Very possible.

It is a government subsidized unity school system, not a merit based system.

Let Anambra fill up its allotted quota with 139, while Yobe fills up its own allotted quota too with 2. No state will deprive the other of its own quota.

Very fair and just where merit is not the primary consideration but the intended unity for which such schools were established.
I think you are very dum.b for this statement.......and that's me being polite.....why don't you make your child become an indegene of yobe state to make it easy for u? And you claim to be educated but you make statements that show how low your I.Q is and your ways of reasoning must you justify stvpidity because you are an idio.tic bigot?

Through out his six years of mismanagement, he only engaged a Yoruba man as Accountant General of the Federation(Mr. Ola). [b]They're already regretting. Most of the vocal ones I know have suddenly become docile. Shame nor let some talk. They put up lame defence like "as long as Buhari performs".. undecided.

While the South is waiting for performance and change as they say, the North has already gotten their change and they're consolidating on it, securing their future and political grip on the country.

Sad but true, Tinubu might just have sold the Yorubas to slavery. How long it will last is what's not known yet. What was he bloody expecting aligning with Buhari?

If Tinubu is as astute as some imply, he would have brought out Fashola or someone else and sell his candidate. Not standing behind an already known Nothern figure and act as a war chest. Now I really believe Yinka Odumakin who aptly described Tinubu as one who plays Ludo in Lagos and couldn't understand the Chess game played in Abuja.

Even CBN governor and NNPC GMD are headed by Delta Igbos. As it's turning out to be I'm sure at the end of the day the political juggernauts from the South West will discover Jonathan was a better deal!

politically speaking, let us drop sentiments aside or even Nigerias development. Crude politics is what is being played in Nigeria. I don't know why the SW felt that they would be able to tell the Northerners what to do. And the annoying thing is that they believe that they and the North are pals.....a brief example is the SW muslims and the Northern muslims.....they don't usually pray in the same mosque and even if they do,that mosque would never be headed by a yoruba Muslim.....even a friends gate man as uneducated as he is says the yorubas are not straight forward people because they practice their culture and traditions before religion........when the mai guard was saying this I was like wow.....the North base most of their political decisions on religion and tribal affiliation......they feel that they are more superior....I didn't vote for buhari because going buy his antecedents, he lacks the profile of who would move Nigeria where we want us to be........the north might be comfortable with the country this way because they have always been laid back and are not that ambitious when it comes to life but the south is a different kettle of fish........the truth is, and I choose my words carefully is that the North benefits from doing things the wrong way because it puts them In a very strategic position. If things where to be done rightly, they would be the greatest loosers.....that is why they have to be in the helm of affairs.......but how long they would be in control is what I don't know.....the igbos where I come from are people who do not like to be bossed around......and the civil war even made them more aggressive in nature......they would always complain and feel non chalant about Nigeria...........if everybody is given a fair chance @ making it in Nigeria, the North would loose out........but why the SW decided to piTch tent with these people beats my imagination.....the SW would have had a say in GEJs government but they blew that chance.....I still feel sorry for those who think having light generation is the only means to development............it would soon clear in their eyes

N.B: The essence of this information is mainly to expose the lies of the notorious history distortionists and wicked propagandists who insult and malign others continually with lies and falsehood, and shout and make much noise on every available media. This a tribe that is after all well known for being loose cannons. Uncouth, uncivilised and disrespectful set of people who made a career out of abuse and slurs.
The same treacheerous beings who precipitated the January 1966 coup and the 1967-70 civil war with their bloody 'Operation Wetie ' in the SW. They start trouble and heat up the polity only to run cowardly to hide in their evil Soka forest when the jungle matures.

Disciple of hate and propaganda, here are the members of Yoruba tribe that participated in the January 1966 coup:
(See Ben Gbulie: ‘Nigeria’s Five Majors.’).

*Adewale Ademoyega is the most prominent Yoruba participant in the coup, there were other Yoruba officers who were involved at the dangerous execution stage of the coup. One of them is:

*Second Lieutenant Olafimihan, an officer serving under Madiebo in Kaduna. He was sent by the plotters to gauge his commander’s loyalty. (See Madiebo pp.17-18).

*Another is Lieutenant (some books refer to him as a Captain) Fola Oyewole. He, like Ademoyega, went on to fight for Biafra and wrote a book on his coup and wartime experiences. The book’s title is ‘Reluctant Rebel.’

*There is also Captain Ganiyu Adeleke who became an instructor in the Biafran Infantry School. For confirmation, see the list of coup plotters detained by Ironsi’s regime in Ademoyega pp.106-108, and this quote from Nowa Omoigui’s online account: ‘Mid-Western Invasion of 1967’: ‘Captain Ganiyu Adeleke, who had taken part in both the January 15 coup and the Mid-Western invasion before becoming an instructor in the Biafran School of Infantry was released at a later date after his co-plotters had been freed.’ Omoigui’s work is significant because, though he exhibits a high level of professionalism in his research, he has no sympathy for the January 15 coup. If his facts corroborate Ademoyega’s they are worthy of attention.

"Operation Wetie" in Yoruba means wet a human being and his/her properties with petrol and set them ablaze.

Lagos (in South West) was the capital of Nigeria from 1914 up to 1991, until Abuja officially became Nigeria's capital on 12 December 1991. It was on 14 November 1991, the Presidency and other federal government functions were finally relocated to the new capital city of Abuja.

YORUBAS ARE THE PROBLEM WITH NIGERIA - By Sanusi Lamido
In sum, the Yoruba political leadership, as mentioned by Balarabe Musa, has shown itself over the years to be incapable of rising above narrow tribal interests and reciprocating goodwill from other sections of the country by treating other groups with respect. Practically every crisis in Nigeria since independence has its roots in this attitude.
   * The Yoruba elite and area-boy politics;
    * Igbo marginalisation and the responsible limits of retribution; and
    * The Yoruba Factor and "Area-boy" Politics.
My views on the Yoruba political leadership have been thoroughly articulated in some of my writings, prime among which was " Afenifere: Syllabus of Errors" published by This Day (The Sunday Newspaper) on Sept 27, 1998. REMI FANI KAYODE, AKINTOLA, AWOLOWO, WESTERN REGION AND THE CRISIS THAT TRUNCATED THE FIRST REPUBLIC

These captains of the “tribalism industry” have good incentives to always omit the causes of the January 1966 coup preferring instead to dwell only on the coup itself. The reason  is simple;  It was  in their own  Western region  then known as the “wild wild west”  that  election rigging, thuggery, violence, arson, mass murders and other  forms of corruption and acts of lawlessness that occasioned the January 1966 coup  took place as pioneering acts in Nigeria.

Soon after Nigeria got independence the Western region was in turmoil. Premier Ladoke Akintola and Chief Obafemi  Awolowo became embroiled in a protracted crisis. By 1962 the crisis led to sustained violence and acts of lawlessness with law makers engaged in vicious physical combats in the Western regional parliament. Amongst serious injuries and other damages, the mace of office was broken.  The federal government intervened to curb the lawlessness and violence by imposing a state of emergency and appointing Dr Moses Majekodunmi as interim premier of the Western region on the 29th of June 1962. This became the first imposition of a state of emergency in Nigeria’s history due to heightened levels of lawlessness. Following an alliance between Akintola and Ahmadu Bello, Ladoke Akintola was returned to power on the 31st of December 1962 in spite of protests by Dr Nnamidi Azikiwe who requested fresh elections rather than reinstating Ladoke Akintola.

By 1963, the plot between Akintola, Tafawa Balewa and Ahmadu Bello was perfected and Chief Obafemi Awolowo was arrested for coup plotting/ treason. His trial commenced in earnest and he was alongside some accomplices convicted for treason and jailed for 10 years. This again was the first alleged coup plotting and conviction in Nigerian history. Intent on totally decimating Chief Awolowo, Ladoke Akintola together with vice premier Remi Fani Kayode went into a political alliance with Prime minister Tafawa Balewa and new political party known as the Nigerian National Alliance (NNA) was formed.  By this time Dr Nnamidi Azikiwe had realised the folly of entering a coalition with Tafawa Balewa’s government   and teamed up with incarcerated Chief Awolowo’s Action group to form the all progressive grand alliance (UPGA).

In 1964, federal elections became due. As usual ethnic chauvinism, intimidation and violence was part of the frenzied campaigning. Remi Kayode and Akintola’s campaign was as usual almost entirely based on tribalism. When the elections were finally held, it was massively rigged in the Western region. Indeed deputy premier Remi Fani Kayode had famously boasted that “there is nothing they can do, whether they vote us or not, we will win.” This statement turned out to be true as massive rigging was orchestrated in the elections.  Once again this became the first pioneering act of election rigging by indigenous actors in Nigeria’s history. The announcement of the rigged election results quickly sparked off unprecedented acts of thuggery, violence, arson, mass murders and general acts of lawlessness in the Western region.

Daily mass murders and arson became routine in the Western region (wetie). This violence and lawlessness in the Western region was to continue from 1964 until 1966 when the military lost patience and finally struck.

The Western region was thus a region in crisis from the onset of post-colonial rule. By the time of the military coup, Chief Obafemi Awolowo himself was incarcerated for treason and the region was practically on an uncontrollable violence and trajectory of self destruction for almost two years from 1964 to 1966.
At the same time that the Western region was aflame the Eastern region was calm and democratic. Unlike the Western region there were no cases of election rigging, thuggery or other such acts of lawlessness in the East. In the North there was sporadic violence in the TIV division which was put down by the military.

Of all the regions, the western region was torn the most by crisis and acts of lawlessness which eventually occasioned the coup. If the leadership of the Western region had played by the rules and avoided the infighting, the election rigging, the thuggery, the  planning of a coup in 1963, the  arson, the mass murders and other  such corrupt acts and vices  many of which were being  introduced for the first time  in Nigeria  and which incidentally continues to haunt the nation to date, there would have been no coup and Nigeria would no doubt have immensely benefited from  a  functional democracy  devoid of election rigging, thuggery and violence as it obtains  in many progressive nations around the world.

The leadership of the Western region in conspiracy with Prime Minister Tafawa Balewa and Ahmadu Bello are singularly responsible for the events and crisis that truncated the first republic and ruined the nation.

Those who carried out the coup choose to act out of genuine anger and frustration at the carnage in the Western region.  Whatever the demerits of the coup, It is obvious the coupists had nothing to gain other than the patriotic urge to end the corruption and lawlessness that had taken hold of the nation particularly the Western region.

Yorubas created the crisis that occasioned the coup and whose region the coup saved from self destruction are  some of the biggest ungrateful noisemakers  who peddle  the propaganda  of  colouring  an anti corruption revolutionary coup with patriotic ideals  very similar to that of  Flt Lt  Jerry Rawlings  in a tribal garb. In Ghana, Jerry Rawlings led a coup that eliminated three former heads of state, top military officers and top members of the judiciary. Not one of those killed was from Jerry Rawlings Ewe tribe, but Ghanaians didn’t spew tribalism into the coup and Ghana is better for it. With too many vultures and opportunists...preying on tribalism in Nigeria the story was bound to be different and thus a coup driven out of patriotism and obvious anger at the state of affairs was reconstructed as an Igbo coup and the worms were let out from the woodwork.

JANUARY 1966 COUP

Adewale Ademoyega, a full blooded Yoruba army officer, was deeply involved in the planning and execution of the January coup. His book ‘Why We Struck’ gives insight into the coup’s antecedents; planning; modus operandi and partial success. Any study of January 15 that ignores Ademoyega’s book is incomplete.

In a September 5 2010 interview with ‘The Nation’ newspaper, Matthew Mbu, then a Junior Defence Minister, narrated how, at an Air Force base in Kaduna on an official assignment on 5 January 1966, he was bluntly told by Brigadier Samuel Ademulegun that the military was going to sack the government. Ademulegun made no bones about their plan to shoot key members of the political class, notably Chief Okotie-Eboh, the Minister for Finance.

... the killing of Lieutenant-Colonel Arthur Unegbe is attributed to his possession and non-surrender of the Lagos armoury keys to the plotters.
As professional soldiers the plotters knew this. Going by the accounts of Ademoyega and Gbulie who wrote ‘Nigeria’s Five Majors,’ what the plotters desperately needed were armoured vehicles to consolidate their gains in Lagos on January 15.

In page 60 of his book, Ademoyega mentioned Unegbe as one of the officers he and his colleagues had marked down for arrest.

Northern officers and men were involved, especially at the execution stage. Max Silloun, the military historian, mentions them in his landmark online article ‘The inside story of Nigeria’s first military coup Parts 1 and 2.’ It can be accessed from most search engines. Prominent among these Northern officers was the then Lieutenant John Atom Kpera who later became the Benue State governor in the Babangida regime. Kpera participated in the coup under Captain Ben Gbulie, Nzeogwu’s right hand-man in Kaduna. (See Ben Gbulie: ‘Nigeria’s Five Majors.’).

Although Adewale Ademoyega is the most prominent Yoruba participant in the coup, there were other Yoruba officers who were involved at the dangerous execution stage of the coup. One of them is Second Lieutenant Olafimihan, an officer serving under Madiebo in Kaduna. He was sent by the plotters to gauge his commander’s loyalty. (See Madiebo pp.17-18). Another is Lieutenant (some books refer to him as a Captain) Fola Oyewole. He, like Ademoyega, went on to fight for Biafra and wrote a book on his coup and wartime experiences. The book’s title is ‘Reluctant Rebel.’ There is also Captain Ganiyu Adeleke who became an instructor in the Biafran Infantry School. I read carefully the thread on appointments. Made by buhari and I was shocked to my marrows what actually came out of the hearts of so called Nigerians especially the APC and die hard buhari fans. And the same thing is happening today on this thread. What my conclusions are is the Nigeria would never succeed with this our mind set. I don't know if the average black man has been cursed or we decided to be a curse to our selves. Many ignorant people who blindly and foo.lishly support the sarduanas assertion about the igbos in the so called northern civil service do not know that the federal character was created as a result to checkmate the dominance of the then civil service which was dominated by the igbos. The truth is that the people who employed were the british who felt that they were qualified. The south especially in the mould of nnamdi azikiwe was sympathetic to their cause of not being ready for independence because they were not ready for it and that if allowed, the south would always dominate. Fast forward to 2015, the same North who refused to go to school has the same problem of very few and less educated people compared to the south. So whose fault is that? A situation where a student from zamfara has to score just 2 to gain admission while someone from imo or anambra has to score almost 200 speaks volumes....and someone has the guts to support what the sarduana said? The reason why Nigeria is messed up is because the North has been rulling this country for more than 40 years. If as leaders, things as ridiculous as polio is still prevalent in your region, then you have no business being in the helm of affairs..........Nigeria will never succeed with injustice, tribalism, religious intolerance............quote me.....Buhari as a president is doing exactly what sarduana would have done. And that is Northern Dominance.........or you thought the NE voting consistently for the times buhari contested was for the progress of this nation? What reasonable decision do you think an almajari who isn't an adult but voted or shoe makers and cattle reares know about an economy? Am sorry for this country

This is a very idiotic point of view. In a multi ethnic political environment like Nigeria in which distrust and delicate relations exists between the numerous ethnicities that make up the country, it is incredibly daft for people like you to not "give a damn" when other sections of the country are marginalised in terms of representation in government.

The framers of the constitution, in their wisdom, understood the ethnic diversity of Nigeria, hence the need for federal character. You cannot say that merit can only be found in one part of the country.
the "framers" of the constitution were Northerners........who manipulated these laws to suit their selfish interest. The federal character is only applied when it suits them. And when it doesn't then this nonsense of "if the person is qualified then I don't give a damn" comes in. Funny enough these people where the same people who played the ethnic card when a few igbos were employed by GEJ. Its not a curse. But if the system isn't balanced and merit not allowed to take centre stage, then we will never move forward. Am just sorry for some Nigerians who have put their hope in this government. They have ruled for over 40 years and we are still in the stone age. Gej ruled for 6 years and he was the one who destroyed the country.....some people sha......light has improved and it shows that nothing was actually wrong with these things just a bunch of people playing politics with the lives of Nigerians......am not against GMB being honest and all, but it would take more than honesty to move Nigeria forward......till when we get things right, the wilderness is just a beginning of our wandering........

Years of federal government neglect. As a normal policy of holding them down at all cost. And equally, the state government should share in the blame of the backwardness of these places. Because certain people do not want to see you progress doesn't mean you should help them. All parts of Nigeria its fair share of bad leadership, but complaining and whining about it isn't the solution. The igbos should try as much as possible to elect technocrats who really want to move their individual states forward. With or without the FG. And lastly, they should engage more in politics. Life isn't all about the quantity of money you make. But the impact you make around your surrounding. The igbos should change this mentality of it doesn't concern me. Or everyman for himself....it usually back fires

I’m also writing this to perform a total knockout on the myth that yorubaland cannot survive without the oil from the niger delta if left alone which irks me a lot because in my opinion i feel we yorubas will be the biggest beneficiaries of autonomy or at worse the break-up of the country.the realities on ground prove this.i owe no one apologies when i say i'm yoruba first before i'm Nigerian because i believe the unitary system has failed us as a people and is currently killing our potentials so i'm not really pro One nigeria per se even though i know a lot of my brothers are not with me on this. before the Collapse of the regional system of government in Nigeria. Yorubaland was seen as a model for every other part of the country and its successes till date is still unmatched. that was the golden era of the yorubas.the context of this write up though is yorubaland but i also recognized the status of Nigeria as a federal republic while also recognizing its imperfections hence the exclusion of parts of kogi state and kwara state. before i go further below is just some of the achievements of the old western region before the oil boom era

-The first TV station in Africa- WNTV ahead of many European countries including france
-The first university teaching hospital in West Africa-UCH
-The first sky scraper in Africa- Cocoa house ibadan
-The first stadium in West Africa -The liberty stadium ibadan which was relied upon by the whole country for more than three decades
-The first hotel in Nigeria – The premier hotel ibadan
-The first hospital in Nigeria- Sacred heart Abeokuta
-The first industrial estates- Oluyole an ilupeju Industrial estate
-First to implement free primary education and free health care programmes and implemented the first minimum-wage policy by a Nigerian government at any level
-Built the best network of roads which was emulated by Ahmadu Bello
-the first Newspaper Iwe irohin as far back as 1949
-During that period the western region government paid its workers higher wages than any other region in Nigeria and as such attracted a lot of foreigners from ghana,,benin republic and togo. mass migration form other parts of the country both from the eastern region and northern region

The bottom line is the southwest was far ahead of its time in africa during that period. All of these achieved entirely with the proceeds from cocoa, rubber and timber before the oil boom. we've done it before and we can do it again. i can confidently say all of these achievements will be child play if we're left to develop at our own pace

Finally i did an X-ray of every thing needed to have a stable economy and i was unable to find anything we lack

Below is just a summary of the resources and potentials of yorubaland if regional autonomy is granted or at worst if the country finally splits

OYO STATE
-Oyo state is hugely blessed with gemstones. it has the most gemstones after nassarawa and plateau states .sapphires in itesiwaju, iwajowa, ibarapa, atisbo, oluyole. aquamarines in oluyole, saki west, ona ara, spessarites and paraiba tourmalines in atisbo, egbeda, ibarapa.oluyole, saki and several locations of the state. all of these in huge quantities. these are some of the most valuable gemstones one can ever think of but unfortunately being mined by foreigners
-Oyo state is the largest producer of Tobacco in Nigeria
-its also the home of the Yoruba textile industry(aso oke fabrics). An extremely lucrative industry
-Ibadan is the largest city in sub-saharan Africa and its also the political capital of yoruba land. It also boasts of a huge population
-Oyo state is unarguably the agricultural centre of the yoruba region as it produces the most crops of all the yoruba states due to its close proximity to the north. Its also blessed with huge arable land

ONDO STATE

-Ondo state has large crude oil reserves and a lot of natural resources. It's the largest oil producing state after the South/s states.
-the state is blessed with huge natural gas reserves too and a little bit of limestone and coal
-It also boasts of the second largest bitumen deposits in the world. Bitumen also known as oil sands is the backbone of the Canadian economy and also countries like venezuela and madagascar
-Ondo state is the largest producer of cocoa in Nigeria and accounts for 60% of the country's cocoa which is our biggest non-oil export. Its also a potential chocolate manufacturing hub
-the state also has huge tourism potentials idanre hills, igbo olodumare, owo museum e.t.c
-The state is blessed with fisheries due to its close proximity to the sea
-The state is also showing signs of being the future medical capital of yorubaland as a result of its huge success in the health sector

OGUN STATE

-Ogun state is an industrialized state, with the largest concentration of industries in Nigeria. Ota, sagamu and agbara
-The largest and purest deposits of limestone in the country are found in ogun state.Extensive limestone deposits in the state can last for some five hundred years according to scientists and the largest Cement factory in West Africa is located in the state
-it home to the most enterprising people in africa (the ijebu people) these people have produced the most successful businessmen in Africa
-its also Home to the largest tie and dye market in the whole of Africa. the kaita adire/kampala market abeokuta
-The state is home to the most universities in Nigeria
-its also the largest kola nut collecting centre in Nigeria

OSUN STATE
-Osun state has over a billion dollars worth of gold deposits
-its also the largest producer of potato in Nigeria
-the state with its rich history is extremely blessed with tourism sites and festivals. the tourism potential of the state cannot be enumerated. Tourism is its strongest point.
-the state is also home to the adire tie and dye industry
-the state alongside lagos is the tech capital of Yoruba land. Obafemi Awolowo University
-the state is also hugely blessed with arable land

EKITI STATE
-The strongest point of ekiti state is its endownment of intellectuals. the state has produced some of the most reknowned professors in the history of the country and its the intellectual capital of yorubaland
-The state is endowed with numerous tourism sites. ikogosi springs, erinta waterfalls, ero water dam,Olosunta and Orole Hills of Ikere e.t.c

LAGOS STATE
i found it difficult to enumerate the potentials of the state due to its cosmopolitan nature. but i wouldn't mind my brothers here listing out its resources and potentials if regional autonomy is granted and its population of non-Yorubas reduces drastically

EKO ATLANTIC CITY
BADAGRY DOCKYARD
OLOKOLA FREE TRADE ZONE
LEKKI FREE TRADE ZONE
APAPA SEA PORT,TIN CAN ISLAND
LAGOS AIRPORT

-Yoruba land is hugely blessed with what i refer to as intellectual and administrative resources and its home to a lot of great, successful and intelligent people,it has never lacked progressive-minded and vissionary individuals from the awolowo, jakande days to the current ones like fashola and adesina

-Its also blessed with a huge youthful population

-With the rate at which everything is moving towards technology. yorubas are showing promises in this field as evident in OAU so we definitely won't lack in that sector

-A viable entertainment and fashion arts and cultural industry

this is yoruba's biggest problem, they criticise everything. A list that's compiled somewhere else and u r here talking of billionaires in yorubaland. Just like someone pointed out, 100 igbos-3 billionaires,30 millionaires,57 well to dos,10 poor. 100 yorubas- 4 billionaires,10 millionaires,20 well to dos, 66 poor. Now which one is better off.

The war in one way or another also affected odualand but nobody gave us a single penny. And in todays nigeria, we are the most progressive nigerians, the most developed nigerians, the most educated nigerians, the most industrious nigerians, the most accomodating nigerians, the most sophisticated ethnic group in africa.....
I thought I was going to take you serious until you wrote this piece of trash up here....u are really ignorant and I believe u are less than 25 years of age.....I hope that's not what your father has been telling you.

How funny is it to know that everything that migrated from Bini automatically becomes Igbo ? Are Bini people Igbo ?
lolz....I usually come to these kinds of thread so actually see how foo.lish or stup.I'd the op would be. What have I not read on nairaland. They all migrated from benin and all of a sudden became igbo. Ikwerris migrated from benin, aniomas migrated from benin, asaba people migrated from benin, ika migrated from benin, agbor migrated from benin.........then where did benin people migrate from?? You can't tell me adam and eve actually came from edo state. And I hope the OP isn't yoruba. Cause what surprises me how an average sw would all of a sudden know who is igbo and who is not.

Politics › Re: The Main Reason Igbos Want South South Minorities In Biafra by meccuno: 9:34am On Aug 23, 2015
mcvaeey:
I'm not an igbo hater as many people assume. But let the truth be told today, igbos only want south south due to economic gains and nothing else. The South south region is the geopolitical zone in Nigeria and if each south south state where to be a country of its own, it would be one of the richest countries in Africa. Besides Lagos, no other state in Nigeria is richer than any south south state. They all have crude oil in commercial quantities and also access to international waters.

This is the main reason why the igbos are trying to cajole them into demonic union. They igbos always say that south south is not a tribe but an evil manipulation of the north. They say the northerners created the south south in order to divide and rule and call the yorubas all manners of names. The question I want to ask the igbos today are;

Are the people of south south complaining?

Have the people asked them to champion their cause in any way?

Why are they crying more than the bereaved over Gej's loss?

The igbos don't mean well for us. They only want our resources and want to marginalise us. Can a non igbo person hold a position in igboland? Can a non igbo person be sold land to in any part of igboland?

Why then does any sane person think that igbos have genuine intention for us?

Let's assume that biafra is achieved today and the south south joins them in biafra, what will be their contribution to the economy of biafra? What will they bring to the table?

The answer is nothing and the only thing they'll bring to the table is their population. Our history would be wiped out in 10 years if we join them cos they'll igbonise all of us.

An average igbo man is greedy, deceitful and can never be trusted.
but seriously, an edo man doesn't have anything in common with an igbo man. And I don't think the igbos would even want anything to do with the edos. So I wonder why the op is wasting his time making edo people relevant. Its not as if they even have any strong point to require the merger apart from cultism, prostitution, and witch craft. My 2cents

Sports › Re: NPFL Winner To Pocket N80m by meccuno: 10:05am On Aug 22, 2015
sltn:
The winer of the 2014/2015 season of the Globacom-sponsored Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) will pocket a whopping N80m after proceedings have been concluded on the final day of the league, the chairman of the League Management Company (LMC), Mallam Shehu Dikko, has revealed.

Dikko, who made the disclosure while speaking as a guest on yesterday’s edition of the African Independent Television’s morning show, Kakaaki, said: “The club that wins the league this season will earn as much as N80m in revenue share, merit award, bonuses and kind and even the relegated club will earn a minimum of N55m. There are incentives for away wins, draws, attracting crowds to the games and we also provide official match balls to the teams including kit bags for the players. More importantly, we are seeking pool sponsorship for all 20 clubs so their finances will improve and consequently, the welfare of players as well as drive the commercialisation of the clubs so as to make them attractive to investors”

Also, Dikko disclosed that it was high time the government partakes in developing the stadia for the league, because after years of support and financial backing from the private sector, the LMC said it would love the government to participate more and help the game of football in the country grow in leaps and bounds.

“Since the LMC came aboard, our funding has been sourced from commercial partnerships as is the practice globally. Though we appreciate the companies that have bought rights from us, we are still not where we should be financially. This explains our recent visit with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to the Nigeria Stock Exchange,” he disclosed.

Also, he made a case for the game in the nation, citing successful examples around the world.

“In the 1990’s, the government of Margareth Thatcher in the UK provided over £200m for the upgrading of stadia facilities across England and that contributed critically to what we have today as the best League in the world. More so, today, the UK Government is one of the biggest beneficiaries of the EPL, generating billions of pounds in taxes, football tourism, jobs and other socio-economic activities that are hinged on the EPL in the UK. We also would seek government’s intervention in this direction. We are not asking for funds to be handed to anyone but for government to directly fund the upgrade of existing grounds and provision of required broadcast equipment and facilities in the stadia,” he posited.

they should have just rounded it up to 100 million. I was actually wondering why most NPL clubs have all of a sudden woken up. Kudos. We will get there soon.
