I don't have any "friends" per say, but I have maybe one friend 😅.... We don't talk often, but when we talk we vibe, tease each other and just still go on leave - no expectations, no pressure.

Like you, the only people I really call, are my family, and business calls when I have any.

I have a girlfriend though, and she's probably the next best thing that has happened to me...

Having someone in your life that you care about isn't a reward for having money, or a result of earning 8 figure salaries.... If you put money aside and seek out friendship, you'll find - it may take a while, but you'll find someone who will choose you, irrespective of your quirks and way of living.

I think the bigger problem here is that you felt the need to lie to people about your choice - being happy with yourself as you are - but as someone said up there already, you probably are afraid of rejection, or being disappointed so you try not to get too close to people.

Money will not give you a friend, being perfect will not give you a lover.... Taking the decision to be vulnerable to another person, giving up control of a predictable life for the spontaneity of caring for someone and being cared for.

And before you think you're not doing well while earning #200k, unless you're living in a very expensive city, know that that's almost times 3 of the minimum wage, and many people get by.
