You seem to have a strong application here. All the best.
Teslas:
Thanks for this and to answer the question in respect to home ties.

1. She is married with kid
2. She has a property - Finished and another ongoing property projects- Pictures of the finished property will be included and the ongoing property details will be included with receipts, designs, approval and all on the ongoing property.
3. Her family pictures, marriage certificates (Islam and court certificates), her child certificate, Newspaper for the marriage name
4. Employment is also the home tie,
5. Landed properties - 2 - undeveloped
6. Vehicle registration documents.
7. Letters of recommendation from community leaders.

I know this is not a requirement - I intend to purchase a flexible and open ticket for her - 6 months ahead and if anything changes on the application then i will used the ticket myself by change of name with same date and same route. She will be going back home and no japa in her own case.

Lastly, kindly advise on what you think can be added to support the application.

First question, apart from money and employment what home ties does your sister have? The chances of your mum being approved are high and your sister being denied are also high. Not due to any fault of yours but most young people that come on visit visas do not go back again so they are also being cautious in dishing out visas to people who will overstay and eventually file for asylum.
Teslas:
Hello Debiee,

Sorry about your sister refusal.

Please did they use invitation letter from someone in Canada for their application?
Is your sister married with kids?
Is she going as accompany person to your mom?
Did she submit her statement of account?

Please i need a guide as i am planning similar applications for my sister. Plan is to put her as accompany person to my mom
Mom has been to US before, just once to visit my elder brother and renewed the visa on her second passport - She has valid US visa.
Sister is married with a kid - Travel to Benin (Twice), Togo (Once) and Ghana (Twice). She is employed with a monthly salary of about 1.5m and has over 20m in account. She has all documents from her company, and she can get letter from her boss. She also has a shop of her own where she has people to manage and only go there on weekend. the shop is registered under CAC. She has all the family pictures, her property and building projects. I will be giving them both invitation letters, my statement of account and all documents. I am a PR holder in Canada works in a good company and i also have my personal company registered here in Canada and properties as well. I am confident on my mom because of her valid US visa but a bit skeptical about my sis and i am also confused if i should submit separately or together as a group with my sister accompanying my mom. Please what can you advise.

Please Nairalanders, What can you all advise

Thanks in advice.

People even working cannot even live well again not to talk of working and paying school fees.

I see many folks who parents sent to Canada some 3-6 years ago all in limbo now either because they refused to go to school, some worked full time instead of going to school while some others only missed a semester or two of school. IRCC now refusing their PGWP. Their parents had good intentions of sending them to school abroad but finances dipped after the economic crises and forex crises in Nigeria.

we operate like Leopards while they operate like lions in a pride. 3 Indian families plus grandparents can stay in a house so they can pay off the mortgage faster and also buy more. Ordinary 9ja mother in law staying 6 months the opposite spouse is already frowning 😂
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Worker Program - Connect Here Part 11 by megastu(m): 2:34am On Dec 30, 2024
nice post but to correct "people don't look to profit off others" they look for next means of survival. The way you got a good job, the man offering you room for 800 probably has a mortgage of 3k to pay and does not or was not lucky to get a good job as you did. You get it?
tshtsh:

I'll also add that the skills/strategies required to thrive in Nigeria is quite different from what is required to thrive in Canada. People have different reasons for moving to Canada and the hardship people face at first is usually compounded by lack of understanding of the system. No amount of preparation may prepare you for some of the things you'll encounter but if you remain strong, you'll thrive.
When I moved here in 2022 my biggest fear was the job market hence I got a job in my field before landing. Close to my travel date, I found it hard finding anyone to accommodate me for the first two weeks. Friends in Canada who stayed at my apartment in Lagos each time they visited kept telling me how their house was full and all. I didn't understand because in Nigeria I accommodate people (friend of brother, friend of friend, sibling of friend...) hence I didn't think in the line of air bnb. When I arrived I noticed how heavily indebted people were. Even the whole "I bought a house" is different from home purchase in Nigeria as I knew it. Some people buy a house via mortgage and rent out all spare rooms. That was something new to me. Same people whose homes were full later offered me spot in their home for $800 or $1000 a month when they noticed that I actually had a job in Canada. Its a brutal system where people look to profit off others irrespective of the situation. I remained strong, stayed in that air bnb, built my credit and eventually moved into a condo. The rental market was very competitive then and nobody was willing to rent to me as a newcomer with no credit history. Hence I advice people to not be too quick to re-connect with old foes or make friends. After sometime, newcomers will understand the system and find it easier to thrive

he actually did research and couldn’t find much online as its a new school. Most international students just want to japa by any means. They don’t care if the schools are lowly ranked, if you have previous work experience from your home country you would still get a job after studies. But with the current immigration wahala over 1.2m people have no pathway permanent residency and are expected to leave by 2025. Instead of gambling with a low grade MBA just go learn French or enter pool since his occupation is in demand.

Just go for insurance and leave investment. If you are wealthy enough yes. I think this issue has been overflogged. Agents are not wicked, we tend to run down our own people over. I believe they also have regulators and Govt will not approve licence to any scheme that is not genuine.
I also did insurance with a little investment tied cos the risk i want to insure against is dying before 65. If i do my family gets insurance, if i don't i get all my investment cash value and enjoy life cos my then all my kids would have been working and also doing well.

Oh i get you. No mind them. Just do insurance and leave investments. Who never chop dey invest?
seunpinky:

Exactly the purpose of insurance is to take care of loved ones in the case of a mishap to the policy holder, hence a basic temporary life insurance would suffice and cater for this. However, the insurance we are talking about in this context is those sellling permanent life insurance (whole life and universal life) these products are hybrid ( having a combination of insurance and investment).

Temporary life costs $40 per month ( insurance only)
Whole life costs $300 per month ( insurance and investment). The selling point to convince you to buy whole life are ( you are investing alongside being covered, you can borrow from your investment in the future tax free).

The average Canadian only needs a temp life insurance, while the rich Canadian can afford to get the perm life as they would have exhausted the other tax free investment options such as tfsa, RESP, RRSP, RPP)

Ask yourself, how many new Nigerian immigrant have exhausted the govt tax free govt investment options. You have a tfsa limit of 7,000 per year which can be rolled over (if you have spent 3 years in Canada as a PR your tfsa limit would be 21,000), you have 2,500 RESP per child per year, you might even have up to a max of 31,560 RRSP limit.

These guys bursted my door recently. Fortunately i was in the living room, i change am for them. They eventually ran and we called 911. Police came, reviewed CCTV but didn't really do anything. Just advised we contact our insurance company. We have since changed the door to a bigger, stronger one. Yes, Brampton.
ednut1:
in addition they have been bringing some of their cultures to Canada which doesn’t make sense.

There are videos/ articles online showing some of these below

1. Renting a 3 bedroom basement to 6-12 people ( i rode my bicycle past Brampton recently and most of the houses have 5-6 cars on the driveway/road) . Brampton mayor recently introduced a program to checkmate this. Landlords protested.

2. Bragging and encouraging fellow students to go storm food banks.

3. Indian descent politicians carrying khalistani/ hindu/silk matter to the parliament. NDP leader is a silk, conservative deputy leader is also a silk both sympathetic to khalistani.

4. Employing only their own people in the gas stations, trucking , fast food, hotels they own.

5. Catching migrating salmon illegally

6. Allegedly sh**ting in some beaches ( later debunked)
7. Crossing the rail tracks at union station in mass.

8. Filling for false asylum in response to the changing immigration rules.

9. Selling trucking training schools certificate to people who didn’t do the training. Thereby endangering lives

There are other immigrants in the country but too many bad eggs has turned all the attention on them.

I am still not convinced. Is the purpose of insurance to make money or to take care of loved ones in the event of Mishap of the policy holder (In most cases, the breadwinner)?
seunpinky:
Id nothing happens in the duration then your policy is gone. If something happens to you even the next day after your policy is perfected, your family gets cover- $500k, $1m or even $1.5m depending on your coverage. Let us educate people rightly.

There is a reason why Gofundme becomes the only way when some of our people met unfortunate and untimely death.

You may loose your money in several ways:
1. If you decide to stop contributing to the policy before the 20 years period mark or whatever period that’s stated in your policy.
2. You may not get full value for money due to the high insurance fees when compared to investing your money in the govt investment options.

The problem with sexual toys is that she will enjoy it for a while but after she will be seeking the real thing and then could give in to temptation. If the husband is not coming anytime soon they should just divorce so she does not feel guilty about satisfying her sexual urge elsewhere.
kushe:
Jesus told the woman caught in the act of adultery "neither do I condemn you " which means he doesn't condemn you even if you have engaged in the usage of sexual experience enhancers or even in the act of adultery.
He created the universe and knows our shortcomings hence his sacrificing himself for all our sins, past, present and future.
Get intimate with Christ through the knowledge of his word and the more you know him,the less the gravitational pull of sin as you ascend in righteousness.
The pull of sin doesn't disappear cos we are still on this side of eternity, but remember that even if you fall, the one that died for you and who only is qualified to judge you says he doesn't condemn you.
Hebrews 4:16 encourages us to approach our heavenly father with boldness in our low and vulnerable times cos it is where we both receive his mercy for wrongs done and grace to help surmount our future mountains.

I have been around for too long to believe that people always do what they say. Even you typing this will cheat if your husband/wife leaves you for 3-5yrs. Some do it after 6 months of absence, some 1 year and others 5 years depending on the temptation thrown around you. The bible asked us to get married to avoid temptation yet you will marry and abandon your spouse in another country and go to hustle. what do you think will happen? some go as far as putting the spouse in their parents' house. While this might be good for creating things to do and people to spend time with, it reduces the urge but eventually, the urge will envelop you.

immortalcrown:
Self control is among the qualities of a Christian. Control yourself until your husband is available for you.

As long as the sexual pleasure does not come from your husband, you are cheating on him and committing adultery. It doesn't matter whether the cheating is with another man or with a gadget. You sharing your husband's entitlement with a gadget is the same as sharing the entitlement with another man.

In conclusion, seeking or getting sexual satisfaction from any source (even masturbation) other than from your spouse is a sin. In fact, using an intimacy gadget is a higher level of masturbation.

NOTE:
What applies to wives applies to husbands in this case. There is no double standards in Christianity.

For those who will want to challenge my comment, remember that my response is from a Christian perspective because the post is about a Christian. I responded with what is biblically right. I responded with what is expected of a Christian. So, as you disagree with my comment, remember that the topic is about Christian life.

Just stay on the right side of the law pal, them no dey hear 'Abeg" here oh.

Afolavid:

I almost called you Karen, but that won't be befitting. Maybe Kevin!

Police control the MDTs in their vehicles while they drive, but they don't do it in an unsafe manner. So according to your analysis, once they take a peek at their MDTs which are usually on their right, they are automatically considered to be engaging in distracted driving.?

Stop hyper-extending things, all the rules you quoted up there state that if it is a hand-held device, and go on to mention that if it's a screen it has to be attached to the vehicle's system and so on... The way he occasionally looks at his camera is the same way you'd occasionally turn your head to the right/left periodically when you drive. Again, as long as you're not holding your phone, you are not watching a video, your eyes are on the road, you're in full control of the vehicle and you can operate your tech with voice commands, what exactly is illegal here? Are there safer ways to make that video? Yes! he can make that video when he's not behind the wheel. But does that mean what he did is illegal? No! It's extremists like you that build fear in new immigrants when they arrive.
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Worker Program - Connect Here Part 11 by megastu(m): 2:56pm On Oct 18, 2024
I hate it when people say wrong things and justify wrong doings with so much confidence.

What the man did is wrong, and he knows. It is worse in Ontario, you cannot do a video recording for Youtube while driving.

A dashcam records events on the road or in your car that could be called up in an insurance defense case or on a charge of accident by fault. Oga, that has lived in different provinces. If it is a norm/your choice in Ontario does not mean it is right. Attend a Provincial offenses court hearing and you will know that things we take for granted are being penalized daily.

Afolavid:
Y'all should remember that Canada is very big. There are so many provinces and territories and the most important part is that there are different rules and laws in those provinces. If the person in the video is in Ontario, which is most likely the case here, there is no big deal in what he did but if it's in Alberta, he'd likely get pulled over by a cop.

Having lived in different provinces, I can tell you there are so many rules/laws in your province that are nonexistent in some other provinces. For example, tinted front windows are not allowed in BC, on no condition. Whereas, it's a norm/your choice in Ontario. Someone who lives in BC might say this in a way that suggests it's a general Canadian thing but it's not, it's just a pronvincial thing and vice versa.
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Worker Program - Connect Here Part 11 by megastu(m): 2:52pm On Oct 18, 2024
Lets not be supporting rubbish. That is distracted driving. A split second of your eyes away from the road can lead to a fatal accident. which one is both hands are on the steering. Na all these excuses carry us reach where we dey so as a people, and people are still supporting and justifying traffic violations.

Below are exerpts from Ontario Traffic Laws.

1. Ontario’s distracted driving laws apply to the use of hand-held communication/entertainment devices and certain display screens.

While you are driving, including when you are stopped in traffic or at a red light, it is illegal to:

use a phone or other hand-held wireless communication device to text or dial – you can only touch a device to call 911 in an emergency
use a hand-held electronic entertainment device, such as a tablet or portable gaming console
view display screens unrelated to driving, such as watching a video
program a GPS device, except by voice commands
You are allowed to use hands-free wireless communications devices with an earpiece, lapel button or Bluetooth. You can view GPS display screens as long as they are built into your vehicle’s dashboard or securely mounted on the dashboard.

Other actions such as eating, drinking, grooming, smoking, reading and reaching for objects are not part of Ontario’s distracted driving law. However, you can still be charged with careless or dangerous driving.

2. You could face more charges – for careless driving – if you endanger other people because of any kind of distraction. This includes distraction caused by both hand-held (e.g., phone) or hands-free (e.g., Bluetooth) devices.

If convicted of careless driving, you may receive:

six demerit points
fines up to $2,000 and/or
a jail term of six months
a licence suspension of up to two years
You could even be charged with dangerous driving – a criminal offence that carries heavier penalties, including jail terms of up to 10 years for causing bodily harm or up to 14 years for causing death.

Pls I want to ask sir/maa how true it is or what should I do.
2nd question: on that same Biodata form there is a place where they mention if I have National identity document number I tick No but last week I was discussing with my friend abt it and she said the national identity document they are referring to is the same as my NIN number in my International passport but have already tick no wen filling the form. Pls is it the same thing and if is d same wot should I do.
