now this is what i do not like : unclad ignorance. no black south African company is in Nigeria. so save us your crap about coming here to invest.

if the dutch built everything in south africa -which is true by the way- then you should logout of here for we are not mates.

Nigeria has built Africa's biggest economy.

has launched africa's first satellite in orbit.

the only african in nasa

the only african country in MINT

built Africa's biggest movie industry (3rd in the world)
africas music headquarters.

only black African to win the miss world

owns the richest black person in the world

richest blogger in Africa

spiritual headquarters of africa the synagogue has grown into a pilgrimage status with south africans, ghanaians et al, queuing up all day.

my fingers hurt already. mind, we started development only 55 years ago by 1960. south Africa has been developing for over 300 years as home-away-from home by the Europeans. and after just 24 years of Zulu rule, everything is falling apart.
lol...let me not respond to this laughable comment of yours because you would end up telling me that Nigeria built the largest population in Africa....

the only people that deserves your panelbeating is your anglo dutch Overlords who took away your ancestral lands and make you an economic minority in your own country. what you owe me is gratitude considering my country's contribution in making sure you left the jungles and caves prior to 1994.
show us how to do it by chasing away the Europeans who are owning your eko Atlantic ...your country contribution only exists in your fantasies,we know who helped us during those trying times...you can visit all museums in SA...your country is not mentioned anywhere...because she has done nothing

thanks and welcome to the show.

since you got bleeped out of the no. 1 economic title of the continent, your government has become panicky making congratulatory message in the open and expressing concern behind closed doors as a western diplomat based in Jo Burg revealed.

the next time you call Nigeria very underdeveloped, always know that south africa is an under developed country and your spear- wielding ancestors built nothing in south africa.

but for the anglo dutch you guys and burundi will be battling for supremacy.

welcome.
no country will ever beep that vacuum economy,an economy that borrows money to pay public servants,by the way do you have fuel for your generator?if south Africa was built by the Dutch...why is that has to do with you?If the colonizers decided not to build decent infrastructure in your native land, whose fault is that? What is it that you as a Nigerian can boost about built by your ancestors in Nigeria? If you have a thing for south Africa..thats your own thing, the only thing that south Africa wants to see is the more growth of your economy so that more south African companies can establish themselves ...

Hello pretty baby. yes ghana and south africa has a thing for nigeria. in the case of S.A it is both the governnent and the citizens.

in the case of ghana, it is mainly some of the citizen that are often unsettled by Nigeria.

Let me give you a break down : it all started well when ghana got her independence in 1958 two years before Nigeria. Nkurumah was a Ghanaian hero who ghanaians about national pride and pan african struggles and liberation from colonialism.

unfortunately for ghanaians they are blessed with the ignorance of mistaking a great national leader for a nation in leadership in the committee of nations.

Nigeria got her general independence by 1960 and a new leader was born. from 1963 Nigeria's foreign policy was centered on Africa. now ask the ghanaians here if ghana has a foreign policy and what it is.

same thing for late ghadafi of Libya who was a great nation leader and had the buffoonery of thinking Libya can be an African leader.

FACTS----1)No country of 35 million in population can be a leader

2)No country with a sickening GDP of $30 billion can be an economic umpire.

3) No country with a highly docile citizens can conquer or explore the world. citizens in ghana are highly docile, un-entrepreneurial and uneventful. reason why they don't have a single billionaire.

LASTLY: The ghanaian president is the current ECOWAS chairman and you should have heard his speech to Gen. Buhari where he said that the nigeria is the leader and biggest nation in the region.

Kofi Annan came to Abuja in january and he told the world that THE DESTINY OF AFRICA IS IN THE HANDS OF NIGERIA.

i dare any ghanaian here to ask for proof of Mr. Annan's statement.

lol, how i love slaying Ghanaians with horrible facts.
can you tell me the THING south Africa and her citizens have for a very underdeveloped country like Nigeria?

You are better off then going to the general inquiries Visa to South Africa thread here on the travel section. Lots of info for prospective students who wish to study there.

The OP's circumstances in Nigeria shows that he took a huge risk in relocating to SA and as you know Nigerians are very stubborn, until they see with their eyes. If you warn them, they will say you want to block their progress.

Even if you do finish school there, it is still difficult to come out and get something. The country is experiencing around 36% unemployment rate with the majority unskilled and under skilled making up the bulk. Professionals such as engineers, Doctors and the likes fair better because there is a need for them. All others will struggle for quite a number of years before they find their feet.

South Africa of 2000 is not the same as the one of today. Many social and economic issues are mounting and it is not the el dorado many seem to think it is.
who ever takes your advice is doing it on their own peril....your bitterness is alarming, south Africa unemployment rate stands on 24% not 36%...you failed to make your mark in SA now you are trying hard to demonize her...you made a comment on this very thread that Nigerians parade expensive cars in front of hostel dwellers...in other words Nigerians are living large in SA...now you have changed the tune...

Nice try. Please review context in DieVluit's comment again

The word "failed" was used to describe an unsuccessful event in trying to immigrate into South Africa.

How can you be envious of an immigrant who failed to enter your countryhuh?

You however can be envious of an immigrant who is successful when he makes it to South Africa.

PS. Let me be very clear on this. Not All South Africans are envious of Nigerians, that would be a stupid statement. However a Hostel dwelling South African in Kwazulu Natal who shares a room with like 20 people, wakes up in the morning and right infront of him is a slew of shops and run by Nigerians parading themselves in flashy cars and picking up women on the weekends would constitute your JEALOUS TYPE.

Clear enough for you!!!

Please listen to your first lady reiterate my very comments above. Start from Minute 58:

First it was Foreigners are taking your jobs

THen it was Foreigners were stealing your women

Then it was Foreigners are committing most of the crimes

NOW ITS FOREIGNERS ARE SECLUDING THEMSELVES AND DON"T WISH TO INTEGRATE.

What about the other foreign communities of Greeks, Jews, Chinese, Indians and the likes. Why do you not comment on them?

It is very natural for a community of people to group together and integration begins when the host community reaches out the foreign community in the form of cultural exchanges dialogues and the likes. A step your government is just taking now.

Please spare us the BS.

I hope you are referring to the so called semi skilled who troop to South Africa in search of green pastures and not me directly.

If you follow this thread you will notice that most of the Nigerians looking for information about how to survive in South Africa are of the semi skilled type. They will usually overstay their invites and try to melt into the informal sector congregating in areas popularly inhabited by Nigerians in South Africa but will face Xenophobia and discrimination a lot more because even though they try to etch out a living they will be lumped together and refered to as "drug dealers" where ever they go.

Your so called doctors, accountants, engineers e.t.c are either transferred to SA from their companies, are well to do and can afford to finish their studies in SA universities as professional graduates and secure jobs or have enough money they brought over to invest in good start ups. These ones are not so likely to encounter your Xenos though they will experience some form of Xeno during their stay in the country.

Please no sugar coating.
we have been reading your negative comments about SA since day one....its pleasing to read positive comments from people with positive attitude on this thread...we know what your comments are before you type them...please leave those who are doing well in SA share their good experiences....

Lol. To think that you are throwing all that information back at me like I do not know the history of MJ and I do not acknowledge nor respect the achievements of the black is rather shocking.

Get off the defensive brother. Even Malcolm X tried to convince the black community to come back to Africa and try and rebuild from "home". There is no doubt that blacks are intelligent but the truth is without y'all being in America and being under majority of white beliefs and ideals you wouldn't have achieved as much as you have. The only reason why I say this is because these achievements you stated have NOT been replicated on African soil by Africans.

Africans obviously cannot lead themselves to prosperity without the influence of whites. Take for instance, South Africa. The native south Africans are lazy and obviously from their recent show of xenophobia would have never been able to achieve what they did without the aid of whites during apartheid. I know you'll say other African countries helped build SA but you really need to also understand that whatever they built was on the foundation of what the whites laid down in SA and even till today mjority of the rich in SA are white while the poor are mainly SAcans.

Same applies to the black in the US, whatever rights you have were as a result of the constitutions and laws written by the founding fathers of white America. If Jay Z, Malcolm 8, Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks etc had grown up on African soil, there's every possibility that they wouldn't have achieved what they have.

I'm not a racist and its rather unfortunate that yourself and some other people like Khlaa believe I am. I was born here. I grew up here. I'm mixed and my mom was black. My dad left when I was barely 3 months old and I've lived, schooled, made friends here all my life. Even my wife is an Ijaw woman. I'm a typical Nigerian boy, just a bit light skinned and I'd proudly claim waffi before cliaming Scottish.

You need to understand that my rantings are not as a result of hatred of blacks or anything similar but as a deep and growing concern of how things go on here.

For your information, an average African won't regard and "African American" as kin. They see you as similar to whites because of the white influence you've had over the years.

I really think you need to come here and see how things REALLY are here to understand what I mean. Until then, I'm only forced to believe you'll never understand my POV because I can bet you have electricity while I still don't have any after more than 3 weeks.

But I still don't blame the white man. And please, quit it with the lecture. The fact that I'm in Africa doesn't make me ignorant. I know way more about what is going on in America than you know about what is going on in Africa. At least the average Nigerian TV station knows there America is on the map as opposed to CNN who couldn't properly place Nigeria on the map of Africa.
this norm of unnecessarily using SA as a case study to validate your rubbish is annoying...white people only make 5% of the south African population therefore if you are matured enough you would understand why poverty is only attributed to black communities ...may I also tell you that not every white person is rich in SA...During the apartheid regime,South Africa had independent states within herself called homelands,Black people were responsible for developing those areas under difficult circumstances and managed to build beautiful towns like Mafikeng,Thohoyandou,Umtata,Bisho en so forth...these towns are today accommodating thousands if not millions of foreigners who in return call black south Africans lazy
.....if the so called xenophobic attacks in SA can be attributed to black south Africans laziness, why didn't it happen before?
Culture › Re: . by MduZA: 6:45am On May 10, 2015
AkanIgbo:
Sorry, we will just have to disagree with you on what Black people can achieve. I am not joking with you when I say that White people in the USA literally did not help Black people in America achieve anything. They helped us with nothing. Black people in America had to build their own colleges, because just up until just 47 years ago Black Americans could not go to White people colleges.

The problems that you maybe facing has nothing to do with Black people. It may have something to do with the people electing inept and crooked government. That is not unique to any specific country anywhere. Maybe it is too much tribal stuff going on, rather than just electing the most competent people for positions. I don't know, but I do know that it has nothing to do with being Black. I am surprised by the amount of self hate that I see Africans having for themselves. Very surprising knowing the Kingdoms that the people descended from. I don't know how so many people can have such a negative opinion of themselves and their countrymen. Sad.
spot on...these are people who dont want to see other black people progressing due to the fact that they themselves are not capable of doing great things...

The truth hurts which is why a small feeble mind like yours would translate this to "garbage".

Again the self absorbed, self centered broken mind of the post Apatheid black South African is not difficult to comprehend. They use words like... "it is our business not yours"...."cry me a river"...."You must go" to mask their insecurities and the inability to take responsibility of their own short comings, solve their internal issues outside of picking on the "other". The more you do this the more you expose yourselfs to the world.

This sickness is an aftermath and residual effect of isolationist measures instituted by the Apatheid govt and which continue today in the minds of Black South Africans.

THey chant "VIva Africa"".. use phrases like "nkosi sike leli Africa" and even dare to affix the Suffix "Africa" in their national identity yet everyone outside their borders in the rest of the continent are strangers and an enemy to the state, legal and illegal I might add.

When all the immigrants are gone. YOur problem will not be solved. I can bet $1 million dollars on that. Why? because you are too S> TUP>Id to identify the root causes and prefer to hide your dirty laundry in house.

South-Africa is a basket case. Your mentally handicapped citizens are only concerned about killing somalis and zimbabweans.

A country where 5% of the population runs 90% of the economy. On the other hand, Nigeria runs a federation, with each state having an independent budget, able to generate it's own wealth, seperate from the Federal government.

The Nigerian economy is the largest in Africa, the most sophisticated, the most diversified economy in Africa. Nigerian companies dominate the African continent.

Nigeria is on path to become Africa's only super-power. We have an insurgency we have dealth considerably with. Turkey, Europe's 6th largest economy has been fighting an insurgency for 50 years and counting, India has the world's 4th largest economy, but they been fighting an insurgency for over 20 years, Spain only got reprieve after a political settlement with ETA, the Brits only came to a political settlement after 27years of fighting. The U.S, the world's only super-power has been engaged in insurgencies for over 20 years.

Nigeria with Africa's largest economy is the only politically and economically relevant country on the African continent.
