Politics › Why Igbo Votes Might Not Help Agbaje. by mekaboy(op): 12:48pm On Mar 04, 2019 |
I will advice agbaje to focus more in Yoruba votes than igbos votes, for the following reasons.
1) the problem of igbos in Lagos was not Tinubu but Buhari. The conflict of interest was that Tinubu really needed buhari to win with a wide margin in his base. Unfortunately The igbos are not the ones he can buy with bullion vans, and the education and exposure of residents in Lagos won't let them vote for bullion van. So he managed to buy some voters, add that to those that wanted to keep Osibanjo and then those who believe in Yoruba presidency 2023. At the end of the day the margin was not wide enough. So the main problem was selling buhari to Lagosians.
2) Igbo businessmen in Lagos were not comfortable with Ambode. Both in development and his attitude towards there business. Tinubu knew that if Ambode face Agbaje in the elections, igbos will vote Agbaje 100%, adding that to the number of Yorubas not satisfied with his performance, APC would have lost. Removing Ambode, calmed the nerves of Igbos. Seeing sanwolu a new face, they won't have much aggression towards him, as they have not given him a try.
3) it's easier to get igbos to vote sanwolu than Ambode. So by changing Ambode, Tinubu has reduced agbajes igbo votes by up to 70%. Igbos never had issues with sanwolu, the issue was tinubu trying to force buhari down their throats, because they are in Lagos. Now that the presidency is over. 50% of igbos in Lagos will not be interested in voting. This is an advantage for sanwolu. The remaining 50% will be shared, and sanwolu could get more than 30%. First because ambode was removed, secondly because this is his first time and they are willing to give him a try.
So Agbaje should focus more on yoruba votes, and add whatever is left of the igbos votes. |

kernniejay: You igbos cannot allow Fulanis to settle among you peacefully, but the yoruba's allow you igbos to settle in Lagos and now you have mouth to talk rubbish and call Lagos no man's land. You even claim that you guys develop Lagos. Let the Fulanis help you develop your own state too and watch it become a "No man's land" too...simple.
Yorubas, you guys too dey accept nonsense that other tribes cannot accept, that is why they are calling your land "no man's land". How many times have igbos kidnapped yorubas like olu falae, drag him on the ground, burn his farm and collect ransom to release him? |

OgundeleT: he was accepted in APC because no law says you must not accept some people in you party. political party isn't a secret cult. APC put him where in belong in 2015 and that is why he lost the primary election despite having dollars in his stock. So APCs way of fighting corruption is by making a thief loose primaries? Mace0lane: Mekaboy : Everyday on NL one encounter one foolish thread from Igbos supporting PDP claim what their forefathers never achieved. They claim they own Lagos, the Yorubas are agberos n all that and even more absurd n lunatic rant etc.
Buhari as proven the Igbo voting strength is as worthless as the Ibibios politically in Nigeria. No disrespect to the ibibios but, with all the hullabaloo of this supporters after loosing the presidential election so shamelessly with the Atikuloot mantra they have switch to Lagos to continue to make their unending foolish noise online.
To put an end to their noise I suggest Jimi select an Igbo deputy so Igbos supporting PDP can be eternally put to shame or how do one explain that with all their noise they are not considered worthy as deputy which is of no significance in Nigeria polity ?
Igbo noisemakers on NL that ignored the failure Ikpeazu Ugwauyi Umahi without a single signature project to their name but dwell on the politics of other state to lament n wail the sorrows of the lives.
Can yo list how many schools hospitals bridge roundabout flyovers underpass factory constructed by the trio Igbo failures they adhore in Biafra ? How come you can't make other states like Lagos since it was purely Yoruba effort that made lagos what it is today?
How come the Yoruba billionaires and richest yorubas made their money from oil and Gas in the Niger delta?

Liar. Adenuga has 6 oil blocks in Niger delta. No Yoruba billionaire made money outside oil. Glo was registered in 2003 while conoil was registered in 1984. Ifeanyi uba brought his money and built a tank farm. He did not explore oil. He only provided storage facility for government. Even otedola. All Yoruba billionaire made Money from oil. That is why they lick the ass of the North, to use their power to protect their oil interest in the Niger delta . That is why they will sabotage the interest of the south for selfish interest.
