Oponu villager. Is the a hmmm above unintelligent rubbish the reason why the north has more to show than you empty and shallow chest beating unproductive villagers?

Everybody dey talk development and villagers show face with red soil and dirty roads....smh..
its so funny after the devastating effect of the civil war, the igbos can still hold their own. Isn't that beautiFul? After more than 40 years head start and still they can still compare their cities that were ravished by aerial bombardments of FG jet fighters and FG neglect.....these Northern states plus the southern states had the benefit of FG presence but there is not much difference between the SE and other states in Nigeria........but seriously, why are you so bitter and filled with hate? The Igbos would continue to progress in their red and dirty soil whether you like it or not......chinua achebe, chimamanda and others that you will not amount to in life all came from the land of the red soil........as an advice if you keep hating, ur Blood pressuer would rise too high and you probably would die of stroke.

IfeanyiUba Fc is former Gabros fc it was acquired by Ifeanyi Uba early this year.

Yeah its the only club from Anambra currently playing in the NPFL.

Though some great Anambra philatropist are trying to set up different formindable clubsides if only they will plough their resources together rather than proriferation of clubs.

Anayo Obiakor is running a very good club side in Awka and they are now known as SMITH CITY FC (The Iron stallions) they were 4th position at the concluded Anambra federations cup.

While the Great Ikpeazu family of Onitsha have re-acquired Anambra United of onitsha renaming it Ikpeazu Roundtables FC they were the 2nd runners up in the states FAcup

Cardinal Arinze (Catholic Archdiocese of Onitsha) have also acquired Anambra Pillars and they are now known as Cardinal FC they played in the states federation cup final and represented Anambra state along side Ifeanyiuba(Gabros fc) in the National FA cup competition as they were the 1st runners up in the states FA cup which Ifeanyiuba won.

I heard talks are ongoing to transfer Udoji united rights to new owners @Neros sports complex management in Nanka after d completion of the facility.

It is on record that Anambra remains the only state in Nigeria running football clubs without any form of government intervention and have over the years churn out stars flying the Nigeria's green-white-green right from the days of Jasper and Udoji united. Austin Ejide was Gabros' goalkeeper when he was called for the super eagles team in Japan/Korea 2002!!!

Players like Jeotex Frimpong of Ghana, Taye Taiwo, Solomon Okoronkwo, Chinedu Ogbuke(obasi), Daniel Akpeyi etc. All started here from Anambra
one problem I have with most igbo businesses are their poor website.....whe you go to other FC abroad, u are enthralled by the quality and presentation of how they want people to view their club...thes SE states and igbos in general should work on that...I go to Eyimbas site and am not really impressed...I hope the ubah guy would set a standard and I believe he would... ....am happy there are many clubs in anambra as I stated once before, the SE have provided a lot of great athletes and I believe that there are many out there who are willing to go into sports its just the government or individuals making people have the interest..........sports is a money making venture with the right administrators......the Nigerian basketball team won for the first time gold and a chance to compete in the olympics....but the sad thing was the fact that most of the yoruba or igbo basketballers were born in the US......I want anambra state to be a pace setter when it comes to education and sports.......

Why you think I ignored the dude. It's highly pathetic!!! Claiming those that African Americans as yoruba because their ancestors descended from "yoruba" or got a name from yoruba during a visit is just completely sad and reeks of inferiority complex. If that's the case then their isn't such thing as "African american" because every African American descended from some tribe in Africa and we all know how African Americans do not want to associate themselves to Africans and quick to let person know they aren't Africans therefore, I just find it pathetic!!! Now I see why AA always ego trip themselves that Africans are always claiming them

There is a recently trending fad all over nairaland now that the ibos use in consoling themselves that Yorubas don't go out of their enclave in the southwest and as such, are less exposed. grin I usually reel in laughter at their folly. Yorubas dont usually do interstate because we believe our region to be better than any other in Nigeria unlike some people that sees the southwest especially Lagos as their own London.

To give a few instances, there are lot of cities in south America where Yoruba culture and Language are most prominent, heck they even celebrate our festivals and revere our kings like the alaafin of Oyo for instance.

Don't even let me talk about the UK scenario. Now law enforcement in Uk are trying to employ Yoruba speaking individuals in Uk cos of the sheer magnitude of immigrants in the country. We are found everywhere all over the world and we live all over as prominent citizens respective of our hosts.
not to be disrespectful to your. Tribe but the country in south america you are talking about is brazil.....the yorubas there were there as a result of slave trade not necessarily because the yorubas travel a lot.......I think the UK and ireland are the countries were the yorubas have a sizeable population compared to the igbos.....in SA, igbos are more, togo, cameroun, angola, ghana igbos are more than the yorubas........in the US, I doubt if the yourubas are more because texas has a very huge population of igbos.......igbos are in germany,china,taiwan,malaysia.....back in the days, igbos were headed in the direction of holland and belgium but I doubt if they still go there en mass.....they prefer asia particularly for business cause of cheap labour and production.......these are the ones I know.......maybe there are others.....but most importantly, igbos are the largest population second to the indigenous population of most states in Nigeria..........whether the yorubas feel theirs is the best is not the issue, but to the fact that right before the war and even after, igbos have always been people who move a lot...... Least I forget, igbos have a sizeable population in israel........I know a couple of dudes there.......I know the igbos brag which I see nothing wrong with that might be excessive at times, but when they say they travel more than the yorubas, its not about chest beating, its about facts....am not a tribal dude. And I don't need any insult. Just stated the obvious.....but if you as a yoruba person disapproves, we could start with Nigeria. From the first to the last states then when through, we go and check african states if not enough then we go international...........

I have a feeling that these information would probably be use for things we really do not know about. And it was exactly what I told a dude when I heard about the sim registration........the annoying thing is the total lack of respect and disregard for an average citizen of Nigeria. Its totally disgusting and uncalled for. When we as a people even if we have never been united from day one understand the power we wield, we won't be taken for a ride and everybody would sit up. One mistake we are making again is on this buhari issue. I never had faith or believed in him because I read his profile when he was in his forties. Not really a qualification that's worth emulating but that aside, we are really relaxing on the president. And it is the mistake we make all the time. It happened during OBJ,it happened during yaradua and then GEJ and now its happening in the tenure of Buhari. We have to insist on these people from the presidency, the state and the local government to do the right thing.........if we relax because most of us have been sleeping with 24hrs light,I doubt if we make any head way. And that's the reason for all these insults from people who should be our servants because its us that makes them have the money to function as a company on our shores..........Nigerians should wake up....

Politics › Re: Emulating The Unity Of The Northerners - My Experience. by meccuno: 6:57am On Sep 02, 2015
peppyluv02:
I was in the FESTAC area of Lagos to see a friend and we decide to go to a place called 'sweet sensation' to cure my sweet tooth wink. I stopped a bike man who was a northerner and said to him,'take me to sweet sensation,do you know the place?'. He agreed and kept bragging about how much he knows the whole of FESTAC so we stopped the second bike man for my friend,a northerner too but he was honest enough to admit he doesn't know the place but the first guy told him not to worry and just drive behind us.

I don't stay in the town,I visit often but still not familiar with the roads. While we were moving,I noticed we were not on the right direction and then he stopped in front of a bar with a sign post 'BIG FISH' and said,'madam,na here'..... Immediately I said to myself, you are the foolish one for trusting an abok! who only understands 'go,come and money' in English then I said to him 'Ah! No be here o! I no go pay you o!. And he said,'ok,I don remember'. We continued our journey. Now,we have driven for about five minutes and I was certain that the ride was supposed to be less than three minutes so I asked him to stop and my friend stopped behind us. We started shouting and blaming each other,he couldn't understand a word we were saying and we didn't understand him too(I blamed myself for not being fluent in Hausa because I was born and raised in the north). He kept shouting 'I no go again, pay me my money, I carry you go am for 'see sentation'(that was how he pronounced it),you say no be him, walahi! you must pay me. He parked his bike, came down ready for a fight and while all these was happening, the second guy kept quiet. Immediately,a good samaritan,an Igbo guy who was fluent in Hausa passed by and helped us out. He gave them the right direction in Hausa and the same guy who was ready to fight started laughing and asked me to climb the bike as he now knows the road. Well,I had no choice than to go with him.
When we finally got to the place,my friend said to the guy who carried me,'we will only pay you hundred naira which is our actual fare and we don't care about the distance because it was all your fault,he accepted the money while still pleading with us to add something but we refused. We paid the other guy who carried my friend,a hundred and fifty naira for being honest in the first place and patient too.

Then, the second guy did something that surprised I and my friend. He had a hundred and fifty naira, while the other had hundred naira. He brought out twenty naira from his pocket and offered to the guy we gave hundred naira! What! shocked These abok!s love themselves o! shocked I screamed. Especially, the Hausa/Fulanis. They were not even together when we stopped them so,I'm certain they are not related. They are united, they are first northerners before any other. Truth be told,no tribe would have done that. Infact, there is a fifty percent chance that if they were Igbos, the second guy who had a hundred and fifty naira will still charge the guy with a hundred naira extra fifty naira for wasting his time and fuel cheesy. They saw us staring at them and starting laughing, waved and went their separate ways. That's what I call unity and love. smileyWish every tribe will emulate these people. They have one voice and support each other, you hardly see them fight themselves in public and this act is obvious even in politics.

I have northern friends and of course muslims, who support Jonathan but the last thing they will do even on social media is to criticize Buhari or any of their leaders. They can only discuss it with you but not in public. Even in their religion, they have sects but they will never criticize each other unlike the Christians who make mockery of themselves openly especially when other denominations constantly attack the catholic faith. An hajiya in my class once asked me to explain to her why the Christians are not United, why do we have different denominations and I answered, 'just the way you have different sects in Islam and the last time I checked, they don't also agree with each other'. With that,I called it a day and walked out of the class in order to avoid any religious argument.
the igbo man would probably charge extra and maybe you guys would be in a fight and he won't share the money not in this life time. I think an average Northerner and I mean the hausa ones are probably one of the most peaceful people to be around with. But when it comes to their RELIGION, run for your life...... that their religion is one big problem..........they still have bad ones like every other tribe.......but they live a very calm life......no stress no worries no problem............but never play with their religion or you might be toast

it's better than setting a very high standard which they won't meet, hence, constituting social nuisance and insecurity to we the educated. imagine what would have been the case with boko haram if the northerners don't go to sch at al. They needs to be forced, enticed, wooed and every other mean available just to put them in school.
its not better in any way. Nigeria's educational system is not up there and the best thing to do is worsen it? This country is in a mess because of the leadership of the North and the country won't get better when you throw merit through the window just to appease a group of people who do not value education? One reason the North made Noise from the beginning of GEJs tenure was because if things were done right, it won't favour them.........okay let's check the history of leadership........Nnamdi azikiwe had a PHD while tafawa balewa was an ordinary school teacher......when Awolowo who was extremely qualified contested, another school teacher was brought to head the government with someone who was more qualified than he was Dr alex ekwueme.......fast forward to 1994, even if am not a fan of abiola,he was killed because of what he had to offer and we had better candidates too.......1999, alex ekwueme was there with plenty qualifications and he was substituted for obj just to pacify the west.........we are going around in circles.....if after 40 years of rulling and the North cannot be educated, then we are in serious trouble.......I am a firm believer in education and its impact on the society, giving them a cut off mark that low is bvlshit.....
