when you tell people they will think you don't like their progress. The Canada that says show POF you think its just for play. Many Nigerians borrow POF enter Canada and get stranded relying on friends to provide accommodation for them and next thing they will say Nigerians are so wicked. I hear that many students in Ontario have practically abandoned school to go hustle. House that was put on sale for $1.2m through bidding war eventually was bought for $1.5m and now interest rate has just moved to 4.25% I will advise people to look for smaller towns to settle in. tshtsh: The truth is sometimes bitter. I was having lunch with a friend in Toronto last week and he told me that emotions aside if they call an election he will vote the conservatives. Unfortunately from Nigeria nobody will understand as many want to move to Canada. I feel like the current Canadian government hasn't done much to address the housing crises. Ontario has a lot of land (bigger than Nigeria in land mass) but housing crises is crazy. I spent 4 months in an AirBnb at a rate of $2800 monthly. I got tired of using uber to go view condos. Many times I'd go view a condo I'll meet like 5 or 7 people viewing same apartment. I submitted multiple offers but got turned down. Landlords are smiling to the bank in GTA. My employer gave me a supporting letter still struggled through bidding war before one application was eventually accepted. I've been wondering why they don't construct more houses instead of fighting the source of the demand. More students and more immigrants will obviously need more housing. Doug Ford is frustrated. The mayor of Mississauga is also frustrated |

Don't go through Agents. Make the application yourself. Just bear in mind that your lack of travel will be a big hindrance to your visa issuance and it doesn't matter if your hosts have lived there for even 30years. Just ensure you have home ties like a very good job, business and family to return to. Good luck. lanre2009: Good day guys, my wife and children are planning on going on a visit to Canada. My sister in law and her family has been living in Canada for close to 15 years now and they are all citizens of Canada. She will be sending us an invitation letter for the journey. The issue now is that all our passports (Nigerian Passport) are virgin as we have never travelled out of Nigeria before. Will it be possible for us to process the travelling ourselves once we have the invitation letter or we should go through all these travel agents. We have the required proof of funds for the journey. All advice will be greatly appreciated |

Only one you know? Its over common now. It is not surprising. The world is becoming, increasingly selfish. Most times it is not about the love or lack of love they have for themselves. Its just that the transactional nature of marriages only starts to wane after 10 years together. At that stage, you are now used to your partner after living with him/her for that long. You get really attached. StagethemTVee: I know of a newly married couple with a baby who decided the wife should leave first and she wrote the man it was over after getting there. He is yet to get over it. |

what is the reason for the ban. You can challenge it. EMMYLODE: I got banned tonight and now inadmissible to Canada for the next 5 years. I am devastated. This is the saddest day of my life beside my father's death
I just got my cas for my admission in UK and at the stage to apply for study visa to UK having paid my tuition fees. I am considering requesting for refund of my fees but I see from the school site that there must be tangible reason to request for refund e. g Visa refusal, I have not been refused UK Visa yet because I have not even applied. Visa application fee is too high for an application that has very slim chances of success. It will be double pain to proceed with the Visa application and be rejected and the school seemingly not ready to make refund without a concrete reason.

what was the reason for refusal? i will advise you receive GCMS note before re applying. There seem to be so much money available to you as a family. Did you write a letter of explanation on the origin of the POF? gracefull: Hello everyone, I really need your suggestions. I applied for study visa for myself and VV tor my 4 kids (9,7,4 and 1) on the 4th September 2022, mine was approved on 28th September while my kids applications were all refused based on lack of financial assets. (POF was 36mil although 23mil was in my husbands company account and others spread across his 3 personal savings account). We reapplied on 28th October with more funds (42mil but we had recently moved 28million from company account to his personal savings account a week prior to this and had 14 million in his 2 personal savings accounts ) we also got a notarized letter of sponsorship stating that he will pay our bills. We got my youngest child on a daycare waitlist too. We got another set of refusals on 25th November. We have ordered for GCMS notes on Monday the 28th of November. Please when we are reapplying , what can we do differently. Should we include my husband in the new application? We didn’t include him in the first two applications because of the issue of home ties. What category of visa should we apply for him and our kids this time? What explanation can be used to demonstrate why the whole family is suddenly applying? ( I stated in the letter of explanation for the second refusal that he is very busy and travels a lot hence my decision to go with my kids). Thanks as i anticipate your response |

Take it one step at a time. Land, get jobs and then you can invite your parents. Trust me, most people don't know that POF goes down so fast because they don't expect the kind of costs they meet when they eventually land. Jay35: Hello Everyone,
Please I need help .. I have been having sleepless nights… planning my move to Canada is overwhelming! From finding accommodations to jobs …
I will be landing Canada with my family in January and I would love to apply for visit visa for my parent around late January to be of help with our new born.
My problem now is considering we don’t have jobs yet just our POF/ Savings can we act as sponsors? 1) How much Cad do we have to come with or show to make the application successful?
2) can my sibling in Nigeria act as sponsor for my parent to come and visit me in Canada? Ps: my parent is a civil servant so no much funds. Should my sibling transfer funds to my parents account as gift deed? Or provide his bank statement?
3) I would sincerely appreciate it if I can be added to any post ppr group or Alberta group as we will be landing / living there.
4) please do reach out if you’ve invited your parents .
Thank you very much for responding. |

Very good plan. So many people get carried away with the present forgetting that old age will come one day and guess what, the kids of these days that many of us are running kitikatakata for won't really have our time then. lanresz: I am not disputing your points. When I say an average Canadian is not bothered des not mean they should not be bother about saving for old age. Am I bothered for saving for old age? Absolutely.
We learn everyday. When I consider any job, pension is always a factor. I will check if the employer has rhe plan or not. If they don't, the offer must be good enough for me to be able to contribute more to my RRSP. I have never worked in a place where there os no matched contribution from employer. I worked for a provincial government for 13 years. Pension deduction was more 12% of gross income over those years matched by the employer.
If you work in a place with no pension plan, please contribute to your RRSP. Retirement savings and plans for old age is very important. |

It's not as if he can't have all that money, just that most times some of us are not truthful to ourselves. The way Canada is built, most people are meant to be average, and truth be told the majority of us will never get the 100k job but whatever you make you can be content with it and still live a good life. The only thing i find strange is that people insult Naija so much and yet most of the money they make is either through or from Nigeria. They fund contracts and do a whole lot of other things. I know someone who provides POF at 3-5% per month. some others do CAD/Naira exchange. Many are Immigration Advisers. Some others are still doing their Naija work and combining it with jobs in Canada. Many others have worked so long for oil companies and their gratuities and pension funds are mind-blowing. These guys don already soft from Naija before they went to Canada, so a down payment for a house is not an issue. The bottom line is that while many will be able to save, some won't be able due to the low earning power and high cost of living, but be consoled with the fact that you have your sanity in check and living in a very peaceful clime. I have traveled to many countries and lived in quite a few. Canada is one of the most expensive countries in the world, apart from maybe Switzerland and other countries I do not know of. just that Canada cushions the effect with handouts like Child benefits etc. Teachers in Ontario have gone on strike twice within the past month. Treadway: no blame me my guy. It would be foolhardy to believe every rubbish you read on social media. Cheers to more successes and wins bro.
Ps: CNBC suppose interview you oo if you have proof of the 120k (not even total earnings o, but house down payments only) in just 16mths in Canny. You don bench this lady wey make news headlines cos she save total 100k in 3.5 years in the USA by far. Seriously I would like to read your interview soon. That would be something

I have gone through these posts and my take is for guys who are lucky to earn up to $100k per annum, do not just focus on savings savings savings. Live life. Enroll your kids in extra curricula activities; Taekwando, Lawn Tennis, Swimming, etc. Travel, expose your kids to other countries. Give to charity, food banks, etc. You save and save and save and one day you die and strangers take all your stored wealth away. Some even earn 100k per annum and still go Queue up in Food banks just to collect free food. Some separate so as to collect more benefits from the Govt. Do not worry, Canada is not Nigeria where people worry, and some even steal to ensure their children's children are catered for. I have met many Nigerians abroad who know only how to work and save, nothing else. In the end, the stress of all that work leads to a breakdown in marriages, and disappointment in old age. |

Eye dey clear people when their relations start switching off their phones on them. Na me dey beg people to move out and even reference people for their new landlords. Landlords are collecting 6-12 months rent straight in Ontario before giving out their apartments to people without a credit score and employment letter. Even at that, empty basement apartments without utilities are already CAD1800- CAD2000 except down town and south where people tend to share apartments and split bills. As someone who has lived in both countries i will recommend Netherlands without thinking twice. pansophist: With your Dutch resident permit, you can visit additional 50 countries without a visa spread across Europe, Asia, the Americas, and Africa. Also, Netherlands is built in such a way that you do not need a car. Unlike Canada, where having a car is a must. Just have your monthly travel card and you can visit the whole country unlimitedly. Compare to Canada, Netherlands is lively. Canada is really a lonely place, people hardly mix, forget the diversity rubbish, its all advertisement.
If you have kids, then you must choose the Netherlands. ''Helicopter parenting'' that is prevalent in North America is not here, and society and laws are structured in a way that encourages kid's independence. Kids as young as four go to school with their bikes unsupervised, you'll be free as a parent to do other things unlike Canada where letting your kids as free here can make the government take your kids away from you. Also in Just two hours from Rotterdam, you are in Paris, one hour to Antwerp, and flying around Europe is cheaper than going to Abuja by bus. It is common for Europeans to travel to another country during the weekend, personally, I visit at least 20 destinations annually, within Europe, Africa, and the middle east, yes flying is that cheap. Check out ryanair.com, or wizzair.com, you will see flights as cheap as 10 USD both ways.
See, matter plenty. But if you minus English, I honestly don't see why you will choose a deep freezer over the Netherlands. I was there for a friend's wedding, thinking I would migrate, but men, spending a month there was enough condition that where I am is better. But it is just my opinion, yours may be different. |
