usbcable:What's your favourite RM moment of the last 110 years? I have a hard time choosing between the 6-2 loss at the Bernabeu and the 5-0 annihillation at the Nou Camp. |
FBS:Pity he's never had the kind of transfer kitty Mou has always had. |
Higuain: 16 goals in 1032 minutes. A goal every 64.51 minute. Best minute to goal ratio in the top 5 leagues in Europe. |
usbcable:It's just that I expect more from an £80m man and the 2nd best player in the world than just penalties and tap ins. £80m for a tap in merchant? WTF? |
Whoa! What a goal by Pipa! Golazo. . . Fantastic cross from Kaka. Higuain >>>> Penaldo. 16 goals, 0 penalties plus he's played like half the minutes Penaldo's played. If the team were built around him, he'd be scoring 100 goals every season. |
I'm not even watching. Checked the score. . . Same ol |
Wow! What a game! We showed the stuff of champions. Played the entire 2nd half with a man down and despite Sporting levelling scores early in the 2nd half, we still won. Special shout out to The Don. When he's on god mode like he was today, there's just no hope for the opposition. Glad he got his first league goal of the season. |
Iniesta's first league goal of the season. Sporting defending deep. |
Messi and Busi are both suspended for tonight's game. Abidal and Thiago are injured. |
usbcable:Y'all should have been down to 9 men - Pepe and Ramos should have been sent off plus Rayo should have been given a penalty but as per usual, it was Rayo who had a man sent off for a clean challenge. How much is Perez paying the refs? |
Our play was too narrow. Atleti didn't really press us. At one point we had 82 % possession. They could defend very narrowly though because Pep's lineup allowed them to. It was like the England - Spain friendly. We had 0 width in our game and couldn't penetrate (we had 3 shots on target. 2 were goals. 1 was a wonder goal. With 72 % possession of the ball. . . . Numerous times Messi, Fabregas and Alexis were standing within a radius of 5 yards away from each other in the centre of the park, getting into each others way. It was infuriating to watch. As a final note, the referee was horrible as per usual. Spanish refs are a disgrace. All things considered, we have to admit that Atlético were probably hard done by some decisions. |
Scrappy win but I'll gladly take it. Once again, Iniesta is not a winger. Why is Pep immitating del Bosque all of a sudden? He will never be able to play Messi, Xavi, Iniesta and Cesc together and get the best out of all 4 of them. Give it up already. |
Valdes. . . What a save that was. |
Gooooal! Alves scores after a neat move involving Messi and Cesc. |
I'm sickened by this refereeing, this is so blatant that it's actually starting to get laughable. How on earth was this not a red? [flash=400,450] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YRX9JkBzYqw[/flash] |
The ref is a joke. Pepe and Ramos should have been sent off. |
Tough game vs Atleti tonight. Simeone has really transformed that team since taking over. They're yet to lose since he took over and have only conceded two. The Atleti we'd be facing tonight will be a very different one from the one that got hammered at the Camp. Good thing we didn't have any game midweek and the team must be well rested. I don't know if Xavi is fit enough to play. He was named in the Spain squad for their upcoming friendly. We've been poor on the road but if we play as good as we played against Valencia we should win. |
Bilbao beat Lokomotiv Moscow 1-0. They'll face Man United next in the round of 16. The EL is serving some very tasty fixtures this season. |
tocdee:The Don can play in just about any position on the pitch - AM, CM, he's effective as a winger(eventhough I hate seeing him played there). He can even play as DM. He actually started his career as a DM. I remember him coming on for van Bommel in the 06 CL final and providing the key pass for Etoo's equalizer. He isn't The Don for nothing. |
usbcable:You know like he does in Spain. So they can call decisions in his favour. |
Don't know if this is any true Reports suggest Barcelona have completed the signing of two Chelsea youngsters Sam Monjack and Charlie Colkett. The two were given a tour of La Masia a few weeks back and were said to be extremely impressed with the new building and facilities. As both players are under contract at Chelsea, Barca had to pay around £300,00 for each player. They will both join up with squad at the end of the season and will start in the Cadet A, then move on from there. Chelsea aren't said to be very happy. |
So no penalty and no red card for the opposition and Madrid actually drew. Oh! It's Europe. . . . Referees can't help you here ![]() |
CSKA's coach is a real goat. He rhould have started with Sekou and Honda. Madrid had no answer to those two. |
Benzena injured, replaced by Pipa |
Feleezy:Pep's insistence on playing Cesc in midfield seems to be paying off finally. He was immense last night. He did everything right - passing, running, dribbling, marking, creating, attacking, you name it. The only sour spot was that stupendous miss when were 2-1 up. The Don went bonkers last night. . . . He's just as good playing CM as he is at playing AM. |
Messi. . . . speechless. 42 goals + 21 assists. |
coogar: usbcable:But his overall game has completely diminished: He's completing 1.3 succesful dribbles per game now. In his first season at Real Madrid he was almost on par with Messi in that regard (3.1). Same goes for his passing. Can you imagine that in his first season he played more key passes than Messi per game?! From 2.6 it went down to 1.7 per game. So what is obvious to the eyes can also be backed up with statistics. His first goal for Real Madrid (ironically a penalty : D) was actually due to some nice footwoork: [flash=425,400] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDCYZy267-Y[/flash] Can you imagine him dribbling past defenders like this anymore? I can't. He's turned into a rich man's Mario Gomez since then. As per penalties, he has scored 22(league only) since joining Madrid. If you add cup and CL, everything would be close to or even more than 30. That's just insane! You have to admit that his stats are seriously boosted by PKs. There's no where you will find a player that has scored about 30 PKs in the last three seasons. |
Stonking strike by dive Maria. What a goal! |
dayokanu:Damn it! Your Jabulani fingers beat me to it. Second string Valencia side - No Alves, Banega, Ruiz, Alba. Soldado and Miguel didn't start. I hope this eternally confines this cold, wet, windy night Stoke myth to the ancestral depths of the trash can. |
Stoke 0 - Valencia 1. . . . A cold, wet, windy night at The Britannia isn't that hard it seems. |
ritchboy:You're joking right? He has only scored one this season from over 30 attempts in all competitions. Last season he scored 4 from 52 attempts. Seb Larsson is currently the king of freekicks. I doubt anyone has a better conversion ratio. |
Roland17:He pulled Busquet back by the arm. . . . Correct decision |
