The Code of Conduct Tribunal has dismissed the case of false asset declaration against Nigeria’s Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

Mr. Saraki made a no-case submission on May 4, after the prosecution closed its case.

In the ruling, the tribunal chairman, Danladi Umar, said the prosecution had failed to prove its allegations.

Nigerian singer, Wizkid continues to break new grounds as he has been billed to perform at the BET Live Experience Main Stage, for the BET Award weekend that will take place on the 22nd-25th f June.

The Starboi made the announcement via a video posted on BET’s twitter handle.

Wizkid won three awards at the recently concluded Billboard music awards.

Bola Tinubu’s Television Continental (TVC) has allegedly sacked 145 staff members.

The special assistant to the Governor of Ekiti state on public communications and new media, Lere Olayinka, disclosed this via his twitter handle, @OlayinkaLere.

Television Continental, located at Ikosi, Ketu, Lagos, is owned along with its sister company, Radio Continental by a former governor of Lagos state and national leader of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu.

The news was also reported on Facebook by a journalist with The Nation Newspaper, Joke Kujenya, who further disclosed that security is tight around the area at the moment and that affected staff members have received their sack letters.

She wrote: “Tension rises as TVC is on massive retrenchment of staff today, Friday, June 2nd 2017.

“Security is tightened around the vicinity as Police and fierce-looking professional bouncers take strategic positions.

“A media staff confirmed some members of staff have already received their own letters saying the mood is really gloomy.

Let’s empathize and be with them in prayers.”

The British High Commission has announced that email enquiries by visa customers applying from outside the UK would attract a fee from June 1.

The high commission made this known in a brief report on changes to UK Visas & Immigration customer care operations made available by the Media Officer, Joseph Abuku, in Abuja on Monday.

According to the report, the changes will help the government reduce costs and ensure those who benefit directly from the UK immigration system make an appropriate contribution.

“Effective today (June 1), email enquiries by visa customers from overseas will attract a fee. How you contact UK Visas and Immigration is changing. From 1 June, all customer enquiries will be handled by a new commercial partner Sitel UK. The new contract will see a number of changes for customers.”

The high commission stated that changes were made in all phone numbers and opening hours.

Other changes made were a reduction in the number of languages offered to 8 including English, and a fee of £5.48 for customers who contacted the UK Visas and Immigration by email.

“You will need to pay using a credit or debit card for contacting us by email. The charge includes the first email enquiry you send and any follow-up emails to and from the contact centre relating to the same enquiry. The way you pay to use the telephone service will remain the same using a credit or debit card. If you do not have access to a credit or debit card, you may choose to use a trusted 3rd party such as an agent or sponsor.”

The UK mission, however, stated that there were no changes to services for customers contacting from inside the UK.

Phyno has finally reacted the Pia Mia song theft controversy as he took to his twitter handle to say In his words… “U will hear from me and my team at the right time…”

It is safe to say that the cryptic message was directed at Pia Mia, Jeremih or producer Remo who supposedly worked on the beat with him for the allegedly stolen song.

Verge24.com understands that the said song was meant to be a collaboration between Phyno and US based producer Remo who in turn gave it to Pia Mia even after the Nigerian rapper had released the controversial song.

Nigerians took to the American singer’s social media accounts to rain fire and brimstone on her. Pia Mia is yet to respond to the allegations.

FC Barcelona has released a statement on Monday to announce that the former Athletic Club boss will take over from at Camp Nou this summer.

The Catalan Club confirmed that Ernesto Valverde will be their new coach for the 2017-18 season.

The 53-year-old stepped down after four seasons in a second spell at Athletic Club last week and was widely expected to take over from Luis Enrique this summer.

Barca had promised an announcement after the Copa del Rey final and a statement on Monday confirmed Valverde as the new coach on a two-year deal.

“I have spoken personally with Ernesto Valverde and I told him of our decision,” said club president Josep Maria Bartomeu.

“He said he is very excited and very happy, that it’s a great challenge to come in as head coach of Barca.

In other news, Barca has also unveiled its 2017/18 Home kit earlier today.

Barcelona have revealed their new home kit for the 2017-18 season, with a different look to the traditional red stripes and a new sponsor.

The home kit will be on sale from June 1st and retailing at €69.99

The iconic red and blue look is maintained by the Copa del Rey winners, however there is just one red stripe of traditional thickness vertically down the middle.

This then splits off into thinner stripes across the chest, with one more bar under the arms and none on the sleeves, which are left plain blue.

The shirt is designed by Nike, who call it an ‘updated interpretation of the traditional Blaugrana stripes’.

A statement on their website says: ‘On the shirt, the vertical red bands are cast against a deep royal blue to form the updated stripe composition.

‘Detailing inspired by the club’s history and culture can be seen on the collar, which is partially defined by the Catalan flag, the Senyera.

‘On the inside of the shirt the word “Forca” on the inner right sleeve and “Barca” on the left remind of inner club pride.’

Manchester United’s midfielder and the world’s most expensive footballer Paul Pogba is on pilgrimage to the holiest city of Islam, Mecca days after helping Manchester United to victory in the Europa League final in Stockholm.

On Instagram, the Frenchman shared a photo of himself wearing the white cloth of Muslims performing umrah and standing in front of the Kaaba, a black cube towards which Muslims turn for their five daily prayers and captioned it “Most beautiful thing I’ve seen in my life.”

He also sent a tweet wishing all Muslims a Happy Ramadan.

Pogba is reported to have visited Mecca at least once before when he performed the Hajj, a journey every healthy adult Muslim who can afford it is supposed to make at least once in their lives.

The Nigerian cyber space is up in arms about a perceived theft of Phyno’s song by an American singer named Pia Mia.

The record in quote is a song named ‘I’m a fan’ which was released by Phyno in 2016 as part of his “The Playmaker” album. Phyno’s version featured Mr Eazi, and another relative newcomer, Decarlo.

The song which is an urban Carrribean fusion, has not been made a single by the Nigerian rapper, but it is one of the critically loved records on the project.

The song was produced by Benjamz.

However, On May 26, 2017, American singer and songwriter, Pia Mia, released a version of the song which featured singer Jeremih. The similarities between hers and Phyno were present from the start. Pia Mia employs the same song title (I’m a fan’), extremely similar production, chorus, and verse.

On basic inspection, they are the same song, but Pia Mia’s version was produced by Remo the Hitmaker.

Pia Mia has been dragged across Nigerian social media as a thief, with fans and music enthusiasts accusing her of blatant theft.

The Pia Mia and Phyno’s controversy is way twisted than it seems.

The story of ‘I’m a fan’ single began from Phyno, Jeremih and producer Remo.

According to verified sources close to Phyno’s camp, the rapper was working on incorporating Island-ready production on his sophomore album to tap into the international market. He was in talks with Remo, who sent him the song to work with.

“The guy sent the song to us, and we wanted to work together, but something happened and we couldn’t use it,” our source tells Pulse.

Due to issues regarding remuneration, clearances and demands, Phyno and Remo did not work together. But Phyno liked the idea of the sound, so he sought the help of producer Benjamz, who reconstructed the single, and brought on Mr Eazi and Decarlo to collaborate and release the record.

Remo, who had totally abandoned the Phyno project, still has his music, and so when Pia Mia tapped him and Jeremih for a new record, they had this one ready-made for her to record and release.

According to our source, no official communication has been passed between Phyno and his team, hence at the moment, there is no official response.

Pia Mia has not responded too. The singer has chosen to focus on promoting her new single, which is receiving initial positive reviews.

On the other hand, if the guy that dented the deceased's vehicle was reasonable for a minute. Step down and try to calm the deceased down, they would have shaked hands and departed in peace. Instead, the result is what anger can do.

The devil can ruin one's entire life with a few minutes of anger.

The newly married man is dead now...his dented car might be sold and or fixed...and will possibly be around for the next hundred years...his young wife will possibly remarry.

Trust me.., the other man's eye will clear by the time he spends just a night in cell. Even without been beaten or tortured, he will all of a sudden come to his senses. Then he will wish he knew better.

Manchester City have completed the signing of midfielder Bernardo Silva from Monaco.

vERGE24.com understands the 22-year-old has joined City for £43m and has signed a five-year deal at the Etihad.
