Lets not be supporting rubbish. That is distracted driving. A split second of your eyes away from the road can lead to a fatal accident. which one is both hands are on the steering. Na all these excuses carry us reach where we dey so as a people, and people are still supporting and justifying traffic violations.
Below are exerpts from Ontario Traffic Laws.
1. Ontario’s distracted driving laws apply to the use of hand-held communication/entertainment devices and certain display screens.
While you are driving, including when you are stopped in traffic or at a red light, it is illegal to:
use a phone or other hand-held wireless communication device to text or dial – you can only touch a device to call 911 in an emergency use a hand-held electronic entertainment device, such as a tablet or portable gaming console view display screens unrelated to driving, such as watching a video program a GPS device, except by voice commands You are allowed to use hands-free wireless communications devices with an earpiece, lapel button or Bluetooth. You can view GPS display screens as long as they are built into your vehicle’s dashboard or securely mounted on the dashboard.
Other actions such as eating, drinking, grooming, smoking, reading and reaching for objects are not part of Ontario’s distracted driving law. However, you can still be charged with careless or dangerous driving.
2. You could face more charges – for careless driving – if you endanger other people because of any kind of distraction. This includes distraction caused by both hand-held (e.g., phone) or hands-free (e.g., Bluetooth) devices.
If convicted of careless driving, you may receive:
six demerit points fines up to $2,000 and/or a jail term of six months a licence suspension of up to two years You could even be charged with dangerous driving – a criminal offence that carries heavier penalties, including jail terms of up to 10 years for causing bodily harm or up to 14 years for causing death.
Predator188: I don't understand what to read up from the website..even from the website phones can be used on hands free mode..
The guy is using dashcam and it is not illegal in canada, it is hands free and not obstructing view..
How can you be driving and doing this video? not only is it against the law and you can be fined and your driver's license suspended, you are also risking your life.
There is nothing that stops you from doing the video at a car park or anywhere the car is not moving. Please do better next time. Thanks.
miolad20: Don't be afraid. However, it is wise to come fully prepared.
Her story was getting exciting until i saw the remaining part.
MayorOfEdmonton: While I understand the desire to encourage new immigrants, this your post is misleading… except the advertised video explained more(I didn’t watch it). (1) Hantie Pharmacist, did you just wake up and start to apply for digital marketing without the requisite experience and certification? I doubt you did…it would have helped to mention trainings/courses you did to set yourself up for success in the new field if your intention really is to help than refer to an unverifiable link/video(Click at your peril)
(2) Wetin off me is the ‘money back guarantee’ no vex. Which one is it? The digital marketing training or actual job? You wan work for free before? Again misleading.
Yeah Canada just announced its highest unemployment rate ever seen since 2017 (asides Covid).
ednut1: people usually start seeing the ills when things become hard for them. Majority of Canadians were not aware of the Temporary foreign workers scheme/ subsidies for businesses hiring them till they couldn’t get jobs themselves.
High cost of living ( rent, mortgage, interest rates, groceries) too will make people get angry while the government is sending billIons to Ukraine. Its normal human reaction o.
Spot on. People should read the book "How much land does a man need"
SAMBARRY: If people followed the tenets of the bible, their lives will have been easier. The bible that says GODLINESS AND CONTENTMENT IS GREAT GAIN no lie.if she had stayed on God with CONTENTMENT, she might have grown at God's pace and made more than 650 million. Now the 650 million she no see, job, gone, life gone, freedom gone while raising children by a predator in inconvenient situations and those children might become likely predators and potential criminals if God doesn't rescue those children because of the circumstances and environment they were born (through no fault of theirs)
If you are earning 50k monthly and you have CONTENTMENT, your 50k will look like you're earning million every month and you know the thing with people who lack CONTENTMENT, if you like be earning 500 million naira every week, they will still be lusting after the money of another person who is collecting 2 thousand every week.it is the very reason politicians are collecting various entitlements and contracts running into millions naira yet they will be stealing carton of milk and spaghetti and depriving the vulnerable who really need those foodstuffs for their survival.
By now you should know its a mental disorder that you are collecting N700 million plus other bonuses cars, drivers and other utilities funded by government yet you're locking garri and rice inside store during covid period
Why do people always forget previous visa refusals. Any refusal is painful enough to remember for the rest of your life, in my opinion.
Nikkyy1: Good day sir/ Maa. I'm very new to this forum but please I have two questions to ask I will be glad if I can get answer today, First: I submitted canada visitor visa three months ago, in the biodata form I only state it there that I was refused canada visitor visa on September 2022, I forget to include it there that I was also refused France visiting visa in 2019 but I was told by some friends that canada only share the Biometric information with USA, UK, New Zealand and Australia that France is not included so I should be at peace. Pls I want to ask sir/maa how true it is or what should I do. 2nd question: on that same Biodata form there is a place where they mention if I have National identity document number I tick No but last week I was discussing with my friend abt it and she said the national identity document they are referring to is the same as my NIN number in my International passport but have already tick no wen filling the form. Pls is it the same thing and if is d same wot should I do. Note: I did everything by myself I'm not using any agent.
If you reach out to them before they do it will not be a problem.
That thing comes with a 5 years ban. Some people have challenged it up to the federal court and still have not gotten the 5 years and have reversed it. See excerpts of a Judicial Review below;
Respondent
JUDGMENT AND REASONS
I. Overview [1] The Applicant, Ms. Ying Wang, is a Chinese citizen. She seeks judicial review pursuant to subsection 72(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, SC 2001 c 27 [IRPA] of a decision of an officer [the Officer] of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada [IRCC] in Beijing, China, refusing her application for a temporary resident visa. The Officer refused her application for a visa because Ms. Wang failed to respond properly to a question and omitted to disclose a prior US visa revocation.
[2] For the reasons that follow, this application for judicial review is dismissed.
II. Background [3] In 2019, Ms. Wang applied for a temporary resident visa to visit her son, who is a permanent resident of Canada. On her application, she answered “no” to the following question: “Have you ever been refused a visa or permit, denied entry or ordered to leave Canada or any other country or territory?”
[4] During the course of the first review, an officer of IRCC learned that Ms. Wang had failed to disclose a prior US visa revocation. The Global Case Management System notes indicate that an initial procedural fairness letter was sent to the Applicant, but no response was received. On October 30, 2019, an officer refused the application.
hayatou27: In my own case i stated by twice refusal of TRV to Canada but i gave wrong years( which was not necessary) i wrote 2019 and 2022 instead 2019 and 2021. I hope they wont feel i lied by i declared i was denied it only the years i was wrong about . house hope i am not in soup already
kobobay: My children got a scholarship to attend a Christian school in my province. The ages 5, 7, 9. They are all of school ages.
My school fees are not paid yet, but I'm considering paying the school fees. And at the same time, I had a full-time job until the new law of 24 hours. But the job is still guarantee once I'm done with school. I will still continue to do the work under the 24 hours rules.
With information, what would you suggest that I do? I have traveled to Nigeria two times in a year to see my family. It's really hard for me leaving my family. We didn't apply together as family because their passports refused to come out at the right time.
Appeal? Was there a preocedural fairness letter issued? your brother should be happy as he just escaped a 5 years ban. Forget about appeal. Nothing to appeal there.
Deering1008: Good evening gurus in the house, my brother’s application to Canada was refused last week. Refusal letter states he wasn’t honest with his answer because he didn’t declare previous refusal to other countries. He was denied visa to the USA before but we forgot to include it in his Canada application. My question now is, can we appeal and explain it was an error on our path? Does anyone know how to start appeal on irrc website?
You see that question, what state is Gresham na dem take deny one of my relation. They asked her oh you mean Maryland in Virgina, she said yes. Visa denied.
VO WHERE R U GOING ? Me Gresham VO WHAT DO YOU DO? Me blablabla VO do you have someone in the US ME : yes, pls My sibling VO WJERE DOES HE LIVE ME GRESHAM VO what state is Gresham Me : Oregon VO : types and gives white oaper Collect your passport in 7days time
Canada is a socialist and a more conservative country even more than USA.
As others said, It is not impossible but very rare to earn that amount, most especially as a new comer. Again if you have 200k per annum on your offer letter as gross earnings, be sure to go hope with just around $140,000 per annum depending on your province.
Focus more on well-being and a decent life in Canada than making money. Everyone will eventually be fine with varying degree of comfort. Go read the article/book " How much land does a man need by Leo Tolstoy" making money as the centre of our existence is what has put us where we are in Naija at the moment.
JIREN01: Thank you Maria; you wouldn’t blame me for being obsessed nah; Money must be made. I don’t mind you sharing ideas on businesses one can delve into here in Canada.
Your previous refusals, particularly the PR refusal in 2022 due to concerns about the genuineness of your marriage, may have impacted your recent visa applications. Visa officers often exercise caution in such cases, especially when there is a history of refusal related to doubts about the relationship. However, if your current PR application includes stronger evidence and is well-prepared, it should help address those concerns. I suggest you stay patient and optimistic as your PR application progresses. Wishing you all the best!
Many people have arrived and discovered that the so-called availability of jobs is nothing but a fairy tale. Many ex-bankers are asking if they can be live-in nannies. All PSW colleges are full now. Many ladies now send unsolicited resumes with pictures attached. E rough now for Cana no be small.
They are even turning people back in transit. Just turned someone going to study from Frankfurt airport. He had no POF and eventually stated he wanted asylum. He was turned back.
unless what you stated is different from what happened. Forget about the interaction with border officers. Listen to the last poster.
DTruth10: Like I mentioned earlier, I know what my interactions with the officials was like and I understand what they explained to me as well as the circumstances surrounding the return.
Answer the question asked. How can you have 8 houses in Nigeria and living in one room and you think you are better than the ones who live in 4-bedroom houses with enough space for their kids to live and breathe well and do two or more jobs to sustain the kind of life they want for themselves and their kids.
You guys will just be opening mouth waa without knowing people's circumstances.
Wsx2: I can see where you are coming from as a female, you have no responsibilities so you will never understand
You have to first seek an Authorization to Return before making any application.
Predator188: Sounds like a removal order was enforced reason why detained and escorted by officials. Since your passport was expired IRCC will not issue you a visitor's visa passed the expiry of your passport, meaning you have no valid status to remain in Canada.. And CBSA paid for your return, that doesn't sound well..now you have to pay that money back before you return to Canada,so officially you are owing CBSA. And you may be required to obtain authorisation to return to canada 🇨🇦 if you plan to return to canada in the future.
Note:Your information may be shared with five eyes countries on the list. Canada, Australia, New Zealand ,United kingdom and the United States of America.
willyblinx: I am into tech and was willing to start with roles that didn't fully match my goals. My idea was to start somewhere especially because my wife got something we didn't want to sacrifice in the alter of "Go come back" besides it is relatively easier for me to switch later if I want but it won't be that easy for her.
Fund: Funny we only traveled with what we needed for our brief stay. Infact some of our POF was still locked in Piggyvest when we traveled. We were fine though as it was a paying job that made us extend our stay. So all is good that ends well.
I don't talk much about our experience because to my understanding and what I can see, it's not the norm. I don't want to give anyone a false hope. At the same time it is not impossible. I don't think we did anything special such the it can be used as "working method". I just know that we worked for it. My wife applied to more than 120 companies within one month (1 week before travel included) while testing the labour market, I did less than that because I never thought we were going to stay back so I didn't bother. Well, we were favoured with a reward.
That's it about my story sha. I'd leave it at that. Like I said before. It is not impossible to get it smooth. Unfortunately, not many experience it, neither do I have the "Password" for it. One just needs to put in the work and at the same time prepare for Incase.. so fund/POF is important
Is it the same toronto that Uber is rejecting vehicles less than 2018 model? Is it the same toronto that uber drivers are being compelled to take tests? Omo e choke now oh.
NuCypher: Good job! Just like I said, the barrier to entry for jobs like skip and ubereats is just too low for anyone to complain. And if one manages to add Ubering and Lyfting, the sky could be the limit temporarily until that lucrative cushy job comes around. And it will as long as one doesn't stop looking. I have too many examples of this exact same path to underestimate its efficacy. In fact, I know friends who have continued to do their Uber/Lyft activites after getting the cushy job, because that self-employment is just too lucrative and flexible to pass on. Yes, it may not be that convenient to do Ubereats on a scooter in a city like Edmonton or Calgary in Alberta. But all it takes is some striving to get a class 5 with proper planning (FRSC letter, etc) to immediately get into doing food delivery in that city or at least Uber proper, as long as you did not game your POF and hope to wing it once you land. Don't even get me started on Toronto. You could even start ubereats there without a vehicle, merely by walking. Canada is hard is a mantra you hear only from those sitting on the couch shooting resumes into the wild.
You seem qualified and prepared for Canada. I would say you an outlier.
njambert: These are my backup plans if it comes to the worst. Using savings to buy a car for Uber( I do not want this, and would consider if there were renting a car for uber options in Edmonton), going to the oil rigs for some months or getting a remote customer service role(I am very bilingual).
whats your area of specialty? what funds where available to you? If you intend to do soft landing and go back that means you had some descent bar available. Kindly assist so we all can get a wholistic view if this joblessness is wholesome or only applies to certain skills and profession.
willyblinx: Avoiding the thread entirely though might in itself not be the solution. The thing with social media and forums is there's a need to filter (mix and match)
If one concentrate only on the good news, their reality might be different when they arrive. If they concentrate only on the bad news they might get discouraged too and end up not trying. There's the need to mix optimism with reality.
Is it possible to get and offer before or within a few months of arriving Canada? Yes! My wife and I did it . In fact we traveled to only do soft landing for three weeks with intention to return to our normal jobs only to have to resume new jobs in Canada on the 4th and 5th week of arrival.
But is this the norm? No. Ask many, they would tell you a different story. So we can't tell others coming that because I did it that is the way it happens.
My advise to new PR and Students is to put in the work (effort is required) and at the same time prepare for "incase". It is not always so smooth. However, there are chances it can go smoothly too.
E be like why all the applications i don send no human don say hello to me.
The only thing i get is all these scam recruiters who will texting you with job offers.
Kenn55: Things are rough right now due to population. However, some people are not helping themselves. For example, I was talking with a Nigerian HR who talked about a Nigerian babe who is PR and has been looking for job for almost one year. She sent her a job post to apply but instructed her to send her resume for her to review before she sends her application.
Do you know that the Resume was poorly written? Even the main keywords in the job posting were absent in the Resume. Unfortunately that Resume wouldn't have passed ATS for a human to even see it. She said that is what she has been using to apply for jobs.
A lot of people applying for jobs are just wasting their time. If your resume can't pass the company's ATS, it's just a waste of time. Some people use 1 resume to apply for many jobs, that's waste of application. I don't know if it is laziness or what why someone will use one resume to apply for multiple jobs
Looking for a job is a job on it's own and you have to be very intentional about it especially now there is too much competition. You have to tailor your resume for each job posting by making sure that the main keywords in the job posting appears strategically in your resume otherwise it won't even get past the computer program.
It is stressful to always tweak your resume to match each job application but that is the only way to stand a chance otherwise someone might apply to 100 different jobs and none of the application will be seen by a human being.
Another mistake people make especially those applying for survival jobs is to showcase their high education and experience. If you are applying for low skill jobs to survive, remove your masters degree and your big professional experience from your resume. Create a low key resume Otherwise you will be seen as overqualified and it is not in the company's interest to hire overqualified person cos they believe such a person will be angry at the job and it will affect their productivity.
N5m is a little under $5000. That will only pay for 2 months' house rent and last month's deposit and winter clothes. The balance wont even feed the person for one month.
NuCypher: There are those who do gift deeds with their friends or family, collect over 20m that they will return the moment they get the visa. They will then be planning to survive for 3 months on a total savings of 5m from Nigeria. When they get to Canada and they see how much rent is, they have no choice but to take some kind of survival job to survive. Ultimately, this creates unnecessary pressure that will only lead to complaints and complaints in the following months. Having enough money to survive the initial stages in Canada is very important. If possible, plan for one year of not working and surviving comfortably. Not 3 months of barely survivable hustle.
No be money dem go take buy car, pay insurance, car maintenance etc. Yes for people who have up to spare 10k you can start but how many have spare $10k after all the expense used in relocating and money set aside for house rent.
NuCypher: Menial jobs are forever available in Canada. Starting Ubereats, skip, or uber has such low barrier of entry for any PR that anybody that doesn't want to do it and is claiming unemployment is just looking for handouts.
Even Factory work no dey now sef. You wont see it, at least not in GTA. You will just be spending money doing certifications upon certifications, no work.
lastkingsman: You mean finding professional work or all types of work?
I am here thinking with PR one can grab 'menial' jobs first use am hold body until the desired jobs are secured. It looks like Canada is the worst hit oh with this migration struggle.
Neche207: Hi guys, please I need a room around missisauga or david brampton Ontario for an international student coming in by august, please help a sister🙏
You people complain about Nigeria. You still want to carry the behaviour to Canada and then call people who comform as heartless.
Look, the country you all are running to did not get to where it is by "Abeg" or "by the grace of God" as we always do here. It got there by hard work, grit, transparency, selflessness, and obedience to laid down rules and regulations. No one is heartless. It is your brother who would not pay his rent thereby placing other people who are going to rely on the rent to offset their mortgage, high interest rate and property tax.
walenden: But some people heartless in Canada. My brother was supposed to pay rent by June 30, and we're still trying to arrange the money to send to him as he's not working yet. Yesterday, July 7, his roommate threw him out and rented the room to another person who will move in the next day, in a shared bedroom... just a 7-day rent delay. That's terrible!!
Yes, but that is less than 900 euros a month. The rent for my room in Amsterdam while I was a student in 2007 was 700 euros a month.
The man and his family are probably living off Govt assistance, housing or shelter. That is the worst position to be abroad. They will bundle all of you with drug dealers and prostitutes in the same council flats. Then the kids turn out to be criminals and the girls get pregnant as teenagers. There is nothing to brag about poverty, laziness and idleness. Avoid it!
