“The owner said that the stove servers better and the battery lasts compared to the amount of money we waste on kerosene/gas” #NoSmoke

I think this is a welcome development and a new invention, and the government should look into this and encourage him.

SportsMy Decision To Resign Has Nothing To Do With Oliseh- Emmanuel Emenike by MediaBlog(op): 1:06am On Oct 27, 2015
Footballer Emmanuel Emenike who announced his retirement from the Super Eagles on October 19th, maintained that his decision to resign has nothing to do with Super Eagles coach, Oliseh

"I have absolutely nothing against the coach (Oliseh). As for me, I still remain loyal to coach Sunday Oliseh and I want to believe he understands my decision. My decision has nothing to do with the coach, who is a brave man, a technically sound person, my decision has nothing to go against his vision for the Super Eagles. Me out of the team will equally ease pressure on the coach and it will enable the younger players to fight harder for the team"

Nigeria have produced lots of talented goal poacher like Julius Aghahowa, Victor Agali, Yakubu Aiyegbeni, Samuel Okwaraji, Obafemi Martins, Ike Uche, Rashidi Yekini just to mention a few. I believe with God on our side, the team will fly higher without Emenike, I will be glad to see them qualify for both the AFCON and World Cup in 2018. We have lots of good players in the team and more are still coming in to contribute, so I believe the team will get better and stronger as time goes on. The team will be great under Oliseh." "He told African Football

SportsFloyd Mayweather Says “it’s Over” After His Final Fight With Andre Berto by MediaBlog(op): 2:52am On Sep 14, 2015
After 19 years of boxing, Floyd Mayweather Says “It’s Over” After his Final Fight with Andre Berto on Saturday to claim his 49th and he says final victim in a sparkling unbeaten ring career spanning twenty years.

All three judges ruled almost completely to support Mayweather and a short later, the American welterweight world champion confirmed that he was retiring, saying; “My career is over” “It’s official”

He equals the perfect 49-0 record of heavyweight legend Rocky Marciano and retains his WBA and WBC titles, adding to his reputation for being the best boxer of his era.

Floyd Mayweather drop to his knees in the ring after the bell, taking in the moment.

“I want to thank all the fans… for 19 years I would not be able to do it without these fans,” he said, after the judges ruled it 118-110, 117-111 and 120-108, all to the champ.

“But you need to know when it’s time to hang it up. I’m knocking at the door; I’m almost 40 years of age now.

“There is nothing else to prove in the game of boxing. I’m leaving the sport with all my abilities; I’m still sharp and smart.”

The $32 million he earned seem to be a pocket change compared to what he got for Manny Pacquiao in his last fight. The 38-year-old so-called “TBE” (The Best Ever), who had regularly said that the Andre Berto fight would be the last time he steps into the ring, had too much cleverness and nous for the rank outsider.

Berto, who has now lost four of his last seven contests, was set up as the fall guy for the pound-for-pound king’s coronation — and he played the role perfectly, showing plenty of heart but not enough quality.

Mayweather has his critics, yet he was given a legend’s welcome at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas by a loud and aggressive crowd who had come hoping to see him give Andre Berto, 32, an old-fashioned beating.

He didn’t exactly do that, but instead used his amazing defensive skills to avoid the worst that Andre Berto — a former two-time world champion — could throw at him.

Berto kept chasing at Mayweather; who would land a quick-fire combination and then dart out of trouble again — to roars of approval for the man fans have taken to simply call him “Money.”

Even when he had Mayweather against the ropes Berto found it difficult to connect with anything meaningful.

The first real taste of a fight breaking out came at the end of the 2nd round, when the two tangled after the bell, Floyd Mayweather giving his opponent a filthy look.

The champion — hit by allegation on the eve of the fight that he broke anti-doping rules earlier this year, which he denies — came out for round three clearly still disturbed.

Mayweather was sent running across the canvas after one exchange, bringing the crowd of 13,395 to its feet, but the move was more like wrestling than boxing.

Berto had his first real taste of success halfway through the fourth of the scheduled 12, forcing Mayweather to shrink away in fear against the ropes as Berto pursed one of the biggest upsets in boxing history.

Berto chose to play wildly and roughly tactics in the fifth, catching Mayweather with one especially low shot that drew oohs from the stands.

The crowd was up on their feet again in the 6th as Mayweather turned the screw, tricking the underdog with three shots to the body in quick progression.

Still Berto – dismissed as a failure by some critics who needed to see Mayweather take on a bigger name.

But he was mostly finding air, and Mayweather punished him in the end seconds of the seventh, and Berto briefly looked in big trouble.

Mayweather was frighteningly gaining control and he knew it — striking a pose at the end of the eighth, and some in the crowd praise him with cries of “TBE! TBE! TBE!”

Referee Kenny Bayless had to stop the action in the 10th and address the pair to stop mouthing off at each other, and there was another flashpoint when the bell sounded.

Mayweatherse secured his night’s work — and that of his career, if he is to be believed — by turning showman in the 11th, ducking brilliantly to stay away from several Berto haymakers and then looking behind himself as if to say mockingly to his opponent; where am I?

Asked what he and Berto were mumbling to each other in the ring, Mayweather said: “Just trash talking.”

If Mayweather retires, it will end a career that saw him turn into a pay-per-view star and earn more money than any boxer before him. Despite the fact that most in boxing believe he will some day fight again, the 38-year-old said he had lot of money and his health is more important than pursuing records.

“I’ve accomplished everything in my sport” Mayweather added

PoliticsPresident Buhari Explains Why Corruption Is The Cause Of Poverty In Nigeria by MediaBlog(op): 2:27am On Sep 14, 2015
President Muhammadu Buhari has identified and saying in a statement that corruption is the main cause of poverty in Nigeria – President Buhari – who also explained why corruption is the main reason for the number of poverty rate in the Nigeria saying that two-thirds of Nigerians are exremely poor.

Vice President , Prof Yemi Osinbajo, President Catholic Bishop of Nigeria, Archbishop Ignatius Kaigama and Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State during the Catholic Bishop Conference took place in Port Harcourt on Sunday.

President Buhari spoke in Port Harcourt, Sunday, at the Second Plenary of the Conference of Catholic Bishops of Nigeria.

To recall that President Buahari had earlier in February attended the First Plenary as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

In his good-will message delivered on his behalf by the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, the President declared that corruption had eaten deep into the fabrics of the nation.

However, promised to uproot the hazard saying that was the only way Nigeria could be saved.

He stated: “Corruption in our country is common to the point that it constitutes a parallel system. It is the primary reason for poor policy decisions, waste and obviously, bare- faced theft of public assets.

“Our fight against corruption is not just a moral fight for virtue and righteousness in our land, it is a fight for the soul and substance of our country.

“It is the main reason why a possibly rich country struggles to feed itself and create jobs for millions.”

The President also hinged infant mortality deaths on the greed of some leaders.

He said: “The huge number of deaths in the infant and maternal death statistics, the hundreds of thousands of annual deaths from preventable sicknesses are traceable to the greed and corruption of a few. This is the reason we must see it as an human existence threat. If we don’t kill it, it will kill us.”

On the Country’s security, the President said: “We are on course to militarily defeat Boko Haram, and make them unequipped of taking and holding territory.“ He added that suicide bombings in some parts of the North East are the fearful acts of the terrorists to create a feeling that they are still in play.

“With vigilant watchfulness and great neighborhood intelligence, we will make those fearful acts practically impossible,” he promised.

The president also emphasized on the need to create the empowering environment where there would be equal open door – opportunity for everyone to develop their potentials and add to their possibilities, focusing on the importance of a social welfare scheme to provide for the helpless and less privileged.

“We must change the way of thinking about our economy and the ultimate good of the majority. While we create an empowering environment for free businesses, we must reason, plan and budget with the understanding that almost two-thirds of our people are very poor, and must be helped first to survive and then to fully participate in the country’s economy.

“We must create a safety net for the poor and helpless while ensuring that social spending is also a direct investment in the nation’s economy. We must invest significantly in relevant education, teacher training, and professional and entrepreneurial training,” he added.

Expressing “warm happy messages on behalf of the government and people of our great nation Nigeria”, to the conference, President Buhari also said that he has always been “impressed with the social awareness showed by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference.”

He told the conference that it has also played a vital role in the stability of the country.

“Your quick critical interventions at various crucial moments in our national trip have helped to caution, warn and eventually stabilize the society. This is as it should be. This nation belongs to us all. Leaders in every sector owe it as a obligation to this generation to contribute in building a great society.

“For us elected into government, we have since set the difficult tasks before us, with energy and commitment in the full assurance that by the grace of God, our country will get to be safe, secure, prosperous and virtuous,” the president said.

In the Conference’s President speech, Most Revd Igantius Kaigama, the Archbishop of Jos, thanked the Buhari administration’s commitment to the fight against corruption and in the construction of a Presidential Advisory Committee on Anti-Corruption.

According to him, “the president is right that if we don’t kill corruption, corruption will kill us.” He also prayed that God will give the citizens of Nigeria a new heart.

Earlier, Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike praised the Catholic Church for its apolitical (not political) posture in the state, calling on other churches to emulate it.

Romance7 Simple Ways To Keep Yourself Busy After A Relationship Breakup by MediaBlog(op): 12:15pm On Aug 18, 2015
Breaking up in a relationship can be really hurting and mind-dividing. If you’re currently single after a very hard breakup, you realize that it can be difficult to consider anything else. You may gaze at your phone sitting tight for a text, experience difficulty resting as you try to understand what turned out badly or change your habitual and everyday activity to keep distance to avoid an awkward meeting with your ex. If you’re in such situation, these 7 simple ways to keep yourself busy after a relationship breakup will help to keep your mind or thought focused on your new single life – not your previous relationship.

Adapting without a lover seems apparently difficult and exhausting. However, there are numerous ways you can involve yourself without been connected to anybody. Here is the 7 simple ways:

1. Work Out – Working out is an awesome approach to stay fit year-round. It’s proven to make people feel more satisfied and happier. Instead of lying around examining the last conversation you had with your ex, go for a run or have a skip. When you’re going through a hard time like a breakup, it can be difficult to motivate yourself to get moving. To solve this, ask a friend to be your workout buddy.

2. Spend More Time with Your Friends – Although everyone need some time alone, but at this point, surrounding yourself with individuals who make you feel good and cooperative will help divert you from your breakup. Going out with your friends is dependably fun. Put a positive twist on this breakup by utilizing it to make incredible new memories with your friends that you may not have been able create before – due to the time spent on your relationship.

3. Treat Yourself to Makeover – The end of a romantic relationship means the start of new chapter in your life. Take advantage of this time by making a change that you’ve always wanted to make. Shopping will keep your brain diverted from your past relationship, so is solid to proceed on without blocks from the past relationship. You can also start by redecorating your room, dyeing your hair or trying a new hairstyle and adding some new pieces to your clothing, a positive change can help you feel good about starting anew and moving forward.

4. Quit The Feeling That Your Life is boring Without a Relationship – Such thinking keeps you discouraged and unhappy. Trust me; you can begin to feel awesome about yourself if you change a bit of your point of view.

5. Hit a Discussion with a Complete Stranger – Ever wonder how strangers can turn into real friends? Then meeting and learning about stranger’s life can go far in helping you understand you are not in a difficult circumstance.

6. Take Up a New Hobby – Taking up another leisure activity by picking anything that interests you is great way to keep your mind in peace and to concentrate on the present. However learning a new skill will give you a feeling of satisfaction.

7. Reading – Sometimes spending time alone can make you feel lonely and your moments with your ex keep flashing back. However spending a few additional hours for each week doing some reading will get you ahead in numerous ways and keep your mind focused instead of the breakup.

I hope you will be able to mend your broken heart today and start up an entire awesome new life.

OP, thanks for the article. It's yet another demonstration that some us are beginning to take our personal development very seriously. I agree with ALL your points.

I woke up 04:45 am, and exercised for about 45 minutes. Exercise makes you smarter and gives you the opportunity to even think as you're doing your aerobics. It's never a waste of time.

I've drastically reduced watching the TV. I just had to! And whenever I do watch, it must be those channels that will force me to think. I have enough books downloaded that for the past 6 months, I can count how many times I've watched the TV for more than 15 minutes at a time.

Reading challenging books is also very nice.

All in all, we must make very conscious efforts to increase our knowledge. Our knowledge, all we ever know, determines our attitudes, which in turn determines our perception of life.
You are welcome! Hope it works for you.

That's the sad and ugly trend here. Actually, most of us don't pay adequate attention to our development and progress. We are more interested in knowing what's happening in the lives of Tonto, Kanye West, Psquare and Timaya....Following those folks isn't a bad thing but it becomes worrisome when we pay more attention to their lives than we do to ours.

I was so shocked to have just seen this thread a few hours back though it was created months- many months ago.

We need to take our lives more seriously, and to do so, we just continue to add value to ourselves, just like those celebs we cherish are adding values to theirs.
thanks for the tips
