My landlady doesn't want to replace my faulty meter. A neighbor with same issue as mine bought a meter with her funds recently in her (landlady's) name which I'm not willing to do (I want to buy in my name and not her name since she isnt willing to foot the bill for a meter whose relay is bad and no fault of ours) hence my question.

That's serious. Don't make the mistake of buying in her name. If you must buy in her name, make sure that she agrees to refund you the money or deduct it from your next house rent if she can't buy it herself, because if it is in her name, that means you can't go with the meter when packing out.

There should be an agreement. If she agrees to refund you or deduct the amount from your next rent if you buy it in her name, only then you can buy in her name. If not, don't.

One advice I will give to my future unborn son will be: My son, pay close attention - before you make up your mind to marry any lady, please do well to find out through proper investigation how the mother of the girl treats the husband (which is the father of the girl) at home.

If the mother is the one in charge of the man (her husband) at home or controls and lead the man, please do not marry or go for such a lady because the mother will eventually be in charge of your marriage to the daughter. The marriage to the daughter of such a mother won't last before it crumbles.

She will always wants to control your marriage the way she controls her husband (the father of the girl).
