The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has released Nnewi, Anambra-State born Industrialist, Chief Innocent Chukwuma on bail. A statement by the agency says the business man who runs a local auto assembly plant was arrested on Tuesday December 19, 2017 at his Enugu residence, following his refusal to respond to invitations by the Commission, after initially being granted administrative bail by the Commission, while his surety could also not be found. The statement in part reads

''Unfortunately the industrialist resisted arrest and stirred controversy by bringing six truck-loads of thugs to block the entrance to his Plot W1, Industrial Layout, Abakaliki Road, Emeni, Enugu, home. This was after he initially misled the Police Command by informing them that his home had been invaded by armed robbers and kidnappers despite the fact that operatives of the Commission duly identified themselves to policemen guarding his home.
His unruly thugs encircled and manhandled operatives of the Commission who had gone to effect the arrest. Consequently, a distress call was sent to the Commission’s Enugu Office for reinforcement.
In all of this, the Commission’s operatives acted with decorum and civility. No one was manhandled or assaulted by the EFCC team, and not a single shot was fired, despite the provocation.
Chief Chukwuma and his brother, Charles Chukwuma (who is still at large), are being investigated by the Insurance and Capital Market Fraud Section of the Commission’s office in Lagos over matters bordering on N1, 478, 366, 859.66 fraud and forgery. The industrialist, among other infractions, allegedly used forged documents to secure tax waivers.''.

Pope of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis has proposed to change the Lord’s Prayer that’s bedeviled him for years.
While speaking to an Italian TV network Friday, the pontiff said that he opposes the phrase “lead us not into temptation” in the current translation of Our Father.

In his words;

“That is not a good translation,” Francis said in Italian.

“It is not He that pushes me into temptation and then sees how I fall,”

“A father does not do this. A father quickly helps those who are provoked into Satan’s temptation.”

The Lord’s Prayer is a popular sacred prayer known in Christianity and is memorised by hundreds of millions of Catholics and Pentecostals alike.

The interpretation of the ancient text has been debated for centuries and some theologians has argued that the original phrasing was lost in translation as it morphed from different languages.

According to study, Our Father is a translation from the Latin Vulgate, a 4th-Century Latin translation of the Bible, which itself was translated from ancient Greek, Hebrew and Aramaic.

The digital currency Bitcoin has continued to soar in price as a result of increased attention and investors as it's value rises above $14,000.

Bitcoin started off the year below $1,000, then surpassing it and only last week reached $10,000. Despite the warnings from renowned economists and business leaders, its has continued to appreciate in value.

A total number of 401 illegal Nigerian migrants has successfully returned back to Nigeria from Libya last night and this morning respectively.

The migrants landed at the Murtala Mohammed Airport Lagos, and were received by the Senior Special Assistant on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Mrs Abike Dabiri, and some officials of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).

First badge of the returnees were 144 in number and they arrived at 7:00 pm while 257 of the migrants touched down at 1:40 am this morning 06/12/2017.

The return of the 401 illegal migrants comes a week after the widespread condemnation of the barbaric slave trade business going on in the North African country.

Now that the migrants has returned, the question remains; What is the plans of the Government for them? . 

All the previous returnees were abandoned at the airport as soon as they landed. Most of them usually makes their way to the Synagogue Church of All Nations where the man of God Prophet TB Joshua supportes them with millions of Naira to start up their lives again.

President Muhammadu Buhari has made a shocking disclosure of how he once considered fleeing from Nigeria months after been sworn into office.

Buhari claimed that the parlous state of the economy then (same now though) made him consider of running away from Nigeria. A situation he has once again blamed on the past administration.

President Buhari made the statement while speaking in Cote d’Ivoire. In his words;

“When I came, what I found out is terrible. It is absolutely terribly.

“We are lucky in Nigeria that we have been able to survive 2016. Honestly, I told some people close to me that I was thinking of which country to run to if things got out of hand.

“Between 1999 and 2014, I have said it several times in Nigeria, Nigeria had never got so much revenue like it did at that time. But then, when we came, the price of oil went down to $28 per barrel from an average of $100 per barrel at the production rate of 2.1 million barrel per day. So, multiply 2.1 million by $100, that is what Nigeria was getting from 1999 to 2014.

“But when we came, the price came down to $28. I went to Central Bank (of Nigeria) to look for money and they said there was no money, only debts.

“And the infrastructure – roads, rail, power- that you have been talking about, nothing was absolutely done. So, really, God hears the prayers of His servants and the last three raining seasons were good. We were very lucky I would have absconded.
