1. Login to CGI, click on 'Update profile and look out for where old DS-160 number was written then clear it off, and type the new DS-160 confirmation number in the space. Click save and logout. Log back tomorrow and print another visa appointment letter. The new appointment letter will display your new DS-160 confirmation number , therefore, you have perfected the update.

1. Fill another DS-160 and indicate Business Seminar as your purpose of visit . You must also update necessary dates , arrival city etc on your DS-160 in order to align with what you would be telling the consular on the day of your interview.

2. Also, remember that you need an invitation letter from the seminar organisers and this must be corroborated by your employer. Some consulars does not like much questioning, so, they rely on your DS-160 info.

PS: Your previous USA sojourn will count a bit if you did not violate the terms.

PS: Update your DS-160 and print out another appointment letter after updating.

I have a concern, I applied for B1/B2 visa with purpose of just vacation, after a month I got an invitation to attend a seminar in USA fully sponsored by my company. What is the best way to go about the main purpose of the travel, should I stick to what is in the DS-160 application or the seminar, seminar is coming up next month and I was able to get an expedited interview date this month. I am travelling for the seminar first. I have a good job and dont intend to japa o. Please I need your advice. Also, I have travelled to US before and visa expired 6 years back.

I don't usually do this but I think you should be careful of who you use as point of contact in the US.
Do you know how the person migrated to the US?
Your being independent in the US gives you a better chance in my own opinion.
I think you shouldn't reapply in a hurry it will only show sign of desperation.

I have been on this thread many years ago right from part 1.

I got my visa some days back, if I had followed you guys mouth I would have been scared to go ahead with my interview.

All you guys telling people they are not qualified to apply for US Visa, please stop that... there are people well qualified with strong family ties, married with children, travel history and have a well paid job that are still denied US visa.

I know of people with no strong ties to Nigeria...single, low pay job, no travel history... that were still given visa.

Let the VO decide their fate; stop talking rude and harsh to people that they are not qualified to apply for the US Visa.

My advice to all, take time to fill the DS-160 form, you don't have to be in a hurry filling it and ensure you are honest in the form. Most questions you will be asked is base on what you filled in the form.

When a woman nags and gets angry over nothing it means something may be bothering her so much that she cannot even identify easily. You guys need to see a marriage counselor and a psychologist. Once a psychologist can identify what may be bothering her, I believe you guys will be fine. Also you need to be more open to her, share secrets with her, tell her to proffer solution to a problem(even if you don't have a problem, create one) then maybe she may start telling you her own problem.

I guess its because the front passenger or driver is more at risk of death or severe injury in the case of an accident. If you're at the back you've got the seats in front of you (which are usually cushioned) to stop you from serious harm, but the front occupants can end up flying out of the vehicle if seat belts are not worn.
Its the same reason many cars have only front airbags.

I don't total agree with your points.

Yes you may be right that the front seats may cushion the back passengers incase of any impact/collision but that is assumed if the back passengers are putting on their seat belt else they will equally be flying out the window or hitting you from the back.

The back seat passengers are required to also put on their seat belt. If there is a collision/accident and the back passengers are not putting on their seat belt, they pose more danger to you in the front seat because the force will propel them towards the front seat and you might have head to head collision with you in the front.

So I advise when you are driving your friends and family, always insist the back seat passengers put on their seat belts, because you never can tell when an accident will occur.

Use your GTB cc to make hotel reservation..... some of the hotels do not need you to pay out-rightly they jsut want you to book. You can try booking.com , they allow booking without payment.

Take her to a dermatologist, you can go to any teaching hospital close to you, if they don't have one they will refer you to one.

This looks like a fungi infection, so not just any drugs will cure this.

tzetzefly: The white paper is to signify that you were unsuccessful for the interview. It has no specified significance.

It all depends on what you were doing while waiting for your turn. Activities are always caught on camera hidden from clear view. Always be careful what you do while inside the Embassy/ Consulate.

I went for my interview today, I noticed the VO lady in the 2nd section was just denying people visa giving them blue paper, I was looking at her and praying she won't be the one to interview me, she caught my gaze, she stood up and I guess she purposely went to get my passport, I was called to her section, my mind skipped like a child that was called to be punished, she interviewed me, I answered all my questions well, she pulled a white was happy at the split seconds, next she said she's sorry blah blah blah...

@OP what is the difference in blue paper denial and white paper denial? My passport is expiring in Feb 2015, could that also be a reason why I wasn't given a visa?

tayoamos: Its is better u sponsor yourself and don't say your sister will sponsor u, unless u are less than age18, that's when u can say u can be sponsored. Vo will not take it lightly with u if u say your sister will sponsor your tripat an age more than 18.
There is a car park at the embassy, but u can't go in with your phone and car key as the security will not allow that. U have to go with someone that will stay behind and keep the custody of your phone, keys and other materials. Does that answer your question ?

abujaniv: The passport book number is found on the bio-data page of your passport (where your picture is). It is the number in the upper right hand corner.

Thanks for your response, i have already filled and submitted my D-160 form, i dont think the passport book number is applicable to Nigerian passport, so I clicked "not applicable" when filing the form. I hope to get the US Visa anyway...
