Meanwhile guys I am not really conversant with Lagos roads but want to join Uber. I already have a 2009 Camry. I can use Google maps but I noticed sometimes it doesn't show the roads well, it takes you to one way or even take you to wrong place but very close to where you're going.
My major concern is that road and street navigation stuff.
So I want to ask, how do new drivers on Uber with little or no experience with Lagos roads cope at the beginning?

Infact the new one that's hitting people now is FRSC with this their speed limit stuff. Every commercial vehicle must have it and it costs N38K to N45K to buy depending on the kind of Vehicle you have. They are seriously stopping and checking every commercial motorist and if you don't have it, you know what it means na.
Info from someone in one of these law enforcement agencies said that the actual cost of that speed limit is N5000 but after adding money that will go for Transports minister, FRSC boss, some govt officials an some senators that helped approve the stuff, that's why the price is as high as it is.

I wish Nigerians should wake up and someone should take them to court the way they did for new number plates.

Guys I was stopped by FRSC officials and they gave me ticket of N3000 because I don't have speed limit on my van which has commercial plate number. I went for the installation which I was told it's N38k but my vehicle does not have sensor to work with it so I should pay extra N10k for it. Information from a reliable source made me to know that the actual cost of the speed limit is N5000 but all other money added to it, some goes to minister of transportation account, some to FRSC boss while others to some senators that made the stuff scale through.

I am asking; is it true? Can't the price come down to enable commercial motorists afford the device? Is it really necessary as they claim it reduces rate of accidents?

I am pleading to all and sundry to see what can be done to review the price of this device if possible use court to stop this corrupt act as it was done for the new number plates.

Nigerians should focus on things like this not Otobo or Dino's certificate saga.

According to him, for easy traffic flow, the last number which is 7 in the digits 094621597 can be either changed to 8 or 9, to get response faster with different customs personnel on duty at every point in time. Ali said that Nigerians misunderstood customs intention regarding duty payment on old vehicles, adding that the excise was actually meant for motor dealers. He added that customs later decided to give innocent private vehicle owners, who after verification, might find out that their vehicles had no genuine duty clearance to take advantage of the 60 per cent rebate.
