I have watched Governor Ambode’s video where he made a failed attempt to defend the obnoxious land use charge.

To start with, Governor Ambode does not know mathematics and does not understand economics. And he claims to be a chartered accountant.

The growth in Land Use Charge from N50,000 to N250,000 is 400% increase. Current Inflation rate is 15%. How can you increase a charge by 27 times the current inflation rate?

An increase of 400% overnight is called financial shock. When financial shock to people’s income is higher than inflation rate, people are effectively impoverished

If the government wants to go from N50,000 to N250,000, it must be *graduated* over the 15 year period for which the rate should have been reviewed as shown below:
Year-0 (2017-last year): N50,000
Y1-2018: N63,333
Y2-2019: N76,666
Y3-2020: N89,999
Y4-2021: N103,333
Y5-2022: N116,667...
...
Y10-2027: N183,333
...
Y15-2032: N250,000...
...
Y16-2033: N250,000
Y17-2018: N250,000
...

If this 400% land use charge is enforced, all landlords and commercial property owners will increase their rents/fees thereby further impoverishing the people.
1. A landlord will increase his rent,
2. The event centre operator will increase his hall rental fee for a conference/symposium/wedding/birthday
3. Owners of shopping complexes will increase the rents of the shops they have let out
4. Commercial property owners will increase rents on lease office spaces
5. Business/shop owners paying a higher rent on leased office spaces will pass on the higher rent to their customers by increasing the prices of their goods and services.

This is how inflation worsens and people are systematically impoverished to fund Tinubu’s money-hungry pocket.

We must bear in mind that Ambode has already increased BRT/LAGBUS fare, Toll tariff, water rates, vehicle licence, introduced Radio tax, vehicle registration, road worthiness etc.

This is the same governor whose government created and legislated monopolies —Alpha Beta (revenue collection), Visionscape (waste management).

Where in the world does government create and legislate monopoly in a free-market economy?

Ambode must go back to school to re-learn economics

I am an Anglican and in the history of Anglican Church, there's never and till now there's nothing like a card for Holy Communion nor not receiving holy Communion because you're talking member.
I you really attended an Anglican Church today which I know you didn't, (maybe someone was telling a story which you didn't get properly and rush here to claim you were the one who attended), you would hear when the vicar will announce that the holy Communion is for Anglicans who have been confirmed, for Methodists and for those from Roman Catholic who have been admitted into the Anglican Communion, nothing else. Nobody mandates you to wear white shirt also. If you were turned back then it must be(for ladies) improper dressing or lipstick.

If you get a request for for pick up at local airport (MM2), is there any special way or place to park before rider shows up? Also are there any form of tasks force that disturb cars suspected to be Uber both local and International airport?

I drove a client from phase 1 to ojodu and it was 56oo after Uber deductions. I had my destination trip but I did not use it cos there was no boost around mainland. So I went back empty to the land of opportunity. Getting to VI where boost was 1.8x, I hit another one to lbs. abt 4000. Seems no boost there. I came back to Vi empty. Put my destination trip to Ikeja... Learn how to calculate this work with Uber. If I don't see any meaningful boost on Uber I do Taxify. Read the Uber boost table a nite before u set out to work so as to position well. Today is another great day on Uber and even Taxify. Learn how to sacrifice some fuel in other to position well cos time is attached to these promotion s.

Please where can I get the Uber boost table. Promotion" under earnings on my driver's app isn't opening.

Of course one can disagree with one another gently and respectfully to agree on the same page as well. Moreover it will be so foolish of me to argue and disagree with someone over what the person has used while I'm yet to use same too.

Everyone who wants to be sincere with him or herself knows that Ogunvic41 & Romeo3 have done a lot of good for people on this thread. They were once and even still Uber/Taxify drivers with great on-the-job experience. They have been assisting a lot of people, giving out ways and strategies on how to succeed on this business which every active Nigerian Uber/Taxify driver on this thread can confirm the helpfulness of the inform they give out.

Their strategies in succeeding in this business which they were dishing out were not only the time and days to work, where or location to position, type of phone and Service provider to use, but also the type of vehicle MOST SUITABLE FOR UBER/TAXIFY BUSINESS IN NIGERIA but it seems some people, due to their biased mind are now thinking and seeing what those guys are doing from different perspective.

My cousin has used 2002 Peugeot 406 for over 8years. He sold it in 2015 and bought 2010 Toyota Camry which he also use for Uber. Till today he has been regretting why he sold the 406.
What am I saying, only those who live in Nigeria, own and drive cars in Nigeria, especially those that have used different types of cars in Nigeria, and are familiar with Nigerian roads will concur with what Ogunvic41 and Romeo3 are saying.

The type of vehicle for Transports biz is different from the type you use for pleasure.
I use 2001 Toyota Camry which is acceptable by Uber but I don't want to drive it on Uber because the shocks and other underneath components are too fragile. My friend has 2014 Toyota Avensis and quickly registerd it on Taxify and Uber. Under 4months he spent more than N100k replacing shocks and linkage. After one month he replaced the shocks, a/c had problem, he spent over N112k changing compressor and other a/c components.

I remember sometime someone promoted Hyundai Elantra and I ask, how much is the Engine and transmission sold in the market? Get the price and also ask how much is 406 Engine and transmission sold in the market as well.

Those who want to succeed in this e-hailing business should know that you're in the business to make profit with minimal expenditure on the tools you're using g for the business.

a perfect car won't need anything other than servicing for atleast 4 months. I can vouch for lions. their suspension will last over 6 months.

You cannot own and drive. It's a partnership in the sense that you own the car, he drives.

Peugeot is always better. Why is it that Uber and taxify don't accept Peugeot 307, the one that's like Toyota matrix.

It only applies to vehicles with Diesel Engine. To heat, you just turn the ignition on and leave it for like 15seconds before starting, that's all.

Why do I always say kia rio 1.6L 2007-2008

Simple .... They are strong, fuel economical and parts available.

A lot of people have said that parts for the hyundai n kia comes mostly brand new and expensive... my thoughts on this would be isn't it good to buy brand new parts that you can estimate the life span than buy tokunbo parts that the lifespan isn't predictable (all things been equal).


Acceptability by riders ... not all riders love fanciful rides and every one loves the Kia Rio come of its compact feel (I have 3 presently and no complains frim riders)

The most important factor I consider when getting a ride for e-hailing is how much is the two important parts for the vehicle which is

1. The engine

2. The transmission

I have come to see that's both parts are cheap over the regular Toyota corolla (recently did an engine upgrade from 1.4L to a 1.6L on a kia rio )

With this few points of mine, I hope I have been about to give u an insight on the vehicles I prefer for e-hailing bizness

I was considering this kia Rio 1.6ltr Engine before but most people I know using kia products have been complaining bitterly especially for the availability of parts.
Parts are either too expensive or hard to find. My cousin has a Kia Rio 2007, had accident with it, since then over 4yrs the a/c is not working. He has tried all he could,spent money on it no way though he lives in Abuja.

Before, if you want to sell any car on nairaland, if you don't post the VIN number, nobody will take you serious. Now just for you to post the other pictures of the car, you're claiming busy, asking people to call you. People are also busy for such calls, if you are confident of what you're trying to sell, post all details and stop hidding behind your phone.
