Nairaland / General / WHO Gave Nigeria Millions For Vaccine by meeking: 5:10pm On Dec 04, 2021
Sometimes last year (2020) there was a social media video of a woman saying Tanzania rejected $200,000,000 to vaccinate its citizens but Nigerian Government accepted the offer. Please does anyone have a link or even the video? Most appreciated.

It means that you were born in September but that is not the day you were conceived (in the womb). ask your mom, she will tell you. it was towards the end of December and your mom was 24 years old.

If anyone can assist me with Barr. Falanas' number. I will like to fully support his mission to the end. I've witnessed so many innocent citizens and tax payers (whose tax money are used to build nigerian roads) but suprisingly have not been allowed to use the roads they paid for. However, the governors and other politicians (who seldom pay tax - governors are not taxable) use the roads anyhow. We should all join hands to support this barr. Falanas' mission. This is oppresion of the highest order. Nigerians know your rights and standup against any form of oppression. It was Prof. Iyayi today, it could be you tommorrow.

Education / Re: President Jonathan To Meet ASUU On Monday, November 4 by meeking: 3:48pm On Oct 31, 2013
teemama20: President Goodluck Jonathan will on Monday, November 4, meet with the leadership of ASUU at the Presidential Villa.

This was part of the resolutions of the meeting between the ASUU leadership, Vice President Namadi Sambo and the Supervising Minister of Education on Tuesday as was first reported by this medium.

An official of the Vice President's office who pleaded anonymity told Scan News that all hands are now on deck to ensure that the universities resume next week.

The official stated that the Vice President and the Supervising Minister of Education have made head-way in resolving the strike, but the final involvement of the President is to show ASUU that there is the commitment of the Federal Government at the highest level.

It was learnt that the President has been fully briefed on steps taken by Vice President Namadi Sambo and the Supervising Minister of Education to get to this point.

It was learnt that the President will at next Monday's meeting present to the ASUU leadership the administration's last concession for them to call off the prolonged strike.

A source at the Presidential Villa noted that if ASUU fails to call off, the Federal Government will then resort to plan B, which will be to compulsorily open the universities, using the instrumentality of the governing councils and the school managements.

Already, most of the governing councils of the universities have started meeting to work out modalities for the compulsory re-opening of the universities should ASUU fail to honour the personal request of President Jonathan.

Scan News gathered that the Supervising Minister of Education, Barr.

Nyesom Wike and the Vice Chancellors of Public Universities also discussed the re-opening of the schools last Monday. Most of the Vice Chancellors suggested the compulsory re-opening of the schools, should the last ditch efforts fail.

It was gathered that security report available to the Presidency may have necessitated this line of action to salvage the universities system from the direction it is facing at present.

FUCKING LIAR. MR. PRESIDENT WAS A LECTURER HIMSELF. YOU DIDN'T KNOW I GUESS.

shut up my friend

PROF. FEMI DOESNT NEED TO SHUP UP. BESIDES HE WASN'T TALKING, HE WAS WRITING. ARE YOU A STUDENT? BECAUSE YOU'LL BE A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF A DILAPIDATED EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM - SINCE YOU CAN'T TELL WHEN SOMEONE IS WRITING AND WHEN HE IS TALKING.

okay. I'm not trynna act coy...let's Look @ it from this angle...
how about the money gotten from diplomas, post utme, part time programmes, and more?
how about solicitation from wealthy Nigerians? in my school for instance the VC solicits from wealthy people to carry out projects and in less than 2years he has achieved what predecessors put together didn't achieve.
I'm talking about professor Abdulrashid of Bayero university kano.

DR. ISA FAGGE (CHAIRMAN OF ASUU) IS A LECTURER FROM BAYERO UNIVERSITY KANO.

HE SHOULD HAVE JUST ACCEPTED "VCS' SOLICITATION FROM WEALTHY PEOPLE - WHO BY THE WAY, PROBABLY STOLE FROM THE GOVERNMENT.

LETS LOOK AT THE STATISTICS. KANO IS A COMMERCIAL CAPITAL OF THE NORTHERN REGION. KANO MAKES LOTS OF MONEY FROM TAXATION OF COMMERCIAL ENTERPRISES (SINCE THE 1950S' - GROUNDNUT PYRAMIDS). MEANING THAT KANO HAS A GOOD REVENUE RETURN AND CAN HELP EDUCATION E.T.C.

WHAT ABOUT JIGAWA (NO RESOURCES, OR COMMERCE) E.T.C HOW DO THE VCS' OF SUCH A PLACE SOURCE MONEY? OR SHOULD THEY GO BEGGING ON THE STREETS?

I THINK THAT DR. ISA FAGGE DOESNT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH HIS SCHOOL. BUT HE WAS BEEN CONSIDERATE ON OTHER SCHOOLS THAT CAN'T GENERATE FINANCIAL AIDS FOR EDUCATION.

while I sit at home for months doing nothing only to resume for exams and I'm expected to pass @ d end of d day
.

DO SOMETHING. MAYBE STUDY IN ANTICIPATION FOR A VERY DIFFICULT EXAM. (ACTUALLY, IT HELPS IF YOU OVER EXAGGERATE THE DIFFICULTY OF THE EXAMS WHILE YOU ARE STUDYING FOR IT). IT MAKES YOU OVER PREPARED AND IN MOST CASES, THE EXAM QUESTIONS WILL MELT UNDER YOUR PEN THE SAME WAY BUTTER MELTS IN BREAD.

GO TO THE LIBRARY AND READ A RELATED BOOK ON YOUR COURSE (IT EXPANDS YOUR HORIZON OF KNOWLEDGE).

I MEAN THE EXAM WILL BE SWEET.

Even if the politicians re stealing...why can't they (able lecturers) continue teaching the students....and pretend as if the politicians re honest.....they should continue training the students on how they can turn out to be the best leader in the later future.

YES, LETS ALSO PRETEND THAT ASUU IS FIGHTING A HONEST FIGHT AND PRETEND WE ARE FIGHTING WITH THEM.

I disagree with u completely.
lecturers hate d students and don't bloody care whether or not they get a good job or sound education. i hate all lecturers.... can u imagine one stubborn lecturer gave me D in a course where I tutor my fellow students.... if u want to be a Senator so be it....if u are a lecturer teach well, don't extort students and don't fail students because u didn't get a first class....old sadists!!!

TRUE, I DIDN'T GET A FIRST CLASS IN A NIGERIAN UNIVERSITY. BUT I GOT A FIRST CLASS IN A FOREIGN UNIVERSITY, FINISHED MY PH.D AT THE AGE OF 25 WITH A DISTINCTION. AND WAS ASKED TO COME AND RENDER SERVICE TO MY COUNTRY (WHICH I DID AND I'M DOING PRESENTLY).

WASAK, NOT ALL LECTURERS ARE THE SAME. I FOR ONE DON'T HATE MY STUDENTS. AS A MATTER OF FACT, SOME OF MY BEST FRIENDS ARE THE BRIGHTEST STUDENTS.

I KNOW WHAT I WENT THROUGH IN THE UNIVERSITY IN THIS COUNTRY BUT THAT WILL NOT MAKE ME HATE SOMEONE ELSE (BECAUSE I AM EDUCATED - THAT MEANS I KNOW WHAT IT FEELS LIKE TO HATE A STUDENT - I'VE BEEN A VICTIM MYSELF).

BUT, YOU CANT BELIEVE IT THAT SOME OF MY ROLE MODELS ARE ACTUALLY THE SAME LECTURERS THAT I THOUGHT WERE VICTIMIZING ME WHEN I WAS SCHOOLING IN THIS COUNTRY.

I CAME TO REALIZE THAT ALL THEY WERE DOING (ONE WAY OR THE OTHER - EITHER LOVE OR HATE ME) THEY WERE DOING IT FOR MY OWN GOOD.

ITS ANOTHER WAY OF SEEING THINGS.

WASAK, "LOVE, DONT' HATE".

Ada Nri1: we all know ASSU is not fighting just for students, it's fighting mainly for it's pockets. If they had gotten all the allowances they were demanding this strike would have been called of since. Mind you I passed through a Nigerian Uni, I discovered that apart from those few lecturers with moral compass, the rest were just there as a means of livelihood. The hatred for students; shocking! So don't tell me that their strike is for students, it's for them.
You just couldn't resist insulting others by saying we are blabbering, have some respect mate, everybody must not agree with you

BLABBERING:- SPEAK ABOUT MATTERS INCESSANTLY

Ada Nri1: So they want to be like senators ei? More reason why I think ASSU is just being selfish. They've looked at the jumbo pay of senators and want the same, forgetting that no Nigeria likes that jumbo pay to senators too.

ADA NRI1 : ASUU IS SAYING THAT THE JUMBO PAY TO USELESS SENATORS SHOULD BE PUT INTO THE EDUCATIONAL SECTOR SO THAT YOUR EDUCATION, YOUR CHILDRENS' EDUCATION, AND YOUR CHILDRENS' CHILDREN EDUCATION WILL BE SECURED (IN OTHER WORDS, YOUR CHILDREN AND GRAND CHILDREN WILL STILL GO TO PUBLIC SCHOOLS - JUST LIKE THE ONE YOU ATTENDED AND STILL GET EVEN BETTER EDUCATION THAN YOU).

THE RATE OF UNEMPLOYMENT IS ALARMING IN THIS COUNTRY. HOW PARENTS ACTUALLY EARN BETTER SALARIES? AND HOW MANY CAN AFFORD THEIR CHILDREN IN PRIVATE UNIVERSIITES?

USE YOUR HEAD (TO THINK OF THE FUTURE), USE YOUR HEART (TO FEEL FOR ASUU).

REMEMBER, WHAT AN OLD MAN (ASUU) CAN SEE WHILE SEATED, YOU (BLABBERING STUDENTS) CANNOT SEE EVEN IF YOU CLIMB MOUNT KILIMANJARO AND EVEREST COMBINED TOGETHER.

YOU'VE SAID IT ALL PROF. FEMI. YOU'VE SAID IT ALL.
I HAVE NO DOUBT THAT MOST OF THE STUDENTS POSTING THREADS ARE EVEN THE DULL ONES THAT JUST WANT TO GRADUATE WITHOUT ACQUIRING AN OUNCE OF KNOWLEDGE (EXCEPT DOWNLOADING HOMEWORK AND RESEARCH FROM THE INTERNET).

WHEN I WAS A STUDENT NIGERIAN UNIVERSITIES WENT ON STRIKE FOR 2 YRS 10 MONTHS (34 MONTHS). NOBODY DEMONSTRATED, BECAUSE IT WAS ONLY THOSE THAT KNEW THE PAINS OF STUDYING IN THE UNIVERSITY WERE GIVEN ADMISSION. THERE WAS NO MIRACLE CENTER FOR ANYBODY TO PASS WAEC, THERE WAS NO CHIPS FOR WRITING JAMB.

YOU SHOULD ALL LEARN TO RESPECT THE CAUSE OF ANY INDIVIDUAL WHETHER ASUU OR NOT. IF SHOEMAKERS DECIDE TO GO ON STRIKE, THE COUNTRY IS EXPECTED TO LOOK INTO THE CAUSE OF THEIR STRIKE AND REASONABLY COME TO TERMS WITH THEM. FG IS NOT REASONABLY COMING TO TERMS WITH ASUU. IF YOU DEMAND 1.4 TRILLION AND YOU ARE GIVEN 100 BILLION (WHAT PERCENTAGE OF YOUR DEMANDS IS BEEN MET?) ANSWER: LESS THAN 10 PERCENT.

IS FG NOW PAYING TITHES OR REASONABLY ADDRESSING ASUU? (TITHE IS 10%)

IF YOU KNOW WHAT IS GOOD FOR YOU, YOU WILL PLEAD WITH ASUU TO END THE STRIKE.
IF YOUR PARENTS ARE THAT CARING, WHY DIDN'T THEY ENROLL YOU IN A PRIVATE UNIVERSITY WHERE THERE IS NO STRIKE?
DON'T FORGET THAT EVEN SOME OF THE LECTURERS ARE STUDENTS IN THE SAME UNIVERSITY. YOUR COMMENTS ON THIS SUBJECT ARE PURELY EMOTIONAL THUS SHOWCASING HOW IGNORANT SOME OF YOU ARE.
Education / Re: Student Attempts Suicide Over ASUU Strike by meeking: 3:53pm On Oct 21, 2013
In 1992 (probably some of you were not yet given birth to, ASUU went on strike for a total period of 33 months. Market women did not protest, Clergies did not interfere, students did not offer to pay lecturers, and nobody attempted suicude.
The educational system in this country is rottening, ASUU are standing their grounds on educational reform and every illeterate is protesting. Pls keep your calm, ASUU is not the enemy. The general public are suppose to mount immense and intense pressure on the federal government to respond to ASUU's demands so that nigerian public universities would be salvaged.
