10 years in jail knack on you.

The Ogun state police command has arrested 25-year old man, Ajibade Olumuyiwa, pictured above, for allegedly killing one Olakitan Balogun, who he alleged was having an affair with his wife.



Ajibade was arrested following a distress call received by the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, of Ajuwon Division from residents of Doland Estate that a man had murdered his wife's side man right inside his house.



On interrogation, the suspect explained that he came to his house in the middle of the night and met the deceased right inside the house with his wife, which he said infuriated him and then he started beating the man. In the process, he hit his head against the wall which led to his death.



His wife however denied having an affair with the deceased. She said her husband had abandoned her in the house for the past eight months with an instruction to the gate man to be monitoring her and be giving him information if he saw her with any man.



She stated further that the victim was a cobbler leaving within the area and that on that day, the deceased’s girlfriend came to pay him visit and that since he was not living alone, he decided to bring the girl to a room in the house due to his closeness to the family.

“But as soon as the gateman saw him, he alerted the husband who rushed to the house and descended heavily on the deceased without listening to any explanation from her and the girlfriend to the victim,’ she said.

Meanwhile, the corpse of the deceased has been deposited at the General Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination

Popular Nigerian gay man, Jide Macualay, will be ordained an Anglican Priest in the Church of England in June this year.

Jide who left in Nigeria many years ago after his attempt to set up a gay-based Church, House of Rainbow, failed in Nigeria.

The 53-year-old shared an invitation card to his ordination on his social media handle and wrote

''It is a delight to share this news, I am to be ordained Anglican Priest in the Church of England in June 2019.

President Buhari arrived his home town of Daura on Thursday ahead of the Governorship and State Assembly elections scheduled for Saturday.



He landed at the Daura Helipad in a Presidential Chopper marked NAF-541 at 6:50 p.m. in company with his aides and close family members.



The president was received by the Emir of Daura, Farouk Umar, his kinsmen, and hundreds of well-wishers. The president’s wife, Aisha Buhari, will also host a thanksgiving dinner for women and youth organisations in Daura.

Veteran Nollywood actor, Tony Anyasador, has died. The actor died in the early hours of today March 7th after battling an undisclosed ailment.

He was on admission in a hospital in Federal Medical Center (FMC) Owerri, Imo state where he died.

His remains has since been deposited in the morgue.

A Nigerian citizen who had been living in Canada was on Monday, March 4, sentenced by U.S. federal court to 10 years in prison for obstructing justice in a multi-million dollar fraud case.

Michael Adefemi Adeyemo, also known as Adekunle Olufeni Adetiloye, was previously sentenced in 2012 in North Dakota to serve 17 years and six months for a multi-million dollar credit card fraud scheme involving more than 20 banks in the U.S., according to a Justice Department news release.

At the time, it was the largest credit card fraud suffered by US Bank and the Discover Card Bank in their histories.

Years after the 2012 sentencing, authorities discovered Adeyemo, 47, took steps to conceal his prior residency in the U.S. as a legal permanent resident, that he was a licensed attorney in Nigeria and that he was a fugitive with an outstanding warrant in California from 2001 for another fraud scheme.

A jury found him guilty of concealing this evidence from authorities to reduce his 2012 sentence.

Sentencing Adeyemo to 10 years in prison, District Judge Linda Reade in Iowa said Adeyemo showed a "callous disregard of the laws of the United States."

"This case was investigated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. “The U.S. Postal Inspection Service has been and will always be relentless in the pursuit of facts throughout a criminal investigation,” said Bill Hedrick, Inspector in Charge of the Denver Division of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, which includes North Dakota. “Postal Inspectors know this and take great pride in their search to find the truth. Through the diligence of our Inspector and others in this case, we were able to bring the defendant to face justice for the full scope of his crimes,” said Hedrick. “We appreciate the dedicated effort of all those involved in this case, including the U.S. Postal Inspection Service Forensic Lab, and agents from Homeland Security Investigations.”

The People Democratic Party, PDP, has cautious President Buhari and APC to steer clear of all PDP strongholds, particularly Niger Delta region, ahead of the March 9 Governorship and State Assembly Elections.

The party also warn VP Osinbajo and APC chairman to perish the thoughts of using thugs to muscle and disrupt the Akwa-Ibom Governorship and Sate assembly elections.

In a statement that was signed and made available to MEDIAHELM NEWS from the party chairman, Kola Ologbondiyan, he said:

The PDP cautions President Buhari and his prowling APC to steer clear of all PDP strongholds, particularly the Niger Delta region, ahead of the March 9, Governorship and State Assembly elections, in order to avert a widespread crisis in our country.

The party also counsels VP Prof Osinbajo and APC factional Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, to perish APC’s thoughts of using thugs to muscle the Akwa-Ibom governorship and state assembly elections, as the people have been fully rallied for a firm resistance on Saturday.

PDP’s position is predicated on the on-going heavy shipment of security forces and armed thugs into PDP strongholds, particularly, the Niger Delta region, with the view to suppress voters and manipulate the March 9 electoral process for the APC

Since the robbery of the PDP Presidential mandate, which Nigerians are determined to reclaim at the tribunal, the APC has been jittery over the escalated public support for the PDP not only to retain our states but to ensure a sweeping victory for PDP in APC states

As a result, the APC is desperate to unleash violence in oil rich Akwa-Ibom, Rivers, Cross River, Delta, Bayelsa, Abia, as well as Benue, Taraba, Gombe, Sokoto, Enugu, Ebonyi, Kwara, but these states & all other strongholds of PDP, spanning across our nation, remain impregnable.

The PDP warns that Nigerians are still livid over the rigging of the Feb. 23 Presidential election, which was clearly won by Atiku. As such, any further attempt to test their collective will on March 9 is capable of sparking off a huge civil restiveness across our nation.

We invite Nigerians to note how Osinbajo, on Tuesday, at a town hall meeting in Uyo, Akwa-Ibom state, boasted that he and Oshiomhole will ensure that the APC will never be defeated and how thugs, loaded in over 50 buses,...

...who confessed to have been contracted by Oshiomhole, were later intercepted on their way from Edo state to Akwa-Ibom to cause mayhem during Saturday’s election.

The PDP has full information on various secret locations in Akwa-Ibom state, including hotels and other camps, where the APC has quartered thugs ahead of Saturday’s election.

We note that the Police have refused to evacuate these thugs. Let it be known that the people of Akwa Ibom State Pdp AkwaIbom will never allow them to operate.

Police in Ogun State have arrested a 29-year-old man, Owolabi Folorunso Adewale, for allegedly butchering his 99-year-old aunt to death.

The suspect was arrested on Monday for culpable homicide at Maraisa Lane, Igan Road Ago-Iwoye, in Ijebu North Local Government Area of the state.

According to a statement by the spokesperson of the Ogun State police command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, the machete used by the suspect to hack Ebunola Aroboto to death was also recovered.

On interrogation, the suspect admitted killing the old woman, claiming he suspected the victim was responsible for the spiritual problems he had encountered.

The suspect, Oyeyemi, also claimed his aunt always used his “supernatural power” to block him from winning anytime he played lotto.

When firefighters arrived at Freedom Ministries Church in Grandview, West Virginia, U.S, they were left stunned by what they saw.

A devastating fire -- so hot that firefighters had to back out at one point -- was ravaging through the building, the Coal City Fire Department said in a Facebook post.

But as they went through the charred wreckage, they noticed something extraordinary.

"In your mind, everything should be burned, ashes. Not a single bible was burned and not a single cross was harmed!!" the department wrote.

The Facebook post, which went viral, features compelling photos of a pile of about a dozen intact Bibles surrounded by the rubble.

"Though the odds were against us, God was not," the firefighters added. No firefighters were injured in the operation. The cause of the fire is still unclear.
