Lols... I agree with you on that "marriage" context. It takes a very mature mind to know the right thing to do despite the harsh and inexperienced feedbacks regarding marriage and relationships here Sha.
SpencerForbes:
True talk, but it’s a suicide mission because of the kind of 'poison' she has fed her mind. We all know Nairaland is the Headquarters of Anti-Marriage. The moment she brings a tiny family issue here, what do you think the 'online judges' will say?

'DIVORCE HIM!'

Even X (Twitter) is a playground compared to the bitterness on this forum. If she depends on the 'wisdom' she picks up here, the probability of that marriage lasting is lower than 1%. It's a massive red flag!
RomanceRe: Before You Married Her She Was Active On Social Media Like Nairaland, Twitter Et by McLizbae:
On the contrary... I think nairaland is a decent news/info/engagement place. Plus, people read more of written contents than media (pictures and videos) here than other SM platforms. Adverts are least distracting. Engagement is also fairly opened here compared to some others limited to friends/followers. NL also consume much less data compared to many other SM platforms. So, if your wife is a nlder, she may be bringing valuable talks to the discussion rather than celebrity showoffs, use-less contents, and irrelevant trends of products and stunts. She'll also spend less on data, and less time online.
SpencerForbes:
If the lady I’m going to marry has been active on nairaland (if I’m ever going to), that’s a red flag 🚩

PoliticsRe: ‘Back Tinubu’ — Soludo Asks Igbo Not To Waste Their Votes In 2027 by McLizbae: 6:33am On Mar 20
Nigerian Politicians have really never take the people to the heart of their ambitions, and that is a general fact about the prevailing organization of politics in Nigeria currently. However here, we are only sharing opinions on the possibilities of Igbo presidency even in the prevail organization/schemes of politics in Nigeria.
dettolgel:
I completely agree with your assessment, that his position is the sure and maybe easier way for an Igbo politician to clench the presidency. where we differ is the objective of such move.

My stance is that, this is for the benefits of the political class and has no bearing on the welfare of the ordinary Igbo man on the street.
As we have seen from experience, that for the more than 10 years ( since 1999 - date), that the North was in power, there is no significant improvement in the lives of the average Northern when compared to that of other Nigerians. The SW has had it for at least 11 years now, and you cannot in good faith say that the life of an average Yoruba man is better than that of an average Hausa or Igbo man under the so-called Yoruba government. GEJ had it and the lives of "Niger Deltans" did not improve beyond that of the average citizens.

But here is what changed:
When the North were in power, Northern politicians become richer and entrenched their reach in the corridor of power.
The same thing happened during GEJ, where politicians from his ethnic group and those that aligned with him enriched themselves.
Today the same is happening, we are seeing more Yoruba politicians getting more "play time".

Which brings me to the disappointing speech of Soludo and the inherent selfish agenda underlying his position; his position is for the benefits of the Igbo politicians, and not in anyway for the benefits of the average man on the street.

If he Soludo thinks that the Igbo politician of his time has the solution to Nigeria problem, thank goodness he is close to Tinubu, he should rally those "Igbos" together and let them share their ideas with Tinubu, and let him improve the lots of Nigerians.
We don't have to wait for another four years, before they spring into action. We are all crying one Nigeria, we all want what is good for all Nigerians, so why wait? Unless they are just after their own selfish interest?
SportsRe: Senegal Coach Takes AFCON Trophy To Military Base by McLizbae:
Na mumu go actually make Senegal release that trophy. CAF must fabricate another trophy for Morocco, since they wish to have two winners of the tournament.

The verdict from that case should be a sanction of the players that attempted the walkout or, in the worst verdict, cancelation/replay of the final match!

Common sense cannot just fathom the sanity in taking the trophy from the team that won on the pitch and match-day, and giving it to the loser, even when the match was actually played till the final whistle of the official last minute of the game.

PoliticsRe: ‘Back Tinubu’ — Soludo Asks Igbo Not To Waste Their Votes In 2027 by McLizbae: 8:50am On Mar 18
I like your comment because it is very mature and also insightful. However, in looking at what the most vivid events are, I do not see Tinubu being alive and losing control of political structures in Nigeria, at least till 2031. It is only wise to work with this reality. Look at the prevailing south-north rotation agenda, 2031 may not even promise SE, presidency (as you may be assuming for Soludos plans). However, it will eventually come back to the south, when, hopefully, the south could be united for an Igbo presidency (Soludos plans may actually be this much futuristic) .
dettolgel:
I appreciate your post and it takes a keen observers to find the truth in your post. Which is that this is for the benefits of SE politicians and not the people. This brings me to my point, that Soludo is saying it because he believes that if SE decides not to pursue the presidency this time, that puts it at the end of his tenure and very much allows him to contest.

The sad thing about his proposal is that it is only to the advantage of the political class. If he had the interest of the average Nigerian at heart, his statement would have been focused mainly on ensuring that the SE and every other Nigerians vote for a candidate that will move the nation the forward. His position is simple to get the Igbo political class into power after Tinubu's terms irrespective of the state of affairs of the nation in the next four years and how that affects the ordinary citizen.

When will Nigerians wake up and understand that this is between the rich and the poor? These politicians don't care about the masses

You are building realities on baseless assumptions. What if he didn't die in 10 years? What if he is able to transit his political control (say to his igbo-incorporated structure or even his son) before he dies?
OredoPikin2:
on what basis should dey align with tinubu?
tinubu is not staying this earth more 10yrs from now.
when he dies, it is 100% certain his political structure dies with him
in that 10yrs, power will still be with the north.

PoliticsRe: ‘Back Tinubu’ — Soludo Asks Igbo Not To Waste Their Votes In 2027 by McLizbae: 6:59am On Mar 18
Okay, sir.
Ofunaofu:
Alignment with Tinubu is a promising pathway to Igbo presidency? That’s a nice political fairytale.

The pathway to an Igbo presidency isn’t loyalty to any individual — it’s the strength, unity, and resolve of the Igbos themselves.

Igbos aren’t chasing proximity to power; they’re demanding purpose in leadership. A presidency that secures lives, not one that watches citizens massacred in thousands. A presidency that improves quality of life, not one that normalizes hardship. A presidency that promises stable electricity and actually delivers it.

That’s the kind of leadership worth aligning with. Not personalities.

PoliticsRe: ‘Back Tinubu’ — Soludo Asks Igbo Not To Waste Their Votes In 2027 by McLizbae:
The SE politicians must unite in agreement that alignment with Tinubu is a promising pathway to future presidency.

What is simple and clear is: Tinubu currently has strong political control and followership in the SW and SS. SE presidency's alignment with Tinubu now, clearly promise entire southern support. Furthermore, the loyal support for an Igbo presidency can be more guaranteed in the entire south, because the southern region shares more than just the region. There are also fair share of culture, religion, ethnicity (especially through inter-marriages and inter-migration).

For the northern regions, even Tinubu is still struggling right now for sufficient and sustainable control. Personally, I think it will take a lot (much more than simple politics) to convince a core Northerner to cast his vote for a Christian Igbo president.

A full southern support may only require less work from the Northern regions, to achieve Igbo presidency.

Pee101:
Nonsense talk, when will it ever be the turn of the igbos.
Thats not nonsense talk if SE is still seriously interested in the presidency.
