossible for us to extend our study visa which makes us illegal in the country.
Each time we apply for visa, a penalty will be charged in line with the Visa application fee and we would still be denied, when questions are asked as to the reason for the denial, the Ministry in charge would give us the following reasons;
1) YOUR FATHER IS A TERRORIST.
2) YOU ARE A THREAT TO GEORGIA.
3) FORGED DOCUMENTS (WHILE ITS ORIGINALLY FROM THE SCHOOL)
and ask us to charge the case to court if not satisfied.
Secondly, early last year 2014, the Government asked us to apply for RESIDENT CARD which we adhered to. After paying application and penalty fee, we were still denied, giving us the same reason for the denial.
The law was amended and opportunity for new Visa application started on the First (1st) of September 2014 which we applied, some were denied and some got their visa.
Now the reason for the denial of this new visa is based on our previous application for resident permit which makes no sense. This same Government that gave us the go ahead to apply for a resident permit are now using that as a bench mark for denying us our visas.
They have giving an ultimatum of "July 1st 2015", that all student and foreigners in the country without a visa would face withdrawal from school and deportation. we have invested a lot for three years to secure a better future for ourselves and this Government, because of their selfishness, cruelty and no regard for humanity wants to ruin our future just like that, not considering all we have invested.
Last year summer, two of our Maritime colleagues who had valid visas on their passport were deported for no reason while returning back to school after the summer break.
The Government of other nationalities affected have interfered in the situation to protect the interest of their nationals by opposing this cruel act. We urge the Nigerian government and other relevant stakeholders to stand up and fight for Nigerian nationals before it would be too late. We want to bring to notice that there are a lot of Georgian Seafarers sailing on Nigerian waters and they are not being treated with this level of injustice and cruelty their Government is showing to Nigerian nationals.
We need our Government now, more than ever, to come to our aid.
THIS EVIL ACT MUST STOP

QuotaSystem: There is nothing more unequal than the equal treatment of unequal people.
- Thomas Jefferson
Everything is in order.
Jefferson, a Virginian who made that statement just b4 the American civil war was a slave owner who spoke from a position of interest, and in the context of a man and whst he called 'human merchandise' or slave. Does that state still exist? If Jefferson, a wordsmith were to be alive today, he would have looked at the Kosovo example and may reverse his sentence to read thus, "there is nothing more equal and more edifying than to treat unequal people equally". |
