"i tot i met just a POULTRY DRESSER, later I realize i met not just a Computer Science graduate but a FIRST CLASS"

On our way coming back from a wedding with a friend Suleiman Dauda we decided to branch and pick some local chickens for the December break, after buying the chick we proceeded to the meet a skilled poultry dresser for slaughter and dressing.

He then resolved to come and write WAEC at the Government Secondary School Kukuri but his Father (whom I also met today) insisted that he will work hard to raise the said amount before the WAEC, Ali came home before WAEC, work along with his father until they meet the 36000 requirements. He wrote his WAEC and got one of the best results.

After WAEC he applied, sat and pass Remedial science. He said:

"I don't know anything about computer, because we don't have it in our house but I still applied for the course, in my part 1, it’s all science courses so I have no much challenge to pass them. During our part 1 break, I worked so hard and saved 30,000 Naira, upon resumption a friend of mine who is studying Biology and has a used Tokunbo LAPTOP computer from LAGOS decided to sale the computer to me @ 30,000 Naira”.

Ali use the computer to study through the 4 years and graduated with FIRST CLASS.

I now ask Ali for a consent to snap with him, he said Yes, why Not...

“This is the business that paid my school fees,” he introduced me to his father.

I asked him further what he does beside this work,
He said while I wait for my NYSC, in the night I browse a lot and read a lot on IT.
We exchange contacts, we advised him further and promise to provide him some MENTOR SHIP.

The story of Ali, Is that of inspiration and perseverance
This is the Story of a child Born with no Silver Spoon but proceeded to get the Gold Spoon
ALI HAS MADE IT TO FIRST CLASS, ALL HE NEEDS NOW IS MENTORSHIP, NETWORK OF THINKERS AND A LITTLE PUSH UP
………. And take note: There is more talent hidden beneath what the eyes sees.

Crime / Man Testifies Of How Jesus Rescued Him From Kidnappers In Port Harcourt by MediahelmNGR: 3:30pm On Dec 23, 2018
A Nigerian man, Kingsley Nzom, has taken to his Facebook wall to testify of how God rescued him from kidnappers in Port Harcourt, Rivers state. Read his testimony below

Jesus saved me from Kidnappers.

On Saturday, 15th Dec 2018, I left Lagos to Portharcourt. I traveled with Okeyson transport company. The driver was as fast as a lazy pregnant snail.

We were ambushed at Elele in Rivers state. About 10-15 young men, with auto rifles, shotguns, matchets, etc. They let the driver go, took the rest of us into the bush blindfolded. Every night they move us to a different "barrack". We're always been moved; blindfolded, hands tied, legs tied too.
The first night wasn't really a hassle for me as they shared my properties; wears, phones, cash, collected our ATM pins for the money in the accounts.
We were always blindfolded except at nights.

The next day, they advised us to quickly raise money and pay them if not, they were going to sell off our private parts and skulls to ritualists. They contacted this Alhaji (I don't know if it was to scare us, but I heard the man, he had the Fulani accent) but he said he can't come there on a Sunday.

We were made to contact our families on Monday so they can pay our ransoms; N1million. According to them, the Alhaji will come that Monday night, so they gave us till 4pm that Monday to pay, or be sold off in pieces to Alhaji.
I contactes my younger brother, asked him to call Dickson and sha give him the update, he laughed on hearing the amount, his hysterical laugh irked them so deeply they took off the steam by landing more blows on me. Where man pikin keep 2milly?

I percieved the smell of dope, I begged to take a hit, whoever it was obliged, from there we started talking, we'd gist briefly, hit blunt together, he'll even give me water. At other times, I dey collect beating.
That Monday night, they were already having issues among themselves. They complained that their Oga didn't bring the Alhaji, neither is he in the bush with them, that they left them in the bush while the rest have gone to town to flex. I silently prayed.
Tuesday morning, 18th December 2018, the band on my wrist was loose, I called on one of them to come tighten it because if they notice by themselves, na beating go follow as they assume that you trying to escape, but he said he'll be back. That meant he's going somewhere. After a while, we couldn't hear their chatter, it happened that the ones manning us took a stroll.

How three people watching us decided to leave us without anyone watching was something only God could do. At first, I thought it was a trap.
It wasn't difficult untying myself as mine was loose already. I untied the rest of us, Na so we cut out oo. We spent about 25-30mins in the bush trying to find our way out, following the direction from where the sound of speeding vehicles came, till we got to the express road

Crime / One Dies As Man Sets Family Of Four Ablaze In Lagos by MediahelmNGR: 8:36am On Dec 20, 2018
Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested one Shola Adewunmi for allegedly setting ablaze the shanty that housed a petty trader, Bose Enitan, and her three children, Esther (17), Ayo (9) and Nifemi (5), in the Power Line area of Alagbado.

Enitan’s neighbour, who identified himself only as Anthony, said the fire, which started late on Tuesday, killed one of Enitan’s children.

He said, “The fire started in the night when Enitan and her children were asleep. It was easy for us to break into the house and when we entered, the entire room was engulfed in smoke. We managed to rescue the woman and two of her children from the fire. But Nifemi died, while Ayo, Esther and their mother sustained burns.”

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, who led a team of journalists to the scene of the fire incident on Wednesday, said Adewunmi and Enitan had an altercation, which allegedly made the former to decide to burn down the shanty housing the latter and her children with the intent to kill the occupants.

Imohimi said, “I consider this case a callous one about man’s inhumanity to man. Fortunately, the suspect has been arrested. This is the dwelling place of the woman and three of her children; they were sleeping and suddenly, there was a fire outbreak. They sustained major degree burns and were rushed to the Gbagada General Hospital.

“Fortunately, the DPO and his team were able to recover a phone and that phone was traced to one Shola Adewunmi, who previously had a serious altercation with the woman. From the evidence we have so far, he purposely set fire on the shanty with the intent of burning the woman and her three children alive. He has been arrested and I have ordered that he should be taken to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, where he will be properly interrogated.”

Crime / One Dead As Youths Set Palace Ablaze Over Kingship Tussle by MediahelmNGR: 7:58pm On Dec 19, 2018
One person was feared killed as irate youths of Edunabon in Ife North Local Government Area of Osun State on Wednesday set ablaze the town’s palace over kingship tussle.

The youths were protesting the selection process of a prince to become Salu Edunabon after the passing away of the immediate past traditional ruler, Oba Elijah Agunbiade on August 4, 2017.

The youths allegedly rejected Prince Nasiru Adebayo as their new king, faulting the selection process that worked in his favour.

The angry youths went on rampage when it dawned on them Prince Adebayo was set to occupy the palace after his seclusion rites.

The identity of the man, who was reportedly killed, could not be ascertained.

Also, Prince Adebayo is said to be hospitalised following the beating he received from the angry youths.

For two weeks there had been tension in the town as Prince Kehinde Oladepo and Prince Nasiru Adebayo, from the same ruling house, were laying claim to the vacant stool of Salu of Edunabon.

The two princes were said to have undergone seclusion rites reportedly on separate recommendations of Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi and Osun State government.

While the community and the kingmakers were said to have fovoured Oladepo after series of spiritual consultations, the Ooni of Ife allegedly preferred the candidacy of Adebayo.

A community leader, Chief Morakinyo Oyebayo, told reporters the Ooni faulted the selection process of the kingmakers in a letter dated November 22 on the ground they failed to carry him along in the choice of Prince Kehinde Oladepo in accordance with Customary Law.

He said before Ooni’s preference, Prince Kehinde Oladepo had spent up to a week in seclusion and the kingmakers had announced him the new Salu of Eduabon.

This was before Prince Nasiru Adebayo was given consenting authority to proceed on his own seclusion last Friday by the Ooni.

Oyebayo further explained Oladepo’s emergence was announced after rigorous meetings that involved the warrant chiefs and executives of the Ife North West Local Council Development Area.

One of the warrant chiefs, Seye Oyelade from Ile Akunran in Edunabon, said the process that led to the emergence of Oba-elect was transparent and fair.

He thereby urged the people of the community to join hands with the new monarch.

Chairman of Ife North West LCDA, Edunabon, Hon. Ademola Olabisi Olabamigbe, said the process witnessed a lot of challenges but ended peacefully.

It was further learnt that Oladepo, who hails from Amoloye Compound in Isiboni ruling house, emerged as the 2nd beaded-crown Salu of Edunabon after the two warrant chiefs assigned by the state government unanimously voted for him.

He was said to have defeated six other contestants including Prince Oluwafemi Akinropo, Olawale Adeboye Isaac, Odunlade Samson, Adeyeye Samuel Oluwaseye, Adebayo Nasiru and Onifade Rapheal.

When Prince Adebayo allegedly felt unsatisfied, he was said to have mobilised his supporters to force himself into the palace.

But the youths resisted the move and allegedly chased him away.

They later set the palace ablaze.

The state police command through its spokesperson, Folasade Odoro, said normalcy had returned to the community after the police intervention.

Politics / Aregbesola Reveals South-south States APC Will Win, Warns Party About Wike by MediahelmNGR: 9:32pm On Dec 15, 2018
Former governor of Osun State and chairman of the National Reconciliation Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the South-South geo-political zone, Rauf Aregbesola, has said that the situation of the party in Rivers State, will make it difficult to defeat the incumbent governor, Nyesom Wike of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

It would be recalled that the Court of Appeal recently declared that the APC does not have candidates for all elective positions for the 2019 general elections in Rivers State.

Speaking in Asaba where he led members of his committee to meet with stakeholders in the protracted factional crisis rocking the Delta State chapter of the party, Aregbesola expressed optimism that every other state in the South-South would be won by the APC in next year’s general elections.

“We have no problems in my (Osun) state. With what I am seeing here today, I believe that the APC will form the next government of Delta State come May 29, 2019. I believe it will happen in Akwa-Ibom State; I believe it will happen in Cross River State and subsequently in Bayelsa State. I would have said Rivers State but I don’t want to be too optimistic.

“My joy is that we are all here today, and I see on the faces joy and air of expectation which is the first sign of victory in any political contest. Let this belief in success permeate our entire being. Delta State is for our party to take but we must accommodate each other and be ready to work together.

“Any tension within a political canopy is a threat to victory. The junction which the party has reached in Delta State is very promising but the promise at this stage is threatened by the seeming differences within the party. I want to appeal to us to give peace a chance.

“Success in next year’s general elections is directly proportional to how well you can stomach those things you want to put forward. If you are mature enough to tolerate one another, accommodate each other and be ready to work together then you have a bigger picture that will benefit all of us.

“But if you insist on having your way on all issues, the acrimony it will bring up will be such that we on our own might scuttle and frustrate our chances of victory. You may not know, some of you have benefited from some government here but there cannot be any gain in a political process without victory. Victory is the crowning glory of all political processes, not defeat, not failure.

“Even if you are not directly benefiting, the fact that your party is in power gives so much air of satisfaction that the way you walk in your neighborhood will be different. I pray that all of us benefit from the government that APC will form in Delta from May 29, 2019,” Aregbesola said.

Politics / Jubril Of Sudan: Nnamdi Kanu Suspends Live Broadcast, Reveals Next Action by MediahelmNGR: 7:39pm On Dec 15, 2018
The suspension of the broadcast was made known in a terse statement by his deputy, Alphonsus Okafor-Mefor, via his Facebook page.

Recall that Kanu since his reappearance in Israel penultimate month has been consistent in making weekly exposé on the alleged impersonation of ‘dead’ President Muhammadu Buhari by a Sudanese stage play actor, Jubril Aminu Al-Sudani.

However, Okafor-Mefor informed that instead of a fresh broadcast this weekend, a repeat edition would be played back after which the IPOB leader would host an interactive session on Radio Biafra.

“There won’t be a live broadcast from our leader (Nnamdi Kanu) on Saturday. In place of it, we shall do a repeat and interactive session will follow,” Okafor-Mefor said.

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu had last Wednesday alleged that the so-called Jubril Al-Sudani had confirmed his claim that he was an impostor.

Kanu made the claim in reference to a picture of the President responding to cheers from his supporters by raising his fist.

The IPOB leader had earlier said during a previous broadcast that “the president” would no longer wave his supporters because he had different palm print from the “real Muhammadu Buhari”

Politics / Sowore To Sue Channels TV Boss For Excluding Him From Debate by MediahelmNGR: 11:16pm On Dec 13, 2018

The African Action Congress has written a letter to the Chairman of Channels Television, Mr. John Momoh, threatening to sue him, the Broadcast Organisation of Nigeria and the Nigeria Elections Debate Group if its Presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, is not listed among those that will participate in the Presidential debate

The NEDG, organisers of the presidential debate in collaboration with the BON, had revealed that it selected five candidates on “character, conduct and other things of the candidates”.

Those invited include: President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress, former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party; and a former Minister of Education, Mrs.Oby Ezekwesili of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria.

The two others invited include: the Presidential candidate of the Alliance for New Nigeria, Fela Durotoye; and Young Progressives Party candidate, Kingsley Moghalu.

However, in a letter signed by the National Legal Adviser of the AAC, Mr. Inibehe Effiong, the party described the exclusion of Sowore as a breach of Section 100 of the Electoral Act which states that all political parties be given fair representation and media exposure.

The party said if Sowore was not included, the AAC would go to court to stop the event from holding.

The letter read in part, “From the foregoing, it is apparent that the decision to exclude the AAC from the NEDG/BON 2019 Presidential election debate is unconstitutional, illegal, arbitrary, undemocratic, unjustifiable and indefensible.

“Accordingly, I hereby demand the inclusion of the AAC in the scheduled NEDG/BON 2019 Presidential election debate.

“Please take notice that if the AAC is not included in the said debate as demanded, we shall commence legal action against you, the BON and the NEDG in a court of competent jurisdiction to seek redress, including an order of injunction restraining you, BON and the NEDG from holding or organising the scheduled debate.”

Enoch Noah, a friend and brother died on his way to his PPA, in obedience to the clarion call in Kano State

My heart bleeds, knowing how tenacious you have worked thus far to attain your current height which is now cut-short by the cold hands of death...

May the heavenly places be a place of eternal rest for you.

Farewell...

President Muhammadu Buhari, on Tuesday, expressed his gratitude to Switzerland for returning funds stolen by corrupt government officials to Nigeria.

He said Nigeria was “deeply grateful to Switzerland for its support in resuscitating the economy, especially the return of illegally stolen funds” and in helping to intervene in the Boko Haram insurgency in the North-East.

While receiving letter of credence from the Ambassador of Switzerland to Nigeria, Mr George Steiner, at the Presidential Villa.

“We are grateful to the Swiss government for allowing the illegally stolen funds to be brought back to Nigeria,” a statement by Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr Garba Shehu, quoted the President as saying.

In his response, the ambassador told Buhari that Switzerland would continue to support Nigeria, especially to end the conflict and the plight of Internally Displaced Persons in the North-East.

Steiner added, “We have strong and solid relations with Nigeria.

“It is an honour and privilege for us to contribute to issues of importance in the country.”

Recall that after a long period of engagement and negotiations between the two countries, Switzerland returned $322.5m (or N116.1bn) Abacha loot to Nigeria in December, 2017.

The money came with an interest of $1.5m.

Also speaking on the returned funds, Assistant Director-General and Head, Global Cooperation Department, Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, Ambassador Pio Wennubst, said the money was indeed returned.

“We returned $321, including the interest. We returned all the amount, $322.5m including the interest for the time that the funds were blocked”, the official added.

The command has also killed a suspected kidnapper, simply identified as Sunday, during a gun battle with the anti-kidnapping operatives in the Ikorodu area of the state.

Imohimi, while addressing journalists on Tuesday, said the operatives had stormed a hideout based on credible intelligence that the kidnappers, who had sneaked into the state, were planning to abduct some notable persons in the Iba area of Ojo Local Government Area.

He said one of the kidnappers was killed during an exchange of gunfire with the police, adding that two others were arrested and would be charged to court soon.

Imohimi stated, “Acting on credible intelligence received on Sunday, December 9, 2018, that a gang of kidnappers had sneaked into the state and were planning to abduct some notable persons in the Iba area of Ojo Local Government Area of Lagos State, I directed the Commander, Anti-kidnapping Squad, to proactively ensure that they did not effectuate their plan.

“Consequently, the squad swung into action immediately, tapping into the intelligence resources of the command, and was able to locate them in their hideout at Imota, Ikorodu on Monday, December 10, 2018. However, when the hoodlums sighted the approaching operatives, they opened fire on them for which the police replied.
