My dependant can use Tourist visa for 2weeks
Like I quoted you before now. The maximum extendable limit is 6months. My class mate came with her 7years old son. The UK embassy here allowed them to add the son on her UK visa application earlier this month. Now she plans on dropping her son off in the UK when she visits. Currently she already submitted an appeal to grant her son more months as thesame with her permit, but the application is still in process. The UK stuff is her second option. Na Indian girl sha..
You can apply to UK schools my guy, freestyle Mauritius

She's Pregnant and in her 6th Month
Ohh she will be due for delivery before your visa is out.. you have to relax and have your baby first before travelling to any country. Even UK will be difficult as she will be due before your visa comes out. Shift your travelling till next year and help your wife out as its her first time... I wish you well....

Hello Mekanta7
I really want to appreciate you for all the useful information you've shared in this forum

I have applied to Polytechnic Mauritius i was asked to Certify my documents which i have done and submitted back ,
I was asked to pay the following

Application fee 100 usd non refundable ,
Administrative fee 1000usd
School Fee 4000 usd

The issue i am having now is about dependant Se what the school wrote to me " Kindly note that as a student you are not allowed to have a dependent on your student visa
If your wife has a work permit then only she can work in Mauritius
.
"

Seriously this is a Problem to me we just newly wedded i am 29yrs she's 24yrs in her 2nd Trimester(Pregnancy)

Mekanta7 i need your advice
Guys i need your advice

Thanks
Polytechnic Mauritius, I guess you're going for Nursing Program, that's nice. Your dependant will be on tourist visa most times which has a maximum duration of 6months. Within this months, you can file a legal case to allow her stay.
The pregnancy stuff, do you mean that she's pregnant? If yes, how many months old.

I do have an Invite. Thank you very much bro. Very appreciated
For your IV to be strong enough without scrutiny, the sender should attach his bank statement ( either with zero balance or with cash balance), his lease accommodation papers and his residential status.
Your proposed stay should not exceed 14days, ( don't worry, they will give you 3months with 30days stay )
Then you should have ties back in Nigeria.

It's fine! I'm just wondering if anyone has info of any known cases where the Visa was granted after reapplication despite an expired itinerary?
Itinerary is the least on the reasons for visa denials.
I could remember vividly my younger sister applied for SA visitors visa from their collection centre in Port harcourt, it took almost three months processing. Both the Itinerary and even date of return were no longer valid, and still her visa was granted.

I applied for SA visa 2 weeks ago.....
fastforward I picked up my passport after 5days and 4months visa sticker ... ( not in Nigeria though )

Your purpose of visit is the main area of concentration.
If you have an invite, the IV should be strong enough.

U have done well, brother, mekanta7 to the world.

I will like to make the enquiry,

1, with a waec dated 2011 can one apply for admission.

2, what are the minimal year for a diploma course @ Mauritius.

3, is there a diploma course for nursing.

4, A person with experience in hospitality industry,
both eatery work and hotelier, what diploma course do u suggest for the person

5, After getting to Mauritius through self funded, can work and study sustainable for a student to pay school fees and other stuff without getting money back home.

6, I will be glad to know the link or website to explore different schools and courses of options in Mauritius.

7, I will be glad to hear from you, also any one can quote and help me out with this enquiry..

More blessings for all of us
1. Yes
2. 1, 2 or 3years programs
3. Yes check Polytechnic Mauritius
4. Hospitality Management
5. Firstly before you come, you must have paid most of your fees, the balance can be paid from your hustle here.
6. Use your Google

Generally, if you're doing a Hospitality course, you will have more free time to work extra hours and end more money. But if you're doing Nursing, you won't get enough time, your hustle can only cover your rent and upkeep only.
Merci

I understand you bro thanks.

What I means is this , after studies in Mauritius, how can one move to Europe , Canada etc.
You have to get a job in Mauritius after your studies. with your contract offer, you will get an occupation permit which allows you to work and live in Mauritius for a specific years. With this permit you can apply for your visa.
It's thesame with other EUROPEAN countries, you can't finish your studies immediately and then try to japaa... who does that huh? Its not possible in any country.
It's either you start the process before your visa nears 3months to expire or you wait till you get another permit.

Please can you break this down for easy understand.... I would appreciate if you do ...tha KS a lot
When applying for visa to another country, your permit must be valid for atleast 3months ahead. Unless you're applying for an immigrant visa.

I just got an unconditional offer for 1 year IFP in Middlesex University Mauritius, autumn start… I’m to make a deposit of £2000 before the school will process my visa, total tuition fee is £4000 for the program… I’m sponsoring myself and I’m a tech guy, my question is will I be able to get job to sustain me over there? I only have #3M to pay initial deposit, process
visa and flight can I get a job to cover my expenses and how soon can I get a PT job as a web developer?
No... you cannot make enough money to cover for your expenses. As a full-time student, I doubt if you can make half of your expenses after deducting your living expenses from your supposed salary.

The average salary in Mauritius is 15000 rupees na for full time job, so if student can even struggle to get a full time job, he or she cannot make more than 20000 rupees per month. The money is OK overthere because cost of living is not high like Nigeria, but to have enough to save, I doubt unless after the whole course.
I don't know how to explain this... it's obvious you're not in Mauritius so it's gonna be hard for you to understand.
A student working purely part time will find it difficult to earn above 15k rupees..
I also stand to quote you that me and my other Nigerian guy working in thesame restaurant got salary above 22k rupees.
When you pull more hours, you can get a double pay...
Also try to work all 4 Sundays in a month because you get paid double of your salary per hour on Sundays..
Avoid jobs with basic salary...
Then if you have extra strength, you can get a casual night security job... your monthly earning multiplies...
But be watchful of your body system ...
Na person wey dey alive dey chop em moni

The highest monthly salary you can get in mauritius is about 150k as student, considering things are not expensive like Nigeria, you won't be able to save because your school fees and other expenses will take the whole money
Where did you get this info from?
Are you in Mauritius?

Nice thread but I still need you to answer the question that some people has asked in-here... Can someone survive with the salary from the students job and still save ?
Yes you can survive and save... only on one condition...
If only you paid your tuition fees in full...
Then you can make some savings..
You can't pay your tuition fees with your salary... it's nearly impossible... the jobs here are so demanding.. mostly hospitality jobs

Hello guys..... Happy New year

Sorry I've been working my ass out, December holidays we work full time and extra hours to get more cheques lol... This country is just good at spending money... 100% luxury.. most times I do ask my mauritian colleagues at work ' who are these jobless people spending money like they gonna die soon ' lol... Too many tourists, most of them speak French making it difficult to differentiate between Mauritian and tourist. Most of the Europeans moved in here on settlement plan.
Schools will be resuming next week... then we go back to 25hrs a week slot. During this holiday, I did 73hrs a week. It wasn't easy o... but when you receive your pay cheque, you smile like bubu

Can one get MSc with 3rd class?
Also If one studied a science related course will they admit one for any of these tourism courses?
I don't really know about this, write your preferred school for inquiry.
As for tourism courses, you can take up a diploma or bsc course.

Are there student jobs all year round or only during summer?
Yes you can apply with your resume attached.
Yes you can sponsor yourself.
Their are jobs around the year, just that It can get too cold during the winter.
