Advantage of gun ownership! The shooter should aim at one of them next time. |
If most of the powerful igbo support Biafra, the Biafra nation will be achieved, especially at this age of global civilization. mrvitalis: |
You are very correct! chiagozien: |
That's a general knowledge. If all or most of the powerful igbos support Biafra, the agitation would have achieved its aim. If fact, I can go on a claim here and say the bigger sabos of Biafra are even igbos. |
No. Don't ask Nairaland members for contact details (email, phone, bbpin) or investments |

Chief @helinues, as much as I understand that you have to run against anything that potentially threatens APC and the prevailing establishments in Nigeria, I must state it that I am not wrong. Then, I must end any further emotion and sentiment-driven arguments. If you mention animal attacks there and then, so it is right now and right here in Nigeria (if not even worse). BTW, to maintain global peace, the US must remain on top of world super powers. The US and her citizens must keep advancing in warfare to remain top of the world's super power. Switzerland is not in the scheme of world super powers. Infact, by some extension, the Swiss are even part of the people protected under deals with the US. helinues: |
Thank you. dollypi: |
That's is one bold step that only an uncompromising govt will quickly take at this stage. When Buhari, started withdrawing people's guns in 2017, I told a friend that terrorism just got officially upgrade in the country. Sheuns: |
There are many things you are ignorant about on the matter. 1. America will leave gun ownership policy intact to ensure maximum readiness of every American for any internal or external attach. 2. Unlike terrorism, genocides, and bokoharam (as you have mentioned) in Nigeria, every killer or perpetrator of gun violence is investigated, mostly arrested, and punished. 3. Gun ownership gives the sense that nobody is invisible and untouchable, so, people are more careful with the way they deal with each other (you don't just fxck around). 4. Ever heard about the "Wild West"? That's the name given to the western US that was characterized by seemingly uncontrollable violence and lawlessness. Gun ownership for self defense was one of the solution to that problem, and it has to stay in place to keep it resolved. 5. Flipping on the cruel side, gun ownership controls population growth. In gun violence, either the shooter or the victim or both are taken out of the population (dead or jailed), and it all cases the community is depopulated by at least one (either the shooter or victim, or both) useless or terror person. Now imagine that 40k useless and potential terrorists were being removed from Nigerian population from just 2000 to 2005. There definitely won't be various versions and groups of killers and terrorists in the country now. In summary, as long as the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, that policy will continue to stand in America. Nigeria should allow gun ownership for citizens. The advantages will surely outweigh the disadvantages, but that is if the politicians will start acting in ways that won't make them the first set of victims. |
Yes, the system were corrupt and compromised. Infact, that was the primary reason why these special strategies needed to be implemented till some sanity was regained (read about the Wild West). BUT, this solution-oriented implementations was only carried out by a government that was not complicit in the insecurity, and honest in their will to reel out insecurity in their country. Very important question! fergie001:Thank you, Fals, for posting it to Kwara governor, security chiefs, and the president, for a simple "Yes or No" answer. We need to fully understand what we are celebrating. As much as we are happy that the kidnapped worshipers have been released, if the perpetrators are still alive and free, then we are also celebrating a "successful terrorist activity, business, or heist" that also empowers future terrorism. |
How can the character behind this voice be innocent of terrorism? Nawa o.. |
He should license gun for some categories of civilians, employ foreign mercenaries, and set progress deadlines for the army chiefs. These are simple methods that have worked in many nations (including the USA), against overwhelming insecurity. I so much believe that the reason the terrorism is proliferating, is because the government is indirect funding it. |
Prison is not supposed to be easy. Imprisonment is a punishment not an holiday or even exile. Now to your story: I know you have learned your lesson, but for the sake of other readers, try to avoid police stations by all means. Na them go mostly decide wether or not you are a criminal regardless the matter that took you there. |

Nigeria is a very difficult situation. Any man currently surviving Nigeria is having God coming through. I thank you, God! Thank you, Jesus Christ! |

Try and keep ignoring them, they will eventually leave you alone. Worked for me once. |
She aleardy made a length comment on the discussion. My summary of are stand is that "there should be dialogue towards freeing NK" https://www.nairaland.com/8566274/bianca-ojukwu-reacts-nnamdi-kanus#137551650 ebukal67x: |
I have followed people's calls to release or pardon Mr. Kanu. I understand this call coming from people of Igbo extraction, especially the opposition politicians from that ethnicity. It will be hard for people in this category to be objective with the prevailing public sentiments in their home region. However, when I heard people such as Bianca Ojukuw (govt cabinet member) and Shehu Sani (chiefain of APC) calling for dialogue for peace, I get a bit confused. This can be perceive as a subtle politicking aim to endear the igbo ethnicity. I believe if sentiments are set aside absolutely and we want to be having a normal and reasonable discussions on NKs sentence, the question should be: is Kanu fairly trial and sentenced? I will call that the process be thoroughly reviewed, and in: Case 1: If the answer still seem to be NO, then, we should be talking about appeals in a higher court, where the process will be reevaluated and the sentence overturned. Case 2: But if the answer remains Yes (now or in later judgements), where Kanu can be further established to be guilty of the terrorism crimes, then Mr Kanu must be allowed to serve his sentence. And if he will ever be considered for a pardon, it should be based on good conducts in jail and clear indications that he is changed and a better citizen, who will be a good influence if released back into the society. In a normal event: If there are 100 terrorists, and just one is fairly trial and sentence (as the in Case 2), the aggrieved kinsmen of the convicted terrorist should be asking for trial and conviction of the remaining 99 terrorists, not the release of the one that have been taken out by the system. Save for ignorance, dirty politics, and calumny, why would any group of people agitate for the release of terror back into their community? |
What exactly will they be condemning when they also have a Nigerian senator serving time in their own prisons. P1PrinceKT: |
