I got a visitor visa done by an agent and during the application he filled in my education history that i have Bsc certificate at uniben but this is so untrue although he didn’t submit any certificate to prove that for my application. Now I want to apply for a closed work permit, and the only certificate i have is SSCE, do u think I stand a chance of approval? Due to my previous application of the vv ? |

Just like when we were growing up. Some parents didn't want their kids to get "spoilt" and enrolled them in an all-girls school. The rest is history. |

That is exactly my point. I overheard conversations between my kid and a friend he invited to the house. At some point, I wanted to intervene but he told me not to. He stopped the kid from coming to the house. Both are 10-11yrs old kids and are in catholic schools. NuCypher: Illusion. LQBTQIA+ free, and you think your kid is totally immune from it in a Canadian society? I'm waiting for the time they'll stop dreaming. Nigerians need a lot of growing up to do! |

You are right. My 221G was mainly because i went to U.S twice and stayed just one day for both travels. I was given travel history form for 10yrs and eventually my visa was approved after 3 months. Eriokanmi: You're kinda worried about your situation. You need to be calm. Refusal under 221g via IW or other means isn't a denial. It simply means they need some clarification on your proposed visit and to do this, you'd have a date with a consular officer in a face-to-face interview. 90% of the time, 221g situation results in approval of a visa. A lot of factors could be responsible for this. If you overstayed during your previous trips, you'd need to explain why. If you gave birth with your B1/B2 visa, you'd need to show up for an interview and explain why. You may be asked to show proofs you paid in full and you didn't enjoy any support to offset your bills, e.g, health insurance or other means. If your purpose of visit isn't cleanly defined in your DS160 too, you'd need to provide details.
Guy, your passport will be sent back to you, wait for it. Under 221g, one cap doesn't fit all so, every applicant is treated on a case by case basis. A letter will accompany your passport which contains different refusal reasons. The VO who adjudicated on your case would tick the reason you were refused and what you need to do next...some, only DS160 and appointment printout page with passport will be requested to be brought during the interview. To others, medical bills , letters and other documents will be requested. Some parents couid be asked for finger printing of their child as well.
A refusal under 221g( administrative processing) doesn't mean you weren't qualified for IW. If you weren't qualified, you wouldn't have received an approval mail to submit your documents to a DHL office with a date in the first place. When you chose IW on the cgi portal, you received a notification that your application would be reviewed and if approved, you'd receive a mail to schedule a date for doc submission, which you did, right? A robot didn't send that approval mail, neither was it an auto response so, that's a proof you qualified for the IW.
My cousin just called. He attended his follow-up appointment yesterday. In the 221g letter which accompanied his passport, he was instructed to only print his DS160 confirmation page, bring the 221g letter, his passport and his follow-up appointment letter for his appointment. The VO didn't ask much questions after the exchange of greetings. He only asked for his passport and...how long are you staying? His visa was approved. He said to me one thing, which I'd like to draw the attention of those with 221g to. He said he checked ceac website weeks after his refusal in March and realised its been updated twice despite being refused. This seems to me that 221g isn't a total denial as many may have thought. They need to check some other things about the applicant which could mean going as far as their home office to fetch some information about you and as they're doing that, they're updating your status. He was refused in March but His status was updated 5th April and 26th April respectively and he saw the first follow-up appointment dates as released the following day, being 27th meaning, ( in my opinion though), they were done with the administrative processing and he should now pick a date for his follow-up interview. He missed that slot as all the dates had disappeared by the time he checked later. He saw the date again this week and booked 4th May He said he kept checking the ceac and cgi randomly in case the status would change to something else, despite being refused, only to discover a change in the date twice
My candid advice...especially fist time applicants, always use your visa for the purpose it was meant, to avoid administrative processing or any form of delay when it's time for your visa renewal. Drop box is a great opportunity which would take a lot of stress and anxiety off your neck so always take advantage of this by playing by embassy's visa rules, now that they're issuing 5 years...that's a lot. Only Canadian embassy had done that once and it was 4 years, Germany did that to me once as well, on a renewed passport. They said I don't have to always come to them, based on my application history. The drop box I had enjoyed for nearly 20 years now, hitch-free. I don't need to see most embassy's faces....just by simply playing by their rules.
Good luck to all in my cousin's shoes. |

Landing gist dey only sweet express entry people and students who are leaving Naija for the first time. People who have been separated from their spouses for over three-four years and have traveled to other countries previously would not be so excited about landing gist. Toceen2022: Why is it so difficult to get a landing gist on this very SOWP group. With a lot of SOWP approval for couples and families, people should try as much as possible to drop landing gist. The way we all ask questions now and then when processing our application, let's drop information about what was required at the port of entry as well.
The fact is, what officers ask at the port of entry from someone with study permit is totally different from someone with Work Permit and Visit Visa... So, make we dey drop landing gist for SOWP as well. It's not good to just ghost because application has been approved and we've received our stamped passport. Make we do well I beg! |

You might receive a 5years ban if not answered satisfactorily. Good luck. I agree with you. My last paid job was around N2.5m per month and that was in 2018. Even though i do not work yet in Canada but my spouse does and soon i will as well. I still think we live a better life now unlike before. The bills were too much in Naija; Driver, Nanny, Dogs, Estate Security, Diesel for Gen etc. atutupoyoyo2211: You are partially right. I say partially because, yes the standards of living are very different, the value of the currency are also very different. But if i use my self as an example, after paying my rent and other bills, I can still save about 55% to 60% of my monthly net income. Meaning, in a year I can save an equivalent of about 40m. If I use your own example, it means I can almost build that 25m house twice in about a year in Nigeria, and conveniently still have a mortgage here. So when you say, I may not be living as well as those in Nigeria, I beg to differ. Cos in addition to all that, in canada roads are good, light and water is available, security is guaranteed to an extent. You can't say that about Nigeria. |

There are a whole lot of crises in Ontario Housing. A landlord told me he had to put up his tenanted house for sale because his monthly mortgage moved from $5700 to about $7400 a month. He tried to increase the total rent he gets from the house to $6400 the tenants are resisting. Most newcomers especially if you were paying N300K PER ANNUM ($450) for an apartment in Mowe, find it incredible to believe that you can pay $2000 a month for an apartment. It only begins to make sense when you start earning in Canada, which could take up to 3-6 months. So it is a big problem letting to new comers. mrkenth: Hello house .. please I need help .. If it's a registered IRCC agent or immigration lawyer i will advise you to continue with them. If you feel you are knowledgeable enough about the process you can do it yourself. deebee13: Hello everyone,
Please I have a few questions, and I'm hoping someone here can help me out please.
I recently just got PPR for study visa, to resume in May. I used an agent, and was told my 10month old baby's application wasn't approved, and they're about to apply for a reconsideration.
These agents have always wasted a lot of time, even after I gave them all the documents they requested for, and that's why I couldn't make September 2022 intake nor January 2023 intake.
I'm having second thoughts using them for the applications of my husband and two sons (4 and 6 years old).
My husband and sons were used as my home tie, so I'm worried about how to navigate that detail if I chose to do their application myself.
Also, is it okay to apply for them now before I leave for Canada in April?
Thank you (in anticipation) |
