Politics2015 Elections: Open Letter To My Igbo Brothers by medamillion(op): 10:00am On Mar 26, 2015
Saw this mind-opening letter on Facebook and decide to share.
medamillion:
2015 Elections: LETTER TO MY IGBO BROTHERS

With just 1 day to the long anticipated general election, and seeing the way things are going, I am compelled to write this letter to all progress loving Nigerians particularly Ndi Igbo Nwafor.
I have observed we Igbos are mostly voting on religion and tribal lines. This we must stop if we want a better Nigeria.
Let's look beyond religion and tribes and see which party is likely to be of more benefit to the masses.

WHY VOTING JONATHAN/PDP MAY LIKELY NOT FAVOUR US:

1) Jonathan will have nothing to lose: Once elected, whatever the cry of the masses maybe, he knows that either he act on it or not, he is leaving by 2019. So he has no challenges.
An example is the issue of Stella Odua who bought N255M bullet proof cars amidst poverty-strikened Nigerians; she was initially investigated but now the case has been swept under the carpet.

2) He must recover his dollars: Report has it that, President Jonathan, in his urge to retain power, has embarked on the policy of dollarization. All this money: some given to our pastors, obas, OPC etc shall be recovered at the detriment of OUR (taxpayer's) money.

3) PDP will take us for granted: The impression that the incumbent cannot be defeated and they will rule us for 60 years according to one of them will remain in their heart. A victory for the PDP is a slap on democracy.

WHY VOTING BUHARI/APC MAY FAVOUR THE MASSES:

I have only one reason:
This party is NOT the party of the saints but the way things are now, they have tendency to give us a better form of governance different from what we have witnessed in the past 16years under the PDP.

1) They have a lot to lose: The APC will be under pressure to deliver. They know that if they do not perform after 4years, the stronger party (PDP) will takeover again.
This party will like to take up atleast one thing that they can be remembered for. For example this party may take the bull. by the horn in the power sector only, and solve this problem for us.

I am neither supporting the APC nor the PDP in this case, we should just take things with the "common sense" factor.
Ndi Igbo, I know the past of Buhari is still in our minds, but an adage says "He who does not leave beyond the past may lose the goodness of the future".

According to him, he said, and I quote:"I am a former military dictator, but now a democratic convert". Ironically, he sought our forgiveness.
Many of us say Buhari can never change, you as an individual cannot tell me that the way you behave 10years ago is still the way you behave now. Some things must have changed.
Buhari of 30years ago may not be the Buhari of today. Please let's give him a chance.

Some will say we need youths to rule us not an old man, remember people like James Ibori, Alameseigha etc were convicted for money laundry in their 40s.
Good leadership is not by age but integrity.

This is a call to Ndi Igbo, look beyond your personal hatred for Buhari and put Nigeria first.
I am an indegene of Enugu State, born in Igbo Etiti, I was a vibrant youth leader of President Jonathan campaign in 2011 but he has failed us. I am more exposed and wiser now that I cannot be blinded by religion and ethnicity in the choice of candidate. The same should apply to you.

Let's vote the APC and see what they have to offer, if they fail us after four years we shall get rid of them with the power of our vote.
Yours.
Chinedu Nebo.

Don't just read, please print and share it to our Igbo brothers.

They also accused him of threatening bloodshed, if he lose in 2015 election whereas he was misquoted by journalists of propaganda.

They alleged he was going to islamize Nigeria eventhoug he refused to do so as a miiitary head of state who had absolute power.

Now the journalists of propaganda has put another another words in his mouth, YOU WILL FAIL.

limamintruth:
Jesus is the word of God. And the word of God is God. (kalmatullah)
Mary was just a medium through whom God manifested His word in human form on earth. cool

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the
glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, THE MIGHTY GOD, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
(And many more Bible verses corroborate this truth) wink
If I must be sincere with you, I mean without deciving you, none of those verses answered my question.
Is there any verse in the Bible where Jesus ever say "I am God"?.
Bible says that God is not man

‘God is not a man’ (Numbers 23:19)

‘For I am God, and not man’ (Hosea 11:9)

Jesus is called a man many times in the Bible

‘a man who has told you the truth’ (John 8:40)

‘Jesus the Nazarene, a man attested to you by God with miracles and wonders and signs which God performed through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves know.’ (Acts 2:22)

‘He will judge the world in righteousness through a man whom He has appointed’ (Acts 17:31)

‘the man Christ Jesus’ (Tim. 2:5)

The Bible says that God is not a son of man

‘God is not a man nor a son of man’ (Numbers 23:19)

The Bible often calls Jesus ‘a son of man’ or ‘the son of man.’

‘so will the son of man be’ (Matthew 12:40)

‘For the son of man is going to come’ (Matthew 16:27)

‘until they see the son of man coming in His kingdom.’ (Matthew 28)

‘But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority’ (Mark 2:10)

‘because he is the son of man’ (John 5:27)

In the Hebrew scriptures, the ‘son of man’ is also used many times speaking of people (Job 25:6; Psalm 80:17; 144:3; Ezekiel 2:1; 2:3; 2:6-8; 3:1-3).

Since God would not contradict Himself by first saying He is not the son of a man, then becoming a human being who was called ‘the son of man’, he would not have done so.  Remember God is not the author of confusion. Also, human beings, including Jesus, are called ‘son of man’ specifically to distinguish them from God, who is not a ‘son of man’ according to the Bible.

GEJ once avoided a debate with GMB in 2011. So debating or not is NOT the considerable factor here; debate is just a matter of choice

Joyful77:
2 Chronicles 15: 12-13
"They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul; and everyone who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman"

Deutronomy 17: 12
"Anyone arrogant enough to reject the verdict of the judge or of the priest who represents the LORD your God must be put to death. Such evil must be purged from Israel"

Exodus 22:19
"Whoever sacrifices to any god, except the Lord alone, shall be doomed"

Deutronomy 13: 13-19
"Suppose you hear in one of the towns the LORD your God is giving you that some worthless rabble among you have led their fellow citizens astray by encouraging them to worship foreign gods. In such cases, you must examine the facts carefully. If you find it is true and can prove that such a detestable act has occurred among you, you must attack that town and completely destroy all its inhabitants, as well as all the livestock. Then you must pile all the plunder in the middle of the street and burn it. Put the entire town to the torch as a burnt offering to the LORD your God. That town must remain a ruin forever; it may never be rebuilt. Keep none of the plunder that has been set apart for destruction. Then the LORD will turn from his fierce anger and be merciful to you. He will have compassion on you and make you a great nation, just as he solemnly promised your ancestors. "The LORD your God will be merciful only if you obey him and keep all the commands I am giving you today, doing what is pleasing to him."

Deutronomy 13: 7-12
"If your own full brother, or your son or daughter, or your beloved wife, or you intimate friend, entices you secretly to serve other gods, whom you and your fathers have not known, gods of any other nations, near at hand or far away, from one end of the earth to the other: do not yield to him or listen to him, nor look with pity upon him, to spare or shield him, but kill him. Your hand shall be the first raised to slay him; the rest of the people shall join in with you. You shall stone him to death, because he sought to lead you astray from the Lord, your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that place of slavery. And all Israel, hearing of this, shall fear and never do such evil as this in your midst"

Deutronomy 17: 2-5
"Suppose a man or woman among you, in one of your towns that the LORD your God is giving you, has done evil in the sight of the LORD your God and has violated the covenant by serving other gods or by worshiping the sun, the moon, or any of the forces of heaven, which I have strictly forbidden. When you hear about it, investigate the matter thoroughly. If it is true that this detestable thing has been done in Israel, then that man or woman must be taken to the gates of the town and stoned to death"

Deutronomy 20:10-14
10When you march up to attack a city, make its people an offer of peace. 11If they accept and open their gates, all the people in it shall be subject to forced labor and shall work for you. 12If they refuse to make peace and they engage you in battle, lay siege to that city. 13When the Lord your God delivers it into your hand, put to the sword all the men in it. 14As for the women, the children, the livestock and everything else in the city, you may take these as plunder for yourselves. And you may use the plunder the Lord your God gives you from your enemies.

Hosea 13:16
The people of Samaria must bear their guilt, because they have rebelled against their God. They will fall by the sword; their little ones will be dashed to the ground, their pregnant women ripped open."

BIBLE ALSO SANCTIONS RAPE

Numbers 15-18
15“Have you allowed all the women to live?” he asked them. 16“They were the ones who followed Balaam’s advice and enticed the Israelites to be unfaithful to the Lord in the Peor incident, so that a plague struck the Lord’s people. 17Now kill all the boys. And kill every woman who has slept with a man, 18but save for yourselves every girl who has never slept with a man"

Isiah 13:16
"Their children will be smashed to death before their eyes; their houses will be looted, and their wives raped"

Zechariah 14:2
I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to fight against it; the city will be captured, the houses ransacked, and the women raped. Half of the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not be taken from the city.

In conclusion, you can't claim that we should ignore them because it's the Old Testament, Jesus sanctioned all those brutal laws in many bible verses, two of them are below...

"Do not think that I [Jesus] have come to abolish the Law (the Old Testament) or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law (the Old Testament) until everything is accomplished" (Matthew 5:17-18)

"Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword" (Matthew 10:34)
The hypocrites willnot see anything wrong in this, they only like to cry about Islam

Whynotthetruth:
I have answered all those but unfortunately, you are looking for what to use in insulting Jonathan... let me state it again...

Power situation... Jonathan is doing the right thing there and I expect it to keep getting better everyday...notwithstanding all the sabotage and pipeline vandalism...

Employment: great policies through auto-policy(all those companies employed people not ghosts bro)...agriculture (millions gained here)...12universities(tutorial and non tutorial staff employments with multiplier effects through housing construction, food sales and supply, security, market development, rural/host community development etc)...sure-p(staff of that agency, jobs in their different sites of constriction both direct & indirect jobs and wealth creation, thousands of health workers and road maintenance staff etc) and so many others...

Corruption is reducing...Transparency international confirmed it...I WILL BELIEVE TI DATA TRILLION TIMES TO APC PROPAGANDA DATA...

Economy is doing well...CNN & Blomberg confirmed us as investors destination with our economy growing by nothing less than 6.2%...and diversification of our economy is taken seriously now unlike in the past with many business & industrialisation friendly policies coming up...

Security is superp except in North east in which Jonathan & NA are doing so well...let the northerners support them too...report your parents who wrap their kids with bombs or your brother or sister who's among terrorists and terrorism will go...shikena...
Well going by "facts" you presented, (even to the extent of saying corruption is reducing) I can categorically tell you that all this paper achievement has not reflected on the life of 80% of Nigerians.

I agree with your wonderful analyses, even Jonathan said, and I quote:
“CNN has said our Economy is growing. The best Economists are at the World Bank. Now you have all these Nigerian Economists talking nonsense. Do they know better than CNN or World Bank?”

“Nigeria is not poor. Come and see the amount of private jets Nigerians parked at Kenya Airport when we went to Nairobi for Conference. Kenyans were just looking at us with envy. How can you say Nigerians are poor”

Even though the poverty level increases on a daily bases and the CNN tells us, it is not, we must accept.

Beautiful analyses.
