During GEJ time Nigeria economy grows to become Africa biggest economy, dollar remained stable and electricity generation grows to 10,000MW.
Where are we today, only blame game? huh shocked shocked
If you only check properly you would know that our GDP growth was mainly Oil driven in real term the GDP was much lower, and neighboring countries where doing better because they don't produce oil mainly. Secondly Nigeria became biggest economy over night because it was due to a change of how Nigerian GDP is calculated that made GDP to be recalculated and stated has biggest in Africa so even during Yaradua and Obasanjo Nigeria was possibly still the biggest economy in Africa. If you don't, naira in black market had began to fall during Johnathan if you don't know just check I used to send money back to Nigeria so I know, the reason naira continued to fall is mainly because of CBN poor knowledge of FX markets. During GEJ electricity never passed about 4,000MW stop lying, it was during PMB that for the first time we went above that and reached the pick in the history of this country.

DON'T TAKE MY WORD FOR IT JUST CHECK THE FACTS BEFORE SAYING RUBBISH

All this one na politics. I'm telling you all this time CBN knew what it was doing, there is no magic here they are just allowing people to access dollars now while before they refused and only allowed some chosen people and companies. The Igbo man that they call CBN governor should be removed he has no clue how to manage a Central Bank

The Nigerians are reportedly also carrying guns and ready to repel the hostile South Africans.

Why are you comparing Nigeria with Russia for God's sake? most of these countries over the years used there oil wealth to develop their country (build good schools, hospitals, roads, housing, manufacturing entities etc). so whatever the situation, you will never see them running around looking for FX to travel outside their country for schooling, hospital, importation of -rice,toothpick, shoes etc. Our Government failed over the year's to put any of these things down for us. rather they stole every thing and took them to other people's country not even investing any part of it in this country
Stop whinnig, I'm sick of people like you waiting for government to do everything for you. No the government has part of responsability but stop whinning PLEASE pff

IT is also imperative that the CBN provides a plateform for nigerians abroad that send money to nigeria so that a substantial part of the forex sent home goes through the CBN and then put back into the system by the CBN so that the CBN always has some other source of dollar apart from oil

It's a gradual process, this was introduced on Monday, as soon as it filtered through fx segments, commercial banks will once again unblock naira denominated cards.
I don't they will anytime soon because the CBN allocation is only meant for scholl fees and specific items. Only the CBN can tell now
BusinessRe: Understanding CBN New Policy Actions In Forex Market by me69: 2:11pm On Feb 23, 2017
Truth234:
Every day we come on here to disagree to agree and suggest ways our leaders can move the nation forward in order to revamp the economy, but it's imperative we understand the CBN intent and methodology. Here is a detailed summary of the new CBN forex policy. Lalasticlala Mynd44 seun Dominique
Now you understand that the rise in forex was caused by CBN not must due to dropping oil prices. I have been saying for months now. In fact the exchange rate can only fall to a new equilibrium higher than the official market rate, because some structural issues still remain to be addressed, Student accomodation rents abraod, their monthly stipend which constitute another source demand side shock for the parrallel market. If the CBN can address this then the gap between parrallel market and official rate will become minimal or potentially closed, which will allow non manufacturers to conduct their business with a reduced landing cost and reduced price. But even if naira appreciates reducing the landing cost of imported goods, the government will still need to make sure they force importers to reduce their prices because prices can go up easily but it is difficult for them to come down because sellers are naturally opposed to lower prices.

CBN should allow stop given BDCs Forex at cbn rate and instead sell that portion to banks for masterCard transactions abraod (still capped) and payment for Airline tickets

your first point was rubbish.

your second point is pure fantasy. You've obviously never read about the islamization of northern Africa. The Adam and Eve crap is fiction. Evolutionary biology says otherwise.

Your third point is your opinion.

I fully agree with your fourth point. I shouldn't have to share citizenship with people who share your views. We both deserve the opportunity to develop our regions in a way we see fit. Mine through science and liberal views, yours through islamic scholarship (whatever the hell that means) and sharia.
I did study evolution but to suggest that man comes down from apes is just fictitious.

Secondly if you knew islamic history you would know that it has contributed more during its golden era to science than western civilisation, in fact most scientific concept today are attributed to muslim scholars, western people would come to muslim land to study and go back just as Africans are doing today by going to uk or US. Since you love western values why don't they help you develop yourself? If you've been to these countries you will find out that their economic success is primiraly based on immigration, people bringing in skills, labor, and financial resources. if you think they have something special you are wrong

Arguing with people like you is impossible. So I'll get straight to the point:

1. A democratic system guarantees freedom of religion up to the extent that it doesn't infringe on other people's freedom, so religious laws certainly aren't above the nation's laws.

2. Your one-sided rant about the western aggressive expansion is ignorant and naive at best. Islam's spread into Africa was equally violent. It's also funny how you implicitly imply that your ancestors had always been Muslims when you were blabbing about culture.

3. I know most of you Muslims believe that Islamic laws are more important than the laws of Nigeria. So, why don't you people stop pretending? Why can't you call for a referendum to split the nation in two? One governed by sharia, the other by a democratic constitution.

4. I am in full support of a referendum to split this nation in two because having a group of people who ALL agree to be governed by ONE set of laws is necessary for sustainable growth and stability.

The honest fact is that you guys do not respect the laws of Nigeria and you're unwilling to change. It's why we have Boko Haram (they want Sharia for the country), it's why we have Sharia operating in a secular country, it's why we have herdsmen killing around instead of going to a court to table their grievances if they have any, it's why we have a parallel system of education even though it's infinitely inferior (almajiri) etc etc.

That's all. I hope you don't reply.
Your argument plainly exposes how confused you are about what you are being told.

1) first make a distinction between democracy and republic. A republic system of governance system guarantees freedom of religion up to the extent that it doesn't infringe on republican values, those values are universal according to them that is why western governments see mainstream religions as bad and try to change religions to conform with republicans values such as sexual liberation and other religious sins, so you they might call some muslims "moderate". And in fact islamic laws have always protected to freedom of religion across times that is why you have christians and jews in muslim societies living peacefully till today

2) You dont know abou that part of history. I challenge you bring one example in history where muslim armies have committed massacres on civilian populations. Muslim armies would only fight against army. In fact it is part of islamic law ( that you hate so much) that when muslims fight war they don't figh women, children, old people, and the people that do not fight them, also it is allowed for muslims to destroy properties during war like buidings, and not destroy the nature around. Also, i certainly believe that my most farther ancestors (Adam and Eve) were muslims.

3) Of course islamic law is more elevated than the constitution, if you think them saraki can come up with laws better than that of God, then i leave you with God the day you shall die and be return to him for reckoning.

4) I am also in full support of that, i think islamic law has the potential to address the ills that make up this society like corruption, and also will provide a platform for economic success by tackling the principal issue preventing entrepreneurship which is property rights.

Boko Haram don't share islamic values, they violate islamic law on a daily basis by killing innocent people. Under sharia law Boko haram people would be executed
