I want to reapply next month and I want to use the keep my passport option. My question is ... If I get notification to send my passport, can I courier it from outside of the country to TLS and back to where I am ? |
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by mekanta7(m): 10:43am On Jun 29, 2023 |
Atinukemi23: You get email from the UKVI with the reason(s) for the refusal attached. Then you get an email from the TLS it could be couple of days after telling you, your passport is ready for pick up and if you choose to have your passport delivered by the courier you get your dhl tracking number attached to it. So the rejection email comes first ? |

Please fam, I recently applied for a 2year visa, I used my uncle as sponsor, he gave me his company account bank statement with reference letter from bank which has a busy running credit and debit transactions but the closing balance is not upto 3M. Though on the statement, last day opening balance was upto 9M but before they end of the day when the statement was printed, the balance came down below 3M. On his sponsorship letter, he pledged 1.4M on my travel expenses. It's my second application, I've been to UK once. Hope this won't affect my application. |

narpheesarh: Thanks to everyone who answered my questions as regards my brother's visit visa application. He has been granted. Submitted all University related evidence and his bank statement highlighting the funds he receives from parents and siblings.
Another question please. If my outward journey to the UK is through KLM (Amsterdam) and inward back to Nigeria is via Air France (paris). Will I need an airport transit visa or a short stay schengen visa? Its a bit confusing, considering I have to pass through 2 different airports. Anyone with transit visa experience please.thanks You're good to fly, so far You're not transiting more than 2 schengen zones. My experience last December while flying from Heathrow to Mauritius: I was bound Hthw - Amsterdam - Paris - MUR (kLM/ AirFrance) On boarding at Heathrow Airport, the staff asked me if I have another passport, I said nope, na so she carry my passport komot enter inside room to confirm if I fit fly across, after confirming, na so she come back board me o.. say make I dey enter flight no shaking.. On getting to Amsterdam, layover was 10hrs overnight, and at then, they never display our next boarding gate. Na so guy man sleep for airport. Fast forward, when my boarding gate later show, e come be say I gats pass immigration to cross over before getting to the gate, na so I reach immigration, then look my passport, tell me say I no fit cross, say I dey enter schengen zone. I explained to the officer, na so em carry my passport enter inside office, call their oga, still come out tell me say e no go work, say make I fly back to UK or make KLM redirect my flight from Amsterdam to MUR, omo I wan mad. Na so I go KLM counter, go give report give them, They come redirect my flight. I flew back to UK. From UK, I fly go France, from France I fly enter Mauritius. So hence you're not transiting more than 2 schengen zones, you won't pass immigration, you're good to fly. |

hunee: I know. I gave that explanation for proper clarity, it seem like so many travelers do not know the consequences of over staying what you wrote on the form, ONLY , if ECOs overlook. Always abide by what you wrote. So you're saying that in my case, I over stayed ? |

alert20: This is true, but we are just trying to correct some applicants intention of overstaying what you wrote on the form.... Please note ukvi said you can stay for up to 6months on a visit visa, but as an employee does it makes sense to stay away from work for a whole 4months when the job is not a remote job..
I come in peace ✌️✌️ Actually I'm not an employee, rather am a student. An undergraduate student. So i went there during the time I'm supposed to do my internship. |

hunee: Their is period of stay, Their is visa validity.
Please read visa conditions carefully.
If you are allowed maximum stay for 10 days, do not exceed it. If your visa conditions allows you for 3 month on a single entry, you can stay uptill 3 month but do not exceed it.
The conditions for every granted permit is always stated in the sticker, including your number of entries e.g 1 - meaning single, Go and come back, with no opportunity to go again, you have to re apply OR M - Go and come back multiple times within a stipulated period.
The argument should be you said 2weeks, and stayed 4months. Did your visa condition allow you ?
We should state facts rather than rigmaroling on issues. UK visitor visa is always 6 months multiple entry. At the point of entry, the border office stamps you in without any period of stay. |

Portlouis: Please check his initial posts on this thread. He started by convincing everyone that he ain't an agent. He was advising prospective students not to pay anybody for the process. That we should contact him so he can guide us on how to do it. I fell for it. When you contact him, he starts cajoling you, brainwashing you. He told me he is from my state of origin, went as far as giving me directions to his house in his home town. Is it the video calls? Mekanta, even you as a novice will fall for this guy. From claiming to guide you, he will start advising you to allow him get all the documents for you that it will be easier and 100% legit. Immediately you make payments to him, that's the end of your interactions with him until he sends you your visa rejection letter.
He is a very terrible agent. I will give him this piece of advice, Davous, if you want to be a good agent, stop snubbing your clients after they have made payments to you. Hahaha, you're making it sound a bit funny. I know you've healed though. I've been scammed twice my brother, and I know how it feels. I know if you had produced these documents yourself and still got denied, you won't have much of a doubt. It's well. I don't know if this your agent works at all in this Island, atleast his monthly salary should be enough to refund you for damages. |

Slimfeez: ..... I am a victim too, he swindle me with 250k.... The truth is, hes not helping matters, he lured people all in the name i will get all documents for you in Mauritius and nothing more, i have all proof that i will posted here come April 1st, Davous will never know peace. How on earth do people get scammed in an explicit travel thread like this. I explained everything from page 1 down here. On previous pages, I saw how people were rushing and asking to be added into groups, I just kept quiet. Some folks here messaged me and I answered them. I normally tell folks to browse and write schools directly. If you want someone's help, just know nothing comes for free, but still you should know when a person is fraudulent. |

Travel › Re: Mauritius Study And Work by mekanta7(op): 1:27pm On Mar 22, 2023 |
justwise: So according to you the visa was not denied as a result of fake documents but all the documents this scammer submitted did not belong to the applicant? so explain to me how that works.
This scammer clearly stated here that the applicant paid for those documents but somehow you did not see any problem with that? You know one thing with us is that when you tell men to pay application fee, they run away lol, so this agents changed the pattern to free admission so as to lure them in. This country do not verify documents. They work with what they have. When i created this thread, I stated documents for visa application. It's quite unfortunate that the visa was denied. I think fake documents worked for him earlier. It's only the new police certificate that can easily be verified, other documents I doubt. That's why when you come in here, you gats do another medical exam before you apply for permit. Just know that this money is gone... let him try to dialogue with him, let the agent reapply for him at later time when things gets back to normal. This is my suggestion though. Its well |

Portlouis: I told him I can send those documents from Nigeria via DHL to the school but this guy started preaching sermon, convincing me to let him do it from Mauritius that it will be time consuming if I send them. Also that he is a confirm school agent, any documents he sends to the school is unquestionable. You need to see how this guy was brainwashing me. He went as far as sending me pictures of a woman and a child claiming they are his wife and child residing in Nigeria. Baba story plenty jor. After he convinced me, he now went on to send fake admission letter, fabricated fake medical certificate, police character certificate, and bank statement. The accomodation kini he is talking about, I don't know anything about it.
If he is a true agent, why not collect the authentic documents from the client? Why fabricate such documents? Especially admission letter, medical and police certificate. He convinced me that it is 100% guaranteed. He made me pay in full for forged documents when there is no guarantee. Which agent does that?
Well, I have moved on since. I just raised the alarm so that others won't fall prey to his deceit. Davous, chop the money... I am bigger than 300k. Better days ahead. Hmmmm... What I can see here is that I think he did apply for the visa but it was denied. Secondly it wasn't denied on fake documents but due to clamp down recently happening in Mauritius. I think he do get away with such documents in the past. Let me explain some past and recent changes in Mauritius. Around September, I helped my 3 friends apply for visa, their file were sent back from the immigration twice because of incomplete documents. One has name error on his passport and waec, while the other was age error. They had to send affidavit to support the changes. The second time they sent it back again requesting for the new police clearance because they used the old one. So back then things were relaxed. This January another applied and got denied without reason. When I tried to resend his new documents to school, I was informed that they no longer issue visas to Nigerians at the moment. What I'm trying to say is that if you application was submitted within December downwards, its a 50/50. Thirdly, like I said earlier, you cannot do police character certificate on proxy because you have to do biometric capture. I don't think they verify bank statement, I think they use it as proof of address. Can you upload your chats with this guy here for us to see. |

For other peeps buckling up to come over here, things has really changed here. The Visa is 50/50, its no longer 100% as before. When I cam here untill September last year, I can beat my chest and say its 100%, but now it's more like throwing a dice. |

Portlouis: Thank you for your honest submission. I have one question... Have you seen a Nigerian that did the process himself, submitted his authentic documents from Nigeria and got denied?
My simple advice to people, please avoid paying money to these acclaimed agents residing in Mauritius, claiming they have the magic wand to land you visa and job in just one month. They end up sending fake and erroneous documents to the school and thereafter the embassy and consequently, rejection follows.
I learnt the way. The police character certificate the guy used for me was fake and had so much errors of my passport details. The admission letter was edited.
In the nutshell, please let's learn to do it ourselves so that if you're denied, you won't feel scammed. The process is very easy as I have come to learn from a brother in this thread.
@mekanta please I am expecting your answer to my question.
Peace!!! Hi, from my knowledge, you have to provide police character certificate from alagbon, which is verifiable online. All the documents you provide from Nigeria is what will be used for your visa application. The only additional documents here is the accommodation letter I think. Yes my friend was issued with such letter on 6th of January. When I came in here, visa application takes just 2weeks, then permit takes 4weeks. But Recently visa application takes more and permit takes forever. I have people that submitted for permit since November, and still they haven't gotten it, while some did get theirs a bit early. For the first time on this Island, this week, I was stopped by police to show my ID!!! The country is totally locking down. Just know that visas will be more strict nowadays. Like I said before, email the letter to Passport and Immigration Office, their email is attached on that letter. |

Portlouis: Very good question. Visa was rejected and no reason was stated. Which embassy does that abeg? See the rejection letter. Good morning house... This is how Mauritius rejection letter is. For verification, email this document to PIO for confirmation. They reject without reason. The country has locked down on Nigerians. Shalom ! |

“If it’s in Joburg, your flight reservation say. Then the house address must be in joburg.” This isn’t true. If i’m landing at OR Tambo situated at Joburg. Does this means I reside in Joburg? Your port of Entry is Joburg in Gauteng but your host adress must be within the province. E.g Pretoria
4. 3 months bank statement is applicable to Lagos applicants. Abuja demands 6 months bank statements. Yours and your host OP you like too much talk oo kaiii. What the OP up there said is simple. Take it or leave it. Pretoria is close to Joburg and Soweto and as such they use OR Tambo Airport. |

I’m not going to Uk not to come back but I like exploring and won’t like to get stuck at Mauritius while studying without going for a vacation. Looking forward to hear from you. Thanks Sorry for late response bro. I've been busy with my Chef job lately as I am back to the Island. mastersammy: First of all, what may not work for you does not mean it won't work for another person.
Don't just stay there and assume things about Mauritius or what people tell you about Mauritius.
I consider Mauritius a country full of opportunities and jobs , something we can't find in naija. In Mauritius here there are lots and lots of jobs available and you stand a chance of earning at least 150k minimum.
Those people complaining they dont want to come Mauritius to be washing plate in a hotel, I pity that person mentality, it's obvious the person hasn't traveled at all before and doesn't know the true meaning of hustling or experience it and you will be earning reasonable amount of money as salary.
I say it again, Mauritius is a place to be and it gives someone a chance to start something for him or herself and be earning reasonable amount of money, something you can't find in naija
And again, Mauritius is not a place you expect to come and cash out with millions Nooo.
Rather Mauritius will give you an opportunity to start something for yourself, come up with a plan and move to a better better country Well said.. I've been following this thread... You know life is what you make of it. I still dey chill for UK, man pikin go enter Grand baie next month as cold wan frustrate my nose. If Mauritian currency was a bit strong like that of the West, I will choose Mauritius. Its too busy in the West that's why these whites relocate to Mauritius. Mauritian passport being second strongest in Africa after Seychelles equally means their permit is strong too. If you don't have a plan, you will get stuck in Mauritius. |

Each transit before boarding, na so them go dey look the visa like say na Oluwale.. God pass them sha cos na only me know say na legit. But each encounter, when they notice that I'm a resident of Mauritius, they just calm down and wave ahead for me to pass.
