Reading through the responses, it seems PO is the man to beat in the 2023 presidential election. It shows, opponents are now weary of the election and doing all permutations to ensure their candidate win.

Sadly, the era of permutations is over. Lot of bottlenecks to be cracked which cannot be now. Vote buying is going to extinction. Ballot snatching or stuffing is already a bad market and no more writing of figures. Lobatan.

What is their next strategy? You know their antecedents. They play dirty politics so,beware. Don't get too close and do not the too far.

Exactly bro..Seyi is building his own connection too using his dad's influence...Tinubus wife is there too supporting her husband's ambition... Anybody that studies the way Tinubu is running his Campaign will know the man will win....He has more work rate than the other flagbearer and running his Campaign in a Unique and strategic manner.I will implore all aspiring politicians to learn from the person wey Sabi road.

Because he owns our thumbs. Why campaign if he knows he will win. Why granting international media request.

For now, nobody is certain to win 2023 presidential election. The youths are angry with the state of the nation.. The Northerners want to retain power at all cost. Christian don't want Nigeria to be islamatize. Southerners want rotational power. With these permutations, let's stop abusing ourselves by creating enemity. It will come and go. The winner will do his best just like Buhari and in another 4years, God spearing our lives, we would go to the poll again.

Is it that bad for the youth to think about slavery? How did we get here?

Leave all these politicians and talk some sense into US. Are we born slaves? Will our children grow up to become slaves? What the heck is wrong with us. Can't we just make the foolish wot their money and send them away from power? What exactly are we benefitting from that makes us rejoice whenever we see them.?

Tinubu thought money will do it.

Aso rock boys/cabals are tighting all angles for large amount during the elections

Buhari is not allowed to campaign for him rather make promises for free and fair elections which Tinubu is not known for.

VP and Ministers are not allowed on campaign train. Another checkmate.

A host of APC candidates who lost primaries have failed to associate themselves with BAT

The Northerners have started playing their game.

Governors seeking term are doing eye service.

Tinubu needs to check his circle again. Meet PMB to know his stand on his Presidential ticket. Make statement that would ensure only loyalist stay behind.

Gradually, baba will lule and it will be disastrous for him.

She doesn't have to be 100% honest with me, but if I can connect her with the right people and she is honest with them then that's cool with me. As long as she gets her child back

I wish it was anywhere in the Southwestern state, I'll walk straight into the matter and see it resolved amicably pro bono. I don't know anyone in Abuja that works in their welfare Agency. However, I'd see if any of my colleagues can link me with any in Abuja.

Or do you know where there Welfare Agency is located in Abuja?

People are not running away because they lack money rather, they lack peace of mind. Happiness is key in life. Imagine, working 30days and a Governor or CEO decide not to pay your salary just because his/her daughter failed an exam or because you complained.

See, people had to go through school to secure a good life for their children. Schools abroad ain't cheap so, money is not the problem. A host of Nigerians are on blood pressure and hypertension drugs. Is that a life?

Fuel of 240 per litre is now 300 this week without prior notice and salary will not change. Is that a sane country? Suffering and smiling is not too good for our health especially the younger ones. They rarely feed well and live a happy life as we had while growing.

Well, the future of the country lies in our hands. If we like, we use tribalism to elect our leaders, if we like, we use religion or other sentiments to pick them. We will gather suffer for it.

Whoever we choose, we go gather enjoy or suffer for it....Just ensure you vote your conscience so that when the suffering or enjoyment comes, you will be sad or happy.

pdppower:
Peter Obi must warn his useless mob and gangsters of supporters to desist from threatening my wife and family, they have have done nothing wrong. He should be bold and man enough to face me squarely.

He should not push me to providing evidence that will tell the world about his cocaine scandal that has banished him from Malaysia. He should not make me explain to the world how I helped him pay $58k to security officials in Kuala Lumpur when they almost bursted him.

He still has my phone numbers. Ask him about Chief Ignatius K. Chinadozie.

The Tinubu alleged but unproven scandals will be a joke when I reveal those of Peter Obi..... I use to like you my brother until you betrayed me. The evil..... against my people have gone on for far too long but sadly, you are not the one to salvage the Igbo Nation. Remember what you did that unfortunate night at downtown Chinatown where you abandoned me and fled because you suspected guys following us were Police officers? I have more to reveal but don't make me do this

I'll be telling the world about the contracts you got to bring in coke for some gangsters in Bukit Bangsar, a suburb of Kuala. Remember your popular "We don make am" slang Or do we get started on how you built your Next shopping mall...Okwute, you won't like me.

And pls, send my $58k I need the money I don't care about your presidential bid or anything cos you're worse than Tinubu and Atiku combined and the Igbo Nation should stop their obvious hypocrisy right away. I will be coming on air soon to grant interviews if you don't desist from calling my name and sending your hoodlums to threaten my family.

Asari Dokubo has taken you up on this issue. He's a man who knows your past just like I do. He's challenged you but what did you do? instead of taking him to court you sent your killer squad to hunt him down with the leader being Chisom fearless from Durban, South Africa.

I put it to you Gregory that you are a merchant of illicit drugs and narcotics. Meanwhile, the footballer you destroyed his career, remember him? The guy who played for Selangor FC was arrested 5years ago for attempting suicide and he's currently suffering from depression. Your drugs destroyed him, Okwute. You have somehow found a way to secretly drive away the families of Abuchi Ngwoke and Ekene Collins, students in your school of gangsterism who've both been sentenced to death for drug crimes.

Despite my warnings, Okwute you found your way to bring cultism into Malaysia and in most cases use these boys to settle scores in your drug wars. Now, there are cult wars everywhere in Malaysia and the image of Nigeria have been badly damaged. Needless to remind you that the methamphetamine which you are part and parcel of as a cartel leader has destroyed the lives of our youths in Igboland. Hope you're happy seeing the frequent deaths in Igbo land these days because it's the result of your handiwork. Hope you will kind enough explain to the people you seek to lead that your campaign finances are from IPOB sympathisers outside Nigeria.

Time is money & money is tight these days. The 4-5 times she's been to Nigeria she's spent a lot of resources that ended up not helping in any way whatsoever. So I made a promise to her that before she goes to Nigeria (and possibly come back empty handed AGAIN). It's better to subtlety put her story out there and we can maybe get leads and people that would be able to assist without alarming the family or angering them in any way. Then from there she can travel back to Nigeria with a renewed hope that this time she has a 90%chance of returning with him. She can't travel to Nigeria and break into their home and steal her son

Which state do the inlaws reside?

Don't involve the lawyer or police again, they will continue to collect her hard earned money.

If you answer the question,I'd guide her properly.

But please, let her tell you the truth and nothing but the truth on how her child was collected from her. I can assure you, she has a case but if the other party mention stuffs that are not known before hand, it will not be easy. Whatever that transpired, either sweet or ugly, did something bad or sent wrong people or anything that you believed hurt the family should be known. She shouldn't hide anything.

Why is APC not using Buhari's achievements for their candidate. I think Fashola and Keyamo said, they achieved a lot. Are they scared?

Tinubu campaigned for Buhari extra ordinarily. He shouted, lost his voice and was even the spokesperson making promises. Why can't Buhari do same for him?

They know 2023 will be very hard for APC to win. It will be difficult. State Governors are not helping matters. They are not paying pensions and salaries. They owe contractors and another era of fuel scarcity, coupled with increase in price of goods and services. Drivers,Artisans, Students and civil sevants are mocking and cursing the govt for the suffering.

During PDP, by now, state govt will not owe salaries. Go a long to put smile on the masses just to ensure they win, but APC is doing otherwise. People will go to polls with hatred and frustration. There will be increase in void votes and unknown parties will have relevant votes.

It's sad but the truth. People are tired, frustrated and ready to pay the ruling class in their own coin come Feb.

It is too much of "let the sleeping dog lie" that kept Nigeria where it is. A University, caused unnecessary pressure on the young man, denied him of his scholarship which in turn, made him start working in order to pay his fees and as a result of that, his grade dropped even further. Do you know how many jobs he may lose in the future because his grades are not up to the level recruiters want? Do you know that this "sleeping dog" can mar this guy's life?

My first option is for you to get a good lawyer (some will even do it for free and will ask for money when you win the case), and sue the University. This option will likely pay for all damages and future costs in your career. The second option however, is to get back to the scholarship body and explain what happened. You may be lucky to be paid back the amounts you are owed.

When you know a system will not favour you, why test the waters? Yes, getting them to court will go a long way in jurisprudence and keep UNI on their feet.

Remember, the case will linger for so long and you expect the management to treat the guy with kid gloves. He would be labelled. It is what it is. You won't be there when ugly things happen to him.

The guy struggled all his life to obtain this certificate with good grades and you want him to sue the school for an error. Omo, he would graduate and regret why he went to court.

Let the sleeping dog lie. This is where we found ourselves.

Witchunting at it's peak

Let the sleeping dog lie my brother. Thank God you have moved on. Just ensure you make necessary corrections before your last paper.

Let me relate

I requested for a copy of my transcript to a UNI for my PG years ago. The course in the cover letter was different from that of my transcript. I was called from the PG school to contact my UNI. Can you believe I paid another transcript fee and courier charges for an error I didn't know anything about? In saner climes, I would be compensated. In Nigeria, you can loose all the years of struggle.

Just let it go. Better days ahead...

When the mother is deemed to be unfit (medically or non-medical)

Verbal agreement by either parties due to reasons best know to them.

Coercion

Circumstances beyond the mother ( for example -want to get married and the new husband says, he cannot train another person's child, change of environment and the child c an hindrance at the beginning with the hope of coming back to pick up etc)

Judgmental;? Okay, share on what basis can an extended family member have custody of a child that has at least one birth parent alive?

In many scenarios, the extended family can take custody of the subject. I would not want to divulge because, I'd be intruding on OP's privacy.

However, for learning purpose, there is a principle in social work called -self individualization- every case can never be the same no matter how closely related hence, they should be treated differently. Every case has its own intervention and resolution. That's why I said, until you bring both parties together, you can never be too sure why the extended family have the custody of the subject.

Yes, it is wrong especially when the subject is a minor but due to some reasons known to both parties, the custody is with the extended family. I can assure you, if this case gets to the social welfare agency, it will be resolved in less than 24rs after the joint sessionn

Not necessarily true.. the mom is the primary custodian.. so the extended family is keeping the baby without his mother’s consent. We’re talking about legal custody here not welfare. Dont get it mixed up

Legal custody is handled by the family court. Probation officers (welfare officers) are like lawyers in this court. Registered lawyers rarely hold briefs for clients in this court.

To get custody of a child, the welfare officer will take charge. Not lawyers, nor police or anyone but social workers in the Welfare Agency.

This is more of a custody issue. The South African High Commission in Nigeria would be involved as the child is also South African by birth through his mother with a South African issued birth certificate.

The birth father of the child is now late, his relatives have no legal basis to have custody of the child when his birth mother is still alive and involved to an extent in the child's life.

There is still no way you deal with custody issues if you don't involve social welfare services. As I said, the general public needs proper sensitization on social welfare services. If custody will be awarded to any party, there must be an agreement which is the memorandum of understanding and if it cannot be resolved, social welfare will refer them to the family court. After adjudication, the social welfare services will still write to the South African Embassy on the outcome to proof the mother has been awarded full/partial custody. SA will use this to process the subject's travelling document to leave Nigeria.

The first step remains to involve the social welfare department in the state.

Bolded..says who? Don't be judgemental. Because you read the case here does not mean that is the fact. Experience has revealed that everyone is a saint in every issue until proven otherwise. Let her come forward with facts, she will be heard without bias.

This is not a social welfare case, but child kidnap and endangerment. It’s better you’re empowered by a legal authority. Nigerians dont respect agreement with biting teeth

It is a social welfare issue. If you read to the end, the legal authority on welfare matters is the family court. Before going to court, all other resolution means must have been tried. If it fails, the court will do the needful.

I hop someone will be able to assist.
So my Aunt is a South African woman who was married to a Nigerian man she met in South Africa.

They had a child & when he turned 9 months her husband suggested they visit his family in Nigeria.

A few hours before leaving for the airport back to South Africa, his parents sat her down and told her the baby would have to stay.

After many words & tears her father in law and husband assured her that he would be back in a 6 months to fetch the baby.

True to his word, 6 months later my Uncle in law returned to Nigeria to fetch his children, but 2 days after he arrived he got seriously sick & passed on a few days later.

My Aunt traveled to Nigeria to lay him to rest & had to extend her stay because her in laws kept giving her the run around about why she couldn't take her child (apparently some rituals had to be done for the child since his father had just passed).

She eventually left after her father in law warned her that if she keeps pushing, they (his wife a daughter) would do to her what was done to her husband.

Fast forward 11 years later, her father in law, & mother in law are both late, she sends money to Nigeria every month for her sons upkeep but her sister in law is withholding the child, does not allow him to communicate with her.

When a neighbor tries to let him speak with his mother, they beat him up, sometimes he doesn't go to school and has to go sell water at the market.

My Aunt has tried going with the Nigerian police but failed, has involved the Nigerian embassy but they are dragging their feet. We really do not know what else to do.

Why would they withholding someone's child (a mother who desperately wants her child back) when they can't even take care of his needs.

Maybe someone has been through a similar experience and may be able to help with suggestions of how to get the child back to his mother.

People don't know social welfare departments in State are working due to non-challant attitude of civil servants coupled with a lack of proper communication between the general public and the government.

Visit any social welfare office nearest to you, insist you want to see the Director. Explain your predicament. A joint session will be called between parties where an amicable solution will be raised with more emphasis on the child. Afterwards, parties will sign a memorandum of understanding and if parties don't agree on terms, they will be referred to the family court for adjudication. The case comes to a close.

Police rarely involve themselves in social welfare issues.
